321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Exchange App Rewards a Good Opportunity? on: August 07, 2024, 10:57:45 PM
I decided to take a break from degen and alt trading, but I still don’t want to pass the days without anything at hand. Recently, I’ve been seeing events on Twitter with captivating captions, but I doubt their legitimacy. While double-checking some, I saw one that includes downloading an exchange app to qualify for rewards, but I’m a little skeptical about going for it. What do you think of such events? Am I wasting my time, or could it be worth something?
I have also seen such promotion in social media which requires downloading the app of an exchange as part of the requirements to qualify for reward. It is the way the exchange expand their user base if it is the exchange running the promotion directly or another way individuals earn from the referral program of the exchange when you sign up in their exchange using their unique referral link. Most of the times, the effort put into this and the reward that comes with it do not correspond thereby making it a waste of time. But as it does not involve putting money into it but time and energy, I think it is not bad after all. But care must be taken because scammers or phishing attempt can be planned through these methods.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Many altcoins may not recover this fall. on: August 07, 2024, 11:28:26 AM
Normally with the fall of bitcoin price towards $50k in the recent days all altcoins took the downtrend falling in reciprocation to bitcoin, and I see many people in a hurry to buy some altcoins and hold believing that when bitcoin rises up again they can make some significant profits.
I have been a victim of this in the past, a situation where I thought altcoins will move faster and give bigger profit than Bitcoin, hence I bought then instead of buying Bitcoin. Regrettably, some of them died in my wallet and ai never got the chance to sell at profits. Such experience is the reason I'm mostly Bitcoin now because I realised it is better to grow my investment gradually than to pursue quick profits and end up making mistakes that will cost me money.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: August 06, 2024, 06:48:35 PM
^

Many of us not only gamble, but also like to spend time with friends in a bar with your favorite alcoholic beverage. It often happens that after a fun party you wake up in a state of acute intoxication (weakness, nausea, bad mood, etc.). Yesterday you had great fun and spent money like never before, and in the morning you feel worse than ever.

Approximately the same thing happens after losing, but this does not mean that during the gambling session you did not get positive emotions.

Everything has to be paid for and gambling is no exception.
I find it hard understanding the correlation you are giving. Gambling does not give the same feeling as partying, drinking and all that because while those are purely leisure, gambling is more of business. It is either you are excited in gambling or you are in pain and the excitement in gambling comes mostly from winning whereas losing brings more of pain except for those who are addicted and gamble mostly as an obligation because they cannot help themselves, their pain coming only when they have lost it all. Therefore, I don't think there is fun in losing while gambling.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we deposit crypto why our bet is in USD? on: August 06, 2024, 05:39:44 PM
I do wonder the same thing too but after carefully looking at it, I realized it is that way to make it uniform for all platform users. Some casinos have many deposit options and accept many cryptocurrency for deposit, if there is no unification, I think it might become complex to manage. This is the reason casinos convert everything to dollars and allow game to played in fiat currency but at the point of withdrawal, there is usually the option to withdraw to the cryptocurrency or means of deposit; this is fair enough for me.
325  Economy / Reputation / Re: Woodie & BitcoinHunt3r on: August 06, 2024, 12:52:38 PM
This does not worth making a post in the reputation board because it is simply a distraction. I will advise the OP to lock this thread because there is no point in it. I do not know when it became an offence to use the same username in different platforms that will warrant it creating a thread in reputation board. It is obvious you don't even know that reputation board is for people with questionable character in the form of violation of forum rules. Several usernames in this forum are similar and there is no issue with that provided there is no violation of the forum rules.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: August 06, 2024, 04:13:32 AM
If you are asking between old and new investors, who's going to complain more about the fluctuation of Bitcoin then I'd say that new investors are more likely to complain more because old investors has been in the market longer and they know how it works. An old investor would feel disappointed and frustrated but only to an extent because they are sure that Bitcoin will always raise and they will never sell off their hodlings out of panic and fear of losses but a new investor knows absolutely nothing about how the market works and are more likely to experience the sense of loss or disappointment and potentially regretful about investing in Bitcoin as they were expecting Bitcoin to continue raising or at least be stable at the top and could be forced to sell their hodlings fearing further price drops.
Yes it is true that new investors sell their investments on Emotionally. That is why those who are new to investing are advised to acquire knowledge and analyze investments properly. A new investor complains when the price of any coin i.e. Bitcoin falls during investment because he may not be experienced about it.
I don't agree with you that new investors will liquidate their investment emotionally because that depends entirely on their conviction before they got started. Some newbies started their Bitcoin investment with the right mindset and strong conviction, hence they started the investment on the premise of long term. Take for example, a newbie investor who want to start Bitcoin investment and came to this forum for the necessary information, such newbie would have learnt some of the important lessons that most of us known by engaging in discussions on the various threads that focuses on how to go about investing in Bitcoin. Things like the DCA method, buying the dips, how to set up emergency funds and how to make good use of market corrections to collect more Bitcoin instead of panicking during such times. From the knowledge and experience of older investors, such new investor will already know how to navigate a market profile like we have now even better than some old investor especially those who buy and sell at the sight of profits.

