For me, I would like to see more merchants willing to accept cryptocurrency payments, but I will not use cryptocurrency for payment.
I don't understand this, why do you want merchants to accept bitcoin when you are not ready to spend it to buy their products?

If you simply want them to adopt because the prices are going to be increased when it happens then at some point the bubble will burst.  Anyhow when companies starts accepting then majority will spend on it then it will help the adoption not you buddy!
3182  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bank Account frozen by Cyber Cell due to P2P Trading (India) on: August 11, 2021, 07:45:16 PM
Not only in India, the problem exists in most of the countries and traders are losing their money after months and years later s they don't even know where to start and which trade went wrong.

I made some strong points about avoiding such scammers a long way back but the same points can be helpful even now.

Here are the something things you should do if you don't want to get into any trouble.

  • Avoid trading with unverified accounts (accounts didn't verified their real name on LBC site).
  • Avoid trading newly registered accounts and low trading volumed accounts.
  • While you creating ads click check box of Real name required,ID verification required.
  • Have low trade limit of high risky payment method.
  • Never release btc before getting payment receipt (which is the only thing can help you to appeal against completed trade to LBC customer support).

3183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Think about the "decentralization" of bitcoin from seven different aspects on: August 11, 2021, 06:59:48 PM

Yes, in my opinion, many people don't know how Bitcoin works, but they are still using Bitcoin. Here, I share some deeper knowledge in order to communicate with you in different knowledge systems. Regarding the technical issues of Bitcoin, there are already many experts here, and they are all selflessly helping everyone in the forum. When I write these articles, I am more inclined to think from philosophical thinking. Although it is difficult to understand many times, I think these thoughts are still very valuable.

Lets keep the forum members aside, have you every thought teaching about bitcoin to someone who you know personally, if you got success then you are helping with the adoption. Even I do it sometimes but most of them refuse my statement and they will simply call bitcoin as fake money and it is going to zero even many economical experts used to say that.

Yes, for the past three or four years, I have been introducing Bitcoin to my friends. And helped many friends to buy Bitcoin for the first time. However, most of my friends did not insist on holding Bitcoin. Some friends sell it when they make a little money, and some friends sell it when they lose money. When I gradually understood this, I found that it is difficult for me to help others make investment decisions. Because no matter what causes them to lose money, they will complain on me. In my opinion, the main reason is that they don't understand Bitcoin, they don't have a system to learn Bitcoin, and they don't understand the logic of Bitcoin's long-term appreciation. This is why I write these articles now, to share the underlying logic and philosophical thinking of Bitcoin with more friends.

Atleast someone will get benefit from the article if they are really keen to learn something, I will also share this article on my public feed so people will have access to it, but my concern is why they are not ready to accept it? They never question the government why you keep printing money and giving us the loans then make money out of it but they shoot that bitcoin is hackers money, the money comes from single click of a button, blah blah...
3184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Crashes in History on: August 11, 2021, 05:14:29 PM
Negative people only see the crashes but positive people see the opportunity to make money while investing when the price crashes and be patient until the next phase of bull run begins. In the next cycle people will be speculating that price of BTC crashed below 100K so never ever invest on it. Roll Eyes
3185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Secure your private keys on: August 11, 2021, 04:40:00 PM
Yeah its a good advice but when someone's portfolio reaches few thousand follars then hardware wallets are compulsory to have which has encrypted private keys so better security.
I wouldn't go as far as saying that they are compulsory or a must-have device, but they are useful and offer a good combination of security and ease of use. The private keys stay offline and are only used during the transaction signing process. However, you can get even better security if you reformat a secondary pc or laptop, install Linux on it, physically remove network cards and antennas, and use it with an open-source wallet such as Electrum or Bitcoin Core. That device would only be used to sign transactions while everything else can be done and checked on other online machines. Encrypt the hard drive with a good encryption software and you are all set.
Using airgapped wallet gives the ultimate security but it will become more complicated if we want to make transactions more often or wants to save other cryptos than bitcoin especially the tokens.

