321  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt.GOX is FINE, BTC HAS NOT 'CRASHED' on: February 09, 2014, 12:34:27 AM
Yes nothing is wrong...yup BTC withdrawals halted...nothing wrong there.  Cheesy

When you do a withdrawal on a massive website like Gox, it's not the same as simply sending money from your wallet. It's a massive database combined with multiple wallets and cold storage too. To be honest i'm surprised they haven't had to do that before. It is a very complex web application and i am sure they are working very hard to fix the problem.

I don't really get this idea that they are doing it deliberately. Like i said. Why wouldn't they just shut down a bunch of people's accounts and steal their coins - or pretend they got hacked or something - if they wanted to steal coins?

It doesn't make any sense that they would stop withdrawals unless they HAD to - obviously it doesn't look good. They wouldn't do it unless their really was a technical hitch.

LOL! you paranoids make me laugh.
322  Economy / Speculation / Mt.GOX is FINE, BTC HAS NOT 'CRASHED' on: February 09, 2014, 12:25:04 AM
OK, let's look at the facts:

1) BTC price has not actually dropped any lower than it was just a few weeks ago, on Dec 18th. On Dec 18th the price was $600 USD. So far the price has not dropped to this low - so in no way is the price 'crashing'. That is pure hype crap.

2) Mt. GOX has had some kind of technical glitch. They are the BIGGEST bitcoin exchange in the world. I am a web designer and database engineer - Obviously the technical processes involved in running a massive exchange like that means that there might be some glitches sometimes. They have temporarily suspended BTC withdrawals - so they can fix the bug. If they wanted to run off with everyone's coins - why wouldn't they just shut down and say they got hacked or something - surely that would be very easy for them if they wanted to do that.

3) I have personally made many AUD and BTC deposits & withdrawals in and out of Gox over the last few weeks. They respond to my support request on average in about 4 days. I have absolutely no paranoid deluded fear that they are trying to scam me.

4) Gox has recently added One time password cards to their security. Why would they go to all the hassle of adding new features to their website when their prime goal is to run off with everyone's coins?

5) The only reason Gox slowed down USD withdrawals was because the US government stole $5 million of their money.

If anyone believes the total and utter crap written all over this forum trying to say that Gox is trying to scam everyone then they are an idiot.

If they don't re-start BTC withdrawals within a few days i'll eat my hat.

THIS IS NOT A CRASH:

323  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN CRASHING on: February 08, 2014, 11:28:22 PM
This is the lowest bitcoin has been all year

Well yes, but it was lower on Dec 19th. That wasn't much before this year. I'm still very confident the price will not drop to $600.
It's going to steady out with minor fluctuations from now until September/Oct when it start to rise to $5000 - $8000.
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN CRASHING on: February 08, 2014, 11:24:05 PM
Yeah that's right, all you retarded HODLers thought Proudhon was trolling, well he wasn't, and all that confirmed bad newses is coming back to bite y'all in the butt!! How does it feel? How does it feel? $350 coins in a week, sell now and double your BTC, only fools don't take advantage of such an easy trade!
Speculate away, bagholders  Grin Grin Grin

EDIT $712 at stamp, we'll touch the $600s within 24hours, mark my words. =D

$600 won't happen.

As I predicted in my fractal analysis the price is now stabilizing around the $700 mark. It will stay around $700 until a massive rise in about 7 months time.

SEE: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=451264.0

nah sorry. fractals dont work like that. elliot wave theory looks deep into this. there will be alternation. also, those two waves would have to be part of one larger wave that looks the same..... not gonna happen.

OK, well i'd be very interested to hear your own prediction for the next 8 months?
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN CRASHING on: February 08, 2014, 11:11:27 PM
Considering that the current minor price drop is still not as low as the drop just a few weeks ago in mid-december - how is this in any way a 'crash'.
I mean seriously the hyped up talk on this forum is enough to scare anyone off holding their coins.
Is that the whole point of this forum - to scare the crap out of everyone? Cause that's what it looks like!
I'm not worried at all - I've got a load of coins on Gox and i'm sure that their little technical probem with BTC withdrawals will get fixed in a few days.
BTC is NOT crashing at all and Gox is just fine. You lot need to drink less coffee or something.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Fractal theory price prediction $5000 - $8000 / BTC on: February 08, 2014, 10:51:07 PM
looks like my prediction is becoming true - nice and stable again around $700

'Nice n Stable'

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If you are determined to hold through thick and thin, as you continue to watch already greatly diminished wealth potential evaporate even further, you are going to have to level with yourself instead of all this self delusion. You are only harming yourself in the long run.

Sounds like you hate Bitcoin mate. maybe you should sell all your coins then and stop trolling all over this forum!

329  Economy / Speculation / Re: IF MT GOX DIES THEN BITCOIN PROBABLY WILL TOO on: February 08, 2014, 08:23:07 AM
Gox is NOT dying - what the hell is wrong with you people?

