what potential activity is, it is the activity of the account where u may go up within a hour just by posting.

someone tell me , an account with potential activities and can be from 150 to 480 in an hour  by posting 330 posts

I just read the rules of the activities. a little confused.

IMO potentiol activity is something less than 14.  that's because you havn't post in this two week period.

Am I right?
No offense but your english is pretty broken so excuse me if I misinterpret something:

My interpretation of what you said: Can someone tell me if an account with <missing> potential Activity can raise his Activity from 150 to 480 in an hour by posting 330 posts.

My answer: Nope, that's posts. Potential activity (unless I missed something) is merely a term used to explain the maximum activity a user could've achieved if he were to post the at least a number of posts required to raise your Activity by 14 over the 2 week period it's counted within. Actual Activity is based on how you actually posted during those 2 week periods and you can't really change that (unless you delete your posts bellow what your current activity is, if I'm not mistaken; this however only decreases Activity).

My interpretation of what you said: IMO potential Activity can be less than 14 if you haven't posted [enough] in the current 2 week period. <alluding to what is potential activity>

My answer: As far as I understand, the concept of potential activity stems from the quite popular "Bitcointalk Account Price Estimator" (https://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/) by the user (and now also moderator/staff) achow101. As previously mentioned, potential Activity is the Activity you'd have if (since the creation of your account) you were to post at least the number of posts required to raise your Activity by the biggest possible number over each period of 2 weeks.

3166  Other / Meta / Re: Sending P.M to yourself ? on: October 16, 2016, 08:43:28 PM
As nobody explicitly stated it, that's just what happens when you quote Outbox messages (perhaps SMF sees the Outbox as messages sent to the other user (main message) and you (Oubox message)). If you don't want a copy of your new PM, just remove your name (and the comma) from the "To:" field.

It's just like being able to email yourself. It's useful for saving things that you might need (like a stock response). I have also found this useful for doing some testing with BBCode but without having to make a thread.

I never really thought about it honestly , could those P.M be considered as "valid" If you for example put your address there or your PGP public key instead of stacking it in the usual thread ?
A little off-topic but yeah it would, unless the hacker would find said PM and delete it (at which point you'd have to hope theymos doesn't mind digging in several month old backup files). It's best to just PM a user that doesn't delete PMs (an alt you never log back into or DefaultTrust (yup, that's an actual user - a placeholder user for the DefaultTrust feature)).
3167  Other / Meta / Re: Talking Meta about Pools Here is Difficult on: October 16, 2016, 08:39:35 PM
If you're looking for a curated list of pools (or pretty much anything for that matter) and expect Bitcointalk staff to provide an entire (rather complicated) system, which picks out the best ones on a number of factors, you might not be completely aware of what the term "discussion forum" means. Anyone, who happens to own a pool, and isn't currently banned (permanently or temporarily) for breaking the forum's rules is allowed to start a thread about it. If someone wants to create a thread that reviews and rates said pools based on certain factors as well as general user input, they can do so (and many have done so with signature campaigns, various services, escrows, etc.). If that's not enough, nobody's stopping you from starting a website and pulling data from Bitcointalk's threads (with the appropriate request limit of up to 1 per second).

So if you see a problem - feel free to try and solve it (create a curated thread, start a website, etc.). There wasn't a list of all Bitcointalk's rules in one place, which ended up in quite a few situations where users were completely unaware of the existence of such, so I just made one.

As both a very reputable user pointed out that the user is trying to bait curious people and the VirusTotal scan seems to clearly indicate that this is malware, I've deleted the thread and banned the user.

Also, please edit out the link from the OP (security concerns, you know).
