321  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: May 08, 2024, 06:35:08 PM
Most people will be corrupted by power, but it's not a general rule which can be applied to everyone. There are few exceptions. There are people who can occupy power positions without using it to abuse others, to take personal advantages or to become megalomaniac psychos, although it will be a constant burden, since temptation seems to be always present, sometimes stronger and sometimes weaker.

The analogy of "The One Ring" to rule them all from Lord of The Rings exemplifies this situation very well. In the story, no one could possess the "power" for too long without inevitably getting corrupted by it at some point, so it had to be destroyed. In fact, it shows us how temptation can lead the man to a thirsty search for power, which seems to never be enough to feel satisfied.

In Star Wars it's also possible to see the megalomaniac behavior on the central villain figure of the series, Darth Sidious, who had as goal to rule the whole galaxy. And in order to do so, didn't measure his actions to reach the final objective, betraying allies, lying, killing innocents and manipulating a whole galaxy in the process. For some people such plots seem fascinating, but after all they are mediocre and senseless, if succeeded.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 06:24:05 PM
Yesterday i got back home early so I decided to step out and go to a betting shop to catch some fun while gambling, I saw two teenagers gambling with their school uniforms on them.
It's likely the betting shop is commiting a crime by allowing teenagers dressed in school's uniforms to gamble inside the building. Even illegal casinos don't allow underage gamblers inside, because the sentences and punishments for such practices are more severe in these cases. To allow teenagers inside betting shops is really negatively seen by everyone around, including other gamblers. For the own good of the people behind this betting shop, it's better that they pay more attention to who they are allowing inside, and if it's an employee's decision, better that they instruct this employee on how to act accordingly to avoid creating issues for them later.

You did well by asking and raising concerns regards this situation inside the environment. Now you can just hope you put some good sense on the heads of the present people, so they will change their indifference towards the situation from now on.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Max Win is the worst thing that could happen to you. on: May 08, 2024, 06:10:14 PM
If you could do KYC process before making a deposit, would you do it?
Probably I would try finding an alternative online casino where I could play without going into KYC process first. In negative case, I would have to give my personal informations to the casino in order to play.

When a user wins a huge amount the real nightmare starts, the users have to complete the worst KYC process he will see in his life, so, should users be afraid of getting a Max Win?
If the house is legit, I don't think they should be afraid of anything. They just have to make sure they have all the data available if the casino asks for it at anytime. I would be a bad idea to start gambling at a casino without your ID in your hands. Even if they don't require it, you should have all your personal informations ready to show, anyway.

Casinos ask for KYC to avoid money laundering, but if the gambler isn't able to give the requested data then the casino keeps the money. If the casino keeps the money isn't that Money laundering?
I don't know if ti's money laundering, but there are two possible answers: it's the gambler's fault for not having how to provide requested data, or it's a scam perpetrated by the casino due to making excessively complex or impossible requests which can't be met by the gambler. It's expected a casino is going to demand KYC anytime, but it should be a normal and simple process for every gamblers, without any extra difficulties just because a gambler has hit jackpot winnings.
324  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 08, 2024, 05:56:19 PM
I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop.
Maybe he still has high expectations of making profit through gambling, even though the scenario hasn't been looking favourable for him so far. It's possible he watches another gamblers playing and making profit, what makes him believe it's just a matter of time and effort until he also sees profit coming into his pockets. At same time, it's also possible he doesn't took into consideration the impacts of house edge factor, which is decisive on long run. I suppose he isn't aware about it, or didn't take that information seriously.

So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.
Well, if he is playing with money he can afford to lose, I would say him to just continue gambling like that, and there won't be any issues on long run. However, if he is gambling avid for profits, as it was going to be a life changer, I would say him to change his mindset immediately and to understand how gambling really works and what he can realistically expect from it along the time. If his priorities in life are to thrive and grow financially, I would say he is taking the wrong steps towards that objective.
325  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are your expectations for Casino coins in this coming bull run? on: May 07, 2024, 09:30:13 PM
I don't have great expectations regards casinos' tokens anymore. The bull market has come, but its impact didn't reach these tokens. I've been an active FUN token investor, but it's just not reacting as expected from a bullish season time. Personally, I wouldn't invest on any of them right now. There are more profitable alternatives of cryptocurrencies to adopt right now with less risks of deception in the end.