327  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: August 05, 2024, 10:08:15 PM
I don't think you should be concerned about others sentiment because even though the price has gotten a huge DIP so far, some people will still be waiting for more further DIP or will be dreaming of a massive dump before they can buy and they will keep on exaggerating before they know it the price will recover again and they end up not still buying at the DIP price they have been waiting for. Those who will buy Bitcoin despite the entry price will still buy whether there's a DIP or not so don't be too concerned about those procrastinators in the name of waiting for a DIP price to buy.
Even though we don't know how far the market will dip, I think anyone serious with buying the dips should have had majority of his orders filled by now that market moved from $70k few days ago to $50k today which is a price differential of about $20k, representing 28.6% drop in price. If this is not dip to anyone, maybe the person is expecting a bear season before he consider that a dip. What the market is doing now is correction and for an asset like Bitcoin that is very volatile, over 20% drop in price is a huge retracement and a good opportunity to take buy positions. It is possible the price will go lower than this or and it is possible it will not but the main point is that anyone buying the dips out to have taken some good positions by now, keeping just a small fraction of his fiat should the market go lower.

Anyone who is panicking now that a DIP is happening does not even understand the reason why they have Bitcoin because it's either they lack courage or they are hoping for the price to skyrocket so that they can sell. Why monitoring or viewing your portfolio when you already know that corrections are meant to happen in the price of Bitcoin. The earlier we develop a strong confidence in the ability of Bitcoin to survive despite all criticisms and hateful words from the enemies of Bitcoin, the better for us all. I don't see the reason why anyone should panic about the decline in the price of Bitcoin. It is a normal phenomenon.
Most of the lessons from this thread is how not to panic especially in a time like this because it is nothing new. Consequently, when we see this market condition, instead of panic, it should be a time to make smart decision that produces more Bitcoin to the collection at very discounted prices. Besides, it is also at the core of our discussion here that provisions should be made for a time like this so that we will never have any reason to fret or feel any urge to sell when we do not plan to do that. The present market condition is rather a good opportunity for more investments and not a time to panic.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: August 04, 2024, 07:50:20 PM
I agree with you here. There is nothing more important than an investment that is risk-free and where emotions are not attached.
Apparently, there is no investment without risk or in your words risk-free investment because as long as investment is concerned there is some kind of risk attached to it. it's either one is ignorant of it or intentionally ignored the obvious signs of risk but basically in bitcoin investment we are only on a better angle of not gambling our investments but staking it for the future which we are guaranteed for with the four years circle that we know.

Since investments are of risk, bitcoin invest too is full of risk such as wallet security etc.
I agree with you most on the aspect of all investments having some elements of risk. That is true and Bitcoin is no exception as there are things that can still happen and make it risky. However, I do not understand what you mean by staking Bitcoin and that word alone sounds like what I love to avoid. Staking I know is done in centralized exchanges, where you are required to deposit your precious Bitcoin in the exchange where it is locked for a specific period of time with a promise of returns of certain percentage of your capital. It is not worth it if you ask me, instead one should rather hold the Bitcoin in his private wallet where it is safe and secured.

