322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: December 25, 2013, 01:29:46 PM

I thought it was kind of strange how the SKY creator hinted that the 1st world doesn't need banking reform and that the coin would benefit 3rd world people unable to get loans for their farms the most.  The guy seemed very technically knowledgeable, so I can only assume he lives in a cave and has never had access to one of the 75,000 youtube videos or books on the federal reserve before.

He seemed really excited about a coin that gives loans to people though.  Is this the stealth Lloyd Blankfein coin we've all been waiting for.

RE: "...1st world doesn't need banking reform..."

Right there the OP's credibility is shot, totally shot!

For Example:
--------------
After ten's of Trillions of dollars worth of backstops, guarantees, zero interest loans, and multi-trillion dollars worth of give-aways to the wealthy ruling elite of this world, they all got turned from busted out losers into made whole again winners. While the real winners during the crash were often turned back into losers all over again (The Shorts).

That's called Socialism for the top 1%. And the OP seems fine with that. But not with any socialism that seeks fairness for the masses. Except of course for making certain third world peasant farmers can have access to usury loans.

Again all credibility shot to hell.

One would expect a little more levelheaded statements from someone claiming to be so serious. But whatever.

BTW that 1% socialism that the rest of us are financing for mainly the wealthy elite? Yea, it sucks.

After wasting our time we come to learn after sifting through 9 to 10 pages of hype, plus repeated refusal to answer community questions, and having to learn of the OP's foolish belief that the 1st world DOESN'T desperately need monetary reforms to the nth degree.
OMG.

And finally we learn that this is Ripple v0.0.02.01; meaning that the OP doesn't have the foggiest clue how to distribute this created out of thin air currency he of course reins large over. And that hardly anything is worked out, likely right down to the '...protocol called Obelisk...' which will some day be '...provable secure...'.

Of course these 'we' people at SKY are going to solve everything that Ripple has yet to solve. Sure they are. Of course.

After wasting my time and learning this is yet another crazed pipe-dream from a very confused person that is at least inwardly extremely confused about how the world really functions I just couldn't resist doing a bit of ripping here.

These are serious times for serious solutions. Bitcoin and Ripple are merely two serious solutions that are works in progress. Yet the OP seems to think Bitcoin is so obviously broken that it's a hopeless cause. It's not. Not at all.

See below for the OP's thoughts on that:

Example: On one hand the 1st world banking system doesn't need reform. But on the other hand those pesky socialist countries are a threat to bitcoin. (see below).

The OP

Re: Known Problems with Bitcoin

Reply with quote  #11
There are still many challenges to be resolved by the community.

Miner cartels are becoming greater threat than 51% attack.  Miners need 2 million dollars a day to pay electricity bill. When block rewards decrease miners need higher fees. Miners cant make money unless they reject low fee transactions.

Some of the greatest problems facing Bitcoin
- Governments can determine who is using Bitcoin from IP data. We are not protecting the identities of the people running the Bitcoin client.
- Argentina, Venezuela, North Korea and France will retaliate against Bitcoin users. These countries do not want citizens to have access to technologies like Bitcoin. We are not protecting the identities of the people running the Bitcoin client.

- Bitcoin only supports 8 transactions/second and Visa's network clears 20,000 transactions/second
- Bitcoin transactions are too easy to track. Bitcoin does not offer the privacy required for widespread use in many countries.

These problems are being worked on.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So what? Another freeloading anarchist ? That thinks much like the phony libertarians? And that everyone else is supposed to carry your water too? While all you clowns get off scott free (as in evading/avoiding all taxation) ? Or are taxes merely just for us 'little people? And not you privileged top 1% folk? Yea, I peg the OP to come from the top 1%, or at least raised in the top 1% clan.

And while all of you then turn around and scream about bloody 'socialism' and how it's ruining your free-loading good times? How dare you! Grow up people. GROW UP. This is more like the shills and leeches on Cable news fronting for the ruling wealthy elite and their demands than any serious discussion on viable solutions.

