321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake on a potential(obvious) loosing team just for love? on: March 15, 2024, 07:42:56 AM
Many a time gamblers use the term gambling is a fun activity . This doesn't mean that they want  a loss as it is normal to human nature to frown towards losing and cheer towards winning. Of course many gamblers usually stake in favor of their team hoping them to win however they are just believing that they would eventually win plus since the love the team they see it worthy to put up the stake. Now the case you made mention of is one of which you are already sure They would lose and still stake. The truth is almost no one would do such a thing even if the take gambling for fun, they will always prefer a win over a loss especially if the loss is too true or the odds of it happening is very high they may just ignore the stake instead.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 14, 2024, 07:02:59 PM
It really depends on the actual real world value of the 5 BTC vs 1 BTC.

If for example the value was 1 cent, then it doesn't really matter either way, and might as well get the riskier one.

But if 1 BTC is enough to change your life, then it would be silly to risk it since you wouldn't really need 5 times that.

Of course this is also definitely something that should be put into consideration. Value matters a lot especially when you gamble. As a responsible gambler you should have a limit and also a range of amount you put into stakes during gambling activities. In a situation like this, it is important to consider if the stake is below your means or above your means. As a smart individual you also have to consider the fact if the stake is actually worth it and making this part of the decision requires you to know the probability of you being able to make a win which in a case like this is usually very thin due to the large prize at stake.
When gambling we say to stake what we can afford to lose and as a gambler if you can afford to lose 5 BTC, then taking the bet is a fair option then if not it could be view as a risk taking action.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Online Casinos Publish Their Bankroll? Your Thoughts? on: March 14, 2024, 06:56:13 PM
Of course the use of bankroll on a casino page will definitely attract gamblers into venturing the games and gambling activities they have to offer. The fancier the bank roll the more customers are attracted to them in some cases. However aside the bank roll stuff, a good reputation has a strong role to play in how incoming gamblers view a casino. Even if the casino uses a very fancy bankroll to draw gamblers attention, the whole scheme will eventually fade off if they are not able to perform properly is a similar manner the information the bank roll is trying to pass and this could eventually make them lose customers.
Displaying their bankroll is not a very necessary thing as some persons are not moved by them especially because these day some casinos fake bankrolls just to get a bulk audience.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: March 14, 2024, 08:56:26 AM
Why blame others when you make a loss? These people who irresponsible gamblers blame most of the time don't even contribute to their gambling loss but they still however end up blaming them just as a way to transfer the aggression the feel because they lost. One of the most crucial and important quality and behavior of a responsible gambler is his ability to manage losses. This is because most unnecessary transfer or wrong accusations and blames arise from the fact that the gambler in question lost some money in his previous stake and probably a huge amount.
The truth is , as a. gambler if you continue to blame people around you anytime you lose In gambling activities, it. Would be difficult for you to figure out your flaws or mistakes as well as possible ways to fix them.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 14, 2024, 08:38:27 AM
I bet you a non gambler will definitely pick the choice of having one BTC instantly. And of course it is a very rational choice. The 5 BTC bet is just a probability that would favor you with the prize if you eventually win. However it smart to consider the fact that if you lose you lose it all. No matter how calculative you tend to be or how much analysis you put into consideration, you still have a possibility of losing which is very risky for such an amount. As a gambler you have to reason properly and not just hope to win all the time because unfortunately you can't win everytime and losing such an amount is not nice at all.
And of course some persons will pick the choice of the 5 BTC bet hoping to win staking at a great risk. Besides an  AI will pick the 1btc since the odds of having it is one whereas the 5 BTC bet has a much smaller odd.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Demanding Bitcoin in payment for appeal correspondence. on: March 13, 2024, 03:29:40 PM
In my opinion I think these disputes are all forms of hindrances which is actually going to drop your chances of purchase a decent amount of Bitcoin on time. Firstly, they will definitely refuse to pay you via Bitcoin transaction because even the government can't tax it instead they will suggest you make use of a bank where you can be taxed from.
In a situation of this nature I will suggest you accept the payment via a legal banking method to reduce the time you would waste trying to get it in other means like Bitcoin.

