321  Other / Off-topic / Re: Know when to stop on: February 24, 2024, 04:24:33 PM
Continue gambling until your money is finish in the gambling center before you can stop gambling, show that addicted to gambling is not far from such gamblers because the best way to gamble is to gamble and still remain some money to gamble another day.

If you want to make huge amount of money from gambling, don't spend more than 1 hours in the gambling center either winning or loosing because, the more time you spend in the gambling center, it can lead you to borrow money to gamble and it will make you regret.
What I think about this is that it is not always about addiction that makes a gambler gambling with all the money he has left with nothing before they can stop and go home. Some persons just have that feeling of using the last cash at hand to try their luck and it's funny at times (not most of the times) that the last cash trial could just be a saving grace for the gambler making a winning that puts him in recovery feat.

Spending so much time in the gamble house is not my thing though and I don't understand how those other people that spend the whole of their day in gamble house staking one game to another feel about their habit, or maybe they are without a job and just want to keep self busy spending the whole time there. I don't know.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency. on: February 24, 2024, 02:46:27 PM
Just looking at the wave of cryptocurrency and going with the rate of adoption, where do you all see the future of cryptocurrency in the next 20years or more from now. Are transactions going to be more of in cryptocurrency than fiat in all ramifications of society as it concerns finance?
Basically, it would be predicted that cryptocurrencies will take good percentage of day to day transactions in the society but from my perspective and in the interval which you specifically mention I can't really tell what will be the out come.

From the efforts the governments are puting to regulate the crypto space I wouldn't be confident enough to predict what will be the nearest out come in 20yrs. although it maybe that the future generations will be mostly be part of cryptocurrencies but in this current generation the government are trying to put Bitcoin and the rest of the coins that are mostly decentralized in to extension that people will not longer be able to do transactions freely around the world but I'm also very optimistic about Bitcoin and I believe it's going to prove the centralized authorities wrong.
The huge challenge with cryptocurrency is the government, they just want to control everything even to our bedrooms which is very crazy. They overlook the advantages that cryptocurrency posseses only concentrating on the regulatory and centralized power they are denied of by the digital currency otherwise 20years from now ought to be feasible for crypto investors to be with certainty that cryptocurrency would have by then penetrated and sink into all financial levels doing business in the society.
323  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Conspiracy theory...Binance in the spotlight...Should we be worried? on: February 23, 2024, 10:09:20 PM
From the link in the op as read, binance claims that it's action is to protect it' users, now the real question that underlies is that, who are these users the binance exchange is claiming to protect? Because from all I see is that binance is only playing to the coercive tone of the Naija government and to indirectly save itself from the troubles of the government leaving it users to bear the conditional effect of this so-called market capping. Another indication of the true color of what a centralized system can be.
324  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the benefit of taking hard drugs on: February 23, 2024, 09:50:20 PM
Hard drug could be so destructive to the life of person involved in it's intake, mostly when it's not administered by a health technician per say a qualified doctor having the condition that warrant the injection or intake of hard drug under scientific control. These hard drugs such as cocaine, marijuana etc has bad effect on the health and social behavior of the consumer it's usually a gradual process then it finally destroys you. I think a lot of potentials has been cut short due to hard drug and while many lives are lost and destroyed to it others are making bastard money from it as dealers.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find and hold in Atlcoin effectively? on: February 23, 2024, 06:25:10 PM
This is my process for finding an Altcoin (new project) for long-term investment

Having said that, because of the lack of utility in altcoins, i buy only Bitcoin, but if i must advise people on altcoins, i'd tell them to purchase altcoins that have been in the market for sometime and already have a "strong" community.

The steps that is listed in the OP are helpful tips to choosing altcoins to buy, however as you've also noted, an investor can use the strategies and end up buying scam projects or new projects that are legit from the beginning later they're value will end up becoming worthless. The fact is that new projects are risky, even after researching them, they might end up not being profitable in the long run. Like you if I plan to buy altcoins, it'll have to be the ones that have proven their reputations in the crypto market, like Bitcoin, because I like to minimize my risks.
@kelward you have just hit the nail direct about moat altcoins we have in the market, you will after all research and analysis has been done find reasons to believe that the coin was going to be a profitable coin due to the potential it showed but only to find out on the long run after invested that it didn't do as expected. There was no significant rise whatsoever, some even fall in value from the price you had initially bought and just remians there. If any investor must have to diversify his crypto investment from bitcoin to another altcoin outside ethereum which has proven scalability and more over the years I don't see myself picking at any altcoins for a long term right now, maybe not just now.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency. on: February 23, 2024, 05:48:44 PM
can you imagine if your grandma could easily buy her groceries with bitcoin? That would be wild.

