321  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: June 30, 2023, 12:15:25 PM
I reluctantly followed the counsel of a financial advisor to fix my finances in order by creating a budget and tracking my expenses, inflow and outflow of cash using an excel sheet. The economy has been crazy in my country so I needed to do something urgently. My greatest realization after this is that inflation all round is destroying my budget. It's been  five months now. I am torn between using my emergency funds or selling some of my assets to cushion the effect of this economic situation. What do you suggest I do?
Inflation is certainly making us living the hard way that's why if we don't create initiatives on how to save or find some means to back up our finances, then we will surely struggle for real. That's where side hustles start to emerge and take advantage of it using our own skills and knowledge. However, for the mean time, you can spend some portion of your emergency funds to make some ends meet, but make sure to fill in the amount you have spent so you can still benefit your growing emergency funds for your future use.

Yes indeed, by using your emergency fund to survive, just keep on trying to find ways in saving back.

Side hustle is something that will carry the load, if you have good skills, and you are willing to go out of your comfort zone
it will help a lot to survive and still live a life with a much decent style.

Your view point is very important in doing the decision if what will be the things that you'll going to sacrifice, with
a good judge you will be able to figure it out on your own interpretation.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Solana hit $40 this year? on: June 29, 2023, 06:08:27 PM
Maybe in the future it will going yo reach 40$ but for now i think it is hard for solana to reach that far the current price is above 20$ we need another 20$ rise to reach 40$ which is really impossible at this point of time since btc is stock on 30k$ at price,if btc rise up to 60k$ solana will have a chance to reach 40$ the problem is we don't know when will be the exact time of the next bull season.

Yeah, the possibility is always open for this project,

but the accurate time frame that's something that we can't predict.
As of this moment, SOL is moving good currently positive since BTC is also moving up a bit,

if Bitcoin starts a huge pump and will reach the last time high, we might see SOL to move as well and reach $40, depending on how the supporters and investors will push the price and continue the support, they will attract more additional investors to help the value to
spike up more.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 29, 2023, 05:48:58 PM

Donaire was a great example of a true champion, as he was well aware that Inoue could beat him again, and yet he still risked a unification match to test himself against Inoue once more.
Inoue is also a great example as he always seeks to fight the best opponents, which is why he became an undisputed champion in the bantamweight division. After winning, he wasted no time in moving up for the super bantamweight title match. If he succeeds again, it would be a tremendous accomplishment, and I am certain he will continue pushing his limits.

He had to climb in ranks though, as he started is fights all in Japan, but his handlers knows his true potential and they have been given the chance to fight in the US and be exposed from boxing fans because of Bob Arum.

So we might hate Bob Arum and Top Rank, but surely they know how to promote a fighter like Manny Pacquiao. And after winning the WBSS tournament, Inoue become a household name in the US and then he started his path to defeat all great fighters unifying all the belts.

Now, his journey continues as he might want to do it at 122 lbs.

There will be a time in the future for sure that he will have to fight in other countries like in US or somewhere in Europe, or even in the Middle East if Inoue will face an opponent that have a much bigger name than him. But not now because the organizer and promoter is more inclined to make the fight happen in Japan as it was already evident that they can generate big profits in that certain country and considering that Inoue won this fight and will take the undisputed fight, I'm also confident that they will contest the fight in Japan again instead of the Philippines where Marlon Tapales came from.

It's business not just a sport, so we can assume that if ever a unification will take place,

The chance that the fight will happen again in Japan is possible, if this upcoming fight will generate a huge amount of profits
then expect that promoters will take the same path, in terms of possible revenue for the Pinoy champ, An offer will be good
since he will be going to face or a possibility to face Inoue, a great paycheck is waiting for him.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 29, 2023, 12:22:03 PM
Maybe seeing Paul and Steph starting at the same time.
There is a possibility that this approach would help Curry conserve his energy, as they would already have a facilitator, while he and Thompson focus on finding open shots. It would result in a smaller lineup, but adjustments can always be made.

