DuckNote changed to DarkNote. ... Funny that they chose to go with the 2014 altcoin vogue tag of 'Dark' though.

Good reason to name your coin with one syllable (or not a concatenation of two words) so copy cats can't ride your coat tails. Why didn't Darkcoin just name it Dark? Now we have BitcoinDark, DarkNote, Darkcoin.

Honey can you send me some dark, I am low on funds.

That statement is funnier with ducks or fucks or shivers.

"Can you send me some fucks?"

"I'm all out of fucks to give, sorry."

Don't forget Litecoindark, Dogecoindark, and Darkcash.

Even we have been victim of darking:

Lol, that made my day. A single Picture and, " More info coming soon"
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin solve more problems than it creates? on: October 08, 2014, 01:31:00 PM
Problems with btc:
1. wild, unstable exchange rate
2. difficulty to obtain and use (for most people)
3. getting coins hacked or lost by sending to wrong address
4. fraud/theft at exchanges (if it happened at Gox it could happen anywhere)
5. it enables criminals to get paid online
6. absolutely no buyer protection

good things:
1. cheap way to send money
2. only 21 mil ever in circulation

So why should more people start using btc?  It seems the cons outweigh the pros.
1. no problem. That is called a free market. You want a mommy to smooth everything out like the dollar?
2. fixable by business. If there is a demand it will be met.
3. You could pay for secure storage. Like you do with your fiat.
4. Like it happened to me twice this year using a debit card? Target breach, Home Depot breach.
5. And non-criminals
6. You could pay for it. Like you do now with your fiat. There is no such thing as free protection.

4. Don't forget JP Morgan Breach that affected tens of millions of accounts.

Last week this time it was pushing 300+ BTC/24hr by itself and has been clearly the top traded coin for a while.

Now it appears to be slowing down drastically.

Looks like XCP is stomping it and BBR is gaining for sure.

How much more does anyone think it will fall before you can't dump your coins any longer?

~BCX~

Lol is this sarcasm?

BBR dropped 29%(and I hold some BBR), while Monero is constant. XCP only went up because of the announcement that Counterparty devs are going to be working with Overstock to create a sort of decentralized version of the stock markets.
325  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: October 08, 2014, 01:57:43 AM
If your intention is to imply that BCX's opinion counts (as anything except possibly to the contrary), I am flabbergasted.

As if your opinion has been anything better?

You told everyone Bitcoin was going to the moon, told them buy & hold all the way down since at least $700, you started a thread saying $500 was the bottom, etc.. I disagreed with you every time, and I have been correct every single time. So if anything, users should be listening to me, not you.

I don't dislike you as a person. In fact, I have fond memories. Your ethics are exquisite. I am not patronizing. These are facts to the best of my knowledge having known you before when you were a private speculator before you anointed yourself His Majesty of Altcoins.

I am entirely against this new role you have anointed for yourself. If you are in support of bettering the world with crypto, and thus will support new technology quietly without trying to herd the community politically, I will be your ally. If you continue to create this political angst and surety (which the Bible clearly states is wrong), this only motivates me that much more to do anything in my programming ability to overcome what you have done in order to restore freedom of innovation in the altcoin space unfettered by the herding of the n00bs.

One sign that you are sincere about not harming the community, would be to stop proclaiming that you can read the future of technology. You don't even understand the technology.

The prior two paragraphs are not some idle threat. They are based on inside knowledge I have, which you are not aware of. I am trying to warn you to please not get caught again making proclamations that are going to very likely end up being incorrect.

What the guy said has not come true, so in my books whatever he says from then on, is just air.

That seems to be true. And all your public predictions were too. Even the XMR price is lower than when you told everyone to buy it.

Speaking of that, BBR's price may have seen the first air escaping from the pump. Expect more to follow.

Unfortunately I can not disagree about the long-term future of the BBR price (I have a very specific reason which I will not reveal). The short-term could see another potentially very significant bounce, depending on what jl777 does. Nevertheless, I don't see the point of you doing this? It is very disruptive to the community spirit. Why can't you let investors make their own decisions and so we don't get into these political herding camps and wars?

I still symphatisize for BBR. When the price goes to sustainable level, the only thing hindering me from buying it is the community (or the lack thereof).

That reads like feigned patronizing as a veil to ridicule its community and developers.