That is the last stage of cryptocurrency in which everyone is waiting for. Once cryptocurrency is accepted by the market women then the financial revolution will be resolved at once. But it will be hard for our grandmas to use cryptocurrency unless they will have someone behind to assist them. So fiat will still be use side by side with cryptocurrency because not the Grandmas and Grandpas.
I don't worry about the very elderly not been able to make use of cryptocurrency as it's very possible they can learn as there's no much of a  difficulty in the process, they can through the idea of fiat transactions they have been used to find it easy to make use of crypto. Where the worry should be coming from is in the aspect of transaction fees assuming where I want to spend a dollar to buy a grocery what could the transaction fee for it be using crypto.

Op buying and selling of accounts in this forum  is prohibited and you should know better that if caught, the account you spent money in buying would be ban or tagged. So I recommend you luck this thread. ]
It is actually not prohibited (prohibited meaning:banned, forbidden)  but members are however discouraged from buying and selling of accounts. Check number 18 of the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

Despite that, I also condemn in strong terms the buying and selling of account for personal reasons I don't feel like expatiating on.
329  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are children born out of wedlock is still a blessing from God? on: February 22, 2024, 08:49:26 PM
The Bible which is the  Holy book of the Christain faith says in one of it's chapter's that Children are an heritage from God. Mind you it didn't categorize it that children born in wedlock are an heritage from God but it  was rather a general statement to both those born in and out of wedlock.  I have known many individuals that were born out of wedlock that are today the backbone of their immediately family financially they are now the builders of the family that through them those born in wedlock are now growing financially too. So all children irrespective of under what category they were conceived and birthed are all a blessing from the Almighty.
330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If there was no government to govern us (humans) on: February 22, 2024, 08:39:15 PM
At some points, I wonder how the world would be without a governance, I don't care to know about histories of how politics and government has been in existence before these days.
My interest is ... Could we (humans) had lived a peaceful soul here on earth without a governing body and no laws?
You don't want to know about the history of the past  how politics and government has been in existence before this days but you want us to postulate or propose how society could be in the future should there be no governing body and laws. Op don't forget that you can't know where you're going if you don't know where you're coming from.

Op here's  a quick rhetorical question to trouble you with based on your post.
Imagine this forum to be the society you're talking and capture it in a situation where there's no working laws and mods and admins working behind the curtain as governing bodies regulating the forum against the spams, trolls and shit posts generated in the forum, how do you think the forum is going to be like?
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think on: February 22, 2024, 08:28:45 PM
The crypto market is currently no longer in a bearish phase. Although I see that current market conditions are not very bullish. This can be seen from the Bitcoin price movement which has experienced another price increase where the Bitcoin price is currently above $41k. Therefore, I believe the bearish phase has ended and now the market is heading into a bullish phase.
Some people still are not certain we have completely entered the bullish  phase due to how the bullish trend isn't moving in the speed they had pictured in their mind towards the bullish market and with the approval of the ETF yet nothing close to a $100k range as was widely speculated by many before the bitcoin spot ETF approval. The bullish season has already started, look at the chart today and bitcoin price, it is rumoured the price might equally reach to the price of the last ATH before the next halving sets in.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest in new project? on: February 22, 2024, 08:12:16 PM
The tide of new coins is always flowing and almost every day I see new coin promotions. Thousands of such old coins are now dead so if you are more excited about crypto investment you should definitely buy new coins. If you research you will find that many good coins are entering the market through ido at this time. You can purchase all those tokens if you want. Before the bull market comes some new coins will enter the crypto market and they will give good profit in the bull market.
It is easier said than done, in the sense that we are open to the accessibility of countless number of new coins into the market on a daily basis but we are not privy to knowing which will for sure as a project brings in profit when invested. I could remember vividly prior to the last bull run a close friend bought a certain coin (unfortunate I don't recall the exact coin) at $400 in the expectation that in the bull run the coin will rise to a valuable figure but unfortunately till date it hasn't, rather it drop in value and he told me he keeps checking on it hoping someday. It's just sadden this friend has accepted yet that he bought a shit coin.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where did u put your Money ? on: February 22, 2024, 07:58:40 PM
If you are investing in altcoins you don't have to invest for short term but long term investment so that the dip you will buy will be a good profit for you in the years to come.
Investing in altcoins for a long term isn't a guarantee that you're going to make profit no matter how long you have to wait if the coin doesn't have the potential to gain value to bring ROI to the investor then it's all a waste of time. More importantly altcoins are not advisable for a long term plan but rather they are much desirable for short term investment if you're lucky to decipher a coin with a growth potential.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price approaches $3k on: February 21, 2024, 10:03:24 PM
There's something about News in this crypto industry, it has a way of affecting the market specifically a coin the news is designated for, and the rise of ethereum to 3k is not unconnected to the spot ETF as rumored to be approved by at most may this year. Same thing happened with bitcoin at the peak of approval of the bitcoin spot ETF and later there was a price correction and I think it could be same with ethereum price experiencing a correction after this 3k rise due to the ETF news.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick profit is the only reason why we invest in Altcoins on: February 21, 2024, 09:27:47 PM
Almost all of crypto investors are there for the making of profit and that's why they are invested in crypto and this doesn't exempt bitcoin hodlers as much as it on altcoins investors. But the difference between those invested in bitcoin is that they do this with a long term investment plan unlike altcoins 99% of the investors are in to hit and run ASAP that's why we find it hard to see most of these new generation coins surviving after a little period of launching, as it get launched and makes it maiden rise almost all investors invested in it take profits and capital and the next result is an imminent dump
336  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Forex Crisis: FG plans to clampdown on Binance, and other crypto exchanges on: February 21, 2024, 08:43:41 PM
I just got a notification in one of the news outlet that Binance has accepted to work with Nigerian government to clamp down or Naira to Dollar dealers , which is the p2p aspect of Binance.

