321  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE DUMP on: March 03, 2017, 05:29:16 AM
I did not expect this new price rise to happen again this soon. So let us ask _nur again to spend another 2 hours to create another projection on where the price of Bitcoin will be.

This proves my point that the people who like to show off their charting skills are usually amateur traders looking for validation while the real traders are very quiet and are making money.

Presented charts can result into http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herd_behavior which is sometimes dubbed as a self fulfilling prophecy. Forum sentiment so often gets caught up be the quiet ones you mentioned. Deep sea creatures of huge size, so to speak.
Enough reason to give a damn to these charts, trading into the oposite direction.
322  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump survive the first period as president of the US? on: March 03, 2017, 12:40:27 AM
Abraham Lincoln was shot. The Lincoln Memorial beeing iconographic by now. You can't do the same to Trump, the resulting memorial built would damage the city's plot value on a grand scale.

323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver massacred by Johnny (from Blockstream) on: March 02, 2017, 11:23:16 PM
Tiresome, both of them. The whole issue at all. If in a year or two we get bigger blocks AND segwit, how will we look back on this history?
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a headache when I see the price of bitcoin on: March 02, 2017, 11:22:21 PM
Lol. Me too. I had never think the price will touch this point in just short time, I think it would be in in the half of 2017. But yeah, this is what Bitcoin need. If I now this will happen shortly, I will never sell all my BTC.
But, of course, our headache will be more storming if the price rising 30% more in this March.
There could be a doubling in price if the ETF goes through on the 11th of March.

I would not place my bets on that. Just consider for a minute yourself to be a banker, threatened by some strange new sort of competition, some technology based stuff. And then consider if you would support that threat by voting for this to get a leg down into your area of interest.
Yes or no?
They might answer "No".
325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best way to sound proof a room for mining? on: March 02, 2017, 01:36:53 PM
If you are willing to risk the adventurous path you could consider egg trays. Those are bejond "cheap" BUT not exactly that sort of fire resistant material. And your rig WILL puff some smoke one day. Pronounce dust ignition.
Top row on shelf can be plastic water bottles that melt & flow out if something bad happens. There are Liquid Packaging Plastic Bags of higher capacity and lower melting point.

I shouldn't really give hints on dirt cheap DIY stuff anymore.
326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think there is a world government. on: March 02, 2017, 12:33:05 PM
How was it "rigged by a secret government"? The United States is not a pure democracy, and is not run by mob rule. The national popular vote does not matter, and has never mattered, the electoral college is the only thing fair to the majority of the people. Look at this graphic, do you feel the highly populated blue, elitist sections should speak for the entire rest of the United States who voted Trump?

Looks like some map of red russia

edit: maybe better to avoid colors like red and blue or black and white. If you zoom into this map, counting peoples instead of arbitrary borders separating them ... but who would like to do that? Gerrymandering is a fact.
327  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is US election really get hacked? on: March 02, 2017, 12:29:56 PM
I'm sure Trump really won honestly. You can argue about why it happened, but that is another question. Always in the elections has the advantage of the ruling party. So Trump had no chance for fraud. Now actions Trump be more adequate and maybe he has a chance to become a good President.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering is a fact. Just mostly resulting into the ruling parties having an advantage upon new competitors.
Regarding "a good" or "a bad" president from what I can see so far he's highly disputed. That seldom ends well.
328  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Marine Le Pen win? on: March 01, 2017, 06:40:59 PM
I just love how people are actually talking of Le Pen as someone "trustable" while she's clearly used her deep family connexions to get maximum of money she could...

And on the other hand no one here seems to talk about Melanchon and his will to get read of corruption and politics abusing power...

We have ONE candidate who clearly says "I'll give back the power to the people by letting you decide on your constitution" ad no one gives a fuck.
Cool.

Not even his supporters know Jean-Luc Mélenchon's name?

There are no explanatory patterns for this effect. Sanders, Grillo, Melenchon something makes their names disappear. Maybe they invented something water soluble  Cool that causes amnesia on everything leftwing associated.
329  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Marine Le Pen win? on: March 01, 2017, 01:39:42 PM
Today they started shooting at François Hollande supporters at Villognon. But no worries, merely has been the security!

I'm eating my words regarding fascism. Le Pen will win, and we're all boned.
330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So the question is on: March 01, 2017, 10:57:58 AM
I didn't hear the question, but the answer is... the money... it's always about money

Corrupt politicians don't want competition from corrupt gangs... that's their job

+$1  Smiley

Also, it's certainly not his money which makes it easier to spend.

But where remains the difference between a group of ogreish killers taking lives and that public money, run by some capo situated in a slightly corrup political office ...
... and some people trafficking medical supply of sorts and acting almost the same?

From a voter's perspective both aren't first choice in every election.
331  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Negative effects of technology on: March 01, 2017, 10:46:43 AM
Technology is not always a good thing.