If XMR cannot make it despite the dream team,

Watch the best of XMR devs jump ship when they realize the paradigm can be defeated and there is nothing they can do about it.

Yes there are some very smart people who develop for XMR, but they are not the only smart people in the world. Also the smartest of them want to see success in crypto-currency more than they want to be locked into some groupthink, otherwise they aren't smart.

As much as XMR has going for it technically, you are causing a lot of political problems which are killing the spirit. I was thinking before that you could learn to be a lovable angel investor touching the community with morsels of investment to spur on the paradigm shifts we need. But it seems you think the way to organize success is top-down structures, voting, politics, herding, talking to yourself in an echo chamber, etc..

I mean as much as I appreciate your 2 BTC gift (although you never paid the 2.50 BTC bounty on time which is a sin in the Bible), I can't bring myself to agree with your paradigm of organization. Sorry I wish I could. If that means you will regret helping me, that is very unfortunate because I am the one who can change the world with crypto. You will hopefully soon see. Why me? Well not because I am smarter than smooth et al, but I am smart enough and I am very creative with ideas. But mostly because my hands are not tied by groupthink.

I give very small chances for BBR making it either. And if XMR does make it, BBR will wither away or become a community coin for privacy-conscious people that for a reason or another hate XMR (a little bit like LTC vs. BTC).

BBR's big bet for grandeur is the SuperNet. Unless they have something else up their sleeve, their future depends on the SuperNet outcome.

But what good does it do for you to predict what they have up their sleeve? Do you think you can predict what I have up my sleeve?

All this accomplishes is animosity.

P.S. the likely reason the BBR price crashed was Zoid's mistake of stating he wasn't receiving enough development income. How many times am I going to say you are crazy if you develop a coin and don't take a small premine to fund yourself and pay bounties. If you have something unique and you demonstrate you are the better developer on your code than any arseholes who try to fork your project, then your premine is not a negative, it is a positive.

I truly hope you succeed in your quest to create the ultimate cryptocurrency. If such a thing can be done, I am all for it. But your public attacks on Risto, whom you call your friend, are really ungenerous. He's not "herding" anyone and not "anointing" himself to anything, except perhaps with tongue-in-cheek. He's a fan of Monero and wishes to create a community of Monero fans. The rest is in your imagination.

Or it may simply be that Rptiella expresses his enthusiasm differently than others, I can sort of see his perspective in this. Of course only he(and those he chooses to reveal to) can know his true thoughts.

Concerning development income:

I believe the XMR team should simply start something akin to the "dreaded Bitcoin Foundation". But, instead of all the slyness that the Bitcoin Foundation uses, they can simply calculate how much $ they'll need, along with other expenses(Rent, Food, w/e), and present it to the Monero community to give feedback on. Once the majority of the community agrees on how much should be raised for necessities, then a funding program can begin(With incentive such as "titles" and such). So it wouldn't be so much as a glorified foundation, instead as funding for necessities.

Just logged onto new Mintpal/Moolah

What the hell did they do to wreck the site....will not be using these guys ever again, shame as I used to love Mintpal and the pumps!

Ah yes, those Monday pumps(and dumps) on the coins that were next to be added from the voting list....Those were the days.(Nostalgia from 5 or so months ago? Yes I'm weird. Lol.)
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: To Whoever Owned Mintpal Originally: Urgent on: October 07, 2014, 10:57:29 PM
Ok, I think we can ALL agree that Mintpal in the hands of moolah.io sucks ass.

Whoever originally created Mintpal, may you please make another exchange and post it here?

Please, I beg of you, I used to love Mintpal, now Moolah took it over and they don't even make announcements before they do things to the site, not courteous at all, along with the owner of Moolah, Alex Green, being a suspected scammer/shady at best.

@OP
You really want them to make a new exchange ?

I never liked Mintpal eh but i have been using Bittrex for quite some time and had no issues i can recall.. maybe try them out ?

I would, but Bittrex is infamously known for adding Any and All coins no matter how new they are. They've even added straight up scamcoins before.

I might as well join in the buying. I've been watching XC from the sidelines, time to add it to my altcoin collection.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NXT] Testnet for Automated Transactions (AT) - Turing Completeness for Nxt on: October 07, 2014, 11:54:57 AM
NXT is a shitcoin. It's kind of laughable. I'm sure the developers know by now that their distributing the entire 1billion NXT that was issued out on Day 1, to under 75 people has doomed NXT from the start....

