Nope. It was way more than you think (I was confused just like you). I will take the example of a token I have recently translated for. A few things to look for: - Amount of tokens allocated to THAT SPECIFIC BOUNTY CATEGORY
- Amount of tokens you receive
You can find (aproximately) the amount of tokens (not stakes) you will receive. the number of tokens allocated to that specific category / (divided by) the TOTAL amount of tokens collected by ALL the people participating in that category Take this number and multiply it by the number of stakes you have. The only problem is that you have to estimate the TOTAL amount of tokens collected by ALL the people participating in that category. And this can be rather difficult. the example itself: - 150,000 tokens allocated to the translation campaign
- I receive 60 stakes
150,000 / 900(I multiply 60 stakes by 15, which represent the number of languages I estimate will be translated to) This is equal to 166.66. Now, I multiply this number with the number of stakes I have. Therefore, 166 x 60= 10,000. So I receive 10,000 tokens (and each tokes is x dollars, now you can get an idea of how much money you will make) EDIT : regarding your case with videos, itmmight be harder to estimate, as videos are usually included in "Media", which is composed of more than just videos. |

No way it gets down to that. That's quite an exaggeration there. Yes. Just ask any newbie who invested their life savings at $19000 why they bought BTC. I believe it will continue to fall after this pause down to around $5000, or perhaps lower, based on the trend before the steepest rise.
No fucking way it gets there, you are exaggerating. The crash already happened, we will be seeing price swings between 10k and 12k for quite a bit. At some point, investors will either become impatient and invest, or some good news convinces them to get back in. I expect March and April to be good months (we might climb back to 700m). From then one, I can't see how it might perform. |

I will probably withdraw a % every now and then, but never withdraw eveything. It seems such a bad move to get to a point where you completely quit; cryptocurrencies still have a lot of room to grow and I wouldnt want to miss on some decent gains.

I think people also overlook the fact that individuals who already have a decent Rank are more likely to receive merits, as they look more appealing (signatures, avatars, golden coins etc.).
And who the fuck would even merit me? I don't chill in an armchair with a cup of tea next to me, participating in elevated discussions on this forum. I translate whatever ann threads and whitepapers I can. The only reason I left my habitat was to see what the hell was this update and to my surprise, it doesn't really help me.
Unfortunately people label me based on my Rank. They don't even look at my previous work, they just cut me off the list. This Merit system gives me reasons to be concerned.
Nobody is being labeled by rank. Welcome to the new bitcointalk, where the quality of your posts matter more. I didn't look at your previous work , but i'm sure it's great. good post!  Unfortunately bounty managers seem to completely ignore new entries. What baffles me even more is that higher ranks than me provide subpar translations (no diacritics, use Paint to edit photos and so on) but they still receive a big portion of the contracts. And yeah you are right, my work is great, my autism makes me edit and translate everything to near-perfection (sometimes turns bad when push this too much haha) |

This Merit System looks really good on the paper, but it definitely hurts the people that can't spend too much time on the forum and be engaged in discussions, but still use the forum. For instance, I translate stuff and I allocate most of my time on the translations or applying and reading about the Bounty Campaigns etc.
I honestly feel a little lost here. How the hell am I supposed to get Merits as a Jr Member? It is way easier to get them if you are an already established member of the community. I personally fear it will take me a long time to get out of Jr Member, mainly because people would be less incentivized to Merit me due to my already-low Rank.
