3161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 28, 2021, 08:50:53 PM

Therefore my pick is Nets -2.5.

Game: Warriors vs Clippers... going with the Warriors -2.5 on the road.

I'll tail you in this one, I think Warriors are too hot right now and I don't think the Clippers has enough manpower to stop them, specially Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins and the Warriors are winning are an average of double digits lead. So I expect this to be a tough game but it could be another blow out win for the Warriors again.

I can't pass on this as well, the Warriors are doing just too great to be ignored, and Clippers are coping the best way they can too but It won't be enough to handle GSW imo.

I'm also taking the Bucks -2.5 vs Indiana Pacers

Good luck guys, I think we are all on the same side. Warriors are playing great basketball, their consistency would make us trust the team, and whoever they are playing against with, they always have a good chance of winning, so relax and enjoy the game now, it has started already.
3162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: November 28, 2021, 08:33:18 PM
Is this match will come true or only just a speculation?
This isn't yet confirmed but only speculations are telling that this match might occur in 2022 of February. Read this article and maybe you'll get some idea when it may happen. As said, all are speculation in date and there's no actual date yet for the match.
Article: Mike Tyson vs Logan Paul: Date, Weight, Tickets, Odds and Everything You Need To Know
This match will be realized as both fighters confirm it will happen, however, the date of the fight is not yet fixed, probably they are still observing how how the boxing community will accept it, and I think the boxing community wants to see it as we are talking about this fight and that would only mean, they will be able to sell enough tickets to make this a profitable fight for them.
3163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best ways to invest money? on: November 28, 2021, 07:25:42 PM
General goal is same for all newbies, the faster they can make money the richer they gonna be in their next life. Main reason why 95% of all new businesses fail can be from same source that why crypto investors fail in their journeys.
Still, the end point will be to become rich and have financial stability. For me, i am here investing for long term since my goal is to build my dream house for my family and to create retirement pension so i won't have to worry for my old age. I think it will be very possible with crypto as long as i am consistently aware of the risk and knows how to manage it. Although the process is not easy, but with consistent gaining of knowledge and building of experiences and learn from them, i know one day i will definitely succeed.
3164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments planning a Crypto Crackdown? on: November 27, 2021, 09:42:49 PM
The heart of the matter is that government all over the world are always afraid of what they have no control over.
What they don't know is that no amount of crackdown will stop crypto.
Here in my country,  banks closes the account of any customer using their account for trading Crypto. But despite that, the crypto community is growing by the day. Crypto is something the government needs to study to understand how it works, so they can use the technology behind it in solving problems but their pride won't allow it , rather they would want to crackdown on it. I consider it a misplaced priority.
That's the main reason why I think Government are also against Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is uncontrollable. If you observe very well, you will notice that the Government are always afraid of anything that is out of their control.  But come to think of it, will cracking down Crypto probably put a end to Bitcoin? I don't think so, rather it will make it more popular. For example, the number of Bitcoin users in Nigeria increased after Cryptocurrency was banned in the country. Bitcoin has come to stay, and it will be nice if the government embrace it.
If only the government is friendly to crypto, then we can live without personal attacks for crypto and all this plans for crypto crackdown. Yes, the government is always capable to create plans just to put and end for crypto but in the real sense, the more we ban crypto, the more it gets closer to the people. I agree that this is the reason why the government is totally against on crypto because no matter how many threats they have for crypto, until now crypto is still fighting for its decentralization. And there's no way we can control such a decentralized crypto because it will always move to reach its goal no matter how the government reacts on it. So better for the government to embrace it than keeping it rejected.
3165  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat banks and the government. on: November 27, 2021, 08:42:46 PM

That's how government works. They tend to control everything especially when there's money involved.
Government didn't force these exchange to implement KYC verification, it's a way of regulating it and the government set a policy/rules to prevent fraud. The Exchange could actually refuse the KYC verification but it might need a lot of explanations and paperworks why they want to contest the regulations or else they can operate illegally.

