321  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be Taxed...... on: December 28, 2017, 11:18:38 PM
This is just a prove that bitcoin's popularity is so widespread now that the government takes advantage unto it by taxing it. Its sad that ive read here that more and more countries started to tax it and it id not possible that my country is next.

Just to remind everyone, bitcoins has always been taxable from the beginning, though not the use of it per se. The thing is, if you profit from buying bitcoins and selling them at a higher price, then you are profiting. That means you are liable for income tax to your government since you profited. It doesn't matter where the source of the income came from, the thing is you profited which is taxable in most jurisdictions.
322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Right time to buy bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 11:10:10 PM
Seriously, you seem to be a newbie at trading and asking people whether to buy or not. To be honest with you, there is no good advice for it. It will always be your decision when to buy as there is no one that can predict accurately the price of bitcoins in the future. It is a volatile market and the swings it makes is likely the hardest thing to predict. Though I would say that continuously buying bitcoins is always a good choice as likely in the future it will likely be worth a lot more than today.
323  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rocket is coming...Time to Buy BTC $$$ on: December 28, 2017, 11:00:36 PM
It is funny because you said that the price was going to be $30k, and it did not even happened, anyway, i am really optimist at this moment, i am scared about what is probably going to happen but we all know that the price is always going to go up

This is temporary. This is has happened quite a few times already just this year. This is just a temporary market correction and likely the price will go back up again in a few weeks time. I do think bitcoins are done going up, there is likely still room for growth and we can still expect it to go up. The price right now is pretty low compared to how much it could potentially grow. Remember, bitcoins are indeed the future.
324  Economy / Economics / Re: Five common mistakes made by Bitcoin users on: December 28, 2017, 10:54:32 PM
As a newbie, the mistakes I've done is not checking the address I sometimes send to and placing the wrong fees that would cause my transaction to get stuck (though back then I was able to accelerate them using the free accelerators but they don't work nowadays). I think most newbies will experience this. The use of bitcoins has a steep learning curve especially for people that don't have much know-how in using it, so it is expected.
325  Economy / Economics / Re: DON'T DO PANIC SELLING !!! on: December 28, 2017, 10:43:44 PM
Well, I guess everybody just did a panic sell after the price of bitcoins reached an all time high around $19,000. I did expect it though, as the price has risen quite fast and very high for no reason at all. I would say that prices should always be growing steadily or exponentially (but not at the level we've just experienced). Though I guess the recent drop was indeed due to the correction of the price but that also includes the effect of people that panic sold their holdings.
326  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fork coming tomorrow, I would withdraw all of your coins from Nitro ASAP on: December 28, 2017, 09:32:25 PM
....
Is there a website? Also, a guy above said something about it not being affiliated with the original 2x or soemthing. Is this definitely a scam or what? I am slightly confuesed about what is going on.

It looks like a scam in my opinion.

1. They are not supported by any of the major wallets (software wallets as well as hardware wallets)
2. No support by the big exchanges, it will only get listed on rather obscure exchanges or exchanges
that literally list every shitcoin
3. Lack of development activity
4. 6M BTC pre-mine according to Github (this fact alone should be a huge red flag)

I donīt think that it makes much sense to claim this fork unless you have a
BTC balance at one of the obscure exchanges anyway.

The bitcoin fork scams are getting out of hand really, this is causing too much problems everywhere. Indeed this is the not original segwit2x fork which the people at the New York Agreement signed because there isn't anyone from that group every advertising this coming fork. It's really getting ridiculous. I do think this is really because of the previous forks that caused this problem.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The best crypto lotteries? on: December 28, 2017, 09:28:07 PM
Lotteries aren't really popular around here, I guess. There are various reasons why lotteries aren't really getting enough attentions. First is that most lotteries are take a while to draw, and I think the cryptocurrency community doesn't like waiting. Another is that every bet requires that you deposit your bet on an address, and with today's transaction fees, that would be extremely ridiculous. Further, the prizes in lotteries around here are nowhere near what you can win over at real lotteries, this also means that the house edge of those lottery games are quite high if you calculate it.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are the Big Gambling sites paying taxes? on: December 28, 2017, 09:11:17 PM
This had me thinking,
Since its all in cryptocurrencies, do these sites even open a company and declare their earnings?

What is the legal approach here?

Is opening a company more profitable? since paying company tax is usually lower than personal tax?
Also all of this has to be done where online gambling is legal?

Thanks.

It depends on their country wherr they are operating because that if the country that they are operating have regulations in place for digitized currency or cryptocurrency then there kust be something that we should all do in regards to following them

Generally every business should be paying taxes, however I don't think every online casino is doing it. I think if they can get away with it, they will. Anyway, how will governments tax them unless they declare they are operating under them then no one can really know that they need to be taxed. Taxing something online is really a difficult thing to do, since it is not physical and it crosses all jurisdictions of the world because it is online.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does experience matter in gambling? on: December 27, 2017, 11:58:38 PM
Experience does matter at a certain degree. It's better to know what you are doing rather than playing without a single clue what might happen next.

