3161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson vs Holyfield Charity Fight on: June 01, 2020, 08:50:26 AM
I think the match will not too serious as they want to help the charity, and maybe they will only play for fun to entertain people who watch their match while they will invite more people to donate their money. I guess that can collect some big cash as charities because they are the famous person in Boxing, and they have a reputation among the other.
It's still a fight, how would a non-serious fight look like?

The purpose is for charity, but they could hurt each other since this is boxing, you hit your opponent and you get hit.
We will see who will win in this event, but I think I'll bet on the underdog of the fight, don't know who is the dog here since there's no odds yet, but probably Holyfield  will be the dog as Tyson is very popular, though he was once a dirty fighter when they both met in the past.

3165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may be the solution to Africa's broken financial system. on: May 31, 2020, 11:39:29 PM
The government has to support crypto and bitcoin as it's their chance to improve their financial system.

There are remittances in the country but they are charging a lot, so it's not good for long term purposes and it will not help people to improve their lives.
With bitcoin, transaction can be sent instantly at a cheaper transaction fee compared to the traditional remittance center.

I'm happy to see the unbank being serve by bitcoin as this represents how important bitcoin or the decentralized system in a country where their banking is a huge problem. A success of Africa would given an open eyes on some countries where are belong to the underdeveloped countries.
3166  Economy / Speculation / Re: What’s next for Bitcoin? on: May 31, 2020, 11:12:14 PM
We know the answer, it's volatility makes bitcoin very unpredictable, if we see it pumped and break the $10k resistance, it doesn't mean it will continue to skyrocket, it could still dump and then the hype will be gone. Therefore, just be ready in any situation and make sure you benefit on the price volatility of bitcoin, we have pass the bull run and that time it wakens up the mind of the people and draw some doubts to them, so they will not just easily get FOMOd even if bitcoin will have a significant increase.

As I was saying, be ready and try to benefit on its volatility by learning short term trading.
3167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's new law for protecting CryptoCurrency. on: May 31, 2020, 12:45:02 PM
This is only applicable if you entrusted your bitcoin to a platform like a trading or investing platform that are legally compliance with the law of the government, however, this is not possible if you have a bitcoins in your wallet and you forget to transfer it before you die.

I think this is a good law, it recognizes how valuable bitcoin is and its potential in the future.
I thought China was anti crypto but then they are making this kind of regulation, I'm a bit confuse.
3168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Preparing for the ETH 2.0 PoS? on: May 31, 2020, 12:22:20 PM
Binance's Ethereum holders continue to send ETH to their personal wallets since May 9.
Source: https://twitter.com/mason_jang/status/1266890251596820482?s=20

this mean ethereum price will shoot up in the near time
and maybe the best time to buy more ethereum is now Wink
regards

That's the speculation of the ETH 2.0 supporters, but there's no guarantee for that, however, based on the market trend, ETH is likely to be bullish before the launch date of ETH 2.0 but ETH at over $200, I would not bite that price, I'm hoping it will drop a bit before I'll start accumulating in preparation for a possible pump starting next month . I have a feeling that the market will drop again soon.
3169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Importance of recovery seed/private keys on: May 31, 2020, 11:43:11 AM
If you do not keep your private key, the wallet is not yours. It is like you are sending money into someone else's wallet and it can disappear anytime. So stay away from wallets concentrated in this market

How about exchanges? if we are a trader, we usually make a lot of transactions from our wallet to exchanges, sometimes we will sit the amount for awhile as we are looking for the right timing to trade, if we are trading in a centralized exchange, we will be force to just trust the exchange holding only the password and 2FA code if there is a feature, but once the site is hack or compromise, we say goodbye to our funds.

