Not sure how we can improve the judging though, at least it's better than boxing. Boxing judges seem to be heavily skewed either to the favourite or the home fighter. We don't see that at least in the UFC.
Some people, mma experts and fighters proposed open scoring and I think this could improve situation a lot but sometimes it could make things worse. It's impossible for everyone to be happy with mma judging but there is a lot space for improvements, and I agree with you that situation in boxing is not any better. One more thing could be to better educate judges and introduce one ex mma fighter in judging system. Football has VAR. There is a topic here (but moved to off-topic) about VAR. People are more positive to it, then negative. Perhaps something like that should or better must be implemented in UFC. At least to avoid 6 and 12h elbows and knee to grounded moments. But, I dont know how to properly implement it. I wouldn't stop action in mma like in football just to watch replay and in football you have ball with chip inside that can track in if crosses the line. It's much more complicated to do the same thing with fighters and watching replay could change fight direction and irritate fans. |

None of the teams in these qualifiers are ever really high quality & their games usually have goals, goals & more goals.
Maybe that is true about goals but better avoid matches that are played earlier during the day because of high temperatures and weather conditions. I never like betting on Conference League of rejects, but Europe League is not that bad and you can find good betting oportunities. Mmm after watching some tape, it's Vera's durability which makes me kinda lean on him. And he's somewhat fast enough to evade some of Cruz's offense. Cruz on the other hand is who I think is more well rounded between these guys. He has a wrestling background, has good take downs, good foot work, good volume but not much power in those hands. Vera has power and there's a possibility Vera could finish him at R4 or R5. And watch Cruz vs Munhoz, I think Cruz's chin isn't what it used to...
My bet is on Marlon Vera to win in main event, he is much younger and he has slight reach advantage in this fight. He is coming from three wins after losing a fight against legend Jose Aldo in 2020, but he never lost a fight with KO or submission! Best bet for me in this fight is that fight will go distance with all five rounds, maybe in combination with Very win if you want better odds. |

I'm not massively looking forward to the next event, but I'll likely combine a football, and UFC bet together. I will be here to watch this one all the way through at least. Me neither but I think main event Vera vs Cruz will be interesting to watch. One more fight worth watching from prelims is heavyweight fight Łukasz Brzeski vs Martin Buday, I remember people praising polish fighter Brzeski. Yeah, I don't think he's got it like Usman. However, he's decent, and I remember liking him on the ultimate fighter. Seemed a decent person, but a little gun shy at times when in fights. I like him, and hope he does get a run going on in the UFC. I don't think he's champion material though, however that's alright not everyone is or needs to be challenger material.
He has the same blood like Kamaru so there is potential for him to be challenger in future, but he needs to prove this in next fights. I can't judge him based only on one or two fights and I was more talking about his genetic predisposition, and Dana will use his connection with Kamaru for promotion, and I think he likes him. Mohammed Usman did my accumulator in. I underestimated him after watching him on the The Ultimate Fighter. I know I didn't put out any predictions, but I hopefully will be back in full swing come next event, and hopefully have a few good winners.
I just found confirmed information that Mohammed is Kamaru Usman younger brother. Heavyweight division just got one more very serious candidate for contender position and I am sure he is going up in rankings very fast. That was a nice left hook KO. From the looks of the punch it seemed like he didn’t even have much power behind it but it laid Neal out cold. I guess that shows you just how much power is behind every punch they throw.
Heavyweights have serious power and with one correct punch they can put anyone to sleep. Francis Ngannou is good example but I wouldn't underestimate anyone from heavyweight division. Mohammed Usman needs to pass next test in UFC before we can see how strong he is really, but I see he lost two fights so far one of them in PFL last year. |

I am not sure if Championship will be mentioned but it would be cool if they do that. This summer I don't have much free time like Trofo and I didn't manage to joined Fantasy league like I wanted. Championship prediction competition is best I can do for now and I will try to write my predictions every week. If Watford win tonight, they'll be just 7 teams in the running for a perfect start to the season, but that'll probably be significantly better than Premier League who'll only have 8 teams max after Matchday 2!
Nobody won today but Ismaïla Sarr missed a penalty for Watford in second half. West Brom attacked more, they had much more chances, corners, and shots on goal, so I think draw is a fair result. Blackburn started this season in a great way with two wins but real test is next round with West Brom. Huddersfield is one of the biggest disappointment in Championship for me in first two rounds so far. |

Not really surprising though, that guy is a known poacher. Was Championship's player of the season, and he didn't do tooooo badly in EPL the season before that. Kane not on the scoresheet when Spurs knock in 4 is a bit of a misnomer, and Chelsea as always, impossible to predict who will get the goals (if they do get any).
I only predicted one goal scorer correctly and this was Mitrovic for Fulham, so this was really bad first Majestic round for me. Fortunejack changed design and added title Build your team, so I am not giving up my $10k for next round. Anyone had better results than me in this round? |

This was great main event and very good KO win for Jamahal Hill and he is for sure going up in rankings after this win against Thiago Santos, next fight for him should be with someone from top 5 in light heavyweight category.
He asked for Jiri Prochazka in press conference after the fight, but he would accept fight with Jan Blachowicz.
I am not sure if Mohammed Usman has any connection with Champion Kamaru Usman but he won performance of the night in this event with Geoff Neal.

Thank you for the freebets! Good I didn't use them yesterday as I would have for sure put on Liverpool and Southampton, seems like Spurs are just too damn good even if their top 2 scorers DON'T score.
This was really crazy first round in Premier League with some unexpected results, and Liverpool draw was one of them. I expected to see lot of goals and Mitrovic to score for Fulham but I expected more from Liverpool. Bournemouth was better than Aston Villa and today Manchester lost from Brighton in Old Trafford, and Leicester couldn't beat Brentford. Season started very good for last year Championship teams, and Arsenal with Tottenham performed best for me in this round. |