A very big adjustment here, in my opinion,

with how the Nuggets use that advantage against the Heat during the finals, we might see them duplicating
the same system, though I agree that CP3 will be a big help in terms of giving Curry and Thompson a good
breathing in, finding their spot to take much clear and open shots. He can provide space as he can also shoot
with a good percentage.

He won't be called as the Point-God if he himself cannot do the shots whenever the players that he is facilitating doesn't have any window but his shooting expertise comes 2nd as he is more useful in setting up the table for the team and for the Splash Brothers to do their thing with less hassle. And now that he's becoming more and more prone to injury, just like what others are saying, I guess the Warriors will just use him during the most important minutes of the game.

They need point guard that can set some plays to them while Curry is out of the game so I can still say that Paul's addition in the roster still fine in Warriors. They still have money to use to add a big man on their team so I guess they really plan this that's why they trade Poole just to reduce their cap space and get the players they want to add in their rotation plus to retain Green in the roster.

A good point guard who will facilitate the ball and allow the splash bros to take easier shots.

In terms of letting go Poole, I see the same they are reducing cap to acquire big role players to help them in terms of
playing defense, we don't know yet if the move of acquiring CP3 will help them or not, everything will be witness once they
already playing together.
325  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: June 29, 2023, 12:09:13 PM
We need to be aware of our spending. We need to control our spending because if our spending is more than what we earn it is not a good sign for our life and our future. We need to increase savings rather than spending. The government and banks have to step away from setting new rules and regulations on credit cards. This is because the most common type of personal loan so the government and banks can control this situation by themselves when one increases the rate of return on his credit repayments. I think we should refrain from borrowing. Borrowing someone's heart is upset, and if you want to ask for the money you owe, you will see that the heart becomes depressed.
Well paying attention to cash inflows and cash outflows in our finances is very important. At least everything has to be balanced. and the maximum we have to have more income than expenses. So that we can set aside money to save or invest. The situation that makes someone borrow is when the inflows and outflows are not balanced. i.e. our spending money is far more than our income. This is what makes someone compelled to make a loan. the solution to overcome this may be by trying to increase income. but it's not easy. but worth fighting for.

Without proper balance with your finances, yo'll end up loaning money to cover our lapses.

True, you need to add more sources of income to cover whatever is the need to cover in order not to barrow money
and to balance our finances, it's more about how you deal with your income and how you minimize your expenses and
maximize all possible resources.
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 29, 2023, 09:11:38 AM

For this fight, we have been discussing Donaire's age as a factor or non-factor.

Some of us see this as a major issue for Donaire now, as seen how brutal he as knockout by Inoue and it might hard for him to make a comeback. But there are majority who says that age is not a concern for Donaire, as he can still have the power and he has the experience in this fight. For me, I'm leaning towards the latter, I still see Donaire winning here.

He needs to use his experienced wisely, unlike with how he plans his strategy against Inoue,

This time he needs to lean with his experienced and not to engage that much with Santiago, he needs to use his
timing, as we know how good he is when observing his opponent and take that surprise attack to put it down.

Donaire still winning here from my own take, Santiago's capability is not the same or far from how Inoue dominated
this division.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: June 28, 2023, 05:37:15 PM
If you have experience playing gambling and have good self-control, it may be easy for you to stop. But not for those who can't stop because they will definitely keep playing and maybe until the money runs out. Almost all of us have experienced this where we must stop because we have no more money to keep gambling. We should understand when to stop before the money runs out so we don't get into trouble later. We can deposit some more money because we have run out of money to play gambling, which can cause financial problems.

Greed, overconfidence, and trying to recover from loss will always take over self-control in gambling. When you are gambling you get a false hope of control that brings excitement which forbids most of us to stop unless we end up with the money. I haven't found anyone able to stop before the money ends till now. The problem arises when we go ahead and start depositing more to recover our loss. This where the point of casual gambling ends and problem gambling starts.

