A forum newbie (markt. Kreation) wanted to contribute to this contest, but he can't post out of the newbie area yet, so I figured I'd help him out. You can see his post and logo submission here:

Hi,

I'm here to earn some BTC in exchange of the things I can do in the programming and graphical design area. I have C++ knowledge and I can also work well with PHP. If I can do something for you, just let me know.

By the way.. I'm trying to participate in a logo creation contest which was started in a sub forum that I cannot post to. It's called 1,5 BTC logo design contest I think.. and here is mine:

Thanks.

I'll forward the info to that forum for you...
323  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Bumper Stickers on: June 15, 2013, 07:35:00 PM

Looks like you know you're bumper stickers Wink. I'm thinking it's made from cheap materials, considering the price. 0.04BTC is 4 USD.($2.95 on amazon) I have researched all of this before, because I was going to create magnets, bumper stickers and T-shirts. But, it would of cost me quite a lot to ship internationally and would have to charge a bit (I went for the best quality items though). SO, I would say these are made pretty cheaply, just wait to hear reviews on amazon I guess, see if they do depreciate over time.

Well, I'm not an expert on screen printing, but I've worked in the offset-printing business for 25 years. And I developed an adhesive-based product a few years ago that helped me learn more about adhesives. But this is the first time I've seen a product that is fine for use on anything except windows. Bottom line for me is, if it's marketed as a bumper sticker, it should be screen-printed (or more-espensive cut vinyl), otherwise it's just not as durable against fading and outdoor elements (especially colors that use red).

I too got quotes on screen printing stickers that look like these (but smaller). But I ended up moving ahead with a different Bitcoin novelty product that I'm excited about (I'll be talking about it plenty once I have them in hand). Doing my research, I've looked at a lot of Bitcoin novelties out there, and the biggest problem from my perspective is that it seems some people try to go the cheap route (I'm sure, to avoid risking too much money). However, I think a high-quality products (at a fair price) is the goal what one should strive for, when creating products to sell to Bitcoiners.

Yeah, all the stickers which I have had & custom made. Have always been able to stick to glass and most other materials. Maybe the seller should consider looking into this more, so it's a larger target audience. The only reason I could think of not having it on glass is that it leaves marks when taken off. Hopefully the seller will be able to give us some input.

Quality bumper stickers are screen printed (typically rated to last for years without fading), but there's no mention of how these were made. If they were offset-printed, they are a lot cheaper to produce, but the ink probably will fade quickly with a lot of sun exposure. I'd hate to put a 5" sticker on my car, have it fade in a couple of months ("fade resistant" is hard to quantify), then have it leave residue on my car's paint (which is why a car window is my preferred location, as you can always use a razor blade to remove even the most adhesive material completely -- can't do that on car paint).

Also, seems thrucoin.com doesn't load... Yet another BTC biz gone by the waste side, I assume?

Damn, I went from the biggest support of this sticker at first look (assuming the best), to a very skeptical buyer (now assuming the worst). I probably should have just bought one, since they aren't expensive.

Jeepney, please let us know more details about your bumper stickers!

It's a weird limitation. I've worked with a lot of adhesives, and I'd like to know more about why this bumper sticker won't work on glass (does it fall right off? does it just not adhere as well as one would hope?). Would be good to have the seller's input.
326  Economy / Services / Re: [Wanted] A blog post on your website on: June 15, 2013, 04:25:46 PM
Hello, I have a website that I made and I just want to get it indexed by search engines (it's a bitcoin related website) so if anyone has a bitcoin related blog and can write a small post about it or link it in a normal post that would be awesome.  I can pay according to how much traffic you get.  The higher your PR the better.
Post your site. You never know, if people see a value in it, you'll get links and other mentions due to merit (and you won't have to pay anything)!

How did I never see this thread before (stupid forum search)? Nice work! The Amazon price is really good, too (as a seller of products on Amazon, I know they take a huge bite when they fulfill a low-priced product like this).

I wish you success, and I'm ordering now.

[edit]

Oh, wait... On Amazon it says the sticker isn't compatible with glass? I've never heard of that for a bumper sticker. Now I want to ask, can you say how these were created? I was assuming they were screen-printed on standard sticker material, but now I'm having doubts...

So you don't have to click outside the forum, here are a couple of my favorite for-hire layouts I created using 3D software, Photoshop, & Illustrator (note that I did not create the logo in the KROQ Weenie Roast layout):

Looks nice! Does the 1BTC denomination mean you're planning to load these with spendable coin? Or is there a way for the end user to do so? Or is this a collectible coin you just decided to put a value on?

I know right. I only found it today and must admit, I think my online life is complete  Grin
Like Bitcoin doesn't distract me enough from my day job... Now I'll be distracted from Bitcoin while I'm distracted from work.

333  Economy / Goods / Re: BTC Promo - Vinyl Sticker Set on: June 11, 2013, 08:23:52 PM
Hi,

I am discussing with Littleshop maybe he can re-sell them in the USA in his webshop - this would make shipping costs much cheaper. I am searching for better/cheaper postal services but havenīt found some yet so I think some USA reseller would be good - had a lot of PMīs about this topic from different people.

I am shipping tomorrow first of my sticker sets to clients and "nice" people of the forum. So I hope in a few days you should have reviews!

Good idea. You also might want to look into a sticker pack selection that fits in a regular envelope, so you can just send them as an international letter (cheap to send, you can sneak by with no time-consuming customs declarations, and you simply let the buyer take the risk of non-delivery if they wish to save on shipping costs)... At least I've seen that tactic used successfully on USA stuff sent internationally.

Does the video at this link really prove to you smart people that manipulation was at play recently?

(I'll also asked this on another thread I was participating on)

Now that's a good tip! But now I can't plead ignorant when I post something that's already been rehashed a dozen times.
337  Other / Off-topic / Re: How old are you? on: June 11, 2013, 06:26:57 PM

Thanks, sometimes it seems searching doesn't show me what I'm looking for.
338  Other / Off-topic / Re: How old are you? on: June 11, 2013, 05:51:55 PM
I attended a Bitcoin meetup and felt everyone was about my age. But then looking at photos of the even, and hearing some people's ages, I realized I was one of the older people in the group (I'm in my mid-40s). Let's see polling says...

It's bizarre that we both posted this poll so close in time. Either there's a cosmic link connecting our minds, or maybe this question is asked regularly, so it's not really very coincidental...

Looks like the sample size is still too small to get much out of it, since our poll results aren't in sync. Hopefully more people will vote (on either of our polls) so we can see what's up.

Got it! Coin will go out tomorrow sir.

Ordered Thursday Night, coin shipped Friday, received Monday via USPS Priority Mail with tracking. Coin came in a clear protective case. I also received tracking information when the coin shipped.

I'm thrilled to have my first physical Bitcoin, and very happy how quickly it arrived. Thanks for being so professional with your business!
