322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Screw that, I'm hodling on: January 17, 2018, 12:02:08 PM
BItcoin failed as a payment system, LN is a joke, governments cracking down. It's game over, next stop $8000 after that I see it crashing < $4000
323  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: January 17, 2018, 01:32:03 AM
I already made up my mind, lol, shorting a few BTC here but I'm going to keep a tight stoploss on the trade. We might make another huge downturn tonight.
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin headed to $100,000 in 2018, says analyst who predicted last year's price on: January 17, 2018, 01:29:40 AM
Why are you showing a photo of Warren Buffet ? He said he doesn't believe in bitcoin at all and that he'd short all crypto coins including bitcoin if they had 5 year contracts because it will end very badly. I don't see the relationship between him and you're $100.000 goal ?
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: January 17, 2018, 01:19:14 AM
Anatomy of the crash: The wave structure of the core part of the bitcoin crash is exhibiting 'beautiful' Fibonacci relationships. It appears the structure of each declining a-b-c wave formation is creating golden ratio relationships where the length of the c-wave is 0.618 times the length of the a-wave. This produces short-lived, short-length, but sudden intense final c-wave capitulation points (illustration attached) —wonderful phinance! The crash is now half-way through, with core "fear" stage yet to unfold.

What caught me a bit off-guard is that when it dipped below $10.000 there was no huge amount of StopLoss orders getting triggered (which I expected) nor huge panic. It bounced very quickly back, most likely because it had tanked so hard already. Not sure what to do now, I've closed my shorts for the moment. We've crashed hard already, made some good profits, now I'm going to wait what happens first.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: the future is bright with some bumps on the road on: January 17, 2018, 12:33:03 AM
Would you care to elaborate on your opinion that it's a joke and that it will be here in 18 months?
Sure:

* The maximum amount you can pay in a certain route is determined by the guy with the LEAST amount of money in his channel
* Users can defraud each other in a channel, so they have to continually check if somebody is defrauding them.
* Unless you have a direct channel to your target, there is NO guarantee AT ALL that you can pay the person you want to pay.
* Users need to be online 24/7 if they want to be part of a payment route. If a user is offline, this particular route is not possible which of course has huge impact on the possible routes.
* Insane amounts of data are being sent because the network needs to be aware of EVERYBODY's payment channel's state (otherwise it can't discover a route)
* You still have huge fees if you want to wire money into/outside the channel.
* It's not feasible at all for bigger payments. Let's say you have to pay $1500 rent/month, are you going to open a payment channel and deposit 3 years rent in it ? Most people have difficulties enough coughing up the next month. But if you have to wire every payment into the channel, then you could just as well pay on-chain because you're paying that exact same on-chain fee.

Regarding the timeframe, nobody knows, but in the last update the devs said there was still a lot of work to do, so I'm not expecting it this year. They've been saying '18 months' for god knows how long, so I still take that it's the best prediction.
327  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price increase was fake on: January 17, 2018, 12:00:39 AM
your title should be bitcoin price increase from $150 to $1200 was fake back in 2013
Agreed, I've edited it.

if you want to understand what that article is talking about, compare it with a small altcoin today which is only listed on poloniex for example and 90% of its volume comes from there. it is very easy to manipulate that inside poloniex. this is the same thing we had in bitcoin back in 2012-2013.

but now that has changed.

The way I understand it they actually hacked the market placed so they could make it look trades were going off on the ask, higher and higher, driving the whole market up.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT WILL HOLD 11800 !! - it is just NORMAL correction - just use MATH on: January 16, 2018, 11:11:17 PM
has it went below 10k anywhere yet?
Yes, it went to $9940 on bitfinex
329  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT WILL HOLD 11800 !! - it is just NORMAL correction - just use MATH on: January 16, 2018, 10:28:22 PM
WHOOPS bitcoin now trading $9950 ...
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: the future is bright with some bumps on the road on: January 16, 2018, 10:25:14 PM
the future is bright with some bumps on the road!
Wear protection Smiley Cool

LOL yeah it's bright, BTC just failed as payment system and LN, which will come in 18 months, is a joke. Apart from these small bumps everything is fine
331  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT WILL HOLD 11800 !! - it is just NORMAL correction - just use MATH on: January 16, 2018, 10:16:51 PM
I just took 60% of 20.000, added 3000, divided by 3 and then doubled it, guess what, exactly $10.000 is the price to BUY BUY BUY

LOL. This is the dumbest thread on the forum
332  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: January 16, 2018, 07:12:45 PM
Did he peer into his crystal ball and see the future a week prior?

He did. Check the thread's date, he warned everybody that it would start the 15th a week before it did happen
333  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: January 16, 2018, 06:57:56 PM
We all know what your doing here.  Just remember karma is a bitch.

This guy warned everybody about the crash BEFORE IT HAPPENED and you're somehow mad at him ? That's quite ungrateful.

@xxxx123abcxxxx: I'm for one extremely grateful, if it goes < $8000 within a week, as you predicted, I'll wire you $250 as a thank-you.
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big Marketcap Crash?? on: January 16, 2018, 06:32:47 PM
"it's just christmas, after christmas it will go up again"
"it's just profit taking"
"it's just a healthy correction, this is actually good for the market"
"this is a good time to buy"

etc etc etc

Hehe I really love these forums, how people are deceiving themselves
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Market and Wallstreet on: January 16, 2018, 01:49:31 PM
As I've told earlier, wallstreet SHORTS btc, it doesn't buy it.

336  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 is death of bitcoin? on: January 16, 2018, 01:48:25 PM
I indeed think it's the end of bitcoin. It failed as a payment system, governments are cracking down on it and Lightning network is a joke. I think it's going to trade below $4000 within a month.
337  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT WILL HOLD 11800 !! - it is just NORMAL correction - just use MATH on: January 16, 2018, 01:45:44 PM
There must be an error in your math, it's tanking again
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: 15-JAN-2018 Crypto Black Monday on: January 16, 2018, 12:46:04 PM
You might want to put off your expert predictions for now, as it has already dipped below $11k today.

It surely went faster than I had expected. But this only strengthens my idea that we'll see < $8000 pretty soon now.

Whoops it just broke
340  Economy / Speculation / bitcoin price increase in 2013, from $150 -> $1000 was fake on: January 16, 2018, 02:12:35 AM
It turns out that the guys who hacked Mt. Gox could enter fake trades on the ticker tape, making it look like people were actually buying bitcoin, driving the whole market up. Interesting story that just came out: https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/15/researchers-finds-that-one-person-likely-drove-bitcoin-from-150-to-1000/
