321  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about bitcoin interest in the near future? on: July 25, 2017, 08:21:56 PM
In the future, I see a lot of penetration of bitcoin, regulation coming in massively as well, and increase in price. This is also expected to come with its own challenges among which is what is being faced now at this time which I am sure another issue will still surface after this time. Another issue of concern is regulations which might be harsh in some areas and mild in other places above all, I see bitcoin overcoming all these challenges.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC Gambling? on: July 25, 2017, 07:51:40 PM
Low minimum BTC Gambling sites?

They all start the minimum bet size at .001 btc or .0001 btc. Im looking for a gambling website that has the lowest bet size at .0000001 or less. Low btc minimum betting sites around?. Anyone know any?

Or low minimum (.0000001 btc or less) btc Forex that accepts USA?

So far looks like primedice the only one.

Any info? Thanks!!

It's hard for online casinos to keep up with the volatility of bitcoin in order to keep their gambling site's minimum and maximums bets stable....a min bet of 25 cents, about ~year ago, is now $2.50 today, and it goes up and down on a daily basis....keeping the limits within the ranges of the site's bankroll is serious business to a gambling operation....So, we have to be patient with them.

I don't think this should be a problem because the site is denominated in btc and not in fiat which means it does not concern them what the value of bitcon is saying on exchange sites. And if I wager 0.01btc for 1.1 then I get 0.011btc its as simple as that irrespective of the price as at that time and the same goes to those who bankroll the site.
323  Other / Meta / Re: Are we under a DDOS? on: July 25, 2017, 06:59:13 PM
Seems like the forum is getting laggy and throwing up error pages here and there, I say this is bitcoin related as its an attack on the site if so, or less likely the site is just getting more traffic than usual.

I don't think we are under any attack because since morning every attempt I have made to access the forum has been successful without any issues whatsoever and I agree that its likely due to the impending issue about to happen to bitcon and I trust here to the reliable source for information in which I have been keeping abreast of as well.
324  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 25, 2017, 04:55:39 PM
Popular Russian bitcoin exchange BTC-e has been down for almost 3 hours with the official twitter saying they are having a "server maintenance".

The weird thing is, they have never had maintenance works without prior announcements in the past. And coincidently, bitcoin prices have been crashing since btc-e went down.

Are they hacked and just denying the attack by calling it a maintenance job (like most hacked websites choose to do) ??

Hopefully, btc-e comes back online soon.

Whether hacked or not I think anyone who value his coins so much no matter how little should not leave any on at exchange or online wallet because things like this. I faced the same issue with one of the online wallets yesterday although it was for few minutes which left without being noticed, immediately  I heeded to the advice that has been circulating over the forum for a while in which I would suggest everyone to do.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coindash SCAM - Open discussion on: July 25, 2017, 03:59:12 PM
My contribution is that whether scam or insider work. @coindash, you owe people who trusted your site to invest a duty of care to always be on top of your game in terms of security and you should be held responsible. You are now coming around to point accusing fingers, if you had done your job, you wouldn't have ben having this discussion.  Even though I didn't invest but whatever affects the crypto community affects me not to talk of those who lost their money in this . I am even surprised that such an amount went missing and the community is still calm. One thing is sure, YOU HAVE BETRAYED THE TRUST OF INVIDUALS WHO TRUSTED YOU TO KEEP THEIR MONEY WITH YOU and that is not something that is cheap these days.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Paid your taxes ? on: July 25, 2017, 03:18:54 PM
I voted No because over here, government is yet to take a position on how to handle the issue of crypto currency but I am sure that in few years a position will be taken. I am not going to evade tax because I know that is illegal but for now, I and others in this part of the world will have to keep enjoying and if at all they want to do a back-duty investigation, its most likely to be a civil case rather than a criminal one.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have a great business which works - do you think offering an ICO will be good? on: July 25, 2017, 02:19:06 PM

I am currently a newbie in the crypto world.  However, I run several successful companies.  One of which is a company which grows completely on referrals.  If you refer someone to the company, you receive a fixed cash bonus every month they are subscribed.  It's only ONE LEVEL down.  So you only earn from your direct referrals.  Rather than simply giving cash, we were thinking about offering a 'token'.  The value of which can change depending on the growth of the company.

It offers our customers a chance to actually get more value out of their cash and also can be lucrative for investors on an ICO.

Does this make sense?

Any thoughts?