I will never recommend staking in centralized exchanges because it is like exposing your Bitcoin to risk, at least it is too big a risk to take over a promise of small return on investment; if anything goes wrong with the exchange, the loss will be 100% of the investment.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tension that comes on the last game/s. on: August 04, 2024, 11:37:25 AM
I shared my thoughts on this thread yesterday. And I said I have another bet is on, and I will also share it if I won the bet. Though there was a cashout of 29k on the ticket yesterday but I didn't cash it out, and I was tempted to cashout the game.
Gamble is really fun when you win no matter whether you are gambling for fun or not. There is this kind of tension that always comes when the last game is on and they are not playing according to how you predicted them. Share your thoughts.
Just want to say lucky me.
You won the bet and if I'm right, the last game won convincingly and that made me a little confused regarding the caption. Personally, last games have always been my nightmare; I have had my bets spoilt by the last game more than anything else and I wonder if there is any gambler that have not had their fair share of this issue of last game. It usually comes with high tension which is worst if you are watching the match or streaming it live.

If I win this your amount now, this weekend is gamed. Well congratulations on winning 8+ odds.
330  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Invest in Bitcoin: Our Monetary system is F*cked - This is not a drill on: August 04, 2024, 07:56:37 AM
Nigeria problem is too big and the leaders don't even know how to tackle it because we have incompetent and corrupt leaders whose focus is to syphon our funds through any means possible. The problem of Nigeria is that we are a consuming country and that is what is affecting us. During Covid-19 US experts said that Nigeria is be in a high recession in time to come. I believe this is the time that we are in because our leaders don't consider producing but loves to take loans and print money carelessly. Imagine how much is in Emeiefele custody because he was the latest guy who printed our money and claim that the old ones are no longer in use. Where are the old ones he collect from banks last year before the presidential election.

We wey dey forum go fit buy bitcoin and invest in am small small but what about people wey dey outside forum wey no even get enough money to cop how them go solve the problem of inflation. No go use money wey you no need tomorrow buy bitcoin o, if not if you won sell am and bitcoin price dey down, na double loss because your Naira don devalue and your bitcoin come dip again.
Our country size isn't actually the problem sha, the major issues na corrupt leaders who aren't really idealistic and have short sited mentality about everything. Well as for the problem of buying coins that one na really big issue sha because the cost of living first for this country na really big problem and who never fight inflation finish and find wey to survive no go fit come gather money dey buy Bitcoin.
I have settled down to look at the Nigerian system and how leadership has deteriorated from the the time of Obasanjo till date, one thing that is clear is that there is external forces that messes with our institutions and the very foundation of our country such that they decide who rule the country and who will play their script when they install him there. I read a documentary (I can't lay hands on the link now) about our external debt profile and how Obasanjo was able to make Nigeria debt free from over $30 billion total debt but quickly after Jonathan down to this moment we have been systematically entangled in a total debt of about $90 billion, a debt that three generations will not be able to pay. At present we use over 80% of our revenue for debt servicing which means we will continue to get poorer as a nation and that will make our currency more miserable.

The worst thing is that there is no help in sight, the present government is confused. Tinubu was foisted on us to kuku finish us, if not of that, how will someone scatter the economy of a country on the first day of being sworn in as president? He was asked by the powers that be to devalue our Naira, remove fuel subsidy and float the Naira, him never sit well think about the implication and put measures in place to tackle the effect, he rushed to implement what the external forces told him. There is this figurative expression that says that "IMF is the doctor that heals by killing the patient", it is now making sense to me because Tinubu followed IMF script of development and killed our economy whereas China did the opposite of their recommendation and are now one of the best economy in the world. The case of Nigeria is a hopeless one and anyone saving in Naira is doomed.
331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: August 03, 2024, 11:52:40 AM
Also it is not compulsory that you take part of your bitcoin investment to diversify into other investments. You can use a different source of income to invest in other kind of investment and not from your bitcoin hodlings. This is why when you feel you have bought more than enough Bitcoin, you can them channel that money that you are using to buy bitcoin into a different investment to grow it so that let it not be that you are depending on only your bitcoin investment should incase the price of bitcoin goes against you.
I don't think any smart person will even consider selling his Bitcoin with the intention of investing the proceed in another business under the guise of diversification. That sounds irrational to me because I feel Bitcoin is among the best investment instruments I have seen. When people talk about diversification, what I understand is a situation whereby an invest set a target to achieve in Bitcoin investment say 1BTC or 10BTC, as the case maybe and after this has been achieved, the investors might decided to consider investing new cashflows at his disposal into another sector entirely such as stocks, real estate, agriculture or any other. This way, there will be no conflict in the wealth building process because it is well planned with the targets clearly defined. What I do not like is people investing in shitcoin and call it diversification; it is the same sector of which Bitcoin is the best among them.

