All you need is the backup phrase so that you can recover your wallet. Check the hardware wallet's website for the instructions of recovery, they have it. For example, Ledger Nano S, you'll see the instructions on "Lost device, PIN code or recovery phrase".

So if I need that why wouldn't I just go paper wallet?
If you're thinking that way, then you should've trust paper wallet in the first place. I feel like you're running away, you don't want anything because you're afraid. However, you'll run out of options if you're focusing on the negative side. Let's say you use a desktop wallet, you're afraid of virus and malware, then secure your device, run scans, don't click malicious links, always check the url of a website, check the apps you install, something like that.

If you'll be keeping your LTC for a long time, this is another way I could think of:
1. Put it in a desktop wallet/android wallet that lets you hold the private key/recovery phrase
2. Store the key/phrase in a safe place then don't open the wallet anymore in your device after receiving your coins (you might want to uninstall it as well)
3. Just open the wallet when you need to do a transaction.
4. If you want to check your balance, then just check it on block explorer. It will lower the risk of being hacked.

I hope you won't be saying what if you lost your recovery phrase or something, remember you are responsible of keeping it. If you want you do many copies and keep it in different places

My main issue with a hardware wallet is what if the hardware fails?

323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: KuCoin upgrade on: February 22, 2019, 12:18:55 PM
I quit using kucoin some months ago since I didn't found it valuable.

Which new trading features have been added?
You can see the full info here: https://www.kucoin.com/news/en-KuCoin-Platform-V2-Upgrade-Complete

I want to know also if it was on Android, iOS or Desktop because until now the android app isn't working in my end. Can you confirm @ParmaBTC?

Android App DEX working fine!
Thanks for the answer, though it's strange. All I see was blank page and the app closes right away. I even tried unistalling and installing the app again, cleared app data and cache.

They have a new update in the appstore, seems that there are other users who experienced the same and reported it to the team. "Bugfix: hangs with a blue screen on start" (as seen in the screenshot from playstore, but still not working in my end)

325  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: February 21, 2019, 03:50:06 PM
May friend ako gumagamit nun diretso sa atm nia no transaction fees pa.

may fees po sa gcash, nag transfer lang from user to user nag walang fees pero ang cashout mo from coins.ph may bayad tapos pag nag withdraw ka syempre may bayad din
From coins.ph to GCash, 2% po ang processing fee. From GCash naman po: 1) if via ATM may 2 free withdrawal, 2) if sa GCash partner outlets (like Globe, Bayad Center, etc.) up to P20K yung free at kapag lumagpas, 2% din po yung fee

Convenient ang GCash kapag urgent kasi almost instant (10mins process), pero kung hindi naman nagmamadali, imo mas okay pa din through bank.

Note: If you do not understand the meaning of 0Byte, then it is your own fault, not 0Byte.  Grin
Just a note too, it's Obyte not 0byte. Different, right? You should know the correct name first
327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: need to post instructions according to the rules on: February 20, 2019, 12:14:55 PM
IMO this thread is the best source : Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ. It's a compilation, if you read the whole content, most questions in your mind about the forum will be answered. On the other hand, if you want to jump directly to posting guidelines, go here: Guidelines for threads

Still, I recommend that you read the whole content.
328  Other / Meta / Re: Does the copper membership only avail posting images? how about signature? on: February 20, 2019, 09:33:03 AM
I've yet to see a Copper Newbie/ Jr. Member join signature campaigns. Would bounty managers classify one equally as members?
Imo it depends on the bounty manager. Some classify copper members same to jr.members (like here) while others to members (like here). Btw, I've already seen several bounties that allow copper members to join their sig campaign since last year (Dec).
329  Other / Meta / Re: Does the copper membership only avail posting images? how about signature? on: February 20, 2019, 06:44:18 AM
Copper Membership allows you to post images and wear a signature. You can't embed videos, but you can post GIFs.
Read more here : Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images

You need to use image hosting sites like imgur.com
1. Upload the image/gif
2. Right click on the image, click "Copy image address"
3. Post here in bitcointalk inside the image tag
Code:
[img]insert your image link here. Should end with image extension like .jpeg .png .gif[/img]

Example:

330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ERC20 BTM on: February 20, 2019, 12:10:11 AM
Accod. to the guide, I have to deposit the ERC20 to one of the exchanges, and the exchange will do the swap, but those mentioned exchanges have stopped support this swap.
I wonder why isn't there a non-exchange swap...
Have you tried all of them? If not, check it one by one. For example gate.io, you must have an account to see BTM_ETH in your wallet and be able to send the erc20 BTM.

Aside from the exchanges they've given in that tutorial, I don't think there's another way to swap.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ERC20 BTM on: February 19, 2019, 11:38:48 PM
Check this tutorial on how to swap your tokens : https://medium.com/@Bytom_Official/bytom-mainnet-migration-a4ca53d3de99

They didn't mention any deadline for the swap so I assume you still can. If you need assistance, you should reach out to them via ANN thread, Telegram and/or other social media accounts.

