not that i know of. icbit.se and mpex.co have futures and mpex had options but now they dont have any market makers anymore, so there is that. |

It won't pay full 50000 NAS but a bit! is the sub-board. You can post yourself, unless you want someone posting there regularly to post for you. you can save some money too that way  I want to spend NAS to people so that it gets better spread. I don't want to save those coins Someone will do that soon i guess  |

I also wanted to know how the POS works. Is there any advantage to buying more NAS. Will the NAS I have in my wallet increase over time? I am looking to invest in something long term like this.
If you have NAS in your account longer than 1440 confirmations ( ~ 1.5 days atm) and then start your client and start forging (the client needs to run for this), then you participate in a lottery to create blocks and if you create a block and it contains fees, then you will get those fees. But don't expect much return from this, maybe 0.1% per year. This is done to secure the network, not to give intrest PS: Never invest more than you can afford to lose, crypto world is crazy! |

stop posting the inital distribution. It has changed alot and this coin is only 14 days old. Look at the actual distribution here: http://nascoin.org:7888/nas?action=accountYes it is not much better but no account has more than 5%. Like NXT. The first account belongs to dgex.com the exchange and the second is the marketing accounnt. Well, we all know that how much is in individual accounts isn't important. How much is owned/controlled by individual people is important, and once people start moving their funds around from one account to another there's no accurate way to determine this. Has he sold it to someone else? Has he transferred it to a few smaller accounts, for cold storage? Has he written the passphrase on a piece of paper and swallowed it in a brief moment of mad rage? Who knows. I know that all stakeholders i know sold NAS to spread the word. Also it makes sence to keep all your NAS in one account to forge more blocks, so there is that. But yeah it is true that people could just shift NAS around to different accounts, but this hasn't happen in NXT and I don't see it happen with NAS. |

yup..so you see the problem is about the dividend yield, the normal return distribution and the vols actually within 14 days, the dividenyield and intrest rate is pretty much irrelevant. With NORMALLY DISTRIBUTED returns, the implied volatility of this deal is:  how did you fill in the current market price as 29? Implied volatility suggest that there is a market price. And as this option I sold was the only one I knew of, I just calulated 0.065BTC/1BTC*450USD = 29USD |

Flashrate is fine, it is those stupid people that put in "market orders" for lending out money and even renewing them at laughable rates without actually looking at the current market situation. I am all for keeping the flashrate option for those who want it and I have used it myself in some rare cases. You want to go vacation at that cabin with no internets/electric/indoor toilet for a few weeks, what do you do? you autolend at flash return rate.  Unrelated, I had a interesting discussion with my brother regarding Bitfinex today. It went somewhat like this.. - MtGox went bust, the same thing could happen to Bitfinex. You should withdraw all your funds from there and move them to your safe local bank-account. - I do not consider my local EU bank account "safe", I think my funds are safer at Bitfinex. - But MTGOX! - Bitfinex is not MtGox. - Well you should move funds out of there anyway, move half immediately. A bank account is much safer. It is backed by the government. The government loves you. - No. - But you could lose all your money if you keep it at Bitfinex. All of it. - If you think I should diversify my trading stuff then I would rather move 1/3 to the chinese bitcoin exchange Okcoin and 1/3 to the chinese bitcoin exchange Huboi where my funds are safer than in a local bank account where my local fascist government can decide to confiscate it for sharing political views or no reason what so ever at any time. - But your government loves you. Government keeps your money safe. Also, all Bitcoin exchanges are like MtGox, specially those in China. - Thank you for you opinion, want to play some chess now? Anyone else have problems explaining to their family why on earth they would have any funds at Bitfinex since it's apparently MtGox and a disaster waiting to happen? I had numerous discussions, but all ended with them agreeing with rational. Just point out to them that you calculated a certain % loss probability into your return and it is still a much better investmnet strategy than not keeping some funds there. But like the saying goes, don't go allin on just one thing. |

It is like a lottery for each block. If you have 1 million NAS, and there are 500 million NAS trying to forge a block, you will statistically forge every 1/500 block. But with good luck or bad luck, you could forge 1 block in 10 minutes or ever week only. Also, no new NAS are created. Only thing you can get are the TX fees in the blocks. gotcha, thanks... So, as long as my client says i'm forging I can be assured it's not sitting idle? yes! |

I see 12 peers. Yes you can fiddle with .conf ok, i deleted everything, redownload & run, seems to work now. thanks again Great! I still wonder what was wrong. Seems like you weren't really synched with the network and the peers declined your submitted transacitons. |

The other 70% - does that sound right honestly? Someone said on the NXT Forum that there are NXT initial stakeholders that went to NAS - sounds like a conspiracy, but it smells like the same thing anyways.
Well. To the 70% thing. We don't know who owns them, many could have been sold already. I hope someone will make analysis of the distribution. Just for your information, most of the investors are located in asia. So I bet most NXT stakeholders were NOT in the inital IPO, but some of them bought NAS early (like myself). |