I have a nice future plan about diversification such that when I hit my target in terms of Bitcoin accumulation, I will start investing massively in agriculture because farming is one thing I have passion for, to be able to grow my own food as well as profit from it. So this is a future plan due to limited financial resources, hence I have to establish my Bitcoin portfolio first before I start focusing on this long term dream.
332  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Telegram records millions of new users due to Crpto mining. on: August 02, 2024, 08:54:09 PM
But then everyone needs to be careful cause there would lots of scam sites on telegram claiming to be mining projects and lots of ignorant people would lose funds to scammers
Indeed, Nigrians need to be careful because a lot of scammers have seen a means to scam people through telegram. It's always one project or the other, with series of tasks and at the end the miner needs gas fee in ton to withdraw. Purchasing 0.14 ton is 2k.
Everyday I receive notification of my contacts joining Telegram and I know the reason is no other than the trending airdrops aka free money. Nigerians are trooping in their numbers even people who do not know basic security tips. I know that bad players will definitely use this time to obtain as many people as possible because not everyone of these new people know that most of the things being circulated as airdrops are not airdrop but phishing links.

Imagine when a project requires 0.5 ton as gas fee that's like 6k. Then people go ahead to pay these gas fees with hope from earning on the project listing just for the project to list dust.  We must research these projects thoroughly before I'm baking on them in order to avoid heartbreak.
I do not understand the aspect of airdrops requiring people to pay as high as $3 to withdraw. Whenever I see something like that, I always feel that it is how they plan to drain people of their Tons and might be the reason for the entire airdrop that is after people have helped them grow their social media and youtube channels. My little experience in this digital space has exposed me to a lot of things and made me realize that nothing is completely free. There is usually things to do or spend to get something.
333  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: August 02, 2024, 08:30:08 PM
I`m in it for a good 10 years from now anyway, so may as well just set-and-forget really, the thought of watching charts for the next 10 years really doesn`t appeal to me.
I know you are new to bitcoin investment, but I want you to know that since you are investing in bitcoin for the long term, there will be no need to read any charts before you can accumulate bitcoin because you are not accumulating bitcoin for short-term profit. Bitcoin investment is simple, and since you are a newbie or a new investor in bitcoin, I will advise you to accumulate bitcoin with the DCA strategy so that you will not need to time the market or read any charts to guide you to buy bitcoin at a low price, which may delay your bitcoin accumulation journey because the bitcoin price might not reduce to your entry point. With the DCA strategy, you can accumulate bitcoin even when the price is increasing or decreasing, and it will also help to control your emotions.
A little guide on how to go about it would have helped. Your advice to avoid looking at the chart always is valid and for new investor, it is not necessary to know how to ready the chart because it is just like a waste of time. Instead, he can buy from the exchanges using market execution if he choses to use the DCA method which is highly recommended for a new investor. If the option is to wait for dips before buying, this might also be good but a new investor should think more towards the DCA method which is more systematic and have some forms of discipline inherent in it.

In addition, he also have to pay attention to other things that will help him HODL not just how to buy. He might have good plans in terms of long term but if he did not make adequate preparations, such plans can be spoilt. There have been cases of people who plan to invest and hold but have no proper plan and in the end they sell their Bitcoin when issues arise. So, while we focus on buying, we should also make plans for how to protect the investment from sudden liquidation.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dull moment in gambling on: August 02, 2024, 03:47:32 PM
I was browsing on casino last night to find a game to play after my long inactivity on casino action due personal reason. I realized that I just keep browsing but can’t find a game that interests me.

