All the loans I gave out were to verified people with paypal ebay photo id etc.

Didn't stop defaults. Just so you know...

Jeff has covered the important things to consider.

You might give this one a look-see:  https://mykolab.com/

I have been unable to get anywhere with these SEPA Withdrawals, but I heard from someone today that GBP is working just fine,  can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks

Prove the point? Gold is physical. It has chemical properties.

Seriously? We just start taking things out of context, like that? Like silver is different from gold because they are different elements in the periodic table? Right?

Continuing your train of thought we now have to conclude that silver is more like .com domains than it is like gold because silver and gold have different amount protons and electrons, correct?

End of discussion then. I thought we are talking about money, turns out we are talking about geology or chemistry or some other shit. If so, I then obviously have been wrong and have nothing more to say.

Well if we are really going down this road - what about atomic printers that can print any material conceivable - yea you can't pick them up just yet, but atomic printers or some other development could hurt the prices of precious metals.

Just the same way a new and better bitcoin protocol could come along if the developers are too slow/scared to improve it.
325  Economy / Service Discussion / Secure Cloud Hosting on: September 10, 2013, 10:28:10 AM
I couldn't find a good thread for this but I would really appreciate some help.

I want to move our site to some secure hosting. Not USA or UK based, or anywhere that is can be seized. I am thinking about security not to far from TPB but that is probably excessive.

I just need some suggestions to get me started.

Thanks
326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone think BTCJam.com is a scam? on: September 10, 2013, 06:58:28 AM
I've tried posting this listing ( https://btcjam.com/listings/6745 ) on redit.  Kinda feel hurt because of how many people flamed me.

Is the idea a bad one?

Has anyone else tried BTCJam.com?

I wouldn't be able to prove that it's NOT a scam. I lost a lot of coins when I thought I was being cautious. Unfortunatey I have know way to prove that any of the bogus listings are/are not site admin's

I wouldn't put anything in that I wasn't willing to lose.
327  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin parity: what is a bitcoin worth? on: August 27, 2013, 02:05:51 PM
An ounce of gold.

Someday we will mine gold in space from asteroids or other planets, bitcoins are limited to 21M.

So for me an ouce of gold = 0.01 BTC.

Forget mining from space,  they will have an "atomic printer" and make anything they want. Whoever they are.

Making bitcoins could be tricky though Smiley

329  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 19, 2013, 06:44:29 AM
After a month of waiting I cancelled the transfer.

Who needs fiat money anyway. Fiat and it's institutions are so inconvenient. If I want to send money, it should be instant and effortless.

I would love to see some of my cash come back, doesn't look likely.

332  Economy / Marketplace / Debts for Sale - Everything must go! on: June 27, 2013, 01:59:03 PM
Hi All,

I have 10 BTC+ in debts that I have now put on the market for a total of about 0.5 BTC  Smiley

https://btcjam.com/notes

Full Disclosure -I highly doubt you will ever see your BTC if you buy these, infact if you get a single penny of these back, I will have a haircut, make some kind of salad with it and eat it with a glass of cheap Rioja.

Cheers!

I know as a merchant I can do this the other way around.....

Someone must be able to point me to the right place....

Ah... this doesnt exist... the potential weakness of BTC is its non acceptance...

I can pay for my antique stuffed cat when visiting texas using my british pound bank card and it all magically gets converted for a shockingly bad rate and a nasty fee....

But when I want to buy that secret filth I found on the internet in BTC... I have to hunt down the BTC in advance...

This is no good for my granny.

A sad day for me.

A lesson on BS mainly. I did ask questions, seemed legit to me....

I regret putting my trust in people I hadnt met in person...
336  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: May 20, 2013, 04:11:31 PM
Some things simply need regulation.

Most of the "loans" I gave on btcjam were simply never repaid and the only inconvenience for the user is that they have a username on a website which has a bad record. Obviously when they open a new account on btcjam with a new username they can repeat the process.

If I has leant this money on a fiat lending site, zopa.com etc they would seek to recoop the defaulted loan - the risks of borrowing money.

Will I ever see my BTC returned? It is a considerable amount of money.

338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Instant Payment Gateways - Fiat - BTC on: May 20, 2013, 12:02:39 PM
Hi,

Perhaps I am missing something here so forgive me if this is obvious -

I want to accept payments on my site where everything will be priced in BTC.

I am aware that most of my customers don't even know what a bitcoin is (stay with me)

I cant find anything on any of the payment gateway sites that will enable my customers to either

Pay directly in bitcoin

AND/OR

Pay with paypal, creditcard, anything - and they will convert it directly from nasty fiat into bitcoin and send it to me (for a hefty fee no doubt)

Does this exist, did I miss it somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

"Legal" Crime.

It's so very very wrong.

I dont care if my bitcoins go to $1 each. From now on, I won't be storing my wages in banks.

340  Economy / Speculation / Re: 115 today? on: April 02, 2013, 09:19:11 AM
I hope not... I've waiting 5 days for my money to arrive in my account.

I also hope it does.

I can't win. No wait, I can ONLY win.

 Huh
