321  Other / Off-topic / I crashed my car today, forum. on: September 08, 2011, 06:16:59 PM
You know how The Dukes of Hazard named their car, "The General Lee"?  My car is named, "The Price of Bitcoins." and I bought it with bitcoins too!
322  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is anyone familiar with the internet celebrity Chris-chan? on: September 08, 2011, 06:23:18 AM
I have an idea.  Let's send him about $1000 of bitcoins and teach him how to spend it to buy himself stuff.  The condition would be that he makes a YouTube video about his experience.  That means more bitcoin exposure.
323  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Value is Irrelevant on: September 08, 2011, 06:12:26 AM
Like it or not, there's no way of avoiding the real economy and other currencies when dealing with bitcoins, therefore bitcoins' value versus other currencies will always be very important.  While bitcoins can fluctuate 15%+ on a daily basis no one will seriously use them for commerce unless: the bitcoin price carries a large premium over the dollar price (why use bitcoins then?), or the merchant employs dynamic pricing that changes every few hours or even minutes (and immediately heads over to MtGox to cash out).

When someone buys a car or land, they have to report the value they bought it for and same for the person selling either of these.  How would they work with bitcoins?
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: We've stablized the currency of bitcoins! on: September 08, 2011, 05:58:29 AM
It's now dwindling down slow.  Knowing it's obviously set for another crash, why don't the holders just sell it all off right now before it drops to $6 and below?
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: September 08, 2011, 05:52:21 AM

okay
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the Manipulator is back in the market. Buy-hold-SELL SELL SELL on: September 08, 2011, 05:49:19 AM
The manipulators have to profit.  They can put a buywall at $10 or a sell wall at $1 but they'll lose money.
327  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: When the coin price bottoms out, how fast will it rise? on: September 08, 2011, 05:12:31 AM
Just as good of a speculation method as any I guess. In fact, it's miles ahead of most of the BS I am reading in the speculation forum.

I can tell it's overpriced, but I don't know when it will fall to normal levels.  I do believe this winter when mining is cheaper as a free heating system, it will make the price drop.
328  Other / Off-topic / Re: I hate that famous Gandhi quote on: September 08, 2011, 05:08:27 AM
I think it's about trolling, "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

First they ignore the troll, then they find him funny, but when they fight him (get trolled by him), he wins.
329  Economy / Speculation / Re: At the end of the month, everybody sells their coins to pay for their rent & etc on: September 08, 2011, 05:00:52 AM
I was correct.  If I helped anyone with investing, drop me some bitcoins please.  1DcXvfJdeJch9uptKopte5XQarTtj5ZjpL
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: When the coin price bottoms out, how fast will it rise? on: September 08, 2011, 04:58:46 AM
Okay based on this poll, I now know how to bid.  I will make pollls in the future and whatever gets the least votes is correct.

This happened: It will bottom and just stagnate
And this might happen: It will bottom and very slowly dwindle away

$21.19 ?  What are you running, VPS?
332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the Manipulator is back in the market. Buy-hold-SELL SELL SELL on: September 08, 2011, 02:47:06 AM
Ed's opinion is just as valid as anyone else. Why do people trash on him so much is beyond me. He was not rude to anyone...

Ed's a genius.  All his predictions have been accurate so far.
333  Economy / Speculation / We've stablized the currency of bitcoins! on: September 08, 2011, 02:32:05 AM
It's $7.11 per coin.

It's not going up.  Not going down.  Been like this all day with only slight variations.

Good news everybody!
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Value is Irrelevant on: September 08, 2011, 02:16:05 AM
Now it would be possible to get cute and say the employees don't have any income as they get paid in bitcoins instead of dollars, but try explaining that to a judge when the employee is taken to court for tax evasion (the representing lawyer will demand dollars instead of bitcoins too).

Stock options aren't taxed, right?  I heard Microsoft had a tax evasion scheme with stock options that was perfectly legal.  You could pay the employees minimum wage plus a bonus in bitcoins.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic Selling To Come on: September 08, 2011, 12:16:51 AM
smoothie:

I think your dead right. I actually risked buying my first bitcoins below $7.00. I expected a short term rally because of the bid side of mt. gox got heavily inflated.

However, it looks like that is not able to cause a short term rally. I think I may put in a stop-loss on my bitcoins, because we are heading down.

This looks really bad.

It's been hovering around 7.05-7.20 and refusing to go higher or lower.  The market manipulator tried hard with a massive buywall at 7.15 then 7.20 and it just refused to go above 7.20.  This means people just don't want to buy above 7.20.  Now is the time to sell as it will crash soon.  I sold mine.
336  Other / Off-topic / Why do people play Minecraft? on: September 07, 2011, 11:14:07 PM
Graphics are terrible.  I don't see any gameplay, just some boring world design stuff that's so tedious and dull, then you just explore a boring world with horrible graphics, including a square sun.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fastcoin on: September 07, 2011, 11:13:12 PM
Let's say I want to buy a car in person with bitcoins?  Get a laptop to load 1 gig of data that takes 1 month.  Transfer it in person.  So I have to sign a contract then wait a day for them to clear.  Then try to get the judge to enforce it if one party doesn't come through.

338  Economy / Speculation / Re: A bear sais: price will go down again by the end of the week on: September 07, 2011, 10:17:43 PM

stagnate
stagnate
stagnate
stagnate

339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the Manipulator is back in the market. Buy-hold-SELL SELL SELL on: September 07, 2011, 09:42:32 PM
I bought in earlier today at 6.8. My first bitcoins. This manipulator better stick in there until I can dumb them over $8.00.

Why not $2?
340  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the Manipulator is back in the market. Buy-hold-SELL SELL SELL on: September 07, 2011, 07:38:01 PM
Looks like the Manipulator is back. His name is Edward50.

No.  Let's say you got 10,000 bitcoins and want to try to make money with them.  Whenever you buy or sell, the price goes crazy so it's annoying.  You unintentionally manipulate the market.