Regards FUN it has always been an obvious choice for me, because I'm an enthusiast of freebitco.in and its features, which include additional benefits for FUN holders. However, the recent events involving freebitco.in aren't inspiring either, so it also had a negative impact over FUN investment, as the platform and the token are directly connected.
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is more regulation coming to online gambling? on: May 07, 2024, 09:13:04 PM
It makes me wonder what the future of gambling online with crypto will be then. Will casinos be forced to create their own slot and live games? And perhaps even bring workers abroad to run them without legal consequence? What do you think?
If such regulations are enforced, I guess casinos will just find alternative games to offer to the public, which are less complex to be developed. Something like the original games popular platforms have disponible. It's just too expensive for casinos to develop their own exclusive slots games on the complexity level of slot machines games provided by third party companies for a wide range of platforms.

And in fact, to not offer these games shouldn't be the end of the world for casinos, because the most popular category of gambling these days is sports betting. So that is what casinos are really focused in offering to the public nowadays, while everything else is just secondary.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get discouraged by the current price of Bitcoin on: May 07, 2024, 12:37:36 AM
Many investors got discouraged by the current price of Bitcoin, because high expectations were raised due to the halving event, so many people thought that right after the halving Bitcoin price should immediately skyrocket to 100,000$ or 150,000$ without any delays and setbacks. Of course everyone here would like that happened, however in practice we have a lot of obstacles through the way, and here I would like to highlight market's manipulation by whales, the big players who drive this market upside and down by selling or buying large chunks of Bitcoin at once.

I just think what investors should have in mind is that if those big players are so focused in Bitcoin, it means it has a lot of potential, otherwise they would have already moved their funds to another niches of financial world. All investors have to do is to be patient and remain encouraged that Bitcoin will still increase a lot of in price. It's just a matter of time, and a matter of remaining confident until the right time.
328  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona moves to repel abortion ban but Trump could make it US wide on: May 07, 2024, 12:25:26 AM
Pregnancy shouldn't be considered an extension of the woman's body, but a living being inside their bodies until developing all the necessary biological conditions to live outside the mother's belly. Therefore, it's not about 'your body not being yours anymore', but about having the responsability that due to an act of sex without protection, it has brought consequences which have to be embraced and taken until the end.

If the mother doesn't care or have love for the baby, completely rejecting it, then another measures could be discussed by a conscious and fair society (which isn't the case of the modern relativist world nowadays), like for an example, forwarding this baby for adoption, while at same time making sure that woman does all the necessary medical procedures to not get pregnant anymore in the future, since it's not something she wants for her life.

This way, babies don't have to be sacrificed, neither women who don't want to be mothers have to be.

And for those who really care and are concerned about their daughters, instead of teaching them the path of abortion, teach them the path of sex with meaning, the path of love, and if it's too hard to see through this point of view, try to teach at least the path of safe sex, otherwise, there will be unavoidable consequences which even abortion can't erase from their lives...
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: May 07, 2024, 12:12:04 AM
Considering 90% of crypto market's content is useless, I think the current statistics are really mild. If only 50% of altcoins have failed, it means there is another 40% under severe chances of failing as well at anytime! Investors must be careful and stick their funds only to a very select group of altcoins on this market in order to decrease the chances of putting money in altcoins which will return total loss for them on long run. Besides researching for the future predictions regards a determined altcoin, it's also important to analyze its past history, its features and potential next updates it's going to receive from developer's team.

Developers will have to stop creating projects as we don't need a lot of cryptocurrencies because what we need is a project that is usable and sustainable. Unfortunately, what we got is a bunch of shitcoins and scams which gives a reason for slow adaption and trust.
Developers should stop creating useless tokens nobody needs, however they keep doing this to benefit themselves, as somehow they need those tokens in order to make some quick cash over greedy investors who believe developers' false promises of returning hundreds or thousands of percentage over their initial investments. Most of these projects are copies of past altcoins, since they just reproduce the exact same features.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: Harmful effect of robot to the world. on: May 07, 2024, 12:05:26 AM
If the existence of robots will replace some jobs, people must move to other jobs. However, I think the robots won't totally replace the human jobs, it just reduce the number of the employees. And some jobs seem irreplaceable, it only can be done by human. So, I think we don't need to much worried about the future of available jobs for human.