The kind of action that mostly present when you start adding more money to your bankroll,

If you already exceeded from a set target, the next thing that might happen is you also going to lose your control with the
situation, I go with greediness as one major factor that pushes a gambler to try making more or try to play again to win back
what they already lost. A gesture that will bring you to a more complicated situation, as it will be the beginning of your addiction.

If they'll be able to develop a good chemistry, a strong bond as a friend,

Just like how Bam and Jimmy, if Dame will be able to adopt and fit himself the way these two stars are bonding together, for sure it will be a tough trio to beat up, all are a good threat when handling the ball but adding to that they are also good when playing decoy. More on chemistry blending if ever Dame manages to sign with the Heat.

They already have the necessary skills, so it's crucial for the chemistry to be formed. However, that is still far from happening, so we will have to wait for updates to see if Lillard would be able to join the Miami Heat. It would be a crucial move for both Lillard and the team, especially considering the Heat fell short in the last NBA Finals and were dominated. It's evident that there is a lot of room for improvement for the team.

I will remain hopeful that the Heat will improve, and if Lillard is the answer, then hopefully they will open doors for him.

Yeah right, still far from happening as there's no update yet and we are all just speculating if the trade will take place.

Though just in case and things went accordingly, it is also crucial if who's going to be the replacement, who's going to be traded
and what's the value of the player/s that will be shipped out from the squad, big star like Lilard will need to be a pricey trade
as we know, will know it when we hear any update if the trade rumors will happen.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 27, 2023, 12:23:39 PM
And it's going to be interesting how Jimmy will adjust and let Dame be the center of their offense if ever he goes to the Heat.

I don't see it as a problem with Jimmy because he has been on different teams where he wasn't the main scorer. So, I'm confident they will be a good fit. Jimmy, being a great defender, might also be able to help Lillard improve his defense. I hope this happens because having two reliable scorers on the team would contribute to the Heat's future success. Who knows, this could be the opportunity for Jimmy to win his first NBA championship alongside Lillard.

He's not selfish player like other stars so for sure he can share the ball with Lillard if he will go to Miami. For sure his main focus is to win and get a chip, other than that maybe there's a little issue but for sure it will be fix since the team chemistry has been proven already and might they will be a perfect blend with Lillard and they can make this as a better team. Miami is so hungry with championship so for sure he they do all what it takes just to get their own rings.

~snip~
Trying to get back the lost money is only a camouflage to continue gambling, even though the goal of those who are too addicted is to fulfill their gambling desires. they believe that they will win and hit the big Jackpot, but in reality they spend too much money. what was originally a means of fun instead became a place to throw all the money.
This means that the goal of gambling has changed to wanting to satisfy the desire to gamble and is no longer chasing victory. But even so, they should be able to think that what they are doing has a big risk of losing more money where they can become addicted to gambling and when that happens, they can lose more money. They may also find it difficult to get the big jackpot because it depends on their gambling luck. So it's better always to control yourself, always control the use of money, and stop immediately before you lose more money.
planning a gambling budget with a small amount that can afford to lose and gambling responsibly, that's the best way for me to be able to control your gambling sessions.
maybe everyone has a different way, but the goal remains the same, namely to control yourself not to gamble too often.
If gamblers can do this method, I'm sure it will be very easy to stay away from addiction and stay safe.
I will always support those who say that they bet very little money, because I know they are clear that it is the money they are willing to lose, it is risky, loseable money, and that it can multiply at any moment if they have the touch of Good luck, this can happen, in a casino there will always be the possibility that I say, but of course, those who allocate little money seem very intelligent to me, just to have fun and just to have a good time, without looking for profit, because it becomes pressure and Stress is something very intelligent, and I hope many would think that way, because they would change the way they see everything about casinos and obviously there would be no addicts.

If you are not aiming for a quick way to earn, I mean if you don't have that wrong impressions into gambling.

