there was a time today where i couldn't get access to the site for quite some time. not the first time that this is happening. probably a ddos again.

would be nice to have a sticky thread in this section too, so people know how things ragarding ranks and activity work. currently it's only in the meta section.

bitcoin has less full node holders, that's probably why. or probably since the Mt. Gox scam incident, people started to quit bitcoin. i am a bitcoiner since 2010/2011, i know bitcoin well, i am studying more about bitcoin.
well, a lot people started to invest in bitcoin due to stories such as; some one finds out his 1000 bitcoins he bought for $0,02 per coin are now worth $700k. as soon as they noticed it's too late for such gains, and due to buying at the ath, they left.

staying above $300 isn't easy, especially when people don't seem to be willing to protect that level. my thought for this year is $250-$300.

Widespread euphoria.
Multiple failures to stay above 300.
We're going up eventually, but it's time to be patient.
do you think the uprise will be long? don't know, but will take long to revert the bear market and won't be without resistance. The market inertia is too big right now to quick moves this up and down trend will continue probably this entire year. can't see anything change it unless there is major news shaking up things.

Funny seeing all the topics appearing in this forum with CRASH!!! it wasn't a crash i think 'correction' sounds better . You'll know it's a crash when it's happening.
people here have too much free time it seems. when bitcoin goes down a few bucks plenty of threads pop up with 'crash' 'sell now!' and more nonsense.

down we go...? maybe you were right mate, let's see what happen
even if it does go down, not a problem. as soon as bitcoin is nearing the block halving we will see a steady growth. cheap bitcoins today means buy now.

pretty nice indeed. it will get even more interesting when the Winki ETF launches.
I just hope they will launch it soon since it seems that we are waiting on it forever. I am sure this will boost Bitcoin upwards. What is the latest status on their ETF? Are there any news? everything is still in progress. no new news, we can only wait and hope they launch it in a slow manner but in the right way, instead of launching it fast but with a lot problems.

If bitcoin goes mainstream , it will be fun. Just imagine paying for everything via bitcoin , sounds too good
sounds fantastic, but it will take a good amount of years will we ever see global adoption. we need patience and support bitcoin by buying things with it.

With China accounting for 80% of it all trading volume, and Huobi leading the way, how could someone think anywhere else on the globe is the "Bitcoin Capitol of the world"?
china will only get more involved in bitcoin than it already is. so it's fair to say that china is the most important place as far as bitcoin goes.

of course i would still care about bitcoin. participating in a sig campaign gives you an extra bonus for what you would do anyway. and that's posting.

that's beyond insane. you definitely feel rich if you have that much paper money, but as soon as you hear the value in usd you will get shocked.

|

people put their trust and focus too much in graphs. some times it is a good indicator, but take some distance from it to do your own market research and keep an eye at the news.

The posibilities of breaking this years ATH are high, the price is holding steady at a 250+ territory, right now we are on a pump again and we'll be 280 when we wake up. In fact coinjar already reached 280 and surpassed it. It's obvious 300+ territory awaits us rather sooner than later and probably before summer ends.
it's not that easy as it looks. i think we must be very happy to reach and stay above $300 this year. at this point every attempt to do so has failed.

i think you should do a bit more research in what bitcoin xt really is, before opening a nonsense thread. then you know what i mean.

yeah. i have had the 'bad gateway' error message several times today when trying to reach bitcointalk. probably a ddos attack.

Probably not, I believe there are still options available for NY residents.
One of the reasons why they ditched NY is it isn't cost effective, so those exchanges didn't have many users there.
the amount of ny users were too low to take the effort required to stay operative there. so indeed it won't do much harm for their volume.

Whether it was strictly a "double top" or not, it was a failure to stay above a key level.
When we go above 300 on low volume and high leverage, it's non-commital. Until we do it with volume, I will always be preparing for breakdown.
Exactly. A fragile run up is not what we need. Those are ALWAYS follows by dumps/crashes. If you are a whale and know when to get in and out you're fine. But the latest run up was pure speculation, no real demand behind it. Yes. We're not ready for $300. How many rejections do people need to see before they understand that? Let the ecosystem develop a bit more. as long as people are invested in bitcoin they like to have certain fantasies about the price going through the roof. they forget to be realistic and look at the current market.

i think $350 as a max is a fairly reasonable prediction. don't think it will go much higher than that as there isn't a reason for it.
|
|
|
it was a matter of time. if even bitfinex isn't willing to do the extra effort needed, then kraken surely won't. not that big of a deal.