That's the main role of government, creating rules and regulation and imposing it to the people and following on the legal rules applied is mandatory so it would be impossible for a central banks regulated by the government to go against the policy even if they seemed to be open to accept crypto transactions. I maybe less thinking that the government wanted to implement rules just because of they wanted to have a full control on digital finances but having a full control for the safety of the people and the finances of the country is their main priorities.
Exactly. The government should always look for the welfare of its citizens so they tend to control all the activities particularly with money involvement to avoid fraudulence and scams but sad to say in some instances the government itself creates fraud. That's how government works, not just to protect our own interests but also to protect theirs.

However, with banks go against the rules of the government, i don't think it's possible even if some really want to. Banks have no choices so they should always abide with the government's rules if they want to continue serving the people and continue operating legally.
3166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying Your Portfolio in Crypto on: November 27, 2021, 02:48:28 PM
If you could able to identify directly on whats a scam project then good for you but its not really that something on where everybody would able to do so because experienced eyes wouldnt able on having that 100% sure whether a project is scam or not...

Now a lot of projects are being launched without even having a website. But the lack of a website was previously one of the red flags for the project. And what surprises me a lot is that investors carry money into such projects, counting on the fact that almost all coins after TGE bring several hundred percent profit to their investors. And this is really still a working scheme now, which will be brought down together with the arrival of the bear market.
Investors are looking for hype projects because they want a short-term earning profit and they aren't purely investing because of its use of the project, they invested because they gamble their money and hope it will double the amount within a month or it might a week.  That's right, this seems like a scheme because when the hype will stop, then it will become a shitcoin.

Diversifying a portfolio isn't mean that you will always make a profit because we don't know exactly which is altcoins that have the potential to make a profit.

If you want to diversify, better look for valuable projects with existing market applications. As we have seen, a lot of new projects can't implement their objectives. So if you want a lil bit of assurance, just venture on established alts that have long been in this market. Testing the waters in hype projects are quite risky. But if you have extra funds and your instincts is saying you can profit from it, why not? At the end of the day, you are the one managing your funds.
Of course, if you want to make profits, do not just invest in those newly projects who have no guarantees to succeed. Look for those who are already on top of others because definitely they are the ones who will mostly come up successful and profitable. And if you think of diversifying your portfolio, invest a higher percentage for bitcoin and a little portion for some established altcoins. As long as you hold them for long term, then you should not be triggered easily with price corrections or any price dumps that will make the market look bearish.
3167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Is the bubble about to burst?" on: November 27, 2021, 10:17:57 AM
While I get that most of Bitcoin is being held by a small percentage of addresses, I'm trying to understand what exactly the point is. Is the article indirectly implying that BTC and crypto in general also being manipulated to a great degree, creating a hype bubble which will eventually burst? You, as someone who looks like he's experienced with such incidents, what do you believe? Are we in a manipulated bubble about to burst? Or did I get it all wrong?

So what? Its always like that and you will never change it. Some people work 10h daily, are smart, brave, others live from social benefits. Some are focused on their hobbies, other or addictions (drugs, alcohol, pornography), others on earning and multiplying capital. One person buy new iPhone as soon as he manage to save 1000$ other use this money to start business or invest in others business. People are different so their wealth must be different.

Its not about who have how many bitcoins. Bitcoin was not created in a way that everyone have 0.01 BTC and force people not to have more or less. Its impossible and in fact it blocks its main purpose (transfer of value).
Once again. Bitcoin was not made to make everyone wealth equal. It was made (one of its purpose) to make everyone chances equal. To transfer value without restrictions, to obtain asset that is not printed out of thin air by single centralized identity. Asset that its purchasing power did not decrease 95% in last 100 years (only because of printing and no max supply). Asset that cannot be seized by anyone.