There is likely only one person behind SKY so far, and their knowledge of monetary and fiscal issues on a macro level is so lacking it is painfully apparent. Toss in the OP's head spinning thoughts and well I am left wondering if this OP has two distinct personalities that are dynamically opposed and battling each other inside the OP's head.

So this OP figured out how to do QE~ (to infinity) from the get go just like Ripple? I don't think so.

And now figures to be the Master of SKY while working out the particulars, and us 'little people' slaves obey whatever is determined by the OP? And us little people are to be glad of whatever does trickle down to us lucky chosen few? Again, I don't think so. In fact keep all that SKY v2.0, I don't care for any of it.

All while at least ripple is seemingly trying to offer a tremendously valuable service with such efficiencies still unmatched to date, but obviously still struggling to hit critical mass, as well as make it easy to even fully comprehend, let alone use! Not to mention get widely distributed.

The OP here is offering exactly what?

To enrich himself, and dictate monetary policies through the issue of his own currency, all of it created out of thin air right from the start! Miners not required. Others will be offered a piece of the pie in the classic scam called 'trickle down'.

And merely with a vague statement concerning fairness of said issue that shall be retained while the OP obviously is still working out the particulars.

Sounds vaguely familiar and similar to so called public central banks in the western world. lol. But hey, it's a giant leap from 1913 (hint).

I am done with this one.

The OP had a good set of lines and features for a primer, and to attract much attention.

But from everything so far it's apparent this isn't what it first seemed to be. Too bad. It was obviously an interesting concept but isn't even remotely in alpha staging yet. Nor forming up to be a palatable delight.

And about the bitcoin shortcomings: Don't be too sure about what you stated OP. I seriously doubt that Bitcoin will fail at meeting marketplace demands once things start rapidly advancing. But yes, it's not the most advanced, nor the most secure, nor not yet ready for prime time. Okay. But I have supreme confidence in the team behind Bitcoin where the rubber meets the road. They are some of the true 'Best & Brightest', not the phony financial hucksters and scammers in the City of London and Manhatten N.Y.

I can't say the same about SKY v2.0 though. Or didn't the OP know that there has already been a failed Skycoin v1.0?

Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware!

323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]LOTTO COIN NOW TRADING ON COINEDUP! on: December 25, 2013, 02:53:11 AM
Dumb people is dropping lottocoins like shit, the price is going down because of the low volume, we need cryptsy asap!

We need places where people can spend lottocoins, and get on some the exchanges.
This will get something of a value in the coin.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is the BEST Coin for the Gambling audience!? on: December 25, 2013, 02:40:08 AM
Hello all,

Between all those alts there are a few which target a specific audience, like Gamblers.

After a bit of research I stumbled upon 3 coins which are doing this at the moment:

Casinocoin
Luckycoin
Lottocoin

My question is, which is most likely to succeed and why?

Thank you for your input!

(Disclaimer: currently mining CSC and LOT)
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest $10,000 into Quark or Dogecoin? on: December 24, 2013, 08:02:37 PM
Why not take a smaller amount and put it in a coin with a little more risk and reward.
I'd suggest CSC or LOT, as we all love to gamble.

Good luck though!

Sorry for the late replys everyone its the holidays and my schedule is jam packed!

I ended up sending these guys a message and the total package for a bitcoin casino is
15,000 Euro...
10% of your income..
1000Eur Fee per month

HOLY SHIT.
Looked so promising, but yet so expensive!

Hi everyone,

Looking forward to making this coin the currency for online gambling.
Also have a domain or two for casinocoin marketing purposes.

We should really try to get this coin on the exchanges as it will boost credibility.

What domains do you currently hold I have quite a few in my portfolio as well.
There needs to be a few changes made to the source before we ask any more exchanges to bring the coin in.
These multipools are screwing with a lot of things, mining the most profitable coin and just dumping.. What a waste they completely messed up doge and are on the right track to doing it to csc if we fall back down as the most profitable coin again.
My 2 cents!

For poker, BitcoinPoker.com/SealsWithClubs.eu uses:

http://www.briggsoft.com/pmavens.htm

$499 for a pro license.

