321  Economy / Gambling / Re: I am done! on: December 21, 2015, 06:14:21 PM
Gambling is frustrating but the problem that most people have is not knowing when to stop.  When they are losing money they want to break even so the spend more money and in most cases lose more and when they are winning they get greedy and try to win more but end up losing it all.  It's all about self control!

You dont ever have to worry about stopping if you manage you money right.  Maybe people need to rethink their betting sizes that way you can play all the time and not ever worry.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: December 21, 2015, 05:43:09 PM
To me, the main difference between Dollar and bitcoin is the former is supported by weapons, the latter is enpowered by Internet.

True, one has a uture and one doesn't.  The trends show more and more people are looking for ways to avoid war. More and more people are finding out the dirty tactics of the elites to create war.  RIP fiat.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Waiting for the day when Amazon & eBay accept BTC on: December 21, 2015, 04:23:16 PM
If Amazon and Ebay start to accept BTC as a currency then we will see the user base multiply very quickly, in turn causing BTC to hit all time highs.

Amazon pays around half all their entire profit yearly just for the transaction fees of the current payment systems they accept, using BTC would greatly increase their profit margin.

It might help to make Bitcoin a bit more popular, but I can't see Amazon making the Bitcoin userbase at least double. The price will most likely rice due to the fact that it is very good news, with a peak as result. People can already purchase stuff with Bitcoin at Amazong via purse.io.

It might be that open bazaar has a bigger long term effect on the price with people keeping their money in bitcoin.  Amazon/ebay would always be big news though.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Waiting for the day when Amazon & eBay accept BTC on: December 21, 2015, 11:03:45 AM
This is just a fantasy of mine.

Since the split of ebay and paypal, buyers have been looking forward to more payment choices. I wonder if bitcoin is one of the considerations.

Amazon buyers with bitcoins have been using purse.io to get cheaper goods. I wonder how the implementation of bitcoin payment is going to impact the prices of bitcoins.

What we need is for bitcoin to be used on paypal like any other fiat currency that is more important and then should make using bitcoin everywhere easy even if paypal have to convert before the buyer buying.

326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Homosexuality is caused by being molested on: December 19, 2015, 02:11:38 PM
Wow, I can't believe how stupid people can be here in the forum. I really find this offensive and of all places I didn't thought I'd find something like this in this kind of forum.

+1

The connections of logic in some of the posts is very interesting indeed.

Everyone is a mixture of gay/straight. Nobody is truly gay or straight.  Even if the straightest of straight guys decided to have gay sex as a test and found out he did not like it he still isn't 100% straight beause life does not work like this. We dont have all nice neat social boxes/catergories we live in from birth to death.

Everyone in this thread is partly gay, example.... think of all the times you have appreciated another mans insights on life, in that moment you are enjoying the concept of man you gay bastard.   Example, the circle jerk that happened when Andreas Antonopoulus spoke at the canadian senate - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUNGFZDO8mM  That circle jerk over him and his presenation was perhaps warranted, his insights were excellent, is it partly gay to rave about him though?..... emmmmm yeah it is.  Dont go saying its not partly gay because you only wanted his brain and not his cock.

327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Download BTC wallet so SLOW on: December 18, 2015, 07:48:03 PM
I have redownload my wallet of BTC since a few weeks.
The download of my bitcoin wallet took a few days. In the beginning that went very fast, but the last years that had to be downloaded went very slowly.
Since about two weeks my wallet was completely downloaded and up to date.
But now every 2 - 3 days i try to download the last blocks.
It takes however almost 1 hour or even more to download a day.
Is that normal?

One of my older laptop tooks well over a week to download the enitre blockchain, must have cost a few quid in electric ha.

I think the first one is the best but if the gray background is removed like the one with the green font it will stand out more.

Agree with that.

Another week down for me.

Communism has such a bad rep, its just a word or idea after all.  In capitalist systems ofcourse communism is going to get a rough run.  Its a good idea we just haven't worked out to do it properly imo.
331  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: December 17, 2015, 11:00:43 AM
In one of the topics I read "If bitcoin will reach $10.000, fiat currency has become worthless"
Do you agree with this statement?