Focus on your wealth and how you can multiply it instead of looking at others wallets.
I certainly agree, I never implied that Bitcoin was created in order to evenly distribute wealth. However, I'm pointing out that these few people, who are holding most of Bitcoin, can definitely play a vital role in the market. We all had our fair chances of obtaining Bitcoin, and most of us didn't, there's no one to blame for that. Bitcoin (and cryptocurrencies in general) provide us with capabilities that fiat currency cannot.
Because of that, bitcoin has received negative criticism from fiat lovers who are now saying that bitcoin is a bubble and anytime it could burst out. I don't think they should blame bitcoin for whatsoever reasons because the people have chose to invest and hold it since there are a lot of potentials in bitcoin that they can't find in fiat. And now, since bitcoin is having a hard time to recover again, they are now starting to spread negativity on bitcoin again and predicting that any time it will bound to end.

However, this is not new for us as bitcoin and crypto has been always attacked by close minded people. We just have to let them say their own opinions and continue minding on our own business.
3168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fate of SHIBA Inu, is this the end of the Road? on: November 26, 2021, 10:29:39 PM
I think it will be a little early now as the team is working on their future plans. There are a lot of issues that we should keep in mind but this is a meme coin and to make any predictions about it is a little unfamiliar to me given the current situation. You can't say about shiba inu at the moment because the team is working on it but it has not seen any increase in price for some time now. It has been continuously decreasing. so wait for sometime.
Probably, if the whole market recovers, then we will see more likely for Shiba Inu too as its also having a rough time right now having a continuous dump. As long as Shiba has a good trading volume and its community is still supporting it, then it will never be the end of its road. But still, we should always be careful investing in meme coins as they are more on hype, with its pump and its dump moments. Maybe investing with a small amount can do knowing it will only be good for short term.
3169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is recovering on: November 26, 2021, 09:45:57 PM
Bitcoin has made good progress today compared to last three days today Bitcoin almost touched $60k ($59,390) as a result we have seen decent progress in other altcoins as well. Either this is a breakout point wherein bitcoin will proceed towards new ATH or a bull trap but I don't think it would be a bull trap as market just went through correction phase. What's your opinion on bitcoin at the moment?

I think that it was clear now that it was a bull trap.

The $60k resistance was definitely quite strong and by the looks of it, we won't be breaching that level in the near term future.

Right now we have to look to the SA COVID situation - the risk-asset sell off is occurring everywhere.
We are not yet done with this year so there's always a chance for bitcoin to still recover and settle its price higher than $60k. Although bitcoin is really down today at its current price at $54,394 but for sure this is not going into a bull trap. Because if we really look at its real picture, bitcoin price is indeed higher than all of the other coins and once it will recover, it may even reach its new ATH higher from what we expected. Its just a matter of faith anyway and believing that bitcoin won't left us hanging.
3170  Economy / Economics / Re: People tend not to move on: November 26, 2021, 09:19:05 PM
Change isn't necessarily positive, and that's where most people (including myself) chicken out. For instance, leaving my current job, in which I've been working for the past two years, looks like a huge leap to me. I know, that I'm going to get paid each month, with an above average salary, how to manage the job and what to expect from it. However, I'm positive that I've missed a handful of opportunities by staying  stagnant.

It's basically being scared to lose what you already have, moving out of your comfort zone is a copious procedure, not many take such risks.
I was fearing the same thing, I wasn't promoted to higher level in my job for 2.5 years, most anyone has ever worked in that position at my last job was 8 months, I stayed there for 2.5 years, I broke the record and then near quadrupled it, so I was a great employee and they didn't allow me to switch departments in the same place neither stating I am crucial for the work.

However they didn't give me any chief position, didn't promoted to higher level and so forth. Basically, it is not going to be anything good for me there as long as I stayed, so I quit and ever since then I have been a lot better. But I had friends like that who ended up a lot worse, like for example my wife was a teacher and she always wanted to be a teacher while growing up but after she became a teacher during her 4th year she decided she doesn't want to be a teacher anymore and hated her job, cried while going to work she hated THAT much.

