OK, thanks. How about a EVGA 1300 running 2 boards and a CX750 running a board and the controller? Do you think this may work. The reason I ask is because I currently run 7 s3s, a s2 and a s5 on ~4200 watts. (3 evga 1300 and 2 CX750) I want to upgrade to 3 s7s which will put me in about the same wattage but I don't really want to buy too many more PSUs. Think I can make this work?

I think the S2 has a 1000w PSU in there that you could use as well.

Nope. I bought the s2 used. It had an EVGA 1500 watt PSU. I thought that was a bonus until it burned up. (wasn't as great as i thought) I replaced it with a 1300. That's where the 3rd 1300 comes from. I plan on keeping the s5, so I need 1 of the cx750s that I am running. I am hoping I can get away with just buying 2 more of the 750s. I'm not trying to cut corners but at the same time I don't want to spend any more than I have to. I figure with the PSUs I have I should be able to get away with just buying 2 more 750s. I hope.

I am running 3 S'7 on  the EVGA 1300's, but they are Batch2, 4.66 units. But I do have them OC'ed to 600 and getting 4.85 steady with .0001err on all 3. I am running the 3 boards on the 1300's and a CX750 to power the 3 controllers. Works great. Pulling 1215w per miner, again thats without the controller and fan. I have fans hard set at 28% for low RPM and quiet. The 3 feed my HVAC for heat and also works great, the fan on the HVAC runs 24x7 and does create a bit of negative air pressure to help suck the hot air out of the miners.

Let me know how this works out as I've been getting a lot of message offering to sell me S7 but for whatever reasons, they're not willing to use escrow thru Ognasty or Phillip and insist on using ltc as escrow which I'm not familiar or comfortable with.  Glad Phillip is able to help on this transaction.

Yea, no response since I insisted on escrow. I think the account is hacked and @luckypyrate does not know about it. The below is what I sent him via PM after a few PM exchanges. I also chatted with him on Skype little and he sent over the below pictures of the miner, looks like images off the net.

http://prntscr.com/9ryvpy

"Sorry, will have to wait for some verification that you are really luckypyrate. You profile shows local time is 5 hours ahead of EST, your profile also shows password recently changed and you mentioned the miner was was 15km away. You would be stating miles, not km and how can your local time be 5 hours ahead of EST if your in New Orleans? Things don't add up here, so I will reach out to other who have done transactions with you to see if they have your email address or contact info. Also, your profile does not show a BTC address and your email is hidden. To may things are off here for me to blindly send coin without some due diligence. I'll be in touch tomorrow."

Just wanted to let people know of a cool block tracking site, BitBlk.com. Shows empty blocks by block maker and some block stats and averages for BTC and LTC. You can also click on the pool make and get past stats by day, red blocks denote empty blocks.

Kano CK Pool was not being listed, I emailed the owner and asked him to include Kano since Solo was already tracked. He PM'ed Kano and got things sorted out technically. Just checked today and Kano is now tracked listed!

Nice Job!

Thank-you for the link.

Yea. NP. Also works well on a mobile device screen. scales nicely and very usable.

Thank you to Lorien Kaulkner who built the site and runs it and thank you to Kano for helping him out with getting Kano block stats on the site.

Antminer S7 Batch 3, being bought by Paul Page.

Yep, agree to buy s7 batch 3 from luckypyrate for 2.25. sending 1.5 pre and .75 once received and check'ed out. He will post screenshot of admin screen, picture of unit with serial and batch.

@philipma1957 agreed to escrow this sale, @luckypyrate please post the miner pics, admin screen and Bitmain sticker pics to complete sale. @philipma1957 sent you a PM with escrow details, please respond with agreement and I will forward the full 2.25 to him and provide shipping details via PM to you and him.

Had anyone troubles with mining with s7 on f2 pool.?
Looks like their hash rate is not stable and gives out 2-3 TH on 80% of observed units (b7).
Only few from 10 work as promised.
But When working on antpool they all hash 4,8 TH.

I guess the question is why would you be mining on F2 and Ant? Supporting the Chinese that don't care about the future of BTC and already own more then 70% of the world hash. So many better pools to pick from.

Most big pool miners do not want the variance risk.  On smaller pools.  Sad as they cause the problem and do not realize it.
I support a lot of small pools and  when I look at the math of :

all pay better then antpool or f2pool.  but not enough people mine  at them.

They simply do not understand math .

Sounds hard core but it is true.