Agree, if we don't want to be unemployed, we must have good knowledge. We also must have some skills that can be useful for varied jobs.
Yes, it's impossible to stop progress and technological development, so inevitably humans will have to adapt themselves to this new reality and move to other or new kinds of jobs, which must appear in the market, once new demands by humans are developed. I believe the tendency is that in the future we are going to see new categories of jobs being implemented, most of them focused on welfare, entertainment and mental health services, which can't be replaced by AIs, or if replaced by AIs won't have the same productive and rewarding effects of interacting with another real human being.

On the other hand, mechanical and repetitive jobs are indeed going to be fully replaced by automatons. As we can see, there are already machines which fully build houses like a giant 3D printer machine, so even the construction field is being replaced by the new technologies. In my opinion it's not a bad thing, because humans will have the opportunity to spend their time on more productive and subjective activities which generate food for the thought.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 06, 2024, 11:52:46 PM
Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ?  What was the final result, did they thank you later for this ?
Yes. So far the result is being very positive, because I influenced someone close to me to invest in Bitcoin before the bull run started, what means he purchased Bitcoin when it was still around 40,000$-50,000$ price range. So, as we can see, he has already made a lot of profit over his investments. I also adviced this person to invest in Avalanche (AVAX) altcoin, and by the last crash in crypto market, the investment was also being highly profitable, although right now there is almost a tier between investment and current AVAX price.

We are still confident the market is going to react positively, though. Our expectations are pretty high and I'm sure this person is happy with his progress and my influence over his investments so far. His only complaint is by not having had more money to invest in crypto market before the bull run started.
332  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All people Should have the right to own Guns in our Society on: May 06, 2024, 01:07:01 AM
Guns have to be just in the hands of mentally stable people, everyone mentaly stable must have the right to have a gun, that means that we need replace the guns paper permit to a psychiatric exam to evaluate the future gun owner, with this solution we wont be a dystopian society!
I agree with you. Not everyone should be allowed to own guns in our society, because not everyone is in sane conditions to take a responsability like that. We have already seen unstable people commiting carnage at schools and public areas due to past traumas they couldn't solve, so they became cold serial killers, while others neglected their guns, storing it carelessly, so their children had access to it and ended accidentaly hitting themselves or people around.

It's definitely not possible to allow everyone to own guns. A rigorous mental exam is a must, so the risks of having the situations mentioned above can decrease considerably, while allowing mentally stable people to defend themselves and their families, when necessary, if they wish to have a gun under their possession.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Aviator games on: May 06, 2024, 12:41:16 AM
We usually talk about this game here quite often, but with crash name, instead of aviator. Why do you think it's the least played casino game? For me it's quite popular. I've already seen gamblers playing it lots of times mixed with another original casino's games such as mines, dice and plinko. To play crash or aviator game (as you wish), you just have to place a bet, wait for the next round to start and quit the game as soon as think you should in order to leave with a prize on your hands, that is, before the game crashes and you lose your entire bet.