So, she quit and ever since then she has been looking for some work that she could do and failed to do so for 3+ years now. So, I would say it is really not all the same and I get the idea of how quitting your job could be scary but if we don't do it then we can't grow and never have a "chance" to fill out the maximum our life could provide us.
I get it.  Not all new opportunities always turn out to be positive, sometimes its even a worst thing that comes. This is the reason why we have to carefully weigh things out if a new offer or opportunity is really better from our current job. Or maybe it might be good at first but later on, we realized its not for long term because its not a stable one. So i really understand for those who did not want to get out from their comfort zone anymore.

However, there are also instances that when a person gets to accept a new job and leave the old one, he gets to enjoy his life more because that is his passion and he knows exactly the flow of his new job.
3171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How reasonable is it to invest in Bitcoin in the current situation? on: November 26, 2021, 05:08:13 PM
Very reasonable especially if your plan is to hold it for long term.  however, if you are investing for short term, then I suggest that you wait until the market will dip or correct as usually, that's the right opportunity to buy so you'll earn a short term profit. There are situations now that bitcoin would just dump then recover in the next few days, just like the current situation, it dump at $55k and now we are going to $60k again.

For me there's only one thing why it is still reasonable to invest in bitcoin because I do have a firm believe that bitcoin will be one of the useful currency in the near future since there already many people who used to deal with it. Either you are planning to invest in a long or short term investment it's all depend how do you really know bitcoin or the crypto, the market is so volatile and the correction that takes place recently or should I say currently is just a natural and this time is a perfect time to buy bitcoin.
It's more reasonable to buy bitcoin right now with its current price at $54,328 so grab the chance while its cheaper today.  Although we really don't know if it will drop more or not, as long as its bitcoin, then we have nothing to worry about. Bitcoin will always follow an upward position so no matter if it experiences series of dumps, it will always bound to recover again and reach its new ATH.

However, for altcoins, choose those coins who have high potentials to build momentum again like ethereum and BNB so we will not be wasting our money because they only end up as shitcoins.
3172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and it uncertainties on: November 26, 2021, 02:59:20 PM
This thread is primarily directed to discuss how traders manage trading uncertainties how do you manage to decide on your trading in a volatile market such as cryptocurrency where price can change within some seconds.

My strategy is quite simple. Buy when you think the price of the particular is worth more but you are getting at a lower price.
Wait for some days for momentum to build in the market. Take profits if the price goes up.
HODL if the price goes down. Don't know why people take so much stress when trading.
So you say that you wont get stressed  with your trades and telling and wondering on why people do take much stress? Even veteran ones

would really be able to felt these things because uncertainties and doubts would really be there because we are just humans no matter how

you do held off that negative profit of a certain coin of yours then not everyone does have that level of patience thats why decisions
will really vary.

Holding while your portfolio is going down requires a good amount of self control and patience as you say.
But I think people should not stress over it much because there's no good in stressing and taking the pressure on yourself.
It won't change the numbers in red to green. So even if you are in a loss just be patient and learn how to improvise the trades.
In trading, expect that the market won't always be bullish but being bearish as well so its not surprising to see your portfolio sometimes going down since the market is dumping. But never be carried away with your emotions and stay patient because the market condition will definitely change from time to time. Once you see the market being unstable, trading is not really advisable as the risk is certainly high. Just wait for the market to be normal again so you can minimize losses, and start making good trades to succeed.
3173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoin would be next gamechanger? on: November 25, 2021, 09:52:22 PM
I think the new gameChanger coin of the future will be according to mine is PolkaDot (DOT) ,  and Avalanche (AVAX) because its movement is just amazing if you observe his charts you will get that its perform well in short period of time as compare to other . so I am sure that in upcoming days it will perform just like Ethereum.
PolkaDot and Avalanche are both promising when it comes to altcoins investment. For me, i still prefer ethereum and ADA to be the next gamechanger for altcoins since their value are still worth to invest despite of the correction phase that is happening in the market right now. Although this will not be for long, so we can expect that after a correction, their value will rise up even more due to the strong support level brought by the present correction. And once the market is back to normal, that's the time ethereum and ADA will be seen more profitable with their new ATH coming.
3174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My plans for the next bear market on: November 25, 2021, 01:11:55 PM
I guess is not a good plan to sell all the altcoin, now that the end of the year is approaching because the price of those coins will still increase higher before the end of December. Selling bitcoin and other altcoin in this season is not a good idea because things are about to change in the market for those customers waiting for the price to reduce so that they can buy more coin and hold for future.
Buy more bitcoin, since the price is still not stable for anyone to make a good profit in the market . Anyone that bear this season not to sell altcoins but hold will really enjoy the reward that attache to those that plan well to bear the market before the end of December.
Well, it's not really a good idea to sell all of your altcoins just to make huge profits. I know bullish season is definitely a good time to sell but you must have also some reserves for the next trend as we are still uncertain when will this bearish season will finally hit the market. But once the bearish trend  will come, i have my ultimate plans and that is to buy more promising coins in the market and build up a  business offline so i can still diversify my investments. In times the crypto market seems not making good profits, at least i still have other source of income that i can rely.
3175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if governments make Bitcoin centralized? on: November 24, 2021, 09:34:15 PM
I'm thinking of any way that the governments can centralized Bitcoin but I can't think of any (or just that I'm not that good at thinking Cheesy).
Anyway, first they didn't create the coin. Second how can they get all those 18,881,100 BTC that are in circulation right now because if you want a currency to become centralized, you must have a full access to it and to start that you must have all or  if not most of the coins.