Now I have 1 s-7  it mines at f2pool inside of my friends old bank.  He still leases 1 floor and I am teaching the game to him in case he decides to   go large in Washington state with a few investors.  Maybe 10ph in gear.  I know they won't want to go to a smaller pool as they do not want variance. So I am showing him why I would use a pool like Kano's  for now we are pointing where he wants which is f2pool.

I hope to get him to move it to kano.is this thursday.

Very true and sad, on a daily basis yes the variance is higher but over 15-30 days not so much, if you are running 10PH or more, then every point matters and getting PPS less 4% sucks, just to get the same payout daily? Over 30 days you would be 101% or more on Kano. If these big guys were on Kano for the last 70 weeks, they would be at 103.9%. For every 10+PH miner that moves to Kano or other small pool, the variance reduces. F2 and Ant can't come close to block change times and thats an advantage Kano and Solo have over all others.

with all due respect, it is nothing that it s a guarantee of some sort that you will score above or even 100% at that pool going forward.
In fact, if it was above 100% for a while, one would think that at some point it will be below 100% for a while as well.
Of course, with a higher hashing in the pool, variance will decrease.

Here, have a read of this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler's_fallacy#An_example:_coin-tossing
BUT most importantly, look at the image on the right and the description.

Luck DOES NOT correct itself.

Expectation is always 100%

... not 50% coz we got a 150%, not 3 reds in a row coz we got 3 greens, not any other random thing someone thinks up.
That is all Gamber's Fallacy, it's not "some better theory", it's Gambler's Fallacy.

The reason why luck tends towards 100% is not a correction on what happened before, it's that you always expect 100%

If you have have 200% luck since a pool started for 100 blocks (yeah that'd be pretty lucky) you still expect to get 100% for future blocks.
So, since maths goes on forever and an eternity, the average of 100 x 200% + 1,000,000 x expected 100% moves closer to 100%
That expectation is to approach 100%, in this case from above, but it's not correcting history, it's simply expecting to average closer to 100%

let me also add, Kano's fee is .9% and yes Ant says zero fee but they DO NOT PAY transactions and Kano does. Most blocks now include .25 to .50 in fees and after Kano's .9 most of the time 25+ BTC get distributed to miners unlike Ant which is alway 25.

Where exactly did I say that there is a guarantee that it will happen IMMEDIATELY-this is gamblers fallacy.
The expectation that over long time periods luck shall not exceed 100% is reasonable and has nothing to do with such fallacy.
To give you an equally simple example: In ideal situation toss the coin 5 times and all five come as heads does not mean that I have higher chances to have tails next time, but if I toss the coin 1 billion times, it should be close to 1:1. In addition, it is possible to calculate the chance of tossing 30 heads in a row, which would be ~1 chance in a billion. Similarly, it is possible to calculate how likely is 103% pool luck to continue for a year, or ten. Check with organofcorti for exact numbers.
On the other hand, over a long period of time, luck is likely not to exceed 100%, and in fact slightly lower due to orphan blocks (analogy with many coin tosses result in 1:1), therefore there will be periods with less than 100% luck simply due to variance. When-unknown.

That is 100% correct, did not mean to imply that your comment is based on Gamblers Fallacy, I was just posting a few comments that Kano pointed out and agree that long term it will always be 100%, but Kano has 2 orphans in last year compared to the big pools that have a much higher percentage and I was also stating that a large pool with zero fee is not any better then .9 fee but pays transactions to miners.

Sorry for any confusion.

Seems like this pool is growing more and more. Hopefully soon it will be the largest PPLNS pool besides Antpool.

The sad thing is, there's no a lot of healthy pools like this on the network..
Only chinese/private pools looking for quantity, not quality.

It can easily be quantity and quality, just need to get a few 10ph+ miners on board, variance will further reduce and more large miners will come and help the network grow in a sustainable manner. I know Kano said no more then 10% of the network, but when we get to 10% then he will need to start KANOII or recruit a like mined individual to take under his wing and start another pool with the same code and same ideology about BTC.

Anyone know 10ph+ miners?

Set up my first S7 B9 (or B8 if they're the same) with the preinstalled 03 December 2015 firmware and a EVGA 1600w T2 (Titanium) power supply.  I asked earlier what the settings should be if I wanted the draw at the wall 1,250watts max.  Here's what I've found on 230v.  Freq. 606.25M and fans at 32% (3,120rpm fan 01 and 3,000rpm fan 03).  Ambient room temp. about 70 degrees F.  S7 temps showing 61 degrees C.  Kill-A-Watt showing 1,249 watts at the wall on 230v (this includes a fan controller and 5 additional case fans which uses about 20w).  Getting above 4,080+ GH/S(avg) at 0.0000% HW errors so far.  I don't condone setting the fans so low, just posting this to show what kind of wattage the S7 pulls at the wall at these settings.  Dropping to 600M cuts about 14watts.