The longer you survive in the game, higher it's going to be the multiplier and consequently your final prize. Gamblers taking big risks will tend to stay in the game for longer, while those avoiding risks will leave instantly to guarantee small rewards over their initial bets.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: May 06, 2024, 12:26:09 AM
You do not need all these extremes just deploy the ancient art of mathematics.   Do your homework, play the game after considering all possibilities in hard ink.   Stop spoiling yourself by betting blindly, if that is your entertainment then of course but if you are somehow feeling cursed and unable to control yourself do the maths on your problem.   Break down each game, compare and contrast and then decide; deploy more of your brain not less.
Wonderful opinion. Many people forget about this or simply don’t pay attention. Really, why does a person lose for a long time? Why can't he stop playing? The word "addiction" does not explain his behavior well. What is addiction? I believe that the dependence within is very diverse. For some, it’s just a desire to relax and they don’t know how to manage finances and don’t know the term “money management.” Another has an obsession with winning a lot of money. But he doesn't even try to develop any rational strategies. He just places bets blindly.
Each case is unique. We need to analyze if the gambler is addicted due to ignorance, lack of discipline, or if there is a biological disfunction going on inside his brain. When it's about the first two cases, then we can expect educative therapies to be very efficient, if the gambler is willing to cooperate. However, when it's about the third situation, where there biological and chemical processes going on in disfunctional ways, I fear pharmacological treatment will be needed, at least on short run, until the gambler can calm down and start educating himself through the therapy.

But again, since each case is unique, we can't assure a pharmacological free treatment will be enough to remit the addiction, although in my opinion it totally worth the attempt, because as we know, medical drugs have lots of side effects, including the most modern drugs which are heavily used nowadays to treat diverse disorders from the compulsive spectrum of emotions.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: May 05, 2024, 06:45:35 PM
The problem with this strategy is you can't just stop, if you keep switching casinos, you'd end up running out of casino you could use. Not all casinos are as pleasant to use and personally experience wildly differs. Whatever win or loss you may incur, you would end up being in the same casino.
The odds works same for everyone. So, you have more chances of losing it all in the long run than actually doubling it. If you just come in with a $1000, double it with luck and never visit a casino in life, you have double your money gambling. But I don't think a person that gets the gambling experience, specially a win could resist not visiting a casino again.
Correct. If the gambler were going to do it only once in a lifetime, then I would say the strategy is pretty good and can work nicely. However, he is going to double his money and quit once every week or month basis, let's say. Each new gambling session he plays he will have to double a new budget. In the end he isn't doubling anything anymore, but multiplying it by x4, x8, x16, x32... Until he eventually lose everything to the house edge.

Casinos profit because they get the gambler on the long run, as they are greedy and keep coming back for more. If every gamblers played only once in a lifetime, doubling their budgets and quitting forever, then I believe we would have a very different outcome when comparing gamblers in loss x gamblers in profit. Of course the profit made by gamblers wouldn't be too much, but at least we would have very positive results, anyway.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: May 05, 2024, 05:08:30 PM
In the end, it is clear that if there is absolutely no problem or commotion caused by this person then obviously the casino must serve him like serving visitors in general because he came with his own money and gambled without disturbing the excitement of others.
Yes, since he isn't causing trouble inside the environment, they allowed him to remain and to become a regular customer. However, if he is really mentally disabled, I think it's not right to let him walk around like that without any accompaniment by health agents or family members, because it can lead to incidents at some point and further physical prejudice to his image. Even though he is a peaceful man, maybe he is gambling with money he can't afford to lose, but due to his disability, he isn't totally aware about it and can't judge the situation properly.

So, he needs further assistance from a tutor, for an example, who could take care his money and use it to pay for basic expenses the man is currently neglecting, especially regards his physical appearance. This money should be used to take him to the barber shop, to buy new and clean clothes for him to wear, to pay for healthy food and so on.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: May 05, 2024, 04:12:44 PM
Such envy feeling actually is quite easy to solve. Using winnings, buy everyone a drink and they would be your best friends. People are really fallen for something free. I have proved that to myself many times. If you are in a bad relationship with hardly known person or expect a talk, buy him a coffee, spend 5 bucks and you will be amazed how such cheap investment changes attitude.
I'm surprised about what you wrote, and if you think buying them things will change the mind of an envious friend, then you are kidding. Well, this may be true for some people who do not envy the person but just want to partake in the winning no matter how little. It is now good to show kind gestures to such people with good hearts, though it is not mandatory as you owe no one anything, it's your winning, so it's your choice. But when envy is now included, then it becomes a different issues that is so problematic. Envious people do not get pacified easily, they are not just happy about your success and not about you depriving them of something.