Personally I bricked lot of harddrives due to physical damage and few of them lost due to the short circuit and other electronic failures but with hardwae wallets we can reduce the physical damage or atleast me. Cheesy

Sharing your token implies don't keep all your funds in the same wallet right?

3187  Other / Meta / Re: We need a new global moderator. on: August 11, 2021, 02:43:51 PM
Why should I continue to waste hours of my time, which is far more valuable than that of a chronic spammer's, continuing to report these users, when they receive literally zero punishment?

Maybe it’s a matter of who moderates the posts, because I have pretty good experiences with the ones I reported for spam. I have been following three profiles (1, 2, 3) that spam one-line posts for a long time, and since 5 days ago I see that all three are inactive - BPIP does not show a ban, but it is possible that it is a temp ban. I know these things are time-consuming, but it makes more sense to me to sacrifice a few minutes of time each day than to ignore everything.
AFAIK, user receives temp ban only when their post got deleted in mass number lets say 50 or above, to increase the quality of the forum the number can be decreased upto 5 times so when someone receives 10 good reports against them then it is better to impose a temp ban just as the above suggestion says. But there are also people claims that their posts are getting reports just for personal vengeance against them so its kind of confusing as well. Roll Eyes
3188  Other / Meta / Re: We need a new global moderator. on: August 11, 2021, 12:50:05 AM
Probably we can see someone new if the existing moderators and global mods can't handle the number of reports are getting generated so they don't have time to handle all of them but until now there is no such thing happened even I remember that theymos mentioned that he is not interested to hire anymore staff for this forum a long way back.
3189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Work To Learn And Not To Earn. on: August 11, 2021, 12:16:14 AM
Forum is just a place to share our knowledge and gain information from others but since this forum has signature campaign and allows anyone who meet the requirements can earn made it to be a earning site over the actual reason of existence.

Knowledge is wealth, so learn as much as you can then you can make as much as you can from the knowledge you gathered.
3190  Economy / Economics / Re: Why would people ever use bitcoin if its expected to always go up? on: August 10, 2021, 07:08:24 PM
I couldn't put the full title in the subject line due to character restrictions, but here is the full question:
If bitcoin was fully adopted into everyday life, why would it ever be used for day-to-day transactions if the general consensus was that the price would always appreciate?

After reading several posts on this forum many people seem to think that Bitcoin will always go up. If this were to be the case, why would people spend Bitcoin at all? In this theoretical time, wouldn't it just be a poor financial decision to do?

Or is it thought that in this future where there is widespread adoption the price would stop being so volatile and for the most part stabilize?
If everyone adopted the bitcoin and using it for day to day usage then the price is not going to increase anymore, it will only increase according to the population growth of this world but its a very gradual process so it won't be a noticeable one like now.

But I never thought about bitcoin is the only currency used by everyone in this world because its not possible and the actual blockchain can't handle such huge number of transactions.
3191  Economy / Economics / Re: Central bank digital currency will improve the use cases and value of Bitcoin on: August 10, 2021, 05:22:46 PM
I don't think government is making any changes in ther policies to give better monetary policies but all they are doing is regulating it as assets and imposing huge taxes so people can avoid using it just the same concept of using cigarette and alcohol, the high taxes means the government is discouraging the usage.
3192  Economy / Economics / Re: When debt is an asset on: August 10, 2021, 04:53:09 PM
Call me a traditionalist ... but if you want a roof over your head... and you cannot afford it... then you have a choice, namely :

Rent a house : Give money to a landlord (someone else) and never own property.
Borrow the Money : Take out the mortgage and pay the interest and own your own property. (Asset)

I own my house... I paid it off way earlier than what I should have, because I paid much more than what was required from the mortgage payments.  (Best decision I have ever made)  Wink
It depends on the location as well, nowadays most people ended up with long term loan while the actual value of the property is very less. Even I support the buy house over the rent but the user should consider the location, interest rate and their potential of bringing income until the mortgage ends and much more.
3193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where is the source of value and credit support for Bitcoin? on: August 10, 2021, 03:46:26 PM
The national legal tender is issued by the government, and the value of the currency is ultimately tied to the country’s credit.

