321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about Arbitrum future? on: February 03, 2024, 02:51:22 PM
Arbitrum's TVL has grown expotentially lately, it's the reason for the price hike you are seeing. However, I expect it to dump with the huge unlock that's coming in March, unless there is some change in that unlock via governance, it's likely to dump somewhat.

Personal opinion, I like Optimism better than Arbitrum, but Arbitrum has highest TPS among Layer 2s, and constant development so I'm gonna hold some for indefinite amount of time.
Bro I was not aware of any token unlock coming in march. I was thinking that Arbitrum might pump in near future but just what you told us, changed my mind. if they are really going to have a huge token unlock in march then I agree with you that their token price will be dumped a lot.
And then it would take some time to recover.
I think it is not wise to invest in Arbitrum then until April or May after some certainity of their token unlock. if the price really dumped then that would be a good chant to accumulate some ARB tokens.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: February 03, 2024, 02:42:43 PM
My prediction is that Solana will rise again after the case with FTX and Alameda Research, Solana looks strong after falling to 8$ at the end of last year, now it is at 54$.
I think the last storm before the halving will still be there once again. But Solana will get through this.
Bro. your prediction became successful lol.
Solana really did came back from deads. well it was not totally dead but after FTX and alameda incidents Solana was one of the project which got effected badly. but now after a long time we can see that Solana gradually recovered. and again got traders and investors trust back.
and now after so many new projects with airdrops coming in solana blockchain like Jupital. Jito and all they made Solana stronger than ever.

324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid getting rugpulled on: February 02, 2024, 03:04:08 PM
I know there are other ways we do fall victim which I think is ok if we share our experience as well but then, how can we bypass this?

1. Check their community: check if their community is active with real humans, not bots

2. How many followers they got

3. How often do they post on social media

4. How many exchanges got them listed? The two qualified exchanges I check, which I have mentioned frequently are Binance and Bitget. These two Cex usually list quality tokens which from my experience I have benefited from
all these things you mentioned are actually being used by shittokens to rugpull innocent investors. getting a lot of followers in social media and active community is very easy with little bit money nowadays. they pay some money do some marketing. build a community. get hundreds of thousands of followers then innocent people like you think that is a legit project and fall fo them.
the only way to avoid ruggpuls are to not invest in any project in early phase. only invest when you see the project is properly launched with a working product and listed in reputable exchanges.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will still be my choice this year. on: February 02, 2024, 02:59:32 PM
If they ask me to make a choice on altcoin to invest in this new year, Ethereum will still be my choice because I know that their team are strong team and they are capable to make Ethereum the king among all the altcoins in the market for investors to continue making it for their choice. If you look at the altcoins market very well you will see that Ethereum is about to reach $3k and if it happen this year it will help those of us that are lovers of Ethereum to make another huge amount of profits from the market. I know, we still have some good altcoins in the market to invest and everyone has his own choice to make in the market to invest in any altcoins of his or her choice which I chose Ethereum as my choice this year, what is your own choice in altcoins investment if they ask you to invest again in altcoins?

Do you think I make a good choice this year or I should include BNB so that if one is delaying me in the market, I can try the other one to achieve what I want .
you have all the right to choose ethereum. I respect your love and enthusiasm for ethereum. but I don't agree with you that ethereum is the best coin for investors, ethereum has been trading between 2k and 3k. while there are so many other altcoins which double and trippled in price. see solana for example. few months ago that was trading at $20. and now it is $100 now which one is better for investor's benefit? i think solana is better.
Ethereum is a good altcoin, and surely still the second altcoin after bitcoin. but earning and profit wise there are better options.
326  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying goods or services using crypto on: February 02, 2024, 02:51:29 PM
I have been associated with crypto currency for a long time and some people around me are also aware of crypto currency but I have not seen any such real crypto service in our country because cryptocurrency is not legal in my country. In other countries transactions are done through crypto currency, various products are bought and sold through crypto currency. In my country, I don't get the opportunity to buy and sell any product through this currency.
Yeah it is true that in so many countries it is still legally not possible to buy real life products and services using crypto. but I heard many people doing that under the table. there are communities in such countries and small wonders who accept bitcoin for their services.
besides that you can buy online services and digital products with your bitcoin.
it is funny that crypto is not legal in those countries but still those countries have huge number of crypto users. that proves that no one can control crypto. govt, banks. none.
327  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Has your bank or credit card told you they will stop you buying crypto? on: February 02, 2024, 02:46:34 PM