Knowing the possible results is not really related to experience. What you are describing is merely knowing the rules and how the game works. Experience is something else. It is a result of playing the game over and over again to some extent that would result to you mastering the activity or have a better chance at winning the game due to that advantage. Problem is, this is not the case in gambling. No matter how much times you gamble, you can never chance the outcome of the games you play.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with altcoins on: December 27, 2017, 11:52:37 PM
If I was going to gamble for profit I would use bitcoin but if it just for fun and enjoyment I would be more inclined to use alt coins. Although if I did win big with them I would have been annoyed that I didn't use bitcoin.

What's the difference, I see no difference with what you just stated. There is no advantage when you use bitcoins for gambling if you just want to enjoy or you want to make a profit. They both have the same chances of winning or even profits. If you gamble with altcoins it is also the same, you will have no advantage doing so. In fact it is much more disadvantageous to use altcoins as you have the converting to it problem.
Bitcoin and altcoins has their respective value, the only big difference why people will prefer to use altcoins is because of the transaction fee, but I can still say that there are still a lot of bitcoin users than altcoins users in gambling because bitcoin is more popular and people trust it more than altccoins. For people, who are wise enough and constantly gamble, they will take advantage on the less transaction fees as long as a certain altcoins is a high volume ones.
Right, the amount of cash you will have to pay as transaction fee is just quite huge and that makes it unbearable and having to wait a long time even with the transaction fee even sucks the more. Just recently, I tried withdrawing from freebitco.in and now it has taken over 2 days even after it has been added to a block and still not confirmed yet. Altcoins are already taking the space.

Problem is, if you do not have bitcoins then there is little chance that you would have altcoins. There are not much services accepting fiat as payment to get altcoins. Usually, to get altcoins you have to trade bitcoins for them, hence the problem now is that you will still have to use bitcoins. If you have bitcoins then deposit it directly to the casino than do the extra step of converting your bitcoins to altcoins and vice versa when you want to cash out.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling site closed? Why? on: December 27, 2017, 11:46:19 PM
I guess rollin.io didn't really have enough players to keep it running. Problem was that they didn't have a strong player base so they can keep on running like how primedice has lasted over the years. Also, this casino has been one of the most active casinos to give away free btc for the longest time. They consistently gave out bitcoins quite easily but that didn't really improve their situation. Well, probably this was just a normal lifecycle for a casino, nothing last forever anyway.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you care? on: December 27, 2017, 11:36:43 PM
I do not care about this question because I just come to enjoy the game. But since I sometimes have winnings, I think that gambling institutions work honestly.

If the system of casinos and facilities are great, then no more question about it. But here in my place, casinos are very so unfair when it comes to rate, machines and so on. Well basically I go to casino some time just to have fun and not really to make money.

That should be the goal of every gamble, just to have fun and not to aim for profits. However, I do believe that we should still play on fair casinos and avoid those that cheat. For the reason that it ruins the fun in the games as being a fair game is part of the fun. If you just consistently lose on the game then that removes the fun out of the gambling game. You should really consider just playing online, as there are a lot of casinos that are fair online and that have very low house edge.
333  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fork coming tomorrow, I would withdraw all of your coins from Nitro ASAP on: December 27, 2017, 11:28:00 PM
Unless Nitrogen is not going to issue you the segwit2x coins, there is really no point in withdrawing. Just to inform you, even exchanges disable withdrawal and deposit of bitcoins 24hrs (or even 48hrs) before a fork happens. It's a normal procedure for them to be able to access how much of the altcoin they are going to give out to each user. I do think it is fairly reasonable to do so as it prevents the possibility of over sending the newly created coin.

I am not sure though if Nitrogen is going to give out the fork coin after the fork, so check with them.
334  Economy / Gambling / Re: "The Welcome Bonus Gimmick" - STOP GETTING BLINDLY ROBBED on: December 27, 2017, 11:15:56 PM
It is still a bonus though, but do you really expect a gambling site to give you free money? Why would anyone give anyone free money right? The bonus are really just that, "bonuses". They are not free money. There are terms and conditions to them to get them. That is why it is also part of the gamble. You are gambling whether you will get the bonus or not, plain and simple. If you don't want the bonus, there is always the option to opt-out anyway.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What was your worst mistake in Gambling? on: December 27, 2017, 05:35:40 PM
It would be being over cocky and getting a lot greedy. It is not always that you win big in gambling but it is more often that you lose more in gambling than you win. I would say the worst mistake I've done is to gamble my already concrete winnings. Not only did I lose the winnings but I also lost a significant amount of the money I had in my initial bankroll. I guess the lesson there is to not be greedy.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what impact has gambling make in your life? on: December 27, 2017, 05:22:22 PM
I think we would all agree that gambling taught us when to give up, if you still haven't learned this you're either a newbie or a retard (atleast in my opinion)
I am in an overall profit through sports betting and poker.
I gamble for fun, i am proud to say i am not addicted to it, for me gambling is like a leisure activity, people go and spend money at bars, hotels and even strip clubs, i just tend to spend some of my money in gambling. I know when to stop and how much to spend.
Also, poker taught me a thing or two about people and their behavior.