I don't think that this is ever possible but they can try if they want to. I mean companies are using a huge portion of their money just to mine crypto coins and get profit so the government can do it too.
It’s impossible now, they can make their own coin to centralized in their government but not to modified bitcoin as it already build it’s name and its truly just made for decentralization. Governments main reason of not fully legalizing it in many countries is due to this feature and some were banning it and just implementing their own coin since they see the potential of crypto.
They can create centralized virtual currencies as much as they want but never in the case for bitcoin. Being decentralized for bitcoin is what makes it more appealing and makes the people to stay in it away from the hands of the government.

I know they can still pursue in making bitcoin centralized but I don't think if it will succeed in the long run. Probably, most of the people still prefer bitcoin to stay decentralized.
3176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 22, 2021, 09:48:19 PM
Tonight I like 3 different games:

Bulls -1.5 at home to the Pacers.  Second game of a back to back but they are home.
Suns -5.5 against the Spurs on the road.  Normally wouldn't take this type of game but the Spurs will struggle against the Suns.
And 3rd is the Thunder getting 11.5 against the Hawks.  I think they can run with them and this will be a high scoring shootout type of game.

Good luck tonight everyone!
Well remembered @wheelz1200

I believe these three games you commented on are going to be interesting!!

Especially the Phoenix Suns game, as they have an amazing win streak, and I believe they will do anything to get their 13th straight win today!
I will follow these games!

The best pick here IMO is the Suns. I believe that we should not bet against a streaking team, in this case, the Suns which currently have a 12 win streak and they are winning with a nice margin. Spurs has a great coach but it's not anymore a playoff team, so most likely the Suns will just beat them anymore and I expect they'll take care of them easily, even on the road.
3177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: November 22, 2021, 09:26:36 PM
I don't think that's the reason, Casimero vs Inoue is a big fight, they can pay WBO if that is necessary for their fight to be realized.

I feel the problem is on the side of Inoue because Casimero has been very vocal and he is continuously challenging to book a fight with him, but nothing happens and for sure that is because of Bob Arum's influence to not make the fight possible for now because he is not done with Inoue yet as his cash cow.

A big fight maybe before the pandemic. It's hard to organize a fight today where promoters will earn the same average before the pandemic. It's a waste if the Inoue match to anyone will end up like that. Bob Arum is a genius as a businessman. Do you afford to spend much organizing a fight where in return, you can't expect a good return? How can a promoter continue to arrange a big fight if no big cash will flow in the system? That's the thing that others understand and will just say Arum is the only one benefiting from it. It's contrary, without Arum, some boxers under him would not end up on success.

If you think Arum is milking some cash to Inoue then you are also saying that Inoue and his camp is an idiot not to realize it.