No matter what features NXT adds, it will always fail because of it's beginnings. Face it, only an extremely small majority of people control most of the NXT coins in existence and by the very small trading volume seen on NXT(even with it's decent sized marketcap), we can all see that those people are reluctant to sell their coins/ease the extreme unfairness present, making NXT one of the most "centralized" alt-coins ever made.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MINTPAL - You still believe in their story? on: October 07, 2014, 02:11:53 AM
Thankfully, I withdrew right before Mintpal went down.

I could definitely imagine how it feels like to have your $ stuck on the exchange, god that sucks.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] rpietila Monero Economics thread on: October 07, 2014, 02:06:57 AM
You should have went all in on Jackpot coin and not XMR as you said in your first post Wink
JPC is going to the MOON !

here is some economics info you may find interesting..
Going all in in on one coin rather than spreading out your investments is what Huh
sort of contradicts and violates what you said in your first post doesn't it ?

or am i off base here and you have other coins your invested in besides Monero and Bitcoin ?
If so what are they if you don't mind me asking ?

I find it best to invest in only a few coins, around 2-4. Anything more and it becomes too spread out and hectic for my tastes...Plus, the more money you pile into one coin, the higher the return you get if/when it takes off(also the higher risk). But yea, it's safer, in my view, to invest in a very small selection of alt coins rather than a large amount like I see some people doing(I also trade manually, no bots are used or anything, so this is just my opinion).
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Monero Monopolists angry because the Bitcoin monopoly is falling apart? on: October 07, 2014, 01:33:58 AM
Dear digitalindustry,

If you are so sure that the "Bitcoin monopoly" is failling apart, would you care to make a bet that Bitcoin's price will double(from $333.28 USD now to $666.56 or above)within 8 months time? If you had any faith in your words you would accept the offer. The betting amount will be worked out between us if you accept.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Darkcoin take second place over Litecoin next bubble? on: October 06, 2014, 12:04:04 AM
Litecoin is nothing. I will never buy Litecoin again(after selling during it's last bubble at $30)

334  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: October 06, 2014, 12:02:32 AM
Usability and Security is all that's needed for cryptocurrencies. Make it simple to use and relatively safe, then you'll find a huge spike in people actually using the currency as a transfer of wealth instead of speculative investments.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 05, 2014, 07:55:37 PM
I say, double the max supply of coins, instead of slowing down the emission.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT, the ultimate SCAM, will it die because of 100% pre-mine given to 50 people? on: October 05, 2014, 06:28:19 PM
NXT, I have to agree is a scam/shitcoin.

337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MONEROMAN88 IS BLUE MEANIE IS JOSH ZEIDNER!! on: October 04, 2014, 05:22:04 PM
Anyone who actually buys NXT and holds(for the longterm as they say) is an idiot.

NXT is only good for pumping and dumping, even then it's extremely risky, because most NXT coins are owned by the few people who bought in the IPO back last year.

Fine I will stop, only because I respect you.

-blah-

Jimbob...you read our Monero Research Lab's very first publication, right? You know the one where we spoke about a cascading privacy failure if an attacker owned sufficient outputs? Here's a link for you to save yourself. At any rate, this could occur in a CryptoNote coin where persons unknown to everyone else controlled, to thumb suck an example, 82% of all the outputs. That would be an exceedingly unsafe CryptoNote coin to use, as those person(s) could easily reveal the actual signature of just about any transaction, thus negating any benefit of ring signatures.

When choose a currency to shill for, you really should choose one that doesn't have that flaw.

and.. you couldn't have just contributed to the Cryptonote project itself ?
Was there some reason you had to use the platform and make a clone coin of your own.. to flog around here non stop ?

The whole we had to make our own clone coin excuses routine never gets old around here LOL
1,001 MoneroShill Coin
1,002 HeyLookMathEquations Coin
1,003 IiPostAtBCTalkToomuch Coin
1,004 FartingDinosaur Coin
....

you guys are busted.. your pumping / hyping /spamming about a clone coin to make Bitcoin to cash out to buy Lambo's .
cut the crap.

Your dislike for Monero comes without thought or question for you follow BCX like a man who just found his beloved captain after drifting lost at sea for many years.

Your captain has abandoned you many times and returns only for his satisfaction, while you continue drifting with the utmost faith in him everytime, what will wake you up I say!