Thank you in advance :-) Cheesy

Your business is growing, you are a newbie in the crypto world but the first thing you want to contribute is raising ICOs, that's very good to those who are ICOs freak. For me, I think having a sound plan is a way to go with which in this case, I don't see anything new in your project since it has been running successfully already but I tell you ICOs is not cheap no matter how simple others might try to paint it and also be ready for tasking investigative done on you and be ready if you are cut for this.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash: A fork is coming after all on: July 25, 2017, 11:54:11 AM
This is something I am even failing to understand regarding bitcoin and even I see this as a disadvantage to Fiat because in the case of Fiat when the Central Banks gives an order every other banks follow without any confusion but in this case, while some are saying there would be fork not even one but more than one, others are saying there is no need for fork and one does not even know which one to go with. I made a transfer yesterday and realise the transaction fee has reduced drastically while the waiting time has also reduced.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kazakhstan will become the second country regulating the cryptocurrency on: July 25, 2017, 10:01:19 AM
The Astana International Financial Center has announced the creation of a working group together with Deloitte, Waves, Juscutum, and Kesarev Consulting to develop an ecosystem to enable blockchain solutions for the CIS region.

Independent legal and regulatory framework based on the English common law principles, and the Fintech regulatory Sandbox, a special regime for innovative projects within the Astana International Financial Center, are unique advantages for attracting capital to different projects from around the world.

http://wavescommunity.com/waves-helps-kazakhstan-to-become-the-second-country-regulating-the-cryptocurrency/

This is exactly what will happen after all whether we like it or not and I am happy that the country is starting its own race early sooner or later other countries will join in and its because they have come to realise that there is no stopping of the crypto market and its increasing on a daily basis. The way out is to shut the internet which is something I don't think any government can afford to do at this time. For countries not ready, citizens should continue enjoying tax free income.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are being used. on: July 25, 2017, 09:26:59 AM
So many of these ICOs are really outsiders who have no interest in crypto but just want to grab from the pool of the crypto community.

I look at many of them and they are just fucking bankers who have hired a crypto developer to make a grab for the crypto community's money. Here is a perfect example, why do they need the blockchain to start a hedge fund?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2003741.0

I'm not against all ICO's but most are just using us as a crypto community. Until we refuse to be ass raped by these banking interests we are destined to lose money to them. We need to invest in projects that are pure crypto and not get all wet pants about any project involving some big money interests. We all lose then, they win.

BTW play spot the crypto nerd among the bankers selling out in the pictures of the team!

I also understand your position and where you are currently coming from and quite a number of people have expressed the same point of view in the past. However, I personally don't bother about whether the person behind the scene is a banker or a pharmacist or a lawyer what matters is that, do they have a working model that would benefit me as an investor? If that is settled and I can evaluate the motive behind such, I think I don't have any issues in which the onus is on everyone putting his/her money into ICOs to sure of the due diligence.
331  Economy / Economics / Re: Whats next after BIP 91? on: July 25, 2017, 09:00:50 AM
After reading about BIP 91 on coindesk, this obviously isn't a permanent solution for the possible fork in BTC. Does anyone know what will come after in the coming months?

I will say no one is sire of what will happen next even the fork is not certain to happen although all body language are suggesting to that direction not to talk of what will happen after. I am sure that whatever will happen, its not going to be just one person that will be affected and the administrators of the forum as well as those who are in the know on how things work will guide everyone else accordingly.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My guess is DIMCOIN is an actual scam. on: July 24, 2017, 12:45:57 PM
Its so unfortunate that after I have read several comments of those shouting scam, no one could provide a tangible reason why its a scam. Someone claimed because he has not heard about it and his friends then its scam, my question is who gave him and his friends the authority to be in the know in determining whether a project is a scam or not. Not ICOs will be successful, not all of them will scam, some might though, but for someone investing, the onus is on you to do your own due diligence before parting away with your money.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we do Bitcoin transactions at this moment? on: July 23, 2017, 04:14:24 PM
I have a small amount on Poloniex that I wanted to withdraw before 1st of August so that it is under my control in case of any chain split and also so that I can include it in the next Byteball airdrop.
Now I'm wondering if it's safer to leave it on the exchange?
It would be better if you withdraw your bitcoins from the exchange and store it in your desk top wallet. Its because if a hard fork happens and bitcoin splits into two chains, almost all exchanges would suspend the deposits and withdrawals for atleast 24 to 48 hours. Also, even if you keep your bitcoins in your wallet, don't do any transactions during august 1.If you follow these steps, then your bitcoins would be safe.