No, we've seen a lot of big fights lately, so for sure there's already money at this time since we also see a venue full of people already, it looks like we are back to the normal days before the pandemic. Bob Arum is smart, but not giving a big fight to his fighters is not good, look what happen to Crawford, he does not have big fights with Top Rank so after his fight with Porter (which he won), he did not renew the contract with Bob anymore, some with other fighters in the past.
Dont know on whats the reason behind of those decisions but pretty sure that they wont really be that dumb on making some action which they do know that they could still benefit out when it comes to revenue.
It is really true that we are slowly coming back to normal days on where we arent already that much scared about this pandemic situation and thats been proved out with current sports now
which you could already see some audience around and for sure we would really be seeing once again these fight arrangement because of pandemic its understandable that there would be some delays
and some not good match ups.

If Casimero wins this fight, then we should expect an Inoue vs Casimero fight next year, otherwise, it will prove our speculation that Bob Arum is just trying to protect the record of Inoue who is still undefeated now.

In this article last year, Bob Arum's reason that he cannot make this fight happen is that he wants a live gate entrance which I think could happen this year or next year if he will arrange this fight, so no more excuses from him.

https://businessmirror.com.ph/2020/11/10/arum-tells-casimero-to-be-patient-on-fight-with-inoue/

Quote
“So who is going to pay for it without the [live] gates? I cannot afford that fight—Casimero and Inoue—inside the bubble, I just can’t [pay for it],” Arum, who turns 89 on December 8, told BusinessMirror in a phone interview on Tuesday from his Las Vegas home.

3179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 22, 2021, 08:16:24 PM
While this is a good thing for the PH players, this is bad for the PBA.
While PH players are getting paid higher and getting more experience playing outside the country, PBA is losing some great players.

There are only 2 players right now that shift from PBA to Japan B league and those players are overrated in the league. Ray Parks Jr. and Kiefer Ravena are just average players in the league so I don't think they can be considered as great players in the PBA right now even you add Christian Standhardinger there.

The problem is not those players that come from PBA but those prospects that don't want to be drafted in the league and went straight to Japan B-league. High salary, high compensation but these players need to show they deserved those paychecks. If they failed to show that, they will be removed from that league and PBA will still be their last checkpoint.

That's nice if they still have a chance to play in the PBA back, however, the reason they were signed by Japan's B-League is that they have the quality of a good import, and unless they are fully injured, they can still play and enjoy their good salary. Ray Parks Jr. used to play in international games already, it's not new for him and as far as I see, he is doing well with this team.

And the most important is he is happy.

At least to me Inoue seems to be determined to prove that he is above all the fighters on his division, so even if Casimero lost to Butler we could see them fighting above the ring, I have my doubts it would be soon as Inoue would prefer to fight Butler in that scenario to get an unification fight, but after that was done I think both fighters will look for a way to get above the ring together so they can give the fans the fight we have been waiting for some time.
Right, every boxer really wanted to proved they are the best in their division, by becoming the champion and then fighting the other champions an challenger and sweeping that division. So even if Casimero lost, Inoue will have to fight him eventually. I do hope though that there will be no surprises. Casimero win this fight then it will be Casimero vs Inoue next. And that is what fans are waiting to see next year, and it's going to be huge for this division.
I am really hoping for the same as this is the fight we wanted to see happening and because of the delays the WBO ordered Casimero to fight Butler, however it is not going to be an easy fight and we know that once the fight begins anything can happen and a huge upset could be on the cards if Casimero does not prepare properly against an opponent he is convinced he can beat, in any case I still think Inoue vs Casimero will happen even in that scenario, but if it happens as an unification fight the hype will be huge and it will be even more exciting just by that factor alone.

I don't think it has something to do with that, WBO really had to ordered the fight between Casimero and Butler. And even if Casimero vs Inoue is already book by that time, they have to go to WBO and ask permission and pay the step aside money.

And I think that's the biggest concern because no one is willing to pay that one. So the fight between Inoue and Casimero didn't materialised.