The longer the whole process goes the higher price Bitcoin attains and we both know that court cases can be delayed sometimes which is something you have avoid in this situation so you can quickly make the Bitcoin purchase before it reaches halving. Because by that time the prices would have skyrocket.
Even as we discuss Bitcoin is over $73k and still climbing, meaning they chances of getting it at a lower price is getting thinner by the day.
327  Other / Meta / Re: Bad behavior made by Newbies or Beginners on: March 12, 2024, 05:40:14 PM
you should also know that mbtc has no value and they want something that they could hold unto.

This is a wrong idea Aanuoluwatofunmi who said mBTC has no value? In the contest Op hosted, he was actually offering 1mbtc as the first price for the contest of which as of the time I am writing this is equivalent to $70.
No matter how small or large any amount of Bitcoin is, it can still be expressed in mBTC. The only significance is that it is more efficient in smaller units of Bitcoin.  mBTC simply means a Bitcoin into a thousand units . So instead of using decimals to express 0.0008 Bitcoins you can simply say 0.8mBTC.

I'm not sure this is what he meant. I am sure he was trying to say they probably did not participate in the contest because they felt the reward was too small. As it is common to find contest in the forum with prices a little fancier that that sometimes.
And for the record, large amounts of Bitcoins are expressed as regular Bitcoins not in mBTC because it will be irrational to say 1000mBTC when you can just say 1BTC. Therefore you can definitely conclude that mBTC is used in cases of just a few 100 dollars just to avoid the use off too much decimals.
328  Other / Meta / Re: Bad behavior made by Newbies or Beginners on: March 12, 2024, 04:16:18 PM
This thread has no valid point, how could you say bad behavior by Newbies or Beginners? It's someone's own choice to either apply in a contest or not and you can't force anyone to apply in a contest. You have added a strict rule of that "Signing a message" which most newbies don't understand at first place.

I suggest you to control your anger and be patient next time when you organize a contest. Also try to make the rules not too difficult for newbies. And, to be honest this thread wasn't needed in first place because the point you raised is totally invalid.
Op was definitely angry  Cheesy Grin Grin lol
Imagine initiating a contest with nice prices  on a forum with this much traffic and no one even hit the reply button  Roll Eyes
Anyways just like you have said Op should learn to calm down.
329  Other / Meta / Re: Bad behavior made by Newbies or Beginners on: March 12, 2024, 04:10:11 PM
I understand how you feel mate.Probably the newbies were scared, or didn't know how to sign a message. Next time, please make sure to add the link to a guide on how to do the task as it will help newbies who want to participate. I bet you a majority of newbies didn't participate because they had no clue on how to sign a message. If you had added a link to a post which explained how to sign messages you wouldn't have been disappointed on the outcome of the contest.

Anyways, I checked your history and kudos to you on nice contests you've initiated in the past looking forward to participate in one in the future  Smiley Smiley
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 02:46:58 PM
After long time I'm seeing your post, I'm happy that I found this post and I believe I can give you some suggestions that might help you out.

My first suggestion is to increase the amount of ram of that laptop to at least 4 GB and try to install Linux in it, however with 4 GB ram Windows 11 may also work fine.

In regard of exchange I suggest you to go with either Binance or Bybit as both of those are good exchanges. You can also give a shot to Bisq if it works for you then it's better than centralized exchanges.

Make sure to use a VPN if you can because at public Wifi VPN can be quite useful in protecting privacy and also for security.

I hope those suggestions may be helpful for you!

According to what jet cash said, from my understanding he has settled for windows and I believe it is quite understandable because Linux can be difficult to work with sometimes especially for someone with his age.
Still those exchanges will require KYC for you to be able to make purchases in crypto and both binance and bybit require high level of KYC.