One example is with the children.
In the old days, children used to play outside with their friends.
Now majority of them are just staring at their iPads.

That is bad enough, but when you add the long term effect I has on people the results are devastating, obesity is one of the problems that technology has brought to us, no one walks everyone wants to drive their car for even some of the shortest trips, kids stare at an ipad instead of running and playing sports.

Almost mistook obesity with obsession. There are fitness trackers exploring the markets just as a light on horizon. An iPad per se isn't anything damnworthy, at least it trains the brains and that is a scarce resource in a technologist country.
Unless Angry Birds, of course.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: March 01, 2017, 09:26:38 AM
Bitcoin is a store of value because it can operate without government.
Money don't.

Best explained using a triangle, placing Money and Bitcoin and Gold into the edges.

The connection between Bitcoin and Gold looks obvious. Both of them can exist independently.
Both are connected to Money as in beeing interchangeable.

Money itself looks a tad dependant upon someone backing it up with value or violence.
333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Marine Le Pen win? on: February 28, 2017, 10:53:23 PM
Their party won a few mayor seats, and in all these cities were a lot of polemics.

One of these mayors decided to register and make a file of all dog owners along with the dog DNA.
If a dog poop is found on the street, it will be DNA analyzed and the dog owner will receive a fine.

And so on... Just imagine if they're in charge of the country. Massive files.

It just shows how these people intend to conduct the country. They were never in charge, they don't know how this works.

For these reasons, I don't think they'll win.

LOL dogpile. Indeed, the french revolution has not happened for something like that as an outcome.
There seems to be no hightened demand on fascism or "Frexit" on the rather laissez passer average population.
334  Other / Archival / Re: Do you agree with idea "Bitcoin bank" ? on: February 28, 2017, 07:25:30 PM
Bitcoin is 100% opposite of Bank

Gold in some regards too. You don't need a bank to store nuggets or exchanging them for goods & trades.
But banks are heavily engaged into the gold markets. Seemingly that's not so contradictorily.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fees have quadrupled, and this is just the beginning on: February 28, 2017, 11:54:11 AM
Aren't there later-generation coins that fix problems in BTC like this one?
There are several schools of thought.

When you are supplying a scarce resource of limited size, there will be no end in escalation fighting for that space. Small blocksize, high fees, further escalating. That's drawing away customers they will discover cheaper to use money transfer possibilities.

If you are supplying unlimited resource you will just run into the tragedy of the commons. So there has to be a fixed rate at least to avoid getting spammed straight into the ground.

There seemingly isn't any possible way to offer cheap or even for free resource. People of the sorts like PayPal or Western Union will sniff out their chances of undercutting Bitcoin with ease.
336  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Poll] What's your Bitcoin Personality Archetype? on: February 28, 2017, 11:45:50 AM
Would have loved to be able clicking on anything "Smart something" but my name betrays me. I'm a collectors type of personality. So "Hodler" suits. Maybe you could add "Smart Hodler" onto the list of choices?
337  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE DUMP on: February 27, 2017, 04:12:36 PM

Yes I can see that "D PRICE LEVEL" but does anybody really believes in picking up moar below 840 bucks? Silly!
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Science Institute openly foresees Bubbles on: February 27, 2017, 04:03:59 PM
I am a bit confused but what is meant by that bubble word? Is it a representation of a price going down or up?

"Collapsing".

Just these TED peoples (all/most of these TED talks are worthwile to watch) use market data from companies. Goods, trade, production. All of that isn't really compareable!
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COOL NEW BITCOIN ATM MACHINES on: February 27, 2017, 02:04:44 PM
ATM machine charge high rate but they are convinient and quickest way to get bitcoin.
Unfortunately your link was removed but I guess they are just like other Bitcoin atm installed at other places.

The hardware has to get paid for. If you are in direct competition with some classical ATM taking and handing out paper bills this is a loosing battle. ATMs get robbed utilizing rather crude methods (filling with combustible gas, ignition, bang! Money in the air.)
However some completely electronical ATM, like near field rfid communication connecting a handy based payment system onto bitcoin. There's the potential market.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COOL NEW BITCOIN ATM MACHINES on: February 27, 2017, 02:01:32 PM
Check-out these cool new modern bitcoin ATM machines that was just installed in my neighborhood in Dallas, Texas.

http[Suspicious link removed]
Why link is removed sir?
Probably the forum detected that the link he gave is suspicious. Maybe op you can have some pictures of those cool new bitcoin atm machines.
Though it's already redundant that we are keep on saying "ATM Machines" that "M" already means machine. Well it doesn't matter at all, just give us the right link or post pictures.

Someone could pleeeaase add some imagetag surrounded urls of that thingy? Cannot checkout things I cannot see!
Thanks.