I'm neither a PayPie supporter nor follower, but I did check their TG Announcement channel. It's a long post, might help you out.

Dear Community,

Happy 2019! Our platform development is as steady as always and we could not be happier with what is about to be released. Some of the following features will be released this month and some of them will come early next month. Either way, they will be highly beneficial for businesses and financial professionals alike.

First, we are launching a brand-new portal exclusively for accounting professionals. Accountants and bookkeepers can open many doors for the platform, especially considering that each accountant usually helps multiple businesses they serve. The portal will have resources that target this niche and it will look and feel like what they are familiar with using in other fintech software. (But with our very own spin, of course.) If you are an accounting pro, be ready to sign up your business clients in your own workflows because your tailored portal is coming!

Moving on to SMEs, there a few pies in the oven. For starters, a new Daily Cash Position feature is in the making. This will let businesses have an instant picture of how much cash they will have at hand on any given day. Cash flow is a matter of life and death for SMEs and we are giving them the keys to foreseeable outcomes with reliable accuracy.

On top of that, we are also bringing Detail Customer Analysis to the table! This is a very exciting and crucial resource for businesses involved in invoice financing activities since it enables for screening through credible customers and delinquent ones. Even data like average days for debtor payments can be measured and compared against multiple debtors. It's a tool with various applications and huge potential.

Also on the invoice financing page, we have started development of the much-awaited SME cash alerts! When this feature is live, SMEs will get alerts signaling when they will run out of cash and how they can benefit from invoice financing opportunities to avoid a cash flow crisis. That's when the magic happens. Alerts will be a straightforward, event-driven tool that will empower both SMEs and token holders by seizing opportunities according to many global business leaders consider the most important aspect in business: timing.

Last but not least, What-If Scenarios are being released next month too. They are one of the most sought-after resources by SMEs looking for forecasts. Estimating how a company's cash flow will look like in six months from now if they lease a new building or hire new personnel can be priceless. Multiple scenarios will be available for users to choose and projections will be made instantly.

These are the new developments that are coming up in the following weeks. Our team keeps working hard to have the best platform possible and things are moving along steadily. On the regulatory front, progress is being made and we are diligently working hard to make it a reality.

Idk why they locked their thread here, but if you really want to see updates just visit their Announcement channel or the Public group chat
336  Other / Meta / Re: I need help, reason why banned me! on: February 15, 2019, 02:44:21 AM
Mikuhashi was banned most likely because of this: "Users posting "joined" type posts when not required or allowed will be BANNED"

The account was reported by LoyceV on "Fake profiles joining old/closed bounties for some reason."

337  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Monero FreeWallet is a [SCAM] on: February 14, 2019, 12:25:04 PM
There have been Scam Accusations posted here in the forum like:

Freewallet account here actively responds to all concerns regarding their service. You can message the account or just wait him see the thread.

BTW, it would be better if you use the correct Scam report format from here or at least provide more info like the TXID of your Monero transaction. Tbh, I'm a little bit confused on what you said: "transaction hash for the exchange I did for BTC to MONERO". Where did you exchange?
338  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] MoonTrade Signature Campaign | Member > Legendary | Up to 0.006/Week on: February 13, 2019, 05:21:03 PM
Yes, you didn't read the slots update.
In my application post, I said I can work as a Member.
The issue here is not you work as a Member with the CM or not but you are not qualify to participate because of earned merit which you don't have (5 earned Merit). Always read requirement before you apply into any campaign, hope this help.
No, that was the issue. The manager made it clear about the slot update (seems like you missed reading what you quoted). Slots for full members are already full and most likely the manager is not giving a slot for a different rank.

In regards to merit, SiDtHeBeSt is a full member and has 106 merit, that means he passed that requirement.

Ps. Sorry for intervening here in the thread.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptopia Marketplace Problem!!!! on: February 13, 2019, 05:03:39 PM
I'm not sure if they will reopen, but I think Cryptopia should at least let the users withdraw their remaining balances considering the fact that not all wallets have been hacked. Atm, users are still waiting for an official update.

Btw, you might want to read the discussions in their ANN thread. You can start from here:

340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | EDO |EIDOO Wallet - Hybrid Exchange - Marketplace| OVER 80k ETH RAISED | on: February 13, 2019, 01:14:22 PM
The new hybrid exchange is full operative, at the moment you can buy and sell EDO, ETH, BNB and many other, but much more coins will come very soon.
Remember to buy some EDO to pay fees
Have you used it? I have some EDO tokens, but am waiting for them to appreciate in price. The current one is far too low.
I want to know also if it was on Android, iOS or Desktop because until now the android app isn't working in my end. Can you confirm @ParmaBTC?
