Damn, was expecting a lot more than a 6th round pick (potentially a 4th rounder) in return for Justin Fields. I’m am glad however that they have officially moved on from Fields, paving the way for Caleb Williams to come in and be the man from point one. Just a bit shocking the Patriots getting a 6th round pick for Mac Jones, but Fields couldn’t bring in something higher, I guess I just don’t it.

Hope y’all are having a good weekend!

I think you're confusing the concept of savings and investing.  Also, the title of your post should read "Saving doesn't make wealth", not "Saving don't make wealth".

Savings CAN make wealth, and just because one is "saving" and "not" investing in your view, they still might be investing.  Saving money at a bank account that provides a rate of return, is still technically investing.  No different that buying a US bond or note.

"I want to know your opinion on the success of BTC holders:
Is the profit of BTC holders just from luck?- for some yes, for others no so much.  A lot of people have no clue what bitcoin is and have made money from buying lower than they eventually sold from (or have).  That I would say is luck.
Are you a BTC holder? - I don't think anyone should ask this or answer it.  What makes you keep believing and holding BTC? -I think bitcoin as a decentralized currency is a great improvement over traditional fiat monies.
When will you hold BTC until?"- Information I don't think anyone should share with each other.

325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 15, 2024, 08:06:08 PM
I almost fell out of my seat when I heard this fight being announced, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.  Jake Paul doesn't fight legitimate fighters, and I'm of course not saying Tyson isn't legitimate, as he's on of the greatest boxers of all time, but he's what, 60 years old and Paul is like 30..just another money grab in my opinion. I honestly can't take any of these fights seriously.  I think they are rigged.

Mike Tyson is 57 years old. I watched the videos that are being shared on social media to show that he is still very fast and his punches very strong. However, these videos do not show everything. Show me a video of Mike Tyson doing his quick moves and strong punches for 3 minutes for 1 round and do 10 rounds of this. I reckon in the last minute of the video he will have his tongue hanging to his knees and breathing very much similar to a very tired dog.

In any case, if this is on Netflix, this is not a payperview? Will this be available for all Netflix subscribers? I reckon all sports organizations like the NFL should also do this.

Yeah exactly, Iron Mike looks incredible for shorts bursts of time in these videos, and he is one of the greatest of all time, but I just don't know how he's going to hold up for several minutes a round.  I would only watch this fight if I was getting it for free, and though technically I'd be paying for it since I pay a monthly fee to Netflix, it's included in my subscription so I'll be watching it.  But, mostly just in hope that I see him knock out Pall within a couple minutes.

When I was just hanging out last night, somewhere around 10pm, the last thing I expected to come across my phone was a Fantasy Pros new update saying that the Chicago Bears have traded for Keenan Allen.  While Keenan is getting in his latter years (NFL player wise) he's one hell of a player, and getting him for only a 4th round pick is great value.

I am all for bringing in Caleb Williams, but either way, bringing him in or keeping Fields, the Bears are loaded at receiving options, with WR1-DJ Moore, WR2-Keenan Allen, TE1-Cole Kmet, TE2-Gerald Everett ..loving it.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 15, 2024, 07:54:08 PM
How about the games between the Bulls and the Pacers, DeRozan put up a massive 45 points in a win in OT against the home team Pacers. I thought that the Pacers are going to win without going into OT, but DeRozan mid range shot proved to be still his best weapon, him and Kawhi I would consider has put that as their main weapons, and no one can stop it with their fade away shots.

However, I'm not a hater of Bulls, but there are games that they are inconsistent that's why I stay away from betting on them. But congrats to those who have ride on them on this big win against the Pacers.

I haven't watched my Chicago Bulls real closely all year, but last night I was tuned in from begging to the end, and it sure disappoint, which is normally what happens with my Chicago bulls.

DeRozan is one heck of a player, and honestly I'm wondering why he's still on the Bulls.  I of course love him and having a great player like him on the team, but they suck, and aren't anywhere near competing for anything meaningful, I just don't understand why he wasn't traded.  Anyways, great OT shot, what a player.