This was contained in this article by Peoples Gazett : https://gazettengr.com/binance-confirms-working-with-tinubu-govt-to-block-dollar-naira-exchange/.
This is apparently one of the many defects of centralized exchanges why we encourage cryptocurrency users to never to bunk or take them serious with your bulk asset there. Imagine how they without hesitation succumb to the whims of the government at the detriment of their customers. Truth is the don't really give a f*ck about us come may whatever policy from the f*cking government.

But the joke is on binance anyway, their customer base will be affected negatively as many Nigerians now will be scouting somewhere in another exchange platform for the Naira-Dollar p2p service. The Nigeria government should focus within for the solution of their economic problems now impacting negatively on the naira and stop intimidating exchangers for the results of their own poor decisions over the years.
337  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Is this ideal? on: February 21, 2024, 01:54:52 PM
EFCC arrests Abuja BDC operators as naira nears 1,600/$
They are looking for solutions, they resorted to a temporary solution as usual. This will solve nothing
The immediate past administration and this very one have always resorted to action that are laughable to the knowledge of economists when they hear about this moves because these are not the problems to the fall of the Naira value. It's all a goose chase that clamping down on BDC is one of many resourceful actions that the government could have taken to tackle the Naira to dollar issue. I am poise to ask sometimes who are their economic advisers and where do they acquired their degrees from because is stupid doing same thing and expecting a different results.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 21, 2024, 01:39:57 PM
Hey everyone! I've got $1000 to invest before the next bull market kicks in. Should I spread it across five different coins or go all in on just one? What are your top picks for either strategy?
Just $1000 and you want to spread across many coins in anticipation of the bull run what do you think could be your ROI with that amount spread. Two things involved are that; firstly you might spread major part of the money into  bad coins and not make any profits eventually, secondly, you instead devote the total sum to bitcoin and hold for long not only for this bull run but one after this and make your profit wild.  Right now with all the tension in the market it's a highly risky period to spot out altcoins with potential to grow value except you want to hold on to ethereum which is the only altcoin I can advise a newbie to hold on to for a while.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano vs Ethereum on: February 21, 2024, 01:30:19 PM
Now the question should be which among this two altcoins is the vanguard of altcoins, Ethereum, right. And Ethereum didn't just attain such feat overnight there are performance it has given the user+base over time which I believe Cardano is yet to get close to despite how Cardano has been doing great in value recently. If you ask any cryptocurrency user that aside from bitcoin what other coin can he comfortably hold for long perhaps for the next 2 years or so without fears, the conviction is that almost every one will go for ethereum. And they will have many substantial reasons for that.
340  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 21, 2024, 01:04:38 PM
From my little activeness over here in the forum and my involvement in gambling I have been seeing some changes in me and it's gradually beginning not to please me anymore I don't know If I will say I am becoming too emotional with my funds but sometimes it's very painful to place a bet for about 2 to 5 consecutive times no winning and this is what is beginning to me make feels sad. I know is a game of luck but sometimes whatever we do and not feels happy we should try to quit it.
Why get too emotional about it, like don't you have other means of enjoying your time I mean with family, friends or acquaintance. You're getting too emotional that's because you're giving so much of your time to gamble, try and share your time as you won't only be saving self from being too emotional therefore leading to addiction but also be saving money you're currently losing due to the number of times you do gamble a day.

Moreso, I think you're feeling sad at each loss not just because of the amount of money you lose but because you placing too much expectations on your bets and that's it's in your disappointments that your sadness is emanating from. I think you should take a break to rediscover your purpose for gambling and how you have to manage every outcome.