When someone has the ultimate controlling power then they become the God and we all became their slaves that is where the financial freedom lack from that government keeps printing the money and decreasing the actual value of money while increasing the supply every year.

But bitcoin is against such thing, it is expected to provide the users the ultimate freedom but it doesn't mean they can use it for violating the laws and even if they violates it they can never erase the traces because everything is being stored in the public ledger so called blockhain.

3195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Think about the "decentralization" of bitcoin from seven different aspects on: August 10, 2021, 07:54:16 AM
The decentralization of Bitcoin means that its issuance and circulation are not restricted by the central control, but the distributed recording and storage of data is realized through the network system. Let everyone have their own account data on the entire network, and everyone will keep the accounts together to ensure the accuracy and security of the data.
Its decentralized nature also breaks the monopoly of the central government or other institutions, and controls personal assets by itself.

Yes, this is the change that Bitcoin brings to our human society. We are now discussing Bitcoin extensively every day, but most of the content we currently discuss is mainly limited to the technical level and the currency application level. There are still relatively few in-depth discussions about Bitcoin on the forum. In this article, I think about Bitcoin's decentralization thought from 7 different angles. I always believe that the ideas behind Bitcoin are always the most important and valuable. We need to explore our sea of stars under the guidance of Bitcoin thought.

Teaching about the depth of bitcoin to the community is important but first we need to teach about the money to the people since 90% of the population doesn't know how it works still they are using it everyday and working for it all their life. Bitcoin is not created to make anyone to rich or to stabilize the economy of a country buts its actually created to eliminate the third-party who controls our money.
3196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reading is more important than replying on: August 09, 2021, 02:02:08 PM
Reading let you to gather new information but only replying will share the knowledge to others if they don't know it and there is a famous quote "keeping the knowledge for yourself is a greatest sin".

But reply only it its needed and "keep it simple" so others can understand it better!
3197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivates you to start investing in cryptocurrency? on: August 06, 2021, 04:35:32 PM
My cousin has been in the cryptocurrency investment for very long and I guess since 2014, but I didn't know the potential of cryptocurrencies at that time, if I started investing by that time then now I maybe a billionaire now. Tongue

It's really easy to say "if I invest in 201x I could be a billionaire now" if you only look at the price multiplier. But in fact, you likely could've just panic sold when bitcoin dropped from $600 to $200. And especially if you're a beginner with investing at that time, it definitely might have been the case. Heck, even I could've probably panic sold.
Just for the fun fact but there is no regret for not investing in the earliest days because I found BTC is an asset must be in our portfolio atleast a bit later. Yeah, even if we invested in the early stage we might cash out when we see the price hike up 10x in a year or two but I am not kind of panic seller because I invested at higher price in 2018 but never got panic even when price reached 2018, I just cash out only when I need money and keep adding the BTC whenever I have money to invest since I believe compounding can also make us a billionaire. Wink
3198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivates you to start investing in cryptocurrency? on: August 06, 2021, 03:15:39 PM
For bitcoin specifically, simply because I believe in the separation of money and state. The government has more than enough power, so I'm personally for a currency that no single entity one has control over.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Couple in pseudonymity, self-sovereignty, and a solid unchangeable inflation schedule, then Bitcoin is the perfect "investment".

3199  Economy / Economics / Re: Enjoy comunism (II): Venezuela to cut 6 zeros from its currency on: August 06, 2021, 08:25:01 AM
Inflation exists on both democratic and communist nations, and these hyper inflation happened due to the utter rate of corruption by the government and poor monetary policies, cutting down the zeros may not bring any effect in the valuation of their currency and introduction of CBDC also is similar to the shit as their fiat. Better if they move to a decentralized asset like bitcoin and accept it as legal tender.
3200  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to synchronize your electrum PC wallet with its android application on phone on: August 06, 2021, 07:24:42 AM
Hello, I wanted to know about electrum, how to synchronize your wallet created on your PC with your smartphone on the android version of the software ?

Download Electrum from playstore then follow my steps:

Create new wallet == I already have the seed == {enter the seed}

That's it, your wallet from your PC will be completely accessible from the mobile application itself.