I think they have the right to set those limits because that is within their control. They have the right thing by warning you before they actually took action, because you have violated their terms. As long as you use their services, you still have to comply even it's your money, or you get outfrom there.
You are right here. if people trust those financial companies with their money then they must follow their rules too. they should be mentally prepared to follow their rules or loose their money.
that is another reason why I think everyone should have full control over their money. which is possible with either keeping your cash at home. or getting into bitcoin. with bitcoin you have full control over your money. you are your won bank. no one can say how you can spend your money. what you can buy and what not. and there is no risk of your money getting freezed.
328  Economy / Economics / Re: A course worth studying ? on: February 02, 2024, 02:42:30 PM
So, I watched a video recently where the guest speaker said, that if he gets the opportunity to advise teens in high school he would tell them not to study economics, and it made me scared because I'm studying economics. So, it was like... ' Did I make the wrong choice or something? '. Moving further in the video, I realized that what he was saying and explaining had already been said by my economics lecturer before.

"Economics is a day-to-day practice and is an easy endeavor made difficult for study reasons", he usually said. Watching the video to the end, I asked myself, "If I had the opportunity to go back in time would I pick another course to study? " And the answer was ..." No". And if I have the opportunity to advise any high school student about courses to choose... I'd say "Economics". The more people learn about even basic economics, the better the economy of countries.

So, if you had the opportunity to advise people about courses to choose In University, what would it be and why?
Never listen to these so-called motivational speakers in the internet. they are doing a great job demotivating people and distract them from anything they are doing and want them to do what they want..
every professional, every subject have it's own important. some people like that some people don't. but that doens't mean ecnomic is not a good subject.
I think every one should know basic of ecnomics because we are all connected with economy at some point.
ecnomics is part of every household. making budget of monthly expenses, savings and all these. they are all part of ecnomics.
so I'd learning basic ecnomics should be compulsry for everyone.
329  Economy / Economics / Re: Business/Entrepreneurship. on: February 02, 2024, 02:37:40 PM
A wise man once said "Entrepreneurs are problem solvers" usually looking for new ways and solutions to both existing and newly discovered problems. So, the word innovation and entrepreneurship work hand in hand and cannot be put separately

Although the words business and Entrepreneurship have been used interchangeably they aren't the same. While Entrepreneurship has to do with the indulgence and bringing up of something new despite the risk, while, business has to do with capital and profit straight up. Here, you buy other people's products and sell them at a higher price.
Both have risks, but that of Entrepreneurship spells out risk itself. Even though I can't shake off the fact that entrepreneurship is simply capitalizing on People's problems to make a profit, I can say that entrepreneurship has positively helped a lot of people.

So, if you had the opportunity to invest your money into something would it be to start up something regardless of the amount of risks that come with it, or would you rather open a business or make a simple investment into assets?

you are right about that. Entrepreneurship and Busines are two completely different things. it is funny to see that so many people call themselves entrepreneur while simply making replica of any existing business.
it looks like anyone who doing online business tend to call himself an entrepreneur .
even youtubers, bloggers and social media influencers think they are entrepreneur. do you think online business owners are entrepreneurs or not?
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google Updates policy allowing bitcoin and crypto assets trust to be advertised. on: February 02, 2024, 02:33:26 PM
Nobody cares about their update anyway. They and Facebook cause FUD some few years back by banning crypto related ads for no proper reason, yet they would still allow phishing scams and Ponzi schemes to be advertised, and now they made a U turn?
I have just one word for them, clowns! 🤡
you are so right about them allowing scam and phishing ads. specially facebook and twitter, they are filled with phishing ads. twitter is full of fake airdrop ads and they don't even care.
anyone can promote anything using google ads and they pretend to be strict and regulated. they are nothing but jokes.
but still a lot of people making a living out of them with working on google adsense.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference Between Fiat Currency and Bitcoin on: February 02, 2024, 02:25:40 PM
Good comparision. But:

1: Bitcoin is now getting more adoption and it is accepted as a legal tender of one country "El Salvador"
5: Bitcoin has a high transaction fee that is true. but sometimes fiat currency transaction fee are way higher than Bitcoin. some Banks charge higher to send funds to another bank.
6: Fiat currency can be stored in a person's physical wallet too. and can be stored in his home safe deposit

