321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are lightweight wallets less secure then traditional wallets? on: September 02, 2017, 08:49:27 PM
I could be wrong, but I believe their security is about the same. The most secure would be paper wallet. Just be careful of which wallet you're getting, because some programs could be malicious. Do some research and decide if that wallet is best for you before putting money in it.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Message to the guys, that didn't buy when BTC was worth 100$ on: September 02, 2017, 10:01:05 AM
Hopefully it continues to reach massive returns and doesn't end up being a giant bubble. Just over a short period of time it has grown to be over 20% of my networth. Absolutely incredible.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest threats to Bitcoin prices in next 12 months on: September 01, 2017, 07:23:36 AM
Governments making laws that forbid Bitcoin. Also if the community ends up so divided that no good decisions are made. Bitcoin needs to grow and if people in the development can't decide on what to do there will be chaos. If Bitcoin hits mainstream before Bitcoin is ready then people's faith in it could fall apart.
324  Economy / Exchanges / Is Poloniex trustworthy? on: August 31, 2017, 06:24:18 AM
So I signed up for a Poloniex account, but they want my SSN, picture of ID, and other stuff. If there was ever a security breach someone could steal my identity. So a part of me is thinking "meh, why bother." Another part of me wants to sell some of my BCH and possibly purchase Ripple. It could also come in handy in the future.

Is Poloniex trustworthy?
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree that a future where a clone-coin over-takes Bitcoin is not good? on: August 31, 2017, 06:18:29 AM
Well, looking at this from a selfish point of view... YES! Why, because I'd lose money. If another coin takes over, Bitcoins true potential would never be realized and could even possibly go down.

I really like the concept of Bitcoin, but I'm beginning to think that Ripple might be the one that lasts. This may shock some people, because it doesn't seem to get a lot of buzz on here. Ripple is centralized and backed by banks. Also, Ripple's transactions are super quick while Bitcoins are much longer and far more expensive.

Bitcoin has a lot of shady press about it being tied with the black market. Ripple doesn't have that same reputation. Ripple is more boring and reliable. Most of the world likes boring and reliable rather than new and unexpected. Ripple might end up winning in the end.  Cry

That being said, I own Bitcoin and not any Ripple. I'm debating on getting Ripple, but meh.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This just in, Donald Trump is the man behind Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 31, 2017, 05:28:27 AM
I tried open the link to verify the news, but the page says "Fastly error: unknown domain: www.bitcoinmagazine.com. Please check that this domain has been added to a service."
But, as long as Trump or anyone don't sign message on bitcoin address which mined genesis block or any blocks is very early days, then they're fake.

The article is satire.

I added the smiley face  Grin to adhere to poe's law.

By the way, this was more challenging to create than I initially thought. It was bit of a struggle trying to figure out how Trump would describe Bitcoin if he were to explain it. Also, trying to figure out how Trump would react in the instance of drunk Craig White interrupting the interview. Over all, I am pleased that I did a convincing job. Sorry if anyone thought this was real. I put the smiley face at the end so you all would know that it was satire.

Hahaha.. I haven't read such a great satire article for quite some time. BTW... Donald Trump can never create Bitcoin. Doing so requires a minimum amount of intelligence, which he seems to be lacking at.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Smiley
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your basic requirements to do bitcoin/altcoin job? on: August 31, 2017, 05:05:32 AM
I don't understand how you people think Bitcoin is a job? It isn't. You bought Bitcoin and it grew in value. That is not a job. A job is where you work.

It is interesting though. I invested in Bitcoin before the August split and it was amazing how it doubled. Then I thought back to all those hours I spent at work. Comparing the two is mind boggling, because seeing how much I made in comparison to how much I worked is incredible. My greedy inner self was thinking, if only I had invested more I would have made more in those few days than all of my 6 months at this job.

I'll answer my own topic,

I'm using Low-end Laptop and a 4G-LTE broadband for bitcoin/jobs and I think it's okay enough for having those and start finding or participate in any for getting bitcoins or other cryptocurrency. Since I don't have jobs and penniless even today because I don't have higher educational attainment or I'm still in high school graduate, I'm start working on this bitcoin signature campaign since I was a newbie and good thing I earn more than 2x-3x than my sister salary who working on water public service, a government job (Only my sister has the highest salary in 6 family siblings including me, but not today sister  Tongue) and sooner she will promoted due to his very good performance.

You can share yours when do you start doing bitcoin jobs and what things you need to do it. Smiley

~Franz
You know you are just like me. Right now I am at grade 12 this year and I am earning a lot more than my sister and my brother's salaries. And it is added also in my pride having nice income like out of nowhere right? And right now, my mom is praising me and not letting me wash the dishes because of my income

This is cool, but also kind of made me sad for some reason. I don't know. Your mom did the dishes for you, because you made more money than your siblings by not working and got rewarded by not having to work. It is as if she is rewarding you for your financial success rather than some achievement, fulfilling a passion, or contributing to society.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: So successful it needs to be changed? on: August 31, 2017, 04:34:01 AM
I don't understand enough about the technology to know what specifically needs to be done to Bitcoin to keep it going, but it for sure needs to change. The guy in the article was saying that the Bitcoin developers need to try harder and that those who want to change it lack vision. However, he doesn't offer a solution. Sometimes things need to change when you can't accomplish your goals with the own rules you've made. In this case, you have either two options. Lower your goals or change the rules.

Bitcoin transactions are too slow and expensive this definitely needs to change if Bitcoin is to survive.

