321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coins Necessary? on: May 01, 2019, 11:43:28 PM
I think the current approach (tethering) of stable coin is silly. The stable coin for USD is USD itself. USD is also digitized and available electronically. We don't need another digital version of it created by a bank. The stability problem with crypto currency like Bitcoin is its deflationary paradox. If we remove that condition, we'll have a coin that behaves like USD.
322  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: April 30, 2019, 11:14:23 PM
I'm running a NewPac miner on a mac with cgminer. It creates a few blocks. Then it starts to give me: GSH 0 failure, disabling!... "failed to initialise" error. I'm running with a low frequency (--gekko-newpac-freq 50). I'm using vhoang/cgminer brew build. The command I use:

cgminer -o http://127.0.0.1:8332 -u user -p pw --btc-address ... --gekko-newpac-freq 50

Any pointer?

This is such a nice tutorial, but doesn't this would means that it will increase the number of low quality coins to be increase even more if more and more people able to create one for them self.

I'm still in the process of creating a new coin, Bitflate, https://github.com/bitflate/bitflate. It's not as easy as following steps. The biggest challenge to come is the infrastructure to support a coin.

I'm working on a bitcoin-based stable coin. Our approach is to use inflation to create stable price. I think the price would fluctuates even with inflation. But overtime, it'll be stable.

We're looking for contributors (dev, marketer).

The hardest part that people often miss is: You have to mine your own Genesis block. Here's a guide to mine your own Genesis block.

326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Bitflate - crypto with inflation on: February 16, 2019, 12:23:38 AM
Hello,

I'm working on a new Bitcoin derivative, Bitflate. The main difference: It inflates 7% per year. The project's goal is to create a stable crypto currency, stable coin through inflation.

It has the following differences:

- It creates 19,3 million coins in the first 4 halvings.
- In subsequent halvings, coins inflate 7%.
- Proof of Work timespan is 3.5 days. We want 1-year halving interval.

What is Bitflate?

Bitflate is a Bitcoin-based crypto currency. Bitflate has inflated supply.

Bitflate chain is separate and has no relationship with Bitcoin chain.

Why Bitflate?

Bitcoin has a supply limit of 21 million coins. This limit creates a value puzzle for Bitcoin. When all bitcoins are mined, there’s 0 coin reward. This means the value of a bitcoin can be infinite.

Bitcoin encourages HODL behavior. It’s being seen as a Store of Value (SoV). We believe other cryptocurrencies with a supply limit would behave as a SoV.

The goal is to create a stable crypto currency, stable coin through inflation.

By adding inflation, we can:

- Prevent price from fluctuating wildly.
- Discourage HODL behavior, increase liquidity.