also your thread needs to be formated properly. it is a bit difficult to read it.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binary Trade Better or Better to Buy and Hold Bitcoin? on: February 02, 2024, 02:12:31 PM
I have been in a dilemma for some time now. Do I invest Bitcoin or I will start binary trade. I could not understand anything. Sometimes I feel like doing binary trade. I think that if I don't lose it, it goes around in my mind. But I did a lot of messing with Bitcoin. And read many websites and articles. After seeing everything and I have been around in the crypto world for a long time. I have experience on Bitcoin because Bitcoin 2022 was priced a lot. But now 2023 he is going to Bitcoin and at the beginning of this 24th and I am growing. For that I ask you for feedback if you give your valuable ideas then what is better for me because I have been in conflict with Aibitcoin and Binary Trade for a long time. But in many places I see that I have people and some they are making a lot of money.
why can't you do both?  I assume by binary trading you mean with fiat.
do you know that you can do binary trading with bitcoin and altcoin too right? you can invest in bitcoin and also do trading at same time. now if the reason of asking this question is lack of funds than that's a different story.
In that case I would suggest you to go with Bitcoin. You can either HOLD or Trade with them if you have experience with trading.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silly and scary questions, and what would you do if that were you. on: February 02, 2024, 02:05:03 PM
I became worried and found it difficult to answer after my friend asked me scary and ridiculous questions about Bitcoin ownership.
he asked. If friends, new acquaintances, or other people find out that you have a sizable amount of Bitcoin, and you don't tell them. Then you are kidnapped with several people covering their faces, with the aim of getting your wallet address with the risk that if you don't give it you will be killed.
And another reason, you have given your wallet address to members you trust, such as family members or your wife and children.

And I want to know, what are you going to do.
Aren't you going to give the bad guy your wallet address, and you let him get killed. However, your Bitcoins remain safe because you have given your wallet address to someone you trust.
Or you will give it away because you still want to live, and you don't have any more Bitcoins.

And it was just a casual conversation with a friend of mine who both owns Bitcoin, and I was just wondering what other people's answers to this dreaded question made me want to create a thread.
Yes. you should give up your bitcoin and give him them because life is more worth than bitcoin anyway.
You should be careful from starting. don't let anyone even your close family member know much about your bitcoin. and if you have to do that then only let them know about a small amount.
telling them about your whole bitcoin holding doesn't make any sense.
334  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: February 01, 2024, 07:26:00 PM
I would say yes in so many cases, yes trading of futures is not for newbies, yes trading is not for for someone that have no knowledge of the craft, yes trading is not for an impatience person, yes trading is not for someone that have no knowledge of technical analysis, yes trading is not for those that think it's a get rich quick scheme, yes it not for everyone because their are some people that even though they are being taught trading since from childhood, they wouldn't still know anything about it, but just know that in trading, their are people that are born for it, they knows the craft like ABC, even though they get some losses at some point, they will still be profitable, because they know how to manage their risk, so you are right, trading is not for everyone.

Good points, however, apart from these things, the biggest thing is capital. Trading is mainly beneficial for those who have the capital that they can use for trading because even though there is no limitation when it comes to that, someone with a low capital will barely get anything out of trading and they will have to spend a lot of time to increase their capital to an extent that they will be able to get a reasonable amount from their trading.
All other things can be learned, a newbie can learn how to trade in the futures market if they give it time, someone can learn to do technical and fundamental analysis, and one might even learn to stay patient at certain times, but when it comes to capital, one will need to first accumulate money to get that ready and then get into trading.
335  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 01, 2024, 05:26:13 PM
Quitting smoking has two big benefits, and I've been doing it for over 3 months. And both can be said to be long-term investments, apart from long-term health, the money used to buy cigarettes can also be used to invest and I invested in Bitcoin.
In one month I can spend approximately $90 to buy cigarettes, and the price of the cigarettes I buy is around $2/pack for one pack a day and sometimes more than one pack.
And by quitting smoking, I was able to increase my regular monthly Bitcoin purchases from a portion of my monthly salary as well as $90 per month in cigarette money.
And I definitely felt a difference in my health and also saw a difference in my Bitcoin holdings after increasing my purchases, and I wish I could do it forever. Honestly, even though I don't do it, sometimes I am still tempted to want to smoke again when hanging out with friends and also at certain moments.
And the strong reason I stopped smoking was because my wife likes to nag me if I smoke at home because I have small children, and over time I decided to stop smoking. And previously I tried it several times but failed, and now I haven't smoked for more than 3 months and I hope I can do it forever because it has two extraordinary benefits. Health and can increase my investment.
I would say you are lucky if you could stop smoking not to mention the other benefits because health is the most crucial thing for something alive, be it humans, animals, plants, or anything else. The second benefit that you are talking about can be done by a lot of people even if they are not smokers because many people spend money on things that aren't necessary and they can easily skip them if they want to, it's all about patience and self-control.
Many people spend a lot of money on food and stuff that they eat unnecessarily from outside which they can eat at home without having to spend that much money. Others might spend money on things such as coffee, alcohol, bars, and a bunch of other stuff that they do which they can skip, even if they don't leave them forever, they can at least reduce the days
336  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: February 01, 2024, 05:05:11 PM
Even if aging is a crime we have to accept it because it is a law of nature. Age will never stand still, it will only increase. There are several stages of age in our life. People are usually separated into different age categories by considering several stages of age. In old age a man's behavior becomes almost childlike and at that time a man cannot return to youth even if he wanted to. There are many who had a good life in their youth but are helpless in their old age, that is why they are helpless in their old age because they did not think about their future in their youth. Those who think that people's age is not always fixed or people's financial condition is not always the same, so every person should think about this at a young age so that the financial condition does not get worse in the future. If we have the ability in our youth then we should invest in our future plans as soon as possible without wasting time. Those who know about investment definitely try to invest but those who don't have any idea about it are always deprived of this opportunity.
It's not always that people don't know about investments, it's just that they are careless when they are young, and instead of preparing for their future and old age, they keep spending money here and there irresponsibly which is the reason why they suffer when they grow old as they can't work and earn money and they didn't have any assets built that could earn them money while they could rest after they are retired.