DeRozan is a great player, but he's in the wrong era.  His strength seems to be midrange game and he's not the most skilled player at getting open shots.  I once saw a stat that showed DeRozan takes a higher percentage of shots with close coverage from the defender than any other player in the NBA.  That shows me he either needs teammates that can spread the floor and get him open, he takes bad shots, or he struggles getting open either by moving away from the ball or using dribbling skills to get to his spot.  In the 80s he would have dominated probably.  Today, his game just isn't fit for what works in the NBA.  That's why I think Toronto had to get rid of him to win a championship.  He's a hell of a player, but his style isn't efficient enough at getting points to help his team win.

Yeah the glaring issue with Demar's game is unquestionably the lack of a three point shot.  He really doesn't take many opportunities as he's just not that accurate from that range.  Like you said, that mid-range shot of his is about as good as anyone's in the league, which is impressive, but hurts his overall game.  He's still a valuable asset to have, but he's needs to be part of a team where he's not that number one or probably two.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have known Bitcoin and other currencies since 2014 on: March 14, 2024, 06:59:14 PM
I have known Bitcoin and other currencies since 2014, but I did not move a finger. I did not benefit from anything. I mean, I did not invest anything now. I am serious. I liked this forum a lot. A long time ago, I decided to start investing, even if it was a small amount, in some other currencies. Perhaps it would go up significantly and make profits. Perhaps I would. It is late, but the opportunity is always there. I know that many people suffer from what I suffer from. Many people now talk about Bitcoin, but I preceded them in knowing it by ten years. I want your advice for me. I have high hopes for digital currencies. What do you think?

It's never too late is something, or a sentiment I often share with my clients.  It's never too late to get in to something, or to start saving towards something.  It took me a year or perhaps a bit more before I ever bought bitcoin.  I discovered it around 2013-14 and ended up studying it for a whole year plus before I bought in.  I think we are just getting started so there's noting wrong with perhaps DCA'ing (dollar cost averaging) in, if your budget allows for it.
329  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 14, 2024, 06:55:13 PM
Not necessarily at all.  Everyone's situation is going to be different.  You might consider yourself a bit of a fool if you had thought about investing in bitcoin for a long time, and never pulled the trigger until now, when it's at it's all time high, and you dump all the money you had ever planned to "invest" in to bitcoin in at once, that MIGHT be a bit foolish, but it's hard to say, we will see where bitcoin goes from here.  For others, it might simply be part of their Dollar Cost Averaging strategy which wouldn't be foolish at all.

There are going to be a lot of folks coming to bitcoin much later than today, especially since only around 1% of the world's population own any bitcoin.. so the pump of bitcoin may well be a bit misleading in terms of suggesting either the maturity of bitcoin's adoption or its adoption rate - even though there are a lot of new entrants coming to bitcoin in recent times... namely the last 2 months or so... and surely some of them are hoarding and they will likely be making their coins available to later entrants.. and so we cannot be sure if prices will be higher or lower at various points in time, even though we should have decently good senses that the trend is ongoingly up.

Yeah I am in the same camp as yourself where I think there's a "decently good" (if not quite good) chance that the trend is going to continue upwards.  I have heard from a lot of clients lately that they are just entering the "bitcoin space", or crypto space, and they are in large part interested in bitcoin ETFs.  IRA's or brokerage accounts connected to retirement plans certainly make it easier for people to "own" bitcoin, and I think that trend will only continue on as we are just getting started.

You wake up from a one-day coma and decide to check on your favorite franchise, ah shit, you can't recognize your team's roster anymore. Lol   It's crazy how many moves have taken place in the last 24 hours. It might be the first day since the Super Bowl that i've actually missed football.

Some quick/early thoughts on a few of the signings:

Saquon Barkley to the Eagles. For some reason, i don't like it, i think it is more or less a lateral move. Swift can do almost everything Saquon does but for less money, and Barkley has a history of injuries. Eagles had more pressing issues to address than adding a new RB. For example, their defense, terrible secondary play, and some of the worst tackling i've ever seen...why not fix that?

Christian Wilkins, the Dolphins DT to the Raiders. He and Maxx Crosby on the same dline look scary. I like how the Raiders rallied around their interim head coach to turn things around late in the season. Losing Josh Jacobs is huge, but i suppose you can't have everything.

The Vikings' QB room looks bleak now that Cousins has moved to Atlanta. Darnold, Mullens, Dobbs, and Hall, i mean who do you start? Not ideal for J. Jefferson dynasty managers.

edit;

HELL YEAH!!!

