A civil suit is the correct response.
When bASIC owed me money, I threatened Tom with a lawsuit and I was refunded my coins. I've since threatened Mike with one, and he hasn't refunded my coins. I guess he doesn't believe I'll follow through. If anyone wants to provide me with information on Mike and John please feel free. I have a regular private investigator that I use, but there's no use in paying someone if I can get it from someone that already has it.
The first move would be to request PhenixEX.com domain registration information, which although private, the company will release at the registrants expense upon request. It is best if the request is made by an officer of the court. It is my opinion that there has been a violation of section 408C of the Queensland Criminal Code (fraud). Certainly section 41 of the Extradition Act (Cwth,1988) would apply even although the accused has never set foot in the country, as is the case with the pending extradition of Mr Setser from Los Angeles. The minium penalty is 5 years imprisionment. Admittly my training is in environmental law, but I think with a little research, some course of action would make itself apparent. As for regarding a civil suit, legal fees can always be awarded to the plaintiff by the court. But for me, it's not about the money, it's about the principle. |

HAHAHA, who are the "proper authorities"? FinCEN Unless fiat was sent to the exchange, FinCEN has no jurisdiction over virtual currencies. I'd approach them anyway, the U.S. courts determining that crypto is money in the case of pirate may mean that they could be of assistance. Admittly it's a complex issue. A civil suit would be a much simpler option, and easier to prosecute. |

Yeap everybody knows you don't pay for porn... you just find it on a file sharing site, or a torrent and download it for free.. and nobody gets hurt.. It's a bit like not working for money because it's free ..Just wave a gun in a bank tellers face, and they hand it over for free.. and nobody gets hurt.. I'm thinking sites that use SXC get a free service.. A check for copyright violations and a list of threads, sites or files to be taken down.. maybe even the complaint will be made on a sites behalf, if they authorise it... Along with SXC bounties paid for reports of pirated material from sites using SXC.. I mean I remember when music was free.. you'd be an idiot to own itunes.... |

Maybe it will resolve itself, have you tried turning it off and on again?  I've tried every trick in the book, mining solo, load balanceing (which helped a bit), rebooted everthing, updated everything, tweaked until I could tweak no more, and I was still getting 90% stales.. My browser was pretty slow too.. Suddenly I'm at 5-10% stales.. Just started behaving itself.. I'm going to rationalise that my ISP was screwing around with their stuff, and have finished doing whatever they did.. It'll keep me sane.. Not that I started off high in the sanity department  |

I have no idea either.. at the moment I'm mining just fine, rejects are a little high, but I usually get that on faster coins and a laggy connection... WTF..  .. Hate it when I've got problems I can't pin down.. |

I was having a little trouble mining, but I got around it...
I just added all the pools into cgminer and selected "Load balance" as my strategy instead of "failover"..
From the looks of it, the pools are getting DDOS'ed in a rotateing kind of attack moving one to the other..
It's kinda hard to tell from this end, I'm probably wrong, it could be something on my end, but I'm having far less issues mining now..

From the stats it looks like half the miners are hashing along nicely, but it's reject city for others..
My reject rate is 90%, but I'm on a really really lousy connection with inbuilt lag (VSAT)

The retargeting is wrong... we've gotten together discussed it on IRC and are organising to take care of it.
We have said that we were going to issue two hardforks from the start which is fortunate, it means that we can fix it quickly, and we'll do an official announcement explaining what exactly went wrong.. Unfortunately we are moving our planned next mandatory client release forward to next week end so you'll have to upgrade again.. we are looking to make it so you'll have two weeks to upgrade.
The basic problem is we should be popping blocks every 60 seconds with a 30 block retarget. Instead we are on 30 second blocks with a 60 block difficulty retarget.. We are all mining at double rewards.
As embarrassing as it is, we've always played it straight, believing that honesty is the best policy, so we admit that we screwed up.
And we've decided that the thirty second blocks give us a competitive edge, the 60 second block retarget still gives us half hourly retargets so.. We are keeping them..
We will reduce the the rewards for blocks by half, and change the block halving to suit..
We know how incompetant this makes us look, but we are willing to wear the blame, and the damage is that miners will be getting more coins for about the next three weeks, and the price will probably drop due to the higher amount of coins hitting the exchanges.. Hopefully it will rebound at the next hardfork.
We know that this is a pain in the ass, but this should be the last mandatory update we need to issue, and the community knew we were doing another one so hopefully it will proceed smoothly.

well it seems we've mostly got strong hands holding SXC, they just ain't selling cheap. The network is at 76 M/H and thats not flash mining thats new miners coming in.. I'm thinking of paying for a press release by http://bitcoinprbuzz.com/ in a few days, and in 250 blocks we will hit the hardfork, have our "standard" desync fix, and our difficulty retarget will be at every 30 Blocks.. It's all happening... |