I’m not sure what’s wrong. I think I lost my motivation to gamble due to my long rest from gambling. Right now, I’m just playing demo mode to try games. FYI, I

Do you ever feel dull moment in gambling too?
It happens when you stay away from gambling for a while, it will usually like as if you are starting all over again and that way you have to figure out the games you win easily and that can be tiring sometimes. If you are active in gambling, somehow you will build some strategy around the games by figuring out the games that works well for you at certain times of the day or things like that. Personally, I there are some games I love playing at night and some at day and that is how I get the desired result. If I take a long break from gambling, most of these things might have changed and using same pattern might not really work perfectly well; this care make the whole thing tiring.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: August 01, 2024, 09:03:23 PM
I think the market just offered us another opportunity to buy, buy and continue to collect more Bitcoin at a very reduced price. This does not come as a surprise to me though because I expected some corrections from ending of July to August but this will begin to change as we approach September, a month that is always seen as a positive month for Bitcoin. Both those using the DCA method and buying the dips have the chance to take advantage of the drop in price. This is not the time to panic but time to take actions that is intentional.
336  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [DUELBITS.COM] HAVEN'T GET $5050 WITHDRAWAL SINCE 29 AUG 2023 on: August 01, 2024, 04:48:29 PM
You have so much details on this so I doubt a friend will let you have access to such details including his emails but it is OK to represent a friend. As for this case, I think something is not clear here and only your friend can clarify it. And like some people already confirmed, coming to lay a clear one year after the event what I find strange and it raises a lot of concern regarding the legitimacy of your claim because someone that flipped $14 to $5k will not rest until his withdrawal is processed.

Meanwhile, what I think is most likely cause of the problem is the self-exclusion request by your friend. If this is looked into, it will not be far from the cause of the problem since your friend did not break any rules base on your explanation and the screenshot provided where the Duelbits support confirmed that also.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost all my selected matches after refreshing page on: August 01, 2024, 12:10:44 AM
Why not when you're doing your analysis write down your selections, then go on the site and put in your selections? Then you at least have a record of what you were/are going to wager on and wouldn't have to redo the research.

I'm sure it sucked to have to start all over, but if you try it my way you will not lose anything except a little extra time writing.
It may sound funny but if I write down my selection before I place the bets, I will lose the bet. I have lost count of how many times this has happened to me, so to avoid this, I usually play just few matches from few leagues. As a matter of fact, as the season starts, I will use the first 5 matches of each team to know their forms from there I will make my selection to bet every other week.

Seems the OP is in the habit of playing long slip and what he would have done was to book the game and copy the booking code so that when he wants to continue, he call up the game and add more selections.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't like the idea of governments holding millions of Bitcoins. on: July 31, 2024, 11:29:21 PM
I don't think it matters if you like it or not, Bitcoin is decentralized therefore accessible to anyone. If governments think it wise invest and hold Bitcoin, they can and I see them just like an individual holding Bitcoin. There is really no difference between government holding Bitcoin and big cooperations like MicroStrategy...

Your reference to what the authorities can do through regulations can still happen without them holding majority of Bitcoin. It is just a matter of time before countries start investing in Bitcoin, the signs are there already. As individuals, we should just prepare ourselves for that time and take advantage of the opportunities we have now.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Maduro is on risk of being toppled down. Any platform provides bet on this? on: July 31, 2024, 11:01:13 PM
No platform will take such risk because democracy rarely exist in those countries so anything goes. The only platform that could offer such option should be those located in Venezuela  but then, they will be exposing their business to serious risk if the authorities find out because no one can tell what the reaction will be.

During our last general elections, we had such in local gambling platforms but the elections were rigged which makes it useless putting such event gambling sites.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is your win a function of luck or how much you know a sports? on: July 31, 2024, 10:33:07 PM
Winning casino is mostly through luck only some few games that require skills but sports betting is majorly through skill which knowledge is part of. If you draw opinion poll here, you will see that not many people know all the rules and style of play in soccer, tennis,  hockey, basketball and other sports. You will notice that if you have so much knowledge about the sport, it is then possible to win them because you know your way around it. I was in a discussion with a friend who bet only NBA because he has so much knowledge of it whereas I bey mostly on soccer because I have good knowledge of it. Knowledge is a major decision making index in sports betting.