From what he posted he has made it clear he wanted to move his coins to somewhere safe but what he is asking in which I am sure a lot of people are facing the same thing including myself is "Is it safe to move now?" which is really the bone of contention because what I read on the forum was to avoid any transaction 12hours before August 1 and I am planning to move my  few coins but now, its another thing entirely.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ethereum $110 million hack; Will we see another rollback and ETC.2? on: July 20, 2017, 06:43:22 AM
another huge loss for ethereum owners when the parity wallet multisignature was hacked and the hacker stole 153,037 ETH which is nearly $32 million worth of ETH.
https://ethplorer.io/address/0xb3764761e297d6f121e79c32a65829cd1ddb4d32

also another group of hackers took the opportunity to drain all the similar multisig addresses with the same vulnerability in ETH and similar tokens.
so far they have hacked the total amount of 379,999 ETH which is nearly $80 million worth of ETH
https://ethplorer.io/address/0x1dba1131000664b884a1ba238464159892252d3a

Do you think we will see another roll-back like the DAO $50 million hack and will it leave us with ETH 2.0 fork? Grin

Its so unfortunate that multi sig addresses in which we all believe should have some adequate level of security could even be vulnerable as this, and  not even this alone at mattered but the opportunity it gives to other hackers to even get at the tech in other to get more funds even if its little. But in the real sense its going to be a big setback for proponents of ETH.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in ICO, still promising? on: July 20, 2017, 06:10:07 AM
I am a person that gains profit from investing in ICOs but now I'm having second thoughts. I know some ICOs are potential scam so I am really picky to where I put my money.
Anyway, considering with what happened to Ethereum price and with the nearing Aigist 1, do you guys think that it will still be profitable to invest on ICOs mostly on ERC20 tokens and those accepting btc payments?

Even as at the time where you made those money in ICOs there will still be some others that turned into scam along those periods but what master most is the discerning attitude to know whether one will turn scam or not because some scam could be well planned and no one will have an idea of whether it will turn into scam, the team will be superb but that's it. So, ICOs is still profitable only if one goes for the right one.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: July 20, 2017, 04:46:57 AM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.

Over here the same thing although we use another educational system as our college could be interpreted to be high school but either way, its not even been taught at all even the lecturers are old whose exposure to recent technological advancement is not as solid to command bitcoin as a course or topic to study. At the higher institution level, I doubt if there is any because as at the time I graduate, I didn't even hear anything relating to that at all.
337  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What the hell is going on with C-Cex??? on: July 19, 2017, 08:39:26 PM
Are you 100% sure you landed on the original c-ex website? There is a strong possibility that it was a phishing email and you landed on a phishing page and put the username/password. In this case, if you don't have any c-ex account then nothing to worry much, but if you had one, you might have passed your credentials Roll Eyes
Exactly this is something that would have happened because c-cex I know is one of the reputable sites I know and I don't expect them to be that careless in sending mail to a nonexistent user. I have received mail like this but most from purported bank mail that my ATM has been deactivated and I need to activate it but checking the mail will show its just scammers which could equally be the case of OP here.
338  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Coinmama a scam? on: July 19, 2017, 07:02:15 PM
Hello folks, what are your thoughts on Coinmama?. Is it a reliable site to buy btc in large amounts (15k + worth btc). I just dont wanna end up ripped off?. I read comments on coinmama for july and they are trashing it like crazy...so i dunno what to think or do...thank you

I don't understand  why you are asking about a site that is probably not have been heard before when there are several sites already on the crypto space and they have even make name for themselves and won't even bother to scam with $15000 since they have carried out several trades running into millions of dollars.
339  Economy / Speculation / Re: John McAfee: Bitcoin will go above 500k $ in 3 years on: July 19, 2017, 03:50:34 PM

When I saw the screen shots of his tweets I knew he was just rambling whether bitcoin will rise to that level or not is another discussion except he has some more information he is not sharing, I don't see that as a possibility simply because the basis for that is not shared and aside that his bet amount is not what can be effected or compelled to do even on live TV so its just a simple expression of opinion and nothing else.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: About world crisis and criptocurrency on: July 19, 2017, 03:22:53 PM
World crisis could be anything, from war, to plague, financial crises, to fundamental disruption of the social order, either way it would happen, I think it wont have any effect on bitcoin simply because people have always looked for way out of world crisis even before the advent of bitcoin. From the world wars, to the great depression down to the recession witnessed years back among several disruptions around the globe, only those involved in bitcoin would still be involved so far the internet is still working and it does not affect the power grids.
