Very interested in these....

I really wonder when they will ship; end of Q3 is a long way away.

Anyone on here pre-order yet?

Hi Ninja:

Don't know if you have seen this already:

http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-accepting-pre-orders-first-scrypt-miner-titan/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CoinDesk+%28CoinDesk+-+The+Voice+of+Digital+Currency%29

100Mhs scrypt for $10,000.00 in Q2/Q3. They are also offering to convert Neptunes to Titans. (Tellingly also, KnC has hinted they will begin accepting litecoin at some point in the future.)

Let me know if you are thinking about a GB for these. I'm assuming they'll end up shipping by June/July.

I'm getting very nervous about setting up my LA3M having read this thread. I was thinking about using Raspberry Pi, but I have no technical acumen whatsoever...

What are the honest chances of a noob getting this running in an evening?

With the included controller I was up and running in < 30mins.

I then took on a bit of a challenge to use RasPi instead of the controller..and have been learning bits and pieces over the past few weeks.  So many people on this forum and litecointalk have helped to educate me and for that I'm forever grateful!  Linux doesn't have to be a big scary monster after all.  Smiley

Was it worth the investment if your time? I am busy enough with life stuff that I would have to sacrifice sleep hours to educate myself. I was thinking of just doing the supplied controller and getting a smartphone reboot wall plug thingy.

Thanks also to everyone else for their replies.

I've been running the first few weeks with the LA controller and the only modification being to wire 10 plugs per PSU (scrypt only!). I also ran it with the Belkin WeMo 'smartphone reboot wall plug thingy' which is necessary if you are not around to power cycle dead/frozen miners. Although this became less of an issue with V2 of the LA controller firmware.

So if you just want to get hashing ASAP then you should have minimal issues with the supplied equipment.

Many people here see this as a hobby, i am one of those guys. So I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting intimate with RasPi, building some kind of custom case (taking some ideas from Spotswood and Eric Kenedy here) and learning how to splice PCIE cables safely.

My goal is to have my 60 gridseeds, 6 USB hubs and 3 RasPis all in the same custom case, running off one ATX PSU.

Wow, I wish I had that kind of hashing power!

10 gridseeds and 10 dualminers will have to suffice for now....

Let me understand correctly--I need to buy a PSU in addition to the LA3m kit?

Mine came in today as well.  No duty Smiley

Set it up in about 1 hour, however I trashed the controller and used my RPi with Scripta.  Works like a charm.

Currently running at 850, but I will try 900.  We don't need fans right?  I can remove them if I am only running Scrypt I think.  Cut down on noise and save energy.

Would you be willing to take me through the paces with a raspberry pi install?ps know where to get rasp Pi in toronto?

I have never worked with Pi or Linux that said--would be willing to tip...

Ps you know each miner has their own sweet spot for MHz? Worldlybedouin has written about it on the tech thread.

330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitoin could worth more than half a million dollars each on: March 17, 2014, 07:47:17 PM
Hmmm 500K seems unlikely to me.

In the "future" is incredibly broad, well, it's infinitely broad, unless you don't subscribe to the cold expansion theory of the universe, or if you consider time to be indistinguishable from subatomic motion given that circumstance.

Even 50-100 years from now, the concepts of money and value may be totally different and media of exchange will be trinkets of a bygone era, which could be instead subsumed/governed by per-determined quantum computers calculating every possible circumstance/variable on earth to predict the future. Human agency--in any capacity financial or otherwise--may end up a fetish in that time frame.

Anyway, I digress.

I'll make a prediction that we will see 1200 again in the next 6 months, and then 2000 in 12 months, with a dip to 1000 after 12 months, and then a slow steady rise to double the value of gold, where it will stay for some time to come.

Total spitballing though....

Hi Karanveer:

I want to be certain of something with respect to your email:

Is this getting a) received by your first or b) shipped direct to my address?

If it is going straight to my address, it really needs to be marked as $60.00 or less and marked as a gift, as we pay 13% of the cost in import duties in Canada over this amount.

With an import duty of ~$500.00 on this as it is not originating on a NAFTA country, you might have a bunch of unhappy people in this group buy if you don't address this as they are expecting this to be a all-in cost including shipping.

I'm interested in one share of GB2 or GB3 at .15 (that includes transfer fee).

How about 1 each in GB 4 and 5 for .5BTC?

That is just an extra GPU frame... I am making some kick ass gridseed cases  Grin

Show me when done. Would spend 40 on a decent solution.