Using the amount that you are willing to let go, sparing it for the sake of entertainment is something that wise gambler
is really capable, they can calculate and they can execute that kind of engagement without any fear of exceeding and
losing a lot of money, with the kind of setup addiction is also being catered, not allowing too much engagements and
exposure to gambling.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 26, 2023, 05:32:14 PM

Now, fighting with another young aspiring fighter, let see if how Donaire will try his best to reclaim the title
after Inoue vacated the belt.

Yes, he is the favorite in this fight based on experience and the tools and we have seen Donaire somewhat dominating this division. But Inoue is the king of 118 lbs obviously and Nonito is the second best. But since Inoue has move up, then perhaps Nonito can get back and claim his belt back.

We will see if he can still show the fans why he once dominated this division before Inoue take the belt from him.

Surely it will be an anticipated fight from his loyal fans and with the expectations of winning this upcoming fight, we will
see if Donaire can still bring that same performance and bring the same outcome against a much younger and an aspiring
fighter who is also dreaming to reach his time on being a champ.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 26, 2023, 08:41:40 AM
[....]
So it might be a 3 year deal for Green worth $100 Million++
Damn! That's a huge L for the Warriors if they grant Green that much for a 3-year deal imo. I think $80M would be the more ideal or the max contract they should offer. That's probably enough money to show respect for his previous contributions to the team that brought four championships before they part ways. This is great for Draymond if he gets that over $100M and probably bad for Klay when he becomes a UFA next season.

I think that's a bad deal.
Why pay 100 million for 3 years for a guy who is averaging a tripple single.  Grin

Of course he has "veteran leadership" and is a 2 way player, but not for that money. Age is also a big factor, also his brain farts he likes to produce. Never forgetting his endless run of flagrant fouls and brain less buzzer beater attempts instead of passing the ball to Steph or Klay.

He is a deserving franchise player but you should make this a better business decision, especially with the new CBA coming.

If we look solely at the stats, we might criticize or think that he is overvalued. However, man, the Warriors definitely know what they are doing, and even if you ask an expert, they'll say that Green is truly one of the major reasons the Warriors achieved their previous championships. I would say that Green is the obvious leader of the team. Without him, this Warriors team might struggle and wouldn't be as fun to watch anymore.

I will rest my case on how the management will take care of this matter,

I do believe that they know it well more than how readers and fans are looking at it. Business wise, Warriors need to
consider the good ties of all those supporters knowing how they value the contributions that Greens gave them from
the past. Though on the other side, affecting Klay might be another concern if they will give Green huge offer if they
will grant what he's asking they might be having some concern after Thompson's contract.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 26, 2023, 08:33:01 AM

And following that argument, I also believe that the challenge or pressure is on the side of Fulton
he's the current champ and he also flying to Inoue's homeland, another factor that will bring the
aggressiveness on Inoue's side.

I agree. He will be competing in Japan, which is considered a tough venue to win in. Therefore, he should engage in a toe-to-toe battle with Inoue and aim for a knockout if he wants to ensure victory. Simply running and scoring points wouldn't work against Inoue, as the latter is also quick and possesses jabs that could seriously harm his opponent.

Inoue seeks action, so to prevent this fight from becoming boring, Fulton needs to employ a different style—one that would intimidate Inoue and prevent him from being the aggressive attacker.

The homeland of a fighter will have the momentum and help the countrymen win against their opponent in short You are right that mate Homeland is an advantage for inoue as we all know that people around that country will give their full support to their fighter which is inoue. And for the champ Fulton for sure he will feel a nervous because only few people will support him in the venue.
It is a challenge for Fulton to fight in foreign country where his opponent came from. But I don't think it can discourage him to do his best regardless of how many fans are cheering for him to win this fight. On the other side, it's an advantage for Inoue to fight in his home country but as others have said already, all his wins are convincing and not biased, that's how powerful Inoue is. So Fulton needs to prepare himself to have an edge.

That advantage is something that Inoue will use to manifest a win,

Fighting in front of your home crowd and fulfilling what the fans are aiming at why they are watching the fight, it's something
that he will bring to entertain and delight everyone, a very good inspiration to bring all the best and try achieving to win another
title in a different division. All will be depends on how both fighters will showcase their skills and talents.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 07:34:47 PM
He has already declined an offer and I think if he'll negotiate with that, he have already done but he's probably going somewhere else and that's what his heart is telling him.