Looks kinda basic.. but we got to start somewhere right?
For the money it isnt that bad.
If we get CSC valued try to get it within a range in value, we can use this value to calculate how many csc we would need for the license.
Then everyone (with a huge chunk of CSC) could send the amount to someone that will pay for it in $.
WIN - WIN , because we obviously need a place to spend our CSC.

Thank you for sharing!

I've posted my domains at the casinocoin forum, (betwithcasinocoins.com/casino-coin.com)

Anyhow, we should not worry too much about the multipools atm I agree. Until we have some stable places where people can spend/gamble casinocoins it does not have much value.
Getting known at several exchanges might improve word-of-mouth marketing, also these multipools can help toward making the casinocoin a succes in the longer run.
People will need to know about the casinocoin and what they can do with it and where they can do it at.

Opposed to moving onto exchanges, we could also support that people hold on to the CSC in their wallet. It lowers the exchange volume, but will create a broader support for the CSC when there are a lot of places where they can spend it.

Just my thoughts though..

I agree with you, I think if we can push to get csc on someplace like btc-e it would help a lot. Anyone have any idea how to get them to do so? There's a lot of coins that are probably trying to get added. Whoever approaches btc-e or other exchanges needs to be smart about it.

It is so hard to get through to Btc-e, and I don't think they will adopt CSC quite yet as it is not traded on all other exchanges.
Your very right whoever decides to contact btc-e needs to plan it out first as you don't want to blow the shot and piss them off.

Once Csc has some casinos, merchants, and more persons behind the community backing it up these exchanges will adapt csc no problem.

You guys are right, but the multipools can do some damage.. Just look at how the diff fluctuated during the days it was most profitable on cwarz.
Doge is a joke.. but it can be a profitable one. Which means more casinocoin and btc for me Smiley

For persons wondering about:
Casinocoincity

It's Christmas eve for me today so the work will halt for two days. After that the final touches will be put on the First Game added and will be open for some Beta Testing before it's release it to the public and the Casino Opens! Working on so many things at once is hard, forcing me to outsource the blackjack, roulette, and other table games which will all vary in release dates. It was quite a dent in my pocket but i'm glad the freelancer accepted BTC. If anyone has skills that will help with this Casino please pm me your work will not go un-paid or un-noticed. Not going to call them donations more of a tip to speed up the release of the Casino but also ensuring safety and probable play.

Looking for 5-15 Persons to Test the Game and Games when they are available, I will provide 25-A varying amount of CSC to play with. After you have played with the full amount your withdraw option will activate and you can with any winnings. *Your beta account will delete after withdraw*

This will be one of the longest, and most complicated projects yet for myself but it's been a great time so far and I can't wait to see what the new year brings!

Sure, hook me up for the beta testing.. I love gambling, and I think most people who believe in this coin do Wink

Hallo allemaal,

Multipools didn't mess up doge, doge being a joke coin turned internet fad messed up doge coin. People were buying at prices that would have required over a million USD to continually flow into the coin each and every day to maintain given its billion coin per day inflation. If a coin requires all its miners to just hold it and not sell much in order to maintain its value then it's overvalued.

As far as casinocoin goes I'd be wary of changing things too much to try to thwart multipools since often times those battles turn into scorched earth situations in which nobody wins. Many of the countermeasure and coin parameters that have been tried have ended up having significant unintended consequences.

One mild and passive defense casinocoin already has is that it's a 30 second coin. Doubling hash rate will not halve block time since stale rates and orphans increase non-linearly as actual time per block decreases. At 30 seconds per block your real world mining output is probably going to be in the vicinity of 85% of the theoretical output. You're only getting 60-something percent once hash rate goes up enough to put the coin around 15 seconds. The more established multipool operators are aware of this but the average profit jumping small miner looking at a site like coinwarz often isn't. They'll pile in to whatever's on top of the list without a second thought. The one upside of that is that now you have more people with casinocoin and a small portion of them may choose to hold rather than immediately sell.

The one solution to volatility that I see is to just build the value of and demand for this coin. If that happens then steady hash will increase and the difficulty fluctuation caused by profit switching will lessen.