They hate and will always wish they were in your position, so do you think that buying drinks for such people will make that go? Then you are not being sincere here, they actually don't like you smile no matter what you do. However, if you sense the calibre of people around you are showing that kind of trait, the best thing is to be discrete in what you do. Not letting them know when you win or smile could be the only solution here, or else, they could be dangerous unspeakably at times.
Hmm, that is an interesting approach @TopTort777 had! He looks very pragmatic thinking on instant results and consequences from the other side. I can't say he is wrong or that the concept doesn't work. It indeed can bring some desired results (on short run), but I can't say the person is going to like, love or respect him on long run, because to pay a drink or a coffee is an ephemerous thing with an ephemerous effect, what means he will keep having to do this constantly to maintain the "friendship" with this person.

If he stops paying stuff for the person, the previous negative feelings will immediately come back regards him, probably even worst, as the individual will somehow feel in an abstinence emotional stage. It's like cutting the allowance of someone you have been supporting for several months in a row.

So from a genuine and fraternal point of view, I see no reason in conditioning a person who dislike you like that. To condition someone to like you through material gifts doesn't look a good idea, unless you are also materially interested on something this person can provide you on short term as well. Don't expect any loyal friendship or sentimentalism, anyway...
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 05, 2024, 02:56:48 PM
Casinos existed without the need for KYC's until the government made it a requirement, and they started demanding it. IMO If the government no longer requires casinos to do KYC verification for new gamblers, casinos will go ahead and still do KYC verifications because they have seen the benefits of knowing their customers better than when they just allowed people to come onto their platform and gamble without their knowledge of who they were. What do you think?
I don't think so. If for some reason regulators stopped enforcing KYC from casinos in order to allow them operating their businesses, I don't think casinos would keep the feature by their own wish, because they know how inconvenient it is for their customers, therefore prejudicing the business, as gamblers tend to avoid intrusive and bureaucratic services which keep demanding personal informations and formal procedures for them in order to play or cashout funds.

Do you think some casino's will revert back to non-KYC and allow money launderers, plus other fraudulent people have their easy way with them as a way to attract customers, or since they recognize the personal benefits of KYC to their casino, will continue demanding it even if it affects their customers?
Most of them would revert the feature, I suppose. And it would work like it used to be in the early days of crypto industry, when sign up process was simple, clean and instant. However, it's just an hypothetical scenario you are drawing, which in fact I'm pretty sure has 0% of happening for real, because in no way governments are going to remove their regulations.
339  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 05, 2024, 02:41:03 PM
what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
First of all you have to calculate what percentage of your wage all your fixed monthly expenses correspond to. Then, separate an extra budget for emergencies and another extra budget for leisure activities. Inside the leisure budget you will have the portion of money you can use for gambling. It's up to you to decide how much of your leisure funds you want to spend with gambling, because there must be another activities you want to practice for entertainment reasons as well, correct?

The percentage will always vary from gambler to gambler, because each individual has their own personal preferences and necessities. Some feel like they need more entertainment dosages, while others need less. It's just important to stick to the initial budget you allocated to leisure for that month, never crossing that line and never spending money you can't afford to lose. And in case your wage is fully compromised in a determined month due to fixed expenses, then don't gamble in any hypothesis. Try to organize your finances for the next months, so you can start gambling once again.
340  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going to happen with Bitcoin now? on: May 04, 2024, 05:57:39 PM
Bitcoin has gotten bullish since yesterday once again. There are news and predictions pointing in all directions right now, and what I see in the market is a lot of doubts from investors regards the next steps Bitcoin is going to take. Crypto market is full of manipulation by whales, so you can expect anything on short run, although on long term it's pretty likely Bitcoin is going to hit 100,000 or 150,000$ by the end of this current bull run (what can still take a year or so to happen).

I share the same view of those who made the predictions above. But for now we can only hope Bitcoin is going back to the right track once again, and that further corrections in price which could potentially lead Bitcoin to 50,000$ and below aren't going to happen anymore. It's early to assure anything, though, because resistance line is still at 64,000$, and Bitcoin didn't manage to break it today yet. In every cases, I like to see Bitcoin back to the 63,000$'s price range, as it gives me confidence to believe we are going upside in the following days, as the trend goes by.