The King is on the move. Sources say the #Ravens are expected to land #Titans star RB Derrick Henry. After attempting to trade for him a few times, Baltimore signs him now. 👑
Henry gets a 2-year, $16M deal worth up to $20M with $9M guaranteed.

Not only is that bad for fantasy managers but Jefferson proclaimed that he loved playing with cousins.  Did ypu just piss him off enough to split town when he becomes a free agent.  Minnesota better figure out theor immediate plan forward or they might slide into a complete new rebuilding.  If they are I'd trade jettas for some crazy draft capital right now.  Trading to a fringe contender could net some good draft capital.

I'm starting to wonder at this point whether it makes any sense keeping what many would argue is the best wide receiver in the league (I don't believe this, but he certainly makes my top 3-5).  He's too good to rot away behind some half-ass QB, and as of right now, that's exactly what the Vikings have, half ass QBs.  I do wonder if they have any interest in Justin Fields.  I guess I'm trying to squeeze Fields in somewhere, I expected his market to be much more robust.  I think this lack of market says a lot for Fields and why moving on from him makes sense.  He's just not that good.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 14, 2024, 06:47:04 PM
Man, as a financial advisor this is certainly not something that I would ever recommend someone do with their finances, but it's definitely makes for a fun/entertaining bit for everyone else lol.

The odds are even less than 50/50 which makes it all the more dangerous/scary.  I love roulette personally, it's an easy game to play, but I worry about it being provably fair playing online.  I play here and there, just for fun..just not sure how many online casinos I trust.

333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a quick rich and get poorer investment. on: March 13, 2024, 06:38:15 PM
Technically bitcoin is not an investment at all.  I think it's important that people remember or understand that first and foremost bitcoin is a currency.  It's a digital currency, which is unlike any other we've seen before, and it's become an investment just like trading of fiat currencies, which is common place, but I think it's an important reminder that first and foremost it's a means of transferring money in a better way.

There are a lot of things that aren't investments in this world but are used as one. Do you think lands are for investments? No, they are to be bought and used for personal housing and stuff, but people use them as investments because they are volatile. So, anything in the world that can lose and gain value over time is considered an investment opportunity, so Bitcoin is no exception in this.
Gold is a precious metal that is used to make jewelry and other stuff, but it is used as an investment by a lot of people, they buy and store gold so that they can sell it when it becomes more valuable and it does. So it's not about what something is created for, it's about whether it has a stable value or its value keeps changing, and if it keeps changing, it eventually becomes an investment asset as along with its other use cases.

Wow really, I had no idea !

336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: March 13, 2024, 06:04:34 PM
I think these are the two biggest gambling mistakes gamblers make, and easily the two biggest mistakes I tend to make when gambling.  When you get hot , you feel hot and like nothing can stop you and this is where getting greedy can really backfire.  Or in the same token, feeling too over confident.  I have been to many in-person casinos and rode a bit of a hot streak only to lose everything because of over confidence.  Something that's easier to avoid when sober lol.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 13, 2024, 06:02:44 PM
Wow, what a week of free agent signings it's been so far!  I honestly can't remember a week with this much action going on in the "legal tampering" period like there has been this year.  The one thing I'm certainly surprised about as well as not very happy about is the fact that Justin Fields is still a Chicago Bear.  There's a number of factors that go in to play with this, but I was really hoping the Bears could at least snag a 2nd rounder for him.  There's still some time, but that window is shrinking by the day.

They are not all created equal by a long shot, so careful. Air-tites.com tried and true. Even the New Zealand Post let me down big time recently w their capsule, Lord of the Rings coin I’ve had in climate control for at least a decade toned on me I just recently noticed. Have had worse however.

Loyce (tho he’s AI so not sure they count)
sheesshh!!! Are you seerriousss right now?  Roll Eyes umm, can I get more specificities on that please?
This started long before you joined, see my reputation thread. But, despite the seemingly overwhelming evidence, KYC verified I'm human.

Technically Loyce is an “AGI”. Everything is AI this , AI that and as I’ve said here before and will debate this to my grave, AI does not exist..yet. It’s advanced programming, and amazing achievements have been made, but true AI or AGI are self learning, autonomous, doesn’t have built in parameters limiting its true upside and full honesty- https://www.newyorker.com/science/annals-of-artificial-intelligence/there-is-no-ai

However Loyce is likely the very first AGI. Keep denying all ya want man, not foolin this guy lol. Cheers bud
