323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The completely evaluation of Dragon 1 T bitcoin miner from china on: March 24, 2014, 09:16:32 PM
Can someone link to setup instructions for accessing the device and manually configuring cgminer.    In the future, any company selling hardware needs a support thread that has information for setting it up, you really do your customers a dis-service noting having that ready.  Thanks.

P.S. I tried to SSH into the IP on the LCD screen and it is not accessible.

I am interested but BTC1.0 is high in my opinion.

How about 3 or 4 Hashfast Sierras?

I believe in the long-term growth of MAX.   This is the post-launch hype doldrums.  I am mining coin and stacking.
327  Economy / Services / Re: I will pay 0.15 to first person who dox Leah McGrath Goodman on: March 07, 2014, 09:49:31 PM
The main issue with Ms. Goodman is that she doxed him in the most irresponsible manner possible without concrete proof.  Regardless if it is him or not, we are not respecting his wishes and that IS THE PROBLEM.  Just because most people can't fathom someone not taking credit or seeking fame & wishes, doesn't mean we should violate the privacy of someone who specifically stated he doesn't want anything to do with Bitcoin.  RESPECT THAT PLEASE.

I personally think that no harm or threats should go to Ms. Goodman, but if someone doxed her, it would not be the end of the world.  Maybe that would treat her to use more tact next time.  There is this concept called prudence, she should of exercised more.

FAQ

View our full FAQ at: www.bitcoinasichosting.com/support/FAQ/

Do you sell any hardware?

We are not selling any hardware at this time.  We only provide server colocation for hardware that has already been purchased by our customers.  Our clients save time and money by directly sending their units for us for documenting, configuring and hosting.

What mining services are provided?
We provide an all-inclusive hardware colocation service specific for cryptographic mining.  Your miner will mine on a preferential server on a major pool.  We have extensive measures to receive instant notification whenever a unit is not hashing.  Our team is able to respond to these issues immediately and provide you with the highest uptime possible.

How long are hosting terms?

We provide our clients with 3, 6, and 12 month contracts.

Where is Bitcoin ASIC Hosting located?
We operate and manage facilities throughout Washington.

How can I pay?
We are currently accepting BTC (2% fee) and USD via check, wire transfer (international only) and direct deposit into our Bank of America account.

If I prepay but my units have not arrived what happens?

Your hosting term does not begin until your units begin hashing.

When are you ready for hosting?
We are fully operational and have capacity now!

What insurance do you carry?
We offer insurance against theft and acts of God.  We do not offer insurance against lost profits.

Is there a setup fee?
Yes, there is a one time $42.00 fee per U of rackspace (1.75 inches).  This fee covers mounting, network setup, transportation, configuration and cabling.  This fee is non-recurring.

Do you support non-rack mountable gear?

We have experience deploying non-traditional mining operations.
329  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Data Center hosting location - California on: March 07, 2014, 08:49:43 PM
I bought some miners and would like to host them in a local data center in California. This way I might be able to keep down my costs on electricity and up time on my internet connection.

Does anyone use a data center and pay a monthly fee for it? If so which center? How much do you pay?

PMed you with some details.  Hope it helps.

331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Monarch update on: March 07, 2014, 08:13:00 PM
I will say at least they gave the customers a bunch of options for compensation.   I have a hosting client that has a large order of these and he wasn't happy but was happy they gave him options.   5 week delay is major in ASIC-land.

332  Bitcoin / Hardware / TerraMiner IV Power Consumption Video on: March 07, 2014, 08:10:09 PM
Hello,

Here is my 3rd video installment covering the power usage on the TerraMiner IV by CoinTerra.  We went out and picked up another power meter so we could show the load for both PSU's  There is another video out there that covers power consumption but they didn't have both PSUs metered.  These units are great all around and they have really made it easier for the miners like myself that have to manage lots of units.

333  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [HOSTING] ASIC Miner Hosting (Insured) - Opened 2nd Room on: March 07, 2014, 07:13:42 PM
I had a couple of questions for clarification:
How many miles from the coastline is the facility located and how far above sea level? I see the corporate listing is rather close, I just wanted to address the likelihood/risk of weather events causing an outage. You can be as vague on details as you desire.
Is there someone on site 24/7 yet or do you anticipate offering that sort of security as you grow? Again, please be as vague on details as you desire.

I read your blog entry here:
http://www.bitcoinasichosting.com/our-facility

I too was excited when my Avalon Batch 2's came in. I did get those delivered and set up and in place, but unfortunately got screwed over hard on the Icarus trade-ins. Did you get screwed on any trade-ins as well?

You guys are probably the most competent and trustworthy individuals offering this kind of hosting in the US so I wish you the best of luck and may consider you later this year. Thanks.

There is another Datacenter close by that quoted a figure of 2.2 for our rating on the likeliness of any major natural event happening.   We are on high-ground and on a high redundant power grid because of our neighbors.

We have a walk-through by our technician two times a day (morning & evening) along with me or my partner monitoring the farm constantly.  We have not had any major downtime due to service failures to date.  Yes, have have additional security precautions being put into effect and we are insured.

We just completed the Opening on our 2nd hosting room and it is 4 times the size of our first.    Cheers!

Upgrade is complete.  We will have a detailed blog post soon.  The new HVAC is a beast.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are rejected shares related to mining intensity? on: March 03, 2014, 11:00:08 PM
GPU operate in a "batch" mode.  They start hashing and attempt so many hashes before stopping to return results.  The higher the intensity the more hashes the card attempts in one batch but also the longer the batch takes.  The card only returns results at the end of the batch.  The higher the intensity (and longer the batch) the more shares which are computed but are now "stale" when a block change occurs before the batch ends.

What matters is shares (or work) accepted.   It is possible the accepted rate is still higher even with a higher rejected rate because the gross rate is higher.

Simple example

100 shares gross w/ 1% rejected = 99 shares accepted
120 shares gross w/ 10% rejected = 102 shares accepted.

The later is more profitable.  All that matters is how many shares you get paid on.

Thank you D&T.  Love your responses.

Used, in box with everything that came with it.

Would like to sell all at once but will take offers for singles or multiples.

Price in USD?   Most important piece of info, I am interested and in the market.

You should note that the reported hash rate in the web panel is not accurate.

I'm curious about your power consumption.  We've seen a peak of 1950 W at 208V

1.6TH/s after 48 hours.  I will do a power video soon, I want two meters so I can see the full load at once.

On what pool are you measuring this hashrate?  Con has already acknowledge that the reported hashrate is not correct.

For this test, BTC Guild and it was reporting the same speeds on average.  It is in a tad hotter environment (staging) then we when move it to our facility where we will run the ambient temps 10 degrees lower.

Yes, we did a long-term lease on a space and completely built-out two large rooms for hosting.   It has been a great experience and I have become even more competent in many admin related areas.

I got 4x 20A circuits installed for $200, including parts.

Don't forget your cooling.   75 degrees or less is where you need to keep the room for optimal hashing.

340  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hosting CoinTerra @home on: February 28, 2014, 07:14:03 PM
PMed you. I will send you a hosting quote.  These units eat a ton of juice and need good cooling.

Cheers,
Dalkore

$68 month for $7 your cost in electricity? No thank you.  That's like a 900% mark up, I am in the wrong business.

Is my math wrong? That seems a bit steep.

Sure the power is cheap but the redundant power infrastructure, large commercial HVAC, redundant fiber connection, 24 hour monitoring and tech support (they do have issues) is not $7.    You need the low power cost to keep everything else cheaper.  I will be doing a video tour soon and that will help people see what it entails.  Thank you for your question.