Therefore as for the aspect of buying, I would suggest he does that via a forum P2P transaction with a reputable member here on the forum when the time comes. Especially with someone that has a reputation for such deals.
Also, I believe it would also be quite tasky  to determine the best time to make the Bitcoin purchase when there is a 5% or 10% dip like you mentioned. This is because the market can be quite tempting sometimes when trying to get a friendly price.

And of course VPNs will be very useful especially since he is using a closed source system like windows. And for that also I recommend he makes use of Tor. As it is even better than most paid VPNs out there coupled with the fact that it is free and also open source.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 02:14:04 PM
This article is a nice piece I must say.
Using fiat to carry out savings has become useless due to the fact that inflation is bringing the economy down day by day.
Therefore investing in something that pays more deviden such as Bitcoin is a better option. This is because you will find out that of you save in fiat  even if there is a percentage of profit, inflation will mathematically take out the profit and sometimes even more making you end up with a gross loss.

Buying the Bitcoin is a nice idea but what channel do you want to make use of in other to keep your privacy at its peak? I am asking this because the last time I checked centralized exchanges like Coinbase requires a level of KYC before you can buy or sell crypto , and in your write up you made mention of staying off the grid.
332  Other / Meta / Re: [REQUEST] the wall observer thread should be pinned. on: March 12, 2024, 10:30:32 AM
Adding it on the News section may attract new users to discover the thread and join the discussions.

This is the likes of what  I actually meant before I created this thread. We on this forum all know that the wall observer is an epic thread which also servers as a discussion thread for some our biggest whales and hodlers on this forum. Of course I agree to the fact that it has always found its way to the top of the speculation board based on frequent discussions and the chart buddy bot.

Let's not forget the fact that you can use a Few sort buttons on the board which would make the wall observer thread seem not to be on the board. However if it is pinned no matter the kind of sort used on the board it will still remain at the top.

Hi wall observers I recently made a request for the wall observers thread and I recommend you check it out. Here's the link;
[REQUEST] the wall observer thread should be pinned.
338  Other / Meta / [REQUEST] the wall observer thread should be pinned. on: March 11, 2024, 02:38:04 AM
Undoubtedly the wall observer thread is the most replied thread in the whole of this forum. Upon it's age, it has remained as the top topic in the speculation board. The wall observer is an epic thread with over 662,700 replies and 26,324,200 views and still counting. Some may argue that other topics still have whooping numbers in terms of engagement close to that of the Wall observer thread but the truth is the numbers don't come close.

Aside from the above stated, the wall observer drives one of the key aims of Bitcoin investors ( HODLING).
Over the the years , it has also been a source of constant and consistent updates on Bitcoin price courtesy Chartbuddy.
I my opinion such topic should be pinned in the board as it obviously has earned it.

Pinning the wall observer thread will Also serve as a way for new comers in the forum be able track Bitcoin price and follow relating discussions on this forum.

339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow pirate server Minning BTC 2010.2011 on: March 11, 2024, 02:04:29 AM
Do you think those miners Will boldly step out to reveal their identity and put their privacy at risk? The Bitcoin network is mostly about anonymity and optimum privacy. so I see no reason why any person who knows a person that was into Bitcoin mining during early times of the likes of 2010 and 2011 should disclose such crucial info.

Incase you don't know , block rewards at that time was massive compared to now therefore miners that still hodl from that period are theoretically whales and disclosing themselves puts them at great risk.

Besides what are you looking to do with such information?
340  Other / Meta / Re: Request delete my account from forum on: March 10, 2024, 04:38:42 PM
Accounts hardly get deleted on the forum the worse is you get banned. If you want to get rid of the account, kindly edit your email address to some random non-existent email so you can't recover the account, change your password to something random  and then forget it. That's the best you can do besides the account is brand new so it doesn't change anything.
However if I may ask why do you wish you don't have an account here anymore? Did you use a wrong username or something and wish to start over? Just asking

He might want to reuse his email with a different username that is why he wants it to be deleted.

Exactly what I am saying if he wants to reuse that username for a new account probably with a new username he can just edit the email to some non-existent one and abandon the account.
