Any verdict on the newest wallet release?

Have not seen many post about how they are working.

The later eth-cuda miner let's you select cards with - -gpu-devices 0 2 3

This only works with eth-cuda on the latest 2 or 3 releases.

If using regular eth (opencl) it will not work. Use - - opencl-platform 1 and all cards will be used.

I just started it like that (opencl-platform 1) and it doesn't look much different: https://i.imgur.com/3SDe7Bw.png
It looks like it's mining AND it's building a DAG file? Are DAG files per card?

I believe diag is per card don't quote me though.

If using AMD cards try - - opencl-platform 0

You can open a second geth via cmd prompt and type:  geth - - attach

This will let you use commands without affecting the: geth - - rpc

Just in case you have not used that. Also not sure how much help you are getting in the other thread.

NOT MUCH--

I mined solo for a while with both the wallet, and the GTX 960.  I stopped the wallet CPU miner, and my GPU miner went from 10Mh/s to 10.5Mh/s.  So, no real need to max out the CPU with 8 threads.

Supposedly, the level of "Verbosity" for Geth can be adjusted, there may be another way.

With ETH coin, the miner finds "Blocks" of 5 coins, or "Uncles" of 4.375 or 3.75 coins (Uncle 0 and Uncle 1).

At 10.5Mh/s, I should be able to receive about 10 coins a week.  If I install the Ethereum packages on Ubuntu, I could mine on the Lan with my Linux boxes.  If I rebuilt my AMD 280x rig, that would be about 6x 24Mh/s, or a total of 150Mh/s (6x280x + 1x960), or a lot of ETH coins.

If you install the ethereum packages, your "qt" gets upgraded to v5.5.  Do you (or anyone else) know if that would affect the compilation of CCminer on Linux?

We'll see.       --scryptr

I have not tried the "Verbosity" but have not looked that far. Just figuring out the "Gas" now.

I like the Uncles and think I found one but did not realize it paid that much. Thought it was way lower than that.

I only have 36 Mh/s on it at the pool but of course the pool reports way lower but still finding a few coins a day. Just trying to get the 750ti's to go right and I will be happy.

Also not sure about any affects for ccminer on Linux.

Good luck. Let me know if I can be of any help but I don't know much.

I had also problems on verters, then switched to solo and then discovered give-me-coins.com(tnx to user phenomenha's tip) and it is just great Wink You get what You deserve and you can calculate the profit aswell with the calculator on the page. You would earn 0.063 BTC/day with 96Mh and the current diff 302.63 Wink

You would get 0.25 BTC/day with that equivalent 96MH VTC hashrate for ETH.
I am not sure the exact profit as I am just starting to mine that hot baby.

GETH--

I just started Geth, the wallet, with the Windows batch file.  How can a miner tell when the blockchain is completely in place?  The wallet is console-only.  I have been waiting about 18 hours, watching the text stream by.  Do you have a clue?

--scryptr

If you did the genesis_block.json then it should take less than 20 minutes. 10 actually.

How do we do that? What is that? Any chance you've seen step-by-step instructions somewhere?

Thanks

I do but I am at work and on my phone. Will be home in about 7 hours.

Just a heads up if you have 750ti's then this coin is not worth it with the current available miners. Believe me, I have tried. 960's and above then you are fine.

Also don't expect much help from the Ether forum or irc. They are keeping this as low key as possible.

EDIT: 1 750ti does good mixed with 960 and above but not straight 750ti's

Last question from me about these new wallets.

It says the second version was "delivered" and not really sure what it is doing besides quicker POS blocks.

What about the first one? Was this one made by the dev team or "delivered" also?

Don't want to run something that is unsure of source after people reported that coins disappeared from wallets a while back.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AXIOM] AxiomMemHash, Schnorr Sigs Implemented, APOS 3.0, AXH 2.0 Proposed on: August 14, 2015, 12:32:37 PM
My question went unanswered but from how I see it.

They think/know there is a POS glitch where someone can get POS more frequent than normal so they create these wallets but don't make it mandatory (hard fork) to update wallet.

Why would anyone update?

I think you're misinterpreting the update.

Those wallets don't fix the issue they are proof of the issue.  If you use either of those wallets you should in theory stake faster than you would using the normal wallet.

Thanks for the clear up.

AXIOM Update August 13

There has been a lack of communication from our lead technology and algorithm developer. We share the same frustrations as the community, and expected work to be completed at a quicker pace.