Actually DEX are good, this gives us a chance to trade directly from our wallet, but unfortunately majority of traders prefer CEX that is why DEX was left behind.
3170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do buybacks increase the value of a cryptocurrency? on: May 31, 2020, 06:36:41 AM
no, buyback is not a new way to attract investors and there are already many examples of projects that do it that way but still cannot make a big demand in the market. ways like that can be done if the product has attracted a lot of people
but, I feel that it is quite influential. imagine, when you buy at ICO or pre ICO prices, and get a lot of bonuses under normal prices, and they intend to buy back, it will make investors interested. however, this only happens to projects that are truly trusted. it will increase the value and quality of the product, and the price of the token.
That case those who invested with the pre-ICO are safe with their money no matter what happen to the project as the buy back program basically makes them get their investment, I think the buy back program is also lower than the ICO price or those who offer a buy back program does not give a lot of bonuses to early investors or pre ICO investors as ordinary investors with a little investment will suffer when these big investors will dump.

you know if big investors sees a small percentage of profit, they will take that as that is short term and they will earn a significant amount since they invested a big amount of money. That's pretty it, they have to ensure that interest of all investors will be protected for the project to succeed.
3171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This forum is much more than just signature campaigns... on: May 29, 2020, 12:56:48 PM
Great to see you are enjoying and earning at the same time, that's the prize of being so resourceful.

You are right, this forum is more than just a signature campaign because there's only few members here who are wearing signature compared to the number of users who have created an account int he forum. Total members are over 2 million as of today, that's big enough and I would not be surprise those company who choose to promote their business here.

^^^^^

Anyway, good luck, I hope you'll earn more and I hope you'll be able to join a signature campaign soon, and I hope you rank up as well.
3172  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is becoming legal in my country! Any business idea? on: May 29, 2020, 12:26:32 PM
Go for a lucrative business, with that, I can suggest a gambling site.

It's good if you will be the first to start a gambling site in your country, that way, you will get the market first and that will make you profitable overtime.

Just look at the overall status of the gambling industry, they are profitable so it means it's an attractive business for the gamblers.
Good thing with crypto casinos are, they allow gamblers to gamble anonymously, and that is your advantage over the fiat casinos, and the fact that there's a lot of gamblers in the world, you can also cater outside your country since you are operating in a crypto friendly country, that will increase your market.

3174  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance: accusations of insider trading on: May 26, 2020, 10:02:51 AM
It's always possible, they are in control and they know the information on what's going to happen inside.
However, that accusation needs to have a valid evidence, otherwise that will just result to nothing.
We know it's illegal but if they are doing it and not getting caught, they are certainly making a lot of money, referring to the company as a whole.

Maybe this is what we called the benefit of owning an exchange, doing both legal and illegal will still make them profitable, but illegal is with high risk.

Lastly, we might want to reflect because it's us who are making Binance a hype exchange and any coin that is listed in an exchange, we love to hype it and some just fall for it.
3175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the trusted stablecoins to save money long-term? on: May 26, 2020, 09:43:53 AM
I think that is risky to hold a stable coin for long term though it's not volatile compared to bitcoin.
I just don't understand, sorry OP, if you like to convert your bitcoin or altcoins into USDT and hold it for long term, better save it in your bank first.

The thing is, there is no insurance here in crypto, while in bank, you can always be confident since your money is insured.

How about open an online bank account then just deposit your money in an exchange that accept fiat, then you can start trading again.
3176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 26, 2020, 08:49:20 AM
I'd rather see a no post-season 2019-20 activity or delay the 2020-21 season rather than end the current season now and head to playoffs.

It's good to see if they resume the game again and think about the next season after it. because this season is so far the best of all season since the lakers era in 2009-2010. every team is with their star players doing their best and the race for the playoffs is intense especially in the eastern conference. this is a big loss for the NBA association if they let this season go without a champion. I can't imagine what kind of NBA season is not finish.

