322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - One Click Install Is Live[Updates & Discussion] on: August 09, 2014, 09:12:55 PM

Not really, just the dumb(ers). Alpha working well and many good features and plans coming up every week. IMO if NEM delivers mobileapp it will skyrocket and make a difference !
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - Official Discussion Thread! Distributing the coins! on: August 09, 2014, 08:26:57 PM
Any news on the client?

I'd like an ETA so that I know when to buy some coins!

Now the client is tested

Awesome, sounds good. Looking forward to it, as I think such a lightweight language can be good for a crypto.

What you mean by saying that ? Any ETA ?
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - Official Discussion Thread! Distributing the coins! on: August 09, 2014, 01:14:38 PM

It is not trolling if you want to see some proof and evidence about how the NODE really works and what is the future schedule....
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FIMKrypto: NXT spinoff 30s blocks, POW-like rewards, national income *FIMK on: August 08, 2014, 09:21:47 PM
Hi Devs:

any roadmap or other updates?

They will sponsor a bitcoin-tour in Finland, but i received news-letter from bittiraha.fi, which is the main organizer in that tour and FIMK was not mentioned in that letter  Huh

One thing is for sure, we need more buzz around this coin. The airdrop/citizen-pay will start at October.
I donīt see mass adoption or even get couple of thousands finns to take a part of FIMK would be hard, if itīs value still being close to zero. (planned distribution to Finnish citizen was 200FIMK/per head, which is at the moment about 0.2€....

FIMK is now #48 in coinmarketcap with coins like Dnotes and keycoin  Sad
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - Official Discussion Thread! Distributing the coins! on: August 08, 2014, 07:37:59 PM
Could someone PM me about setting up a node? I have a ridiculous amount of free server space but I don't know how to set up the actual node itself.  Tongue

You can not run your own right now.  Some of the peers listed look a little weird, if you hit one of the IPs you got login page for home broadband routers and stuff.  Looks like maybe a small, private group of individuals testing.

Could the developers just infom us about the plans regarding future of the coin?

This is looking more and more joke than "Be your own bank". They had enough time to made an auctions etc, but every time someone had asked about code, those guys just literally lost their language skills.  Grin
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PoS+PoW] eXocoin [EXO]-gen 2.0- dev. from scratch! Give-Away | Open Beta on: August 08, 2014, 06:42:46 PM

Jesus stop posting about NXT and NFD and this stuff. Thies thread is about EXOCOIN. Promote the others somewhere else.

Hey dev, maybe it is time for an update.

Yep we need a update from exocoin, not this allways ongoing and never stopping bullshit spam about NXT...

330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - Official Discussion Thread! Distributing the coins! on: August 08, 2014, 11:48:06 AM
Node has been distributed to less than 1000 persons.. That is something i really like. Puppets been removed. That means no xtreme dumping rush.. There will be people willing to cash out because they need inmediately money but there will be people taking advantage of those.. There will be a good stable price really fast. I've seen and many stakeholders are veterans and those are not weak hands.

Maybe NEM is more known atm but it has too many more stakeholders. I think node price will be really good and stable. Also because the features is promising are really good.

i agree with what you say but imo it all depends on if this secure wallet comes out. it should have been one of the first things done before the coins were distributed.

If they dont deliver the Windows client soon as possible, price will be not more than 0.1BTC.

Like every decent crypto software we are going trough the same 3 stages:

1) Implementation
2) Testing
3) Release!

We are still swinging between the first two!

Except you're not.  You've jumped straight to doing part of step 3 before finishing the first two, or doing the most critical parts of step 3.  You've released.  Your coins are "disbursed" and your chain is now live and transacting, you've had your genesis block.

Your network is under an intentional and self-inflicted 51% attack.  Actually it is a 100% attack, and there is no recourse as we stakeholders (I know that I'm not much of a stakeholder with my 0.1 coin that I found, but I doubt if I'd be alone in these sentiments) don't even know how mining occurs.  We're "not even allowed to mine" in a sense.

Further, the same person holding sole claim to all transaction selection rights on the network via their 100% attack also happens to have a copy of every key to every coin in every wallet.  Even if the devs are doing everything they can to not retain those keys, themselves, those keys are also being transmitted around in the clear.  What happens if there is another nodejs zero day that lets someone trivially compromise the server and read everyone's keys?  (It would not be the first such bug found in nodejs.)

You don't just need to Free your source, you need to Free your network itself!

(Not to mention that it isn't even possible to have this coin traded on any exchange until the exchanges can actually peer on the network.)

This is really lookin shady, im afraid that we'll never gonna see any client or source code. This is absolutely pure foolishness to distribute coind first without any client.

@HunterMinerCrafter

Wait a second!

Like every decent crypto software we are going trough the same 3 stages:

1) Implementation
2) Testing
3) Release!

We are still swinging between the first two!

Any news about exchange or client ?
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - Official Discussion Thread! Distributing the coins! on: August 07, 2014, 08:35:08 AM

Just wait and dump your coins after NoDE hit an Exchange. My predictions are that price will be 0.3 BTC per stake.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: August 07, 2014, 07:42:29 AM

Lots of talk about NEM, its supposed to have the most advanced blockchain, etc, but im putting all my bets on NXT, but i still am holding a NEMstake.

NEM just got pushed back... again. Stellar and Reddcoin are here now.