Before cutting off contact two weeks ago, the lead dev played around with various exploits and succeeded in fixing some and shared some of his findings with us. The AXIOM team was given compiled optimized wallets to test around the time we made the POS 3.0 announcements. We never received the source code to these optimized wallets.

For this reason, we have decided to release two of the optimized miners that were compiled by the lead developer. We hope to work with the incredibly motivated AXIOM community to continue building the project and harden the Proof of Stake protocol against such “optimizations” as these. We suspect the developer does not want to fix POS insecurities, and we invite the community to join us in our efforts to secure POS exploits in the #axiomcrypto channel on the Freenode IRC network.

The first manipulates a POS variable and a weight check in wallet.cpp to cause coins to split and stake more often than a normal wallet.

https://bitbucket.org/AxiomCryptocurrency/axiom/downloads/axiom-qt-optimized-staking.zip

The second was delivered to us with much less of an explanation. It contains the above edits and also skips a CPU intensive “check” phase in POS. We aren’t sure exactly what this wallet is doing, but it seems to stake more often.

https://bitbucket.org/AxiomCryptocurrency/axiom/downloads/axiom-qt-staketest-optimized-staking-test2.zip

We are NOT certain what these wallets will do the network. We expect the POS difficulty to raise. If there are any network or blockchain problems we are equipped to hardfork and resolve any issues. Whatever happens, it will be interesting.

We are looking for more community involvement to aid us in reaching our development goals. This isn’t the end of the line, and with the help of the community, we can finish the project and revolutionize the Proof of Stake system by patching all possible exploits. The next high POW/POS period begins in 6 weeks and we ask the GPU mining crowd to also share their code with the rest of the AXIOM community and keep our coin strong.

More news soon.

Has anyone tested either of these wallets out or plan to? Let us know your experience if you do, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious.

What about the whitepaper and roadmap ? You are in touch whit dev and don't even report what he said about this ? Or did he just threw those miners at your mail without further explanations ?

What he means in a sugar coated way is that the dev is gone and since he is not the dev himself he is looking for devs from the community to help him. Until then it is status quo. Best case scenario is that a dev/devs step up in the next month or so before the next high block reward to sort out POS issues as well as make the algorithm more resistant to GPU miners.

That's how it looks like but I want confirmation on this.

Well, he hasn't formally quit and was very excited about the project. While the AXIOM marketcap grew, he communicated less and less each day. He promised a whitepaper last Monday, the last we heard from him was Friday. He couldn't sleep properly and woke up with lumps on his neck, supposedly. His accounts haven't been online since. This is all we know and we're working to keep the project healthy while we wait for more information.

So let me see if I have this correct.

New wallet that does not say mandatory (hard fork). So if that is the case then anyone who is using these "possible" exploited staking wallets can keep on using them.

Dev not responding. Is he Mr. Spread because we are still looking for him also.

Payment never made it to my wallet

It looks like transfer was never sent because of too many blocks for one transaction.

Version pow reward is only 2V hence the pool wallet consists of many small 2V blocks.
To send 2580V pool wallet tries to create the transaction with about 1290 blocks and fails because the maximum blocks amount it can handle for the single transaction is around 500 blocks (it's not only Version limitation, all coins act that way).

To send transaction that large from the pool wallet pool owner has to combine 2V blocks into the larger ones first using coin control or just send it manually in 500-1000V chunks.

I'd suggest to set something around 600V max automatic payout to avoid this problem.

@Noise

Thanks for the explanation.

I have set an auto payout in the pool as I did recieve the small one.

So now I just need the pool owner to redo the payout for that then.

im mining on one R9 290x at stock settings.

also will i see my coins in the alethzero wallet thing?

Also curious if this is correct as I see the same thing just starting.

Also what is the command to type to check wallet balance to see if I actually mined a block?

Thanks.

Yeah that's mining.  But if you're solo mining with one R9 290 you're not likely to get any coins from mining.

Thanks for the reply.

So I have ethminer up and running properly.

I have geth running also.

What command do I type to verify if I have a balance of coins or not?

Thanks again.
I mine with alethzero running with eth miner, i can see my balance in the frontier GUI. you could always just look up your wallet address on www.etherchain.org

Thanks,

Tried that and it says wallet not found.

The ethminer says I am finding blocks and it verifies on the geth that is running.

I am trying to make sure I am not wasting time by mining "ghost"  coins.
