3161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Foundation on: February 08, 2013, 10:14:43 AM
A) It requires a donation instead of just asking for one. I guess that's fine, but where does the donation go? Why is the bitcointalk.org forum not just doing this instead? We have like what, 5000 BTC now that will most certainly never all be used to make a forum? Does the Bitcoin foundation really need 10,000 BTC a year for a "business" just to say that it supports bitcoin, something that was intended to be decentralized from the beginning?
I believe most of the money goes towards paying Gavin a salary.
So we don't even know what Gavin earns?

Bitcoin vs. Real Facts.

I live in Italy and and I was offered a 2012 MacBook Air for 300€ yesterday. I admit that I really wanted it but I refused.
3163  Economy / Speculation / Re: The international economy is about to crash. Bitcoin WILL explode upwards. on: February 08, 2013, 06:40:10 AM
The economy is going to have to restart. If the internet survives, Bitcoin will be the new currency going forward. For those who don't react in time, my condolences.

48% of Americans believe another great depression is likely to happen in the next 12 months.
48% of the Americans are ignorant enough not to know tha the crysis as of now is already bigger than the so called Great Depression ('29).

Cool, they are using an anycast network:

(They are back up for me)
3165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gox timing out ? on: February 07, 2013, 08:58:28 PM
Same for me. (EU) But with U.S. proxy I can reach the site just fine.
But trading api is obviously still up Sad

Would it be possible to share that proxy ? Not sure if it's a private proxy of yours, but would appreciate it.
Wait for gox to come back online and don't use it trough a proxy. Use a VPN with an american exit if in urgent need.
3166  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you really belive that you won't be able to buy at 20$ again? on: February 07, 2013, 08:50:32 PM

22$ a coin starting from 8$ a coin 2 months ago is bullshit.

22$ a coin 6 months from now could be the right price.

But not in < 50 days.

Bubble.

If everybody thinks the price in 6 months should be 22 dollars a coin, then why would anybody sell the coin now for less than 22 dollars a coin? Markets don't follow speed limits to get to the correct price, they just go to the correct price. When conditions change, then the price changes.

So why bitcoin isn't at 1000+ if everyone here is sure about it?
Anyway, a news driven rally usually happens overnight. This is not only news driven. It's belivers driven.
3167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you really belive that you won't be able to buy at 20$ again? on: February 07, 2013, 08:42:43 PM
Why are you fueling this rally like crazy? It dosen't seem to me that more than doubling the price in a month or so is healthy for this small economy.

I admit it, I want the price to go down to buy, but hell, 22$ is a crazy price. Someone is gonna hurt.

+1 22 a coin is bullshit.

It's not what i want to say.

3169  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Running some ASIC numbers... on: February 07, 2013, 07:51:21 PM
If they want to keep selling the asics, they will need to lower the price.
This is a cicle that will end when you can buy 1TH at 1000$ and the biggest cost of the TCO will be the eletric energy.

When this happens, I will buy.

3174  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Il mio punto di vista su mtgoxUSD on: February 07, 2013, 02:07:04 PM

No, non regge.

3175  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic Design Discussion on: February 07, 2013, 08:19:30 AM
I've seen many racked servers working even without the jet-like fans. However, these fans are not slow and they draw a lot correct? I bet that they do their job correctly.
3176  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic Design Discussion on: February 07, 2013, 06:43:07 AM
You guys should investigate more on how server heat dissipation works. There is a reason if they are done that way. Avalon design is correct.

Perché no?
3178  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Il mio punto di vista su mtgoxUSD on: February 06, 2013, 02:33:35 PM

Felice! Bitcoin economici in arrivo! Smiley

+1 for this decision.

(But please, do something to get us rid of SMF and pay some hosting provider to have better scalability...)

I want to follow this tragicomic comedy.