i started gambling as my way to release my stress and it turn out to addiction i can't control myself playing and the impact was so bad or worst there were times that i lend money from my friends and family just to gamble but one day i realize that this is not good anymore i started to control myself i started to stay away from people who influence me in gambling.. i don't say that i don't gamble today i just learned when to stop when it's not good anymore.
There are people who are too late in realizing this, i am just glad you did in the right time. It's never too late.
Also, never gamble with the money you owe someone, NEVER!

It's not really when to give up, its probably more on when to stop playing and cash out your profits or forgo those losses. Giving up means completely stopping and not really coming back. Gambling is indeed some hard to do. A lot of people get addicted to the thought that they could win big amounts of money. Not thinking that they could equally lose the same amount of money or even greater.
337  Economy / Gambling / Re: Your lack of Vigilance is costing YOU - Wake up! on: December 27, 2017, 04:17:36 PM
Vigilance is still not the problem. Even if you are vigilant but do not know what to be vigilant about then there is no point. The fact is that people are not aware of what to look out for, heck for sure more than half of the people that try to gamble don't even know how the site is able to roll a random number (which is not actually random by the way, it is just simulating "randomness"). I do believe that in terms of the gambling sites, there should be some sort of centralized authority that would check the gambling sites if they are truly "provably fair". I know that people around here hate the word "centralized" but I believe this is a necessary evil.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: can gambling give you lessons in life? on: December 27, 2017, 04:09:21 PM
Yes of course can give you a lot of lessons in life, in terms of financial losses that can teach  you how to value money in a matter of time. Because thar time you are engaged in gambling is you are not thinking to earn money for your family and the only thing you aim is to win and not lossing. If we generally analyze the whole idea here, you didn't expect to loss and yet you really loss because gambling always make's you loss rathen than winning. Having a bigger lossea that cannot be recovered by playing again will certainly give you a nice lessons that will also give you the principle of not joining gambling bets anymore; life will be change as well.

Yes gambling gives me lesson in life. Gambling makes mysterable my life when lm addicted on gambling. All my properties was sold my worst  thing during gambling is l gamble because .

Then I do hope you learned a lesson not to waste all your money in gambling. Indeed gambling is fun and addictive, the thought that you could win millions of dollars just by rolling a dice is very tempting but also consider that you could lose all your money just by a roll of a dice as well, like what happened to you. Gambling should just be enjoyed with little money as possible so that you do not regret losing the money you played with.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play with your profit or not? on: December 27, 2017, 04:02:02 PM
Yes, actually, I always do that. From my greediness, I lose all my profits. But, several days ago I just lucky I've clicked stop once I reach my profit target. I really suggest you guys to not gamble with 200-300% of your profits, you can win more but, if you lose, you lose them all. Try to withdraw some of your profits and play again with your first balance. In case your greediness was higher than ever, stop it for several hours, if you feel good enough to gamble again, then you are ready to go.
- Greed is always an issue that can not be solved in gambling, we can not completely control it, it likes to come, it will come, we can not be prevented, so we can not know when our greed becomes higher than ever and if we fall into this case, losing all is probably a sure thing. Set goals and withdraw profits, that would be effective if we gambled in a short time, more precisely, gambling is not regular, that method would be helpful, but if gambling has become a habit, whether we do anything, sooner or later we lose all our profits and our money.

I do believe that it is possible to overcome greed. The thing is a to overcome greed you need to set standards and limits. If in case you win a set amount then it is time to quit, but if you lose a set amount as well then it is also time to quit. The problem is, there are only a few gamblers that do this. With that in mind, a regular gambler who doesn't set limits gets greedy after winning a few games. In the end he losses the winnings and end up in losses.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your first betting? on: December 27, 2017, 03:59:54 PM
My first gambling is dice and the first website is bitsler. They let free faucets winner withdraw the balance and that feature is already fixed.

Pretty bold of you to start with Dice, this is one of the games that has bankrupt and made a lot of gamblers addicted to gambling. Though that is true that free faucets are nice for beginners, but I do believe that is how the gambling sites get you. There is indeed quite a lot of sites offering faucets, but in the end they actually win against the gamblers even if they give out free money to test the dice game. The reason is that they keep on letting people try to gamble and once the gambler deposits, then the site wins because they convinced someone to deposit money into their site.
