321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] In 16 hours, the fun could be over :-) on: April 30, 2013, 06:48:41 PM
The smartest miners don't sell all their coins immediately just to make a fast buck.

Very true. Especially with coins like this, big holders wouldn't try to crash the market, since there isn't enough of a market yet since it's still young. They would sell a little at a time if they needed to get rid of some. Besides, holding them helps the price since there's less supply

if the difficulty increases, hopefully a lot of people will stop mining so i can put my GPU to good use :p

Nice to know there are newcomers still wanting to jump into FTC after going through turbulence Smiley

Yes
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin opening trade day 1FC = 0.05 LTC and going up on: April 30, 2013, 12:05:49 AM
I really applaud the Feathercoin supporters for being so patient and accepting with someone so arrogantly against it Smiley
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Feathercoins will be a succes on: April 29, 2013, 07:14:02 PM
soon it will be a lot less profitable mining FTC as everyone jumps into this band wagon, which will only make it worse and maybe quietly kill the coin. Too fast a growth rate like this (from 27 this morning to 40 now a few hours ago) doesn't look good.

It's less than double, it's not too big of a deal. We had jumps that were 2x and even 4x back when it first started. It'll survive a small jump from 27 to 40. Litecoin had gone through a bigger jump at higher difficulty and it's alive. Or take a look at TRC and it's crazy life, yet it's still here.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Feathercoins will be a succes on: April 28, 2013, 10:05:53 PM
Of course we dont need that many, but what is stopping people from competing and improving. Look at how many credit cards there are.

Feathercoin improves nothing. Oh, 4 times more coins.  LOL, there is zero reason why feathercoin is valued as much as it is in the first week of its' debut.

Feathercoin is for people/noobs who missed the BTC boat and the LTC boat and who can't mine even LTC efficiently with their rigs anymore. This is why FC even exists, oh also for get rich quick scammers.  It is a parasite.

I won't do business with anyone trying to hype FC. I put them on ignore immediately.

Oh, ignore op.

Cheers.

Actually there have to be a lot of people that got very easy to their LTC, otherwise they wouldn't trade them for FTC @ this rate.

You know what they say... Idiots and their money... At least it's not mine... Ignore.

Hey, while you're at it, ignore me too! lmao Happy Isolation

That's a good point, can't believe it didn't cross my mind that there would be a front end converter. Thanks for pointing that out Smiley
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many Feathercoins were mined the first day (24 hours) 1million or 2million? on: April 27, 2013, 03:44:53 AM
Yea besides now the difficulty has been readjusting to catch up. Not to mention remembers this is 4x more than Litecoins, 16x more the Bitcions. Even 1mil isn't as much as you think
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who on earth valued feather coin so high on: April 26, 2013, 04:29:07 PM
What's sad is people STILL keep thinking a small amount of people have a majority of the coins. I was lucky to get on in the first day, but from what I could tell there were a lot of people who started within the first 4 hours and the mining was very spread out.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Exchange Bounty Claimed on: April 26, 2013, 11:56:27 AM
FC won't be tradeable for another day anyways :p
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Exchange Bounty Claimed on: April 26, 2013, 11:37:23 AM
I actually messaged him two days ago asking him to add FC... I wonder if he read my email Cheesy
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: April 25, 2013, 12:21:28 AM
I think it would look cool if you were to get rid of the actual "F" and the bottom fin on the left side, and mirror the top two fins I circled where the "F" was. That way it's like two "F's" facing opposite directions but at the same time making for a nice logo.

332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: April 24, 2013, 04:15:01 PM

I really like your concept, few changes like more symmetric "F" maybe more vivid, catchy colours and would be great.

If a letter was to be used instead of a feather, I personally like this "F" the best :p but I still want the feather since it makes the logo unique. There should be a poll for feather or letter as the logo.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: April 24, 2013, 02:03:44 PM
I like how this looks

But I also would really like to stay with the feather as opposed to a letter Smiley

334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] What current alt crypto-currency do YOU believe in? on: April 23, 2013, 11:02:58 PM
The big advantage FC has is that (I'd bet) a heck of a lot of people have them.  For example, I mined for 8 hours on my laptop and have 120 of them.  That's the kind of broader appeal that will get some actual use.  I have very little interest in sending my $$ to Japan so I can buy some bitcoins so that I can buy stuff here.  That's probably going to be just for speculators hoping the value will go up (and apparently being successful!).

It's unfortunate that FC was setup so the people to hop into it the first couple of days could make so many.  I would think a "proper" altcoin launch would include a broadbased announcement, a reasonable difficulty to start with, and some amount of infrastructure (pools, etc) so that it doesn't appear to be just for the benefit of a handful who are premining or in at the first hour with some serious hardware.

It could go both ways. Some people say that an advantage of no announcement beforehand would be so that those would huge server farms don't have a chance to setup their machines before the release. Imagine if we had 400 Mh/s on the first day instead of say 20 Mh/s.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] What current alt crypto-currency do YOU believe in? on: April 23, 2013, 10:54:26 PM
Yes. The thing is, if a coin is to be globally accepted, all the "benefits" of one coin over another is going to be overlooked. Why? Because the average person doesn't care about what's under the hood just the fact they're trying to get money from one place to another. So what matters is getting people to use it, not that the coin has differences that set it apart unless it's a significant variance.

He should follow his quote

Minds are like parachutes they work best when open

But anyways, good luck with the meetups! Doubt I'd really be able to partake in any of it at the moment, but if there's an opportunity and there's one near me I may give some of my time Smiley

338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FC] The FeatherCoin Information Thread on: April 22, 2013, 01:38:16 AM
Handed out a few thousand coins today to friends and new people interested in FC through BTC-E trollbox.   I have a small blog for LTC called http://litecoinpayitforward.com.  I plan to do something very similar for FC tonight. Also helping my non technical friends set up wallets.

I work as an IT trainer (mainly Cisco), looking to accept FC services at the end of the week.  It's not a lot, but trying to do my part.

Awesome! Thanks for helping it grow!
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FC Feathercoin Bounties, setting up feathercoin.cc, and how you can help on: April 20, 2013, 07:31:35 PM
Sent that 3k I told you I'd donate Smiley

Also, since there are so many people selling game related things for FC, it'd be cool if someone could make a website similar to www.playerauctions.com that uses FC

Thanks and a good suggestion! I think we'll put the 3000 towards an FC faucet website?

Sure, whatever you can use it for haha