At this time there aren't very many real-world uses for Bitcoin. It is great for online gambling and certain payment types to multiple people (signature campaigns).
329  Other / Off-topic / Can we stop the hodl cult... please? on: August 30, 2017, 08:57:31 AM
Okay, so people have been spelling hold wrong on purpose saying hodl and it is diving me nuts! I don't know why people are doing it other than the fact that some guy posted something and didn't correct his spelling mistake. I guess a couple people thought it was funny and joked about it, but that was a long time ago. Honestly, I never found it that amusing to begin with. It is the same as when people in the poker community were saying "I had trips". It was so irking.

I guess I will probably have to end up suffering the hodl cult for many years down the road. I wonder if some of the people posting "hodl" even know where it came from or if they are just mindlessly following the hodl cult.

Perhaps this thread could possibly upset some of you, but this day was coming and you knew it. You knew it hodl cult. You knew. You all thought you could get away with this terrible grammatical error and no one would stand up and fight.

So for the rest of you who have secretly crept in the Bitcoin shadows and hated the hodl cult. This is your chance. Your chance to come out and fight. And when you fight, don't do it for your gold, land, or your own materialistic gain. Do it for your brothers and sisters in the Bitcoin community. As a single unit we may be weak, but as an army we are unstoppable! Who's with me! Huh?! Who's with me! Let us end this once and for all!
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when we hit 21,000,000 bitcoins? on: August 30, 2017, 08:39:44 AM
I believe that Bitcoin will adapt with time. There is also the pending danger of deflation which could destroy the global economy. In the long run though, technology will advance to a point where Bitcoin is a completely different thing. In fact, mining might not be necessary at all.
331  Economy / Services / Re: ▄ ▀ GoGoOption Signature Campaign ▄ ▀ (jr member ~ ) on: August 30, 2017, 08:04:02 AM

I am very pleased with the results of the payment. Thank you. I have further great news. I have been promoted from junior member to member on this forum. I shall now update my signature and hope to be promoted on the gogooption spreadsheet.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A totally new approach to the cryptocurrency world by VialCoin on: August 30, 2017, 07:57:44 AM
It appears as though the payment went through. So since it is in the wave wallet is it using the wave blockchain so to speak? Also is there any particular reason why you picked 84 million as the total cap of your coin?

I've read that the mining process for this coin will be different than bitcoin and other altcoins. I'm excited to start mining.  Grin
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it true that bitcoin account in russia is blocked? on: August 30, 2017, 07:13:29 AM
I'm not sure how some of you guys are saying that Russia being blocked wouldn't affect the price of Bitcoin. Russia has roughly 143,375,006 people living in its country. Those are a lot of potential users that could drive up the price. There is also the possibility of other countries following in their footsteps.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the NSA caught Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 29, 2017, 08:51:55 AM
This article seems a bit far fetched. Some random reporter has anonymous sources. Anyone can make a claim with anonymous sources.

Dr. Craig Steven Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto.

"If you don’t believe me or don’t get it, I don’t have time to try to convince you, sorry."

Please, take the time to convince me. Please, I beg of you. Share your vast knowledge with us.

If that happens we will know the real man behind Satoshi Nakamoto, but what if hes only a AI? Could it be worth finding for or what if there groups behind it?

I doubt Satoshi is an AI. AIs aren't that fluent with speech and answering people's questions.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Changing Crypto Market Drastically on: August 29, 2017, 05:08:30 AM
Bitcoin, on the other hand, appears to be stationary at the moment. Seems to be hovering around the $4000 to $4400 range. Hopefully when November comes around it will dip a bit and then shoot up after the fork. Cheesy

I've noticed that the online gambling world is becoming more and more friendly with Bitcoin.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: backup and recovery on: August 28, 2017, 06:42:16 PM
What I would do is open a Coinbase.com account and send bitcoins to that and sell. You should also be careful with the internet, because there are a lot of scam artists that will try to screw you over. Coinbase.com is pretty safe IMO. After selling the coins there, you can withdraw the cash to your bank account.

You can also hold onto them for longer if you think the price of Bitcoin will go up.

Whatever you do, don't rush. If you're not comfortable with what your doing take you're time.
337  Other / Off-topic / Re: BITCOIN TALK USERS MOSTLY ARE??? on: August 28, 2017, 09:03:02 AM
Why is bitcoin resistant or otherwise uninteresting or does not attract many females....

any theories, evidence....?

I think it is because in a lot of ways Bitcoin is sketchy. Nobody knows who the creator is. The movement of money is anonymous. The whole concept of miners seem really weird to newcomers. I know it was weird to me. In fact, it still is weird. The volatility of the price. Women generally like things that are safe and lets face it, Bitcoin is very risky. It could come collapsing down one day, but it could also be something that changes the future. Only time will tell. I believe that women put a higher priority on not getting screwed over than men.

In a poker game a random female is more likely to be a calling station (doesn't like to be fooled) and less likely to be a bluffer (risk adverse) than a random man.

On the TV show golden balls. More females chose steal over split than men. The motivation behind this for a lot of them was fear that their opponent would pick steal and they would feel taken advantage of by picking split.

I signed up. How will I know when I get 100 coins? Is that only available when the fist release of coins come out?
339  Other / Off-topic / Re: BITCOIN TALK USERS MOSTLY ARE??? on: August 28, 2017, 03:43:41 AM
This is the thread where I got those numbers from. Inside the thread there is a huge discussion and a lot of butt hurt people who are like "It isn't accurate wahhhhh" and they may be right, but I don't think so. Take it for what it is worth nevertheless.

I read in a post that there were about 97% males that were into Bitcoin and only 3% were female.

Males tend to gravitate toward more risky behavior as opposed to females. I'd imagine there are also more male computer nerds than female computer nerds.

The guy who posted above me is offended for reasons that I'm not entirely sure of. OP is curious. It isn't sexist, it is just an observation of gender probability.