People who work hard in their youth tend to have a good life after they retire because they can easily create wealth or at least assets that will earn them money when they grow older so that they don't need to struggle for pennies when they are old and aren't capable enough to work.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: February 01, 2024, 04:26:03 PM
Everyone has a different view on cryptocurrencies it's good to introduce what I know about bitcoin. But if someone is not interested to know about crypto currency then it is never possible to convince him about crypto currency. Interested individuals have a lot of needs they find helpful information by researching different sites through their own experience. You have to go ahead in your own research by knowing its main points.

It depends on your convincing abilities, however, there is no point in spending time with people trying to convince them about Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies if they don't have any interest in them. It is not our responsibility to educate every single person about Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies and make them realize that it's a good technology and innovation and that it can be beneficial for them if they adopt it on time and invest money when the price is low.
Those who have some interest will try and learn everything themselves without requiring someone else to spoonfeed them every single point and make them learn what Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are, how they work, how they are stored, etc.

339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: February 01, 2024, 02:51:34 PM
I think its best not to talk about how many Bitcoins you have because life is dangerous and people may have bad intentions. I would only share that information with very close friends. Other than that, I think it's hard to explain bitcoin to people. I generally suggest to use some kind of visual method by setting up real wallet, sending real coins, using an exchange etc. People without financial background may have hard time understanding basics of Bitcoin. I would rather avoid them.

I wouldn't even share such sensitive information with close friends. Why would you need to discuss your financial holdings with a friend no matter how close they are to you? You can't trust anyone in today's world, and even if it's not about trust, you don't need to do it in the first place. The only people who need to know about what you have and hold are your life partner or your children so that they can have and use what you have so that they don't go in vain when you are no more.
When it comes to teaching or educating people about Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, I would simply tell them to watch some video or direct them to somewhere where they can read everything about it, and tell them to ask me if they find confusion in anything they watch or read. I would waste my time only on people that are living with me.
340  Other / Off-topic / Re: The use of mobile phones and a computer for forum discussions. on: February 01, 2024, 02:42:29 PM
I noticed that while some use their mobile phones for publishing in the forum others use their desktop. Many started with mobile phones and when the hustle began to pay they switched to desktop. I must say. If a debate is thrown to the forum some will stand for phone while others will chose to work with their desktop. The both has prons and cons in their various ways but then let's highlight some of the good and bad.
The pro and cons of mobile phone and computer.
1. Portability: bitcointalk can be done anywhere any time with the mobile phone which will be difficult to do that with a computer.
2. Affordability: I believe it is cheaper to get a mobile phone than a computer
3. Power usage: most time the desktop is being used while plugged to the wall socket while the phone has an extended battery life.
4. Data subscription: it is easy to subscribe the phone than the laptop since the laptop will be consuming more data.
5.Typing ease. It is easy to type comfortably with the laptop than the phone( 2 fingers compared  against 10 fingers)
6.Comfort : it is comfortable to work with the laptop as any posture can be suitable depending on your platform whereas sitting in our position for a longer period causes discomfort.

From my own view, I still chose to work with my mobile phone than the computer. What do you think?

First things first, this thread doesn't belong to this section because as far as I understand, it is not discussing Bitcoin but it's about the forum and this section is only for topics related to discussions about Bitcoin.

That being said, I would say that using a desktop or a laptop is probably the most preferred way of using the forum mostly because the forum website isn't compatible with mobile phones and you will be surfing using the desktop layout even on your mobile phone which isn't convenient. So when you are surfing, you will need to zoom in and zoom out every single time for any operation, either reading, writing, or doing anything else.

So, for me, I've always used the forum on my laptop because it's way more convenient. I don't need portability because I'm not always active in the forum, and when I have time, I just sit with my laptop and surf the forum.