Why not run the fans at 32%? I have 3 4.66 units, 2 running at 28% fan and 1 at 32% fan in basement which is 67-69 degrees. All 3 are exhaling into my forced hot air house heating system with fan running 24x7. All 3 units are running 49-55c OC'ed to 600 and getting 4,850Ghz hash using 1220 watts. I'm using 3 EVGA 1300 G2's, one for each miner and 1 CX750M for the 3 controllers. Have had this setup for 2 months now with no issues. The HVAC does a good job sucking all the hot air and circulating throughout my house, minimal heating from gas furnace required, maybe 2-4 hours per week that my furnace is on. I've had the internet go out a couple times and no issues with heat, most of the time they recover once ISP is back but I still soft reboot them. So just wanted to see what issues running the fan at 28-32 % might cause.

http://imgur.com/gallery/TGg4fRS

Great setup as far as % utilization and using them to heat the house, but that little CX750 is unnecessary because EVGA1300 could handle 1220+some wattage for controller (is it 50 or so) just fine.
Not sure how you did it since CX750 has just two double PCIE cords . Did you use extenders or somehow put S7 in opposite direction to bring two controllers close?
EDIT: looked at the picture-they are stacked, but not sure.
Plus, EVGA has only 8 connectors, so you probably got at least one splitter/extender on EVGA as well. Just saying.

Well, the EVGA has 6 PCie ports and 6 cables which 2 are doubles for a total of 8, need 9. Getting 3 more double end cables but for now using the 750 for the controllers. The 750 has 2 ports and using 2 double PCIe cables so that gets me 4 connections. Just long enough to reach between the miners stacked, really don't have 1mm to spare.

Do you have your EVGA 1300 G2's stacked on top of each other?  Don't they have fans on the top of them or am I just seeing it wrong?

Edit:  NVM I see now one faces left one faces right and the third just sits on top.
Also note that the 4.66 batch OC'ed to 600 is same as 4.86 batches on hash rate and uses 1218 watts.

2 are end to end with fans on opposing sides and 3rd one is on top, so 2 are vertical and 1 horizontal.

Why not run the fans at 32%? I have 3 4.66 units, 2 running at 28% fan and 1 at 32% fan in basement which is 67-69 degrees. All 3 are exhaling into my forced hot air house heating system with fan running 24x7. All 3 units are running 49-55c OC'ed to 600 and getting 4,850Ghz hash using 1218 watts. So just wanted to see what issues running the fan at 28-32 % might cause.

the price for the s7 is droping really low.... should this be a concern?
is it because of their luckyhash loto and people are dumping their ghs?

I think so, once LH is over then less dumping.

Green!

Thinking about starting a thread for CKPoolMonitor to keep it all in one spot and remove some clutter here.

Where should I post the thread Bitcoin Software? Or somewhere else. PM me your thoughts.

In pool section?

Theres some other guy with a API for antpool, he has it in pool.

I like it here, all things related to Kano in one spot. Just my 2 cents.

it seems that we are going through a period of bad luck

Few hours ago we found block?

Only 1 block?
call it luck?
excuse where the gain is to find one block every 17/20 hours?

It seems that Kano approximately finds about one block a day. Odds to find a block are directly related to pools size. Kano is a small pool. But you do understand,  that because reward is shared among pool's participants,  end result is the same.

But with smaller pool variance is bigger. If you mine in e.g. Antpool,  you get almost exactly the same reward every day.

If people outside China keep supporting the Chinese pools, BTC will not have any value in the future. Looks at all the nasty things they are doing and not to mention centralization of all the hash power. Can't stop them from deploying more miners, but the rest of the world can CHOOSE not to mine on pools in China!

In the shoes of the Chinese IŽd keep flooding the market with hashpower and therefore difficulty and see if I could kill off some mining operations in the west. Probably good to have some of that six feet under when the halving takes place.

If they care to keep BTC at a decent price (the Chinese), they would want reduce the hash power in China as the BTC world is considering that a risk in the market. Already China has more then 50% of the network and if that keeps going then BTC is nothing more then a virtual Yuan and they can keep them all for themselves. People outside China really need to spot mining on the China public pools like Ant and F2. Many excellent choices available, I wold guess 50% of both those pools are getting hash from people outside China. How do we get the message out for the sake of the future of BTC?

Maybe a Super Bowl Ad, World Cup Ad? Front page of bitcointalk?

Don't know