But for sure that the Warriors are open for him to comeback and alter his decision about the decline that he has made.
He had a wish and his thoughts were different from everyone's expectations so turning down the offer was his heart's decision.
After all, accepting an offer in a team when he has no intention or compulsorily accepting will also never give good results in the future.
There may be other options but we don't know which one he will choose later.

Yes, the Warriors are always open for him to come back at any time and this is a tough decision whether to return for the Warriors or follow his heart.
It's a tough decision for him.

But, we all know what's in it for him already and we just have to wait for further news regarding his signing/declining of contract. Whether it'll be again with the Warriors which he had already declined it.

Or, whether it's with a new team that he wants to get signed then his fans will just have to continue supporting him. Just like Poole that had been traded, he just had to bear with the reality or it should be everyone.

Nothing is certain inside NBA. We don't know if he will receive another offer to play back after he grants his option, time
for him to re-negotiate and see if what are his other options are .

Green knows how to play and he will use everything to enjoy his option. I really love seeing him still with the splash
bro, that strong bonds between them are already established, we all know the communication is very important
and with them alongside the court, they all know where to go and where to find each other, something that I can say
that the management will also look upon.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: June 25, 2023, 05:31:05 AM
People who gamble deal with gambling in different ways. But of course you start with losing and winning. When we win, the moods are usually reasonably comparable, but the problems naturally arise when a player is losing. Some cry in a corner and avoid all contact with other players. And yet other gamblers who have lost need contact to push away the gambling loss and try to forget that a financial blow has taken place. There are also several books written about it, by the way, for enthusiasts.
For every player it will always be essential to have full control of their thoughts, emotions and above all the money they can handle, for this reason I always say, a person who enters a casino always enters with the thought that they cannot see or casino as an ATM, but see it as a means where you will have a part of your money for fun and not to win necessarily, that is what many do not see, and I call it maturity, as a person goes advancing in the game that is what you learn and above all to manage your money and everything that has to do with your vision

With a kind of mindset, it will lessen the pressure of trying to win out from the casino.

But we know in reality we will have that fun. I mean, we will be able to maximize the fun when we exit with a decent amount
of winning, right? Though it's always or most of the time, it's also the problem as the appetite for gambling is increasing
and we for sure wanted to earn more enjoyment together with more money involve.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 25, 2023, 04:14:17 AM
Personally, I would like Nonito Donaire to be able to demonstrate that age is not an impediment to sport, on the contrary, that the more seniority and the more experience the better for every boxer and I believe that for every athlete, this It is something that will always be noticed, not only in boxing do you see these things, but also in soccer I have seen that the players always do whatever it takes to look fit and be in shape, so that new players do not surpass them or hurt them. gain in speed, that's what they always fear, but that's something that can go wrong, in boxers things look different.

There is a reason why a boxer in his prime is often evaded by people who take so much care about their winning streak.  Prime boxer has the optimum output and performance to beat their opponent.  No matter how we think that older boxer has more experience, the younger boxer has their camp with experienced coaches and trainers that can guide them through out their carreer.  If the younger boxer is a good learner then the advantage of an old veteran can be nullified.

Although athletes can make themselves fit, older athletes cannot perform like their prime day since their ability might have deteriorated due to old age.  The one that most affected is reflex, speed. We have seen how Donaire slowed down in executing his counters when he fought Inoue and how his performance degraded in their rematch.

I get your point, but we also need to consider that it was Inoue and the adjustment he did after that first fight
is really different. He knows that speed is his advantage, and he demonstrates that during the fight.

Donaire, on the other hand, can't do anything about that. Inoue is on his prime and both speed and strength
are accurately being executed.

Now, fighting with another young aspiring fighter, let see if how Donaire will try his best to reclaim the title
after Inoue vacated the belt.
338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: June 25, 2023, 03:50:23 AM
Hi!