They are into it, it's time for them to make money again, playoffs will certainly attract a lot of viewers and that will increase their income when they sell these live streaming, and maybe sportsbook would be able to help them also as the sportsbook will also benefit when the NBA will resume, but it will not be done publicly I guess as it could create some controversy as those who think about conspiracy in the NBA might have something to use as an evidence.

sorry, my investigative mind is at work again,  Grin
3177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do buybacks increase the value of a cryptocurrency? on: May 26, 2020, 08:30:52 AM
I think the only thing that buyback does is increase trust, making investors to realise that the project is here to stay,
It does not necessarily mean trust, buy back does not mean all investors will be able to sell their assets, only a percentage of the total coins/tokens sold will be entitled for buy back and we have to remember that the amount the devs are using to buy back is just the money they collected during the crowdsale, if they will do an exit scam after this, they can still take the rest of the money they didn't spend for buy back.

it's all down to how good the project is, both burning tokens and buying back won't do a thing if the use case is not good enough

I agree, that's the only way a project will be able to gain trust from the investors, buy back is just part of the program but the most important is if the project has produce progress in a certain period of time.
3178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop calling it DICE. on: May 26, 2020, 07:08:46 AM
It was due to the fact that it's based on the dice format, in fact before the site's design are showing the dice logo so people have already get used to it.
Also, we can't deny that most of the popular gambling sites in the past, has dice on their names. One name that I can remember is Primedice, its still here until now and this is one of the oldest dice site I've known.

DICE has already become as part of the brand name of gambling sites in the crypto space, and I think no one can change it anymore.
3179  Economy / Economics / Re: What would a Crypto-only economy look like? on: May 26, 2020, 06:39:36 AM
While all of this seems to be more of a dream than anything else, there's a possibility it could happen in the future if people lose trust in governments, central banks, and conglomerates alike.

There's a very little possibility IMO.
I guess not, it would be chaotic for me since there is no governance in all financial terms at all and if there's no one to control it might be disastrous for all of us inside the crypto.
it's close to impossible right, that's why I said there's a very little possibility.
No government, means no one will implement the law and that would certainly mean chaos.

Look at the country that loses their trust to their government, the country is not progressive anymore and there's a lot of crime happening.
We don't want that to see in the future, that's the reason we elect government officials to implement the law and govern people.
What country are you referring to?
Countries where terrorist are living, especially the ISIS.

I see the point of yours, if we want to be a cashless society then we should not be having a decentralized one, on this case best if we use the digital payments method.
That's what I mean, not because people will choose that, but it's because we have a government that will be more effective if things are centralized since they can monitor things easily and they can implement the right approach.
3180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 26, 2020, 06:21:41 AM
I care more about the 9th to 11th seed if there will be an adjusted number of games.
Like in this case, 70.
Blazers, Pelicans and Kings are on that position where they are still aiming for a spot in the playoffs.

This will be a big decision for the NBA management.
Consider everything as much as possible.
Fairness is a must, ask the teams if they agree with the new plan.

Correct as I also point out before.

It's not that easy, like other sayings that once NBA resumed the season, they should go straight into playoffs. They just literally wasted those team efforts at the bottom fighting for the playoffs spot. We are talking about the remaining 20 or fewer games here and that is really crucial. Every game matters.

I'd rather see a no post-season 2019-20 activity or delay the 2020-21 season rather than end the current season now and head to playoffs.

According to JJ Redick they talked about it on podcast of "the ringer" that those top 6 teams are good and safe to play at playoffs. However, the 7th and 8th seeds would be still contested by those top 7 to 12 teams. And top 13-15 teams woule be out of the season.

Source: JJ Redick (just a rumor that he heard).

We should wait until there is a full announcement, but this rumor could be true as the top 6 would easily go in the playoffs and usually the competition is just from 7-8 and below,.. well, whatever the decision is, I know it will be fair and the season has to be resume soon.

Time flies if we will be in the playoffs when NBA resume, time for betting again and I am pretty sure the bookies will have an overload of profit since most people now are just staying at home and they are just waiting for a live televise sports that they can bet on, and NBA is a big market.