There are many stocks that go up this high and dont create a big impact on the market. Fiat will be worthless when 1 bitcoin is worth unlimited fiat.  But i think if we started to hit $50k+ things will get interesting.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 17, 2015, 10:56:49 AM
yeah Leicester will not be champions this season, they will lose with manchester city, arsenal, liverpool and MU who have lots of money to buy some of the star players in the upcoming transfer window and this is clearly going to further increase the strength of their respective

They have beat alot of top club but if they only manage to get a draw only from all this top club then they will keep getting points and could become the champions. IMO their aim for european league only will get them alot of funds coming in and sponsors as well
Leicester are the luckiest team in premier league ever, they may have some quality player and a good touch from their manager Ranieri.
But usually the team like this can't survive in top table due some key players get injured, so far Leicester didn't have any injured key player and i call it as a lucky.

They also have to escape the january transfer window without anyone coming in for massive bids for any key players. If a big clubs starts offering big money nobody is turning that down.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way for small online shop to accept Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2015, 05:44:25 PM
If the transaction volume is so low, why not setup a wallet address to send the coins to and an alert for any movements to that wallet?

I would like to accept bitcoins as bitcoins also but this is just not a nice smooth process for buyer or seller.  Whats also a potential problem is that people send less than the amount they should, then you have emails back and forth.  Not good for high volume.
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2k in january on: December 16, 2015, 11:29:43 AM
why do you think that the block reward halving will have this kind of effect on price?

We have the previous block halving to go by and we also have other alt coins to go by.  People are invested in the network before halving and after halving they change nothing, so the price goes up since the supply is less.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 16, 2015, 11:24:10 AM
Leicester City for Champion this year?

I hope so but they could be doing like what west ham did the other year.  Very hard to maintain.  If they lose Jamie Vardy or Riyad Mahrez to injury they probably stop the run.

Still betting on Arsenal myself.
336  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2015-12-14: Do you think we have broken out of the long-term bear market? on: December 15, 2015, 01:35:09 PM
Yes or no?

Yes, even if you have almost no technical skills all you have to do is draw a rough approx trend line down on the weekly chart and you will see we broke out of the down trend ages ago.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 15, 2015, 01:32:44 PM
Leicester City has played 7 games at home in EPL and lost only 1, while Chelsea has played 7 games away and won only 1 so far. So my bet would be on Leicester City +0.5 @ 1.657.

That was an easy win with a good enough odds. I have said this 2 months ago but let me reiterate it again: It is time for bookmakers and sports bettors to face the truth that Chelsea is no longer the great team we saw last season.

Its strange but maybe players like terry, cesc and costa are just past their best and these were key players last season.  They put in all the effort to win the league last year and got lazy over the summer come back not hungry to fight again, its possible.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on sport = gambling? on: December 15, 2015, 01:30:27 PM
Betting on sport = gambling?
Please write your mind.

If you are good enough over a period of time you can become a advantage gambler, its not really gambling though when you have +ev combined with bankroll management.  What it boils down to semantics.  I consider +ev not gambling and -ev gambling personally.  Some advantage gamblers have safer bets mathmatically vs house buying or working in a job for a living so doesn't seem lke gambling to me.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone buy during $1200? on: December 15, 2015, 10:23:13 AM
Hey all, just as the title says, did anyone buy bitcoin when it's price was at it's peak ($1200)? And did they sell as it was dropping, or did they still hold on? I personally felt something was happening when it peaked :-/

So, back to the topic. Did anyone buy, and did they sell as it dropped? How much did they lose? Did you feel really really sad? What kind of an emotional impact did it have on you?

Tons of people bought at $1200 i think its safe to say judging by the volumes on exchanges at the time.  I think i bought a couple @ $900 myself, my feelings are i just went numb to price and tbh i dont really care until we see $3k or $5k.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $450 - $500 means many of us are now even or ahead on: December 15, 2015, 10:20:48 AM

Reply to the title question...

You also have to consider many are still behind at $600 or $700 due to mtgox.  I think we need to see $800 before the majourity of people can safely say they are even.