I have heard about Bitcoin back in 2017 but never got to learn regarding about it. I always thought that crypto was a fluke and that it would definitely not be a type of transaction until pandemic happens. So, as the title would suggest, is it too late to start investing on crypto? And if not, what would be the essentials to learn on working on it?

Thanks in advance!
You have heard about Bitcoin in 2017 i think it is not too late. Even now who are knowing about bitcoin it also too late i couldn’t think that. I think where bitcoin price will go that's we Couldn't imagine. Like in 2009/2010 many people couldn’t imagine bitcoin price will hit $30k or ATH $69k. And when mining will end then bitcoin price will go moon. I think then bitcoin buy will be impossible for us. So i think if you bought from 2017 then Bitcoin price was very low. And if you also bought now that’s will also big asset for you. And you will be profitable in future. If you bought 1Btc your life will be seattle. In future bitcoin price will hit $100k+ there has no doubt it is my own analysis. Thankyou.

Something that you really needed to figure out in yourself,

If you have that sentiment about Bitcoin then go for it, not too late as the value is still far from the last ATH,
take time to backtrack all the details and all those factors that make a certain movement.

with that knowledge upon, you'll be able to decide by yourself if it's still a good time for you to buy and hold
or better to wait a little to place a much better entry.

It's true that it's better to do your own research so you know what to decide,
occasionally pay attention to other people's suggestions but don't make it the basis for making your decisions,
in the end after going through the process I think you will know whether this is still a good time to buy or not.

Use other's opinion to weight your decision but not to blindly follow anything,

It's you who needs to work on your investment, from sorting to picking the project that you will invest
those are very important matter. With the setup, there's no one to blame your money, your obligation to
protect from any form of scam projects. In terms of late or not, I like to agree that after doing your research
and study it's you to decide and answer it.

Can't agree more with op. Thats highly risky cause i experience a lots of coin who get vanished after token sale. Besides if that token doesn’t get exchange that means I'll loss full of my capital, no way to have small recovery by selling with low price.  guarantee for exchange. Buying token during pre sale will be good decision only for potential coin, not for meme coin and you are promoting another  copycat of pepe. Maybe because of seeing pepe popularity, they name their coin after pepe cause team doesn’t have power to make it promoted by themself but for the sake of pepe

Meme coins are always accompanied by high-risk investment. You should take it only if you are willing to lose.

The point is, if you are not willing to let go and you are afraid of losing your money, it's better to buy a good asset and follow
their development, instead of taking that risk with meme project that you are unsure, the only thing that may bring
investors and traders is to ride along when the project got hype, but after that expect the worse if you don't know how to
play with the situation.

Victor Wembanyama is lauded, but will he really be okay? Most of the tall players drafted in recent years have disappeared, except for 2-3. It's interesting that a French Power Forward was undoubtedly picked first in the draft, I call it the Doncic and Jokic factor. If they had not been so successful, we would not have seen the first pick tall European to be chosen. It will be good for the player that he goes to the Spurs. The organization that shines International players best may be Spurs. Let's see what he will do in the rookie season.

Wemby is a total package and a freak of nature and we have never seen anybody like him before base on his performances. I am too is looking forward if he's gonna live up to the hype or gonna be devastated with an injury. I can only see one reason if he can't live up to the hype, major injury.
One of the most important fundamental these new players should focus their attention to is their durability. The ability to absorb injuries to avoid a major one.
Let's see what Wemby can do now that he's in the NBA. I'm a bit confident he'll do good. European basketball has better defense that the NBA.

Looking forward to see him manifesting with what coach Pop will bring to him,

Not sure about the injury, but maybe he can be like Banchero as he manages to play with some minor injury and survive the
season, if Wemby will also do the same and he will be paired or surrounded by good role players.

The chance of making his name and bringing the Spurs back as a contender might take place. Too early to conclude
what he can contribute, let the time will reveal that for us.