NEM dev-team just released new alpha !
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - Logo Voting Has Begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 06, 2014, 03:41:19 PM
WOOOOW, 1 NEMstake had fell to 15000NXT

Maybe it will be 10000NXT soon! Cheesy

You guys were a waste of time to discuss the future, HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS!

Nothing had released, just Alpha has launched. A lot of investors had lost they interest in NEM

Other projects had speed up the project progress in order to present they advantage.

And the NEM project just slow down?

Somebody must be manipulating the markets, no freakin way that this near at the launch price goes down and down without any negative news.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PoS+PoW] eXocoin [EXO]-gen 2.0- dev. from scratch! Give-Away | Open Beta on: August 06, 2014, 12:38:10 PM
If we will not have eXocoin launched before 31th October 2014 then we will quit the project completely and refund all investments.

Hope to see it live in september

I'm also trusting the dev-team, hope to see the launch in late september !
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - One Click Install Is Here[Updates & Discussion] on: August 06, 2014, 03:27:54 AM

Everyone selling today, will (and should!) cry tomorrow .. Remember this words, guys! Smiley

I will remember your words for sure! The "parallel" plans are going to shake the world of cryptos. The mobile apps and the fast trading exchange are nothing seen before. These are the two most important elements in the ecosystem and will complement and make it work like a charm. If we start now, we should see daylight with it sometime 1Q 2015, which is probably about the end of V1 or a couple of months after that. Then we will see the dawn of great things to happen.

Alas, this won't kick off if there are no resources.

Thats sounds fantastic. Going mobile is the only Way to bring masses to the cryptos!
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - Logo Voting Has Begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 05, 2014, 02:18:53 PM

For example, Storj is trying to raise 9800 BTC and have already raised 590: http://storj.io/crowdsale.html
With funds like that, it should be possible to really do some incredible stuff that will change world economies.

I like the idea of crowd-selling something that is intrinsically value. I think that would give our movement a good name if we can raise funds while also giving people something worthwhile.

How about Mastercoin, they raised 6000+BTC

What now?

Yep, those fund risings seems to have many similarities with pyramid schemes and ponzis
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - Logo Voting Has Begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 05, 2014, 01:55:26 PM
Can't you work for a stake ? I understand that there is a 5% =200 stakes reserved for ecosystem development. It is worth 200.000 $ at least.

We can - in fact we are. But externals especially companies won't. Since the support that we've seen so far has been underwhelming we will have no choice but to "outsource" some things to contractors.

You could set a bounty for the required works. I have some doubts on your ability to pick contractors. Typical example: interim logo selection. It is not uncommon to pick a wrong person for a job though. I do management and most of the time it is a very time consuming process to choose a right person for a job. That's why a bounty system is the best. It allows different candidates to sort themselves out for a the job and the winner is often the best fit candidate.

After official Launch it should be easier to attract more people to work with NEM, so i prefer bounties too.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - Logo Voting Has Begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 05, 2014, 01:33:55 PM
If anyone keeps track of the progress and release of crypto 2.0 coins, you will notice that there are several promising projects that have been raising a lot of funds, among which are MaidSafe and Ethereum. Unlike these other projects, NEM was created without a large amount of initial funding, giving away most of the stakes for free or for trivial amounts of money. This is good, because it sets us apart from other coins, as a movement marked by equality of opportunity and solidarity without envy.

However, it is also important to realize that in order for NEM to reach its full potential, the community needs to come together and create a vibrant ecosystem that can meet the future needs of our users.

Towards this end, we are planning to prepare to work towards creating key projects required for a comprehensive ecosystem, with an emphasis on mobile apps and a fast, secure exchange, that will fully utilize our upcoming P2P asset exchange. To build this infrastructure, we need to raise funds to compete with the likes of MaidSafe and Ethereum.

Rather than centralize more power with the dev team, we are considering promoting a separate entity that would create and maintain several key ecosystem projects. To create this entity, we should have serious funding to hire full time programmers to work in parallel with the core dev team. This would help us to hit the ground at full speed, right at V1 launch.

If you have any ideas for good ways to raise significant funds (hundreds of BTC), please post them here. I am interested in what kind of thoughts and ideas people have.

Werenīt there allready development fund for operations like that ? If everything goes as a planned one stake should be at least 2k-5k, so why you just use those funds to pay salaries etc. ?

According to the draft development contract, that is not supposed to be touched until after V1. Anyway, those funds are pittance funds. What can 100BTC do? Not much.

We need real resources to fund such an important development.

10% - reserved for the core development team to fund development of the NCC and NIS up to the release of V.1 of the blockchain.
10% - reserved for the core development team to fund development of the NCC and NIS after the release of V.1 of the blockchain.
5% - reserved for the extended development team; those who are working on promoting NEM and the NEM ecosystem

are you saying that 25% will be just 100btc and the market for NEM will plummet to something like 250 000 dollars Huh

Even with marketcap of 5 000 000 million, development fund should be considered significant in any way!

How does one get hold of those funds? Coins are not released yet and there is no NEM coins in circulation. Plus the NEM stakes are for the community to claim, not for development. To me it was an oversight and everything is snookered here.

Further, the funds were meant to fund the current core team for their work until V1. Post V1, there will be some 10% left. But that is too late. We cannot be serially acting on roll outs. If there is a way to do things parallel, we should look at that as an alternative.

Hmm but could something like crowdsale be harmful original stakeholders and the NEM itself, if the parallel coin get all the hype. If you remember situation with maidsafe and mastercoin...