A temporary technical problem - that will be fixed on MONDAY.

You people need to smoke some hodl or something.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did MtGox play people's money? Would explain hypothetical lack of liquidity on: February 08, 2014, 03:16:17 AM
Reviving my original post...  Time to re-consider my original taught?

Last time was with withholding fiat.  Now they are stopping any currency withdrawal...

I LOL'd at Komodorpudel's post. The level of naivety in society in spite of all the reports of corruption even in the mainstream media, never ceases to amaze me. Not only naive, but he then reprimands you for your tin-foiled hattedness.

It was only after I read your updated post that I spotted that this was originally posted way back in July 2013.

Looks like your concerns were justified. Gox has played the oldest money changer trick in the book. They have realised that not everyone wants all their fiat withdrawn or in Bitcoin all at once, they have taken money, and possibly worked fake Bitcoin into their exchange (accrediting accounts with more Bitcoin than is actually on the exchange) in order that they can take out even more money, and play it on other profitable ventures.

Great when it works. A complete disaster when it doesn't. Gox is blatantly insolvent and the move to block BTC withdrawals suggests that not only do they not have the money to pay people back, but they don't have the BTC either. Yet another massive Bitcoin fraud.

They have stopped BTC withdrawals - for a few days so they can fix some bug.

More scare-mongering like this will not help Gox OR the people who want to continue using their services.
331  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: February 07, 2014, 09:37:05 AM
Jeeeesus i just worked out what HODL means.

And just in time too - I mean when the trolls freaked out over this latest so-called 'crash' - I thought "hmmm me go hodl, me no want lose money, me hodl yeeeeah" but then it hit me........ SODL ! so i sodled my fiat for more btc.

damn it i feel good
332  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can you withdraw US cash from MTGox now? on: February 07, 2014, 09:28:18 AM
I've had withdrawals arrive in AUD $ a few weeks in a row - none of them took longer than a couple of weeks to arrive.

It's interesting that everyone blames Gox for the US goverment stealing $5 million of their money. How is that Gox's fault?

334  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gox crash! on: February 07, 2014, 07:40:18 AM
Seems Gox is crashing.

you mean the price of BTC is crashing - on ALL exchanges.

What is this weird meme of hating Gox ?
I've had many $ withdrawals and BTC withdrawals weekly for the last 6 months with them.

They are not 'crashing' any time soon.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Fractal theory price prediction $5000 - $8000 / BTC on: February 06, 2014, 06:54:43 AM
This is elliot wave analysis. it does not entail anything only gives potential price targets near the end of waves. the market responds in predictable ways to unexpected fundamental shifts. but the shifts are still unpredictable....

I reckon when the price is mainly determined by what people's gut reaction is and doesn't depend on how well a business is doing (like stocks and shares) then maybe it IS more predictable. People watch that chart and they react a certain way - so it's very likely to repeat.

Bitcoin is much more likely to follow repeatable trends than any other currency or stock price.

That's just my humble opinion.

336  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Fractal theory price prediction $5000 - $8000 / BTC on: February 06, 2014, 05:49:37 AM
Heard it here first?! You're like the 10th person to mention this reference and theory today. What do you smoke?

337  Economy / Speculation / BTC Fractal theory price prediction $5000 - $8000 / BTC on: February 06, 2014, 05:07:00 AM
Have you heard that a lot of financial charts can have repeating fractal patterns in them? (no i am not stoned right now...)
I noticed that the last 4 months of BTC / USD prices looks amazingly similar to the pattern of last April,May price rise last year.

So if the pattern really will repeat..... then around August - October 2014 the BTC price may rise to $5000 or more.

You heard it here first!

EDIT: According to my prediction - the current price drop will not go any lower than $550 USD before correcting to an average of around $600 - $800 for about 6 or 7 months, then it will have another massive rise.
338  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox EURO (only) withdrawal delays? on: January 31, 2014, 10:26:41 PM
I'd like to know too. I recently did a few euro withdrawals - since they changed to the new system.
They recently removed 'Technocash' withdrawals and started using some other method.
I made the withdrawals only about a week ago - so I will keep you updated.
339  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox . . . Warning about MtGox . . . TAKE THE NEW POLL!! on: January 31, 2014, 10:08:56 PM
Personally I have got verified very quickly within about 2 weeks and had fairly good support.
Support usually responds within about 4 days.
I felt I had to post this because from reading most of the posts here, people seem to be ranting about how bad gox is when it's mainly their own fault.
I mean, if they require you to be verified then just do it. What's the point complaining about it. They are providing a great service if you do what they ask of you. Comments like this are pointless:
"I was never able to withdraw bitcoins from MtGox without being verified, but I'm not a long time user there (about 1 year now)."
Well then get verified derrr... What are you afraid of? You think Gox is going to report your id to the cops or something? i don't really understand the fear of having Gox verify your id? Isn't that partly to protect YOU?
