this post is a joke right? i'm waiting for the punchline..
Punchline is in the video in my signature.

The arms race continues...  All these hashes do nothing to "secure the network", only cause all the miners to spend dollars competing over a rapidly diminishing pie.... CPU-only coin, anybody?
Yeah cuz botnets were never a serious threat to bitcoin </sarcasm
323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Announces 600GH/s 28nm PCIe Mining Card on: August 18, 2013, 05:05:26 PM
Forget about all the tech mumbo jumbo it all boils down to a very simple statement.  By now most ASIC manufactures can self fund since they collected plenty of money over and above their costs on these 1st batches.  Also they have plenty of information regarding hash rates, possible sales price points, wholesaler demands, consumer demands and prices they are willing to pay in relation to all the other factors, etc...  So the only reason to do pre-orders now is because they think what they are getting now will be a lot more then what they possible can get if they simply built it and sold it as it is coming in.  And that's the nice business version.  The nasty version is we collect pre-order money build it and if it is worth more then what we collected we will sell a bunch out the back door or give out to friends and relatives first before starting to ship.  I would love to hear a different argument.

See the little YouTube video I put together. Its in my signature

$110 a GH in September?

Are you paying attention?

possible group/bulk buy to ebay single sales. depending on what the level of interest is at the time. Hence, watching =)
325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 18, 2013, 03:58:09 AM

The worst case scenario... I just threw away 5 grand.
Best case scenario... I'm at the front-of-the-line for the Next Gen ASICs.  And it's fun to dream.  Smiley

To be fair, you at least appear to have a healthy attitude towards this. Wink
Sad thing is, BFL could have had alot more people like xtr8guy saying "shut up and take my money". I venture to guess that it isn't the case any longer

I'm to lazy to log on the silk road but how much do their dime bags go for?
For a hero member ,i'll tell you the shipping would be about as much as the dime.

You sir, are a shining light to humanity.  Cheesy

I put it together with quotes from this very community!

Ponzi scheme for sure

It's starting to resemble a Ponzi scheme.  They need new orders to get the old ones out.  I'm hoping I'm not a the tail end of the Ponzi scheme.

Man this sucks.

And today I found out from the BFL chat room that BFL is in fact managed by convicted criminals.  I didn't verify this which is why I left it out of the OP but nobody objected when this was brought up so it may be true.

One this is for sure, BFL was the top dog in this sector for the last 2 years and they were behaving arrogant, rude and cruel at times and their customers are not their priority - shipping bulk chips next month proves that if their attitude towards disgruntled customers and jacking their prices by nearly double didn't.

They were behaving like a monopoly much too soon and maybe now they see with all the new competition that future profits won't be as juicy as they have been and not to mention everyone hates them.

Given Their shitty attitude and reputation towards their customers anything is possible with these guys.

You used paypal, have you filed a dispute with them? Have heard good things if you call them up on the phone.

What next? Jody printing out the FedEx shipping labels for them by mistake?

dammit i meant to put that in the hitler video.

Simple mistake for a Persian engineer to make late at night in France on a Saturday.

 Cheesy Cheesy

From the BFL website:

Plus

Due to double node jump, the max power should be 0.77W/GH (3.1W/GH divided by 4). Based on everything we know from any chip industry (FPGA, CPU, GPU, etc), that should be the ceiling in power-consumption.

Regards,
Nasser

Picture says 600 GH/s @ 350W.
BFL "engineer" (who's area of expertise is Visual Basic and .NET) says 0.77W per GH/s

Unfortunately, multiplication says 600 GH/s * 0.77W per GH/s = 462W

Based on everything we know about multiplication (FPGA, CPU, GPU. etc) that should mean you are just as good at guessing TDP in August of 2013 as you were in August of 2012.

If you read carefully, it's noted that 0.77W/GH would be ceiling due to node jump, not taking any optimization or correction into consideration. The actual numbers are lower, and the ~0.6W/GH was number we decided that was closest to reality + error margin.

Regards,
Nasser

1) How are you going to get 400+ watts into 1 card 4 x Pcie connectors Huh
2) You would no be able to disapate the heat that 400 watts would generate for a single fan reference design
3) Your VB.NET power estimates where out by ~ 40% what happened in the last 6 months

Finally 4 how can u as a human be associated with this total joke of a company whose professionalism is NON EXISTANT if not criminal in nature !
5) why are you mysteriously on duty on a saturday night, is this an official launch or a leak?
