3181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $50k before Xmas on: September 14, 2015, 10:41:47 PM
What was the point of bumping this thread? Was there any need or was it just for increasing post counts? Weird.
Sometimes is a good idea to look at past predictions. Personally I think we will see 5 figures, but not this Xmas. It may take at least 2 halvings, and then we'll see about that. It's perfectly possible that a x1000 buy rush happen. Most people are still so unaware of Bitcoin is just ridiculous. Once old moat drops it's weight we can see Bitcoin's tiny marketcap explode.
3182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: a Place to discuss Bitcoin in Canada on: September 14, 2015, 10:38:56 PM
I remember reading about Voat. What is it exactly, like a reddit ripoff? whats so different about it?
I remember reading it would run under the Bitcoin blockchain or something, but never found the details about how would this actually be done.
3183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: currency or investment? on: September 14, 2015, 10:23:52 PM
Bitcoin is e-gold that has features of cash too.
I treat it myself as internet or might I say, digital gold. You buy it because you understand the technology behind it, you buy it because you understand for the first time ever scarcity has been designed in a digital way, you buy it because you know in the future its purchasing power will visit moon.
And at the same time, I could get some of it and buy some starbucks coffee (something you will never be able to do with gold and whatnot).
3184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's call XT as Gavincoin just to get it's official altcoin tag out. GVC. on: September 14, 2015, 10:07:12 PM
Gavin did a great job because he pushed the blocksize problem in the spotlight before it is too late. now we have to make a decision.

there is already damage because of that artificial 1MB limit:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1180263.0

It's not artificial. If you raise the blocksize and people can't run their own nodes on their own computers the decentralization of Bitcoin is done, you can kiss goodbye. Centralized nodes and centralized mining means Bitcoin becomes just Visa 2.0.
We need to raise the blocksize eventually yes, but not in a ridiculous way that would ruin bitcoin node decentralization.
3185  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Who has been affected by stress test already? on: September 12, 2015, 08:52:50 PM
Unaffected Bitcoin user here. I have been doing some transactions through September, not a single one went on a delay or got stuck. I am happy to say that if you pay the standard fee as suggested by Bitcoin Core wallet, nothing wrong will happen even under heavy attack scenario. I have heard a lot of people having problems tho.
3186  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: $$460 in 2017 on: September 12, 2015, 08:50:41 PM
People is being so pessimistic with their predictions lately. Cmon guys 3 figures it's too low for 2 years. Bitcoin is insanely underrated, one would hope that society will be not be stupid enough to not pick up with the inevitable superior tech that Bitcoin is, so im aiming for 4 figures, I dont know if 1000 or 9999, but 4 for sure.
3187  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: September 12, 2015, 08:15:28 PM
As long as Bitcoin XT is along the way, Bitcoin will die (if it turns out a success)  Smiley

Bitcoin XT is already a thing of the past. Everyone is looking at BIPs to change Core but not at XT. Everyone want sto stay with Core no matter what. XT has rendered itself a massive failure and just a failed trojan horse attack. Let's hope that in the meeting to scale Bitcoin we can come to some conclusion.
3188  Economy / Economics / Re: They want my dna, urine samples to buy Bitcoins In the USA on: September 12, 2015, 07:59:34 PM
When I first got into bitcoin, about 6 or 7 months ago I decided to make a trade face to face in LocalBitcoins, although the trade went fine, I felt as if I was doing something wrong when I wasn’t so all this regulations seem to me to be over the top.

Well, it depends on how much money you exchanged. If he was paying you a big amount, then it was most certainly a crime because I think it's illegal to do exchanges of money that go after X amount untaxed (again im not sure, I have never done big exchanges of cash money and probably depends on the country) and the thing is with Bitcoin you could trade millions if the guy had millions in cash to give to you.
3189  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Krugman doing to Bitcoin what he did to oil? on: September 12, 2015, 07:57:12 PM
Genius and against bitcoin are opposite terms.

1) Genius
2) Anti-Bitcoin

Pick one. Specially as an economist. If he can't see the actual genius behind Bitcoin and if he can't see the endless disruption that it is going to do once things start rolling in the next decade, he just yet another former genius that goes from "genius" to failed prophet.
3190  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Migration crisis: Germany presses Europe into sharing refugees on: September 12, 2015, 07:55:02 PM
Looks like Hungary is being punished with the influx of "migrants" by you-know-who for not towing the party line.

Orban is heavily criticised by Germany and EU for protecting Hungarian interests and trying to keep "migrants" in check.

Does this look like migrants? And how did this army turn up virtually in the centre of Europe en mass?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhLqUY1OZ_M

At the same time Hungary is buying at frantic speed a big wall to stop more migrants from coming. AT the end of the day I think we can't blame them at all. I mean what would you do other than run away from your country and try to find the best outcome? Im not just justifying the mindless endless acceptation of them until we run out of space and resources, I just say I understand them and dont blame them.
3191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto PLEASE resolve this debate? 1MB blockstream vs 8MB Gavin Blocks on: September 12, 2015, 07:51:38 PM
Bitcoin is all about consensus and decentralization.

Why are you asking for Satoshi comes back and decide it like the ultimate instance of apelation?

Unfortunately it seems most people are biologically wired to obey orders from totalitarian leaders, thats why the fiat scam is such a success that keeps surviving a crisis after another, it's no secret why dollar is king no matter how much it hyperinflates.
3192  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: CoinFest UK on: September 12, 2015, 07:47:46 PM
I think the best giveaway you can give for Bitcoiners is Bitcoin. Look at the IBM "its raining Bitcoin" thing that they did, it was a massive success. So get a decent giveaway of Bitcoin going and you'll keep people going back every year.
If you can't afford this its understandable tho but it just works lol.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scaling Bitcoin Above 3 Million TX pre block on: September 12, 2015, 07:46:27 PM
I think compression of blocks was already addressed by gmaxwell in here but i can't find the actual facts. In any case if this hasn't been considered as teh end all be all solutions agains the blocksize problem im sure there are drawbacks, so im pretty sure we will end up needing bigger blocks and blockstream type of tech anyway.
3194  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: September 12, 2015, 07:34:11 PM
The best investment option involving Bitcoin is.... Bitcoin itself. Bitcoin was originally intended to be a currency. But nowadays, it is mostly behaving as an investment asset. And I would advice every one to stay out of the other Bitcoin-linked investment options, such as crypto-stocks. Most of these schemes are ponzis, run by conmen.
This, but OP is probably asking about some alternative besidesj ust holding BTC. Personally one of my favorite picks is Maidsafe. I love the philosophy, I love the project, and i love the already showcased technology. It's real and it's and it's happening. The testnet is already working. Amazing stuff. It's way better than Ethereum if you do your research.

I still get this:

"No more slots are avaible at the moment !"

Can you manually add me to the campaign?
Also why there isn't a google spreadsheet to keep track of past payments?

I have been waiting since then.

The bot says im still not added, waiting for OP to solve the problem so I can be added manually.
Spots are officially closed but some of us are in when OP adds us manually (see the previous pages posts)

I want to join, let's test if I show up on the bot.
Edit: Fuck, it says "no more slots available at the moment". And now i've lost my spot on the campaign I was at... lame.

You need to make a google spreadsheet to see a history of past payments and you need to make the bot show up how many spots are left so we don't risk losing our current spot in another signature campaign.

Im gonna remove the signature because its useless to have it on if im not accepted. Tell me hen there are slots again or reserve me one so I can put the signature back.
