3201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2022, 10:14:40 PM
After the first round of matches, I can't say that I was surprised by the result of the first match. The only surprising result is that the bad news eagles won by such a big margin. I expected a closer match. The most exciting match of the day was between big and furia. They managed to win with a nice comeback from 12-3. We can say that all players played well. It seemed like there was no player who could make a difference.

Watching the replay and man you can see how tense FURIA was even though they have that big of a lead, especially when the second half came. This match just proved how CT Sided Vertigo is, given how many possible angles and a lot of possible cheeky spots the CT can use to retake or just straight up defend the site. But that huge deficit is really hard to get back to, even if the map is CT sided. Props to tabseN for those clutches and krimbo for getting info mid rounds.
3202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Would a Nation of Sports Gamblers Look Like? on: October 31, 2022, 07:47:26 PM
If they are capable of self-control I think this is okay. I don't think gamblers are irresponsible as a whole, but I don't think this would work as intended in the long run. There ought to be a problem (eventually) when the citizens are doing the same thing for the longest of time. A nation needs diversity of its people in order to survive, and that includes what they do to make money and what they do as a hobby, as gambling isn't a very viable industry to focus on for a nation.
3203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burning Coins new Marketing Ploy on: October 31, 2022, 12:54:55 PM
Devs need to point out "burning" old coins so as to emphasis that they care about the coin's economy, when in fact it shouldn't be the case since if you have a good coin to start with, lowering its number down wouldn't even come to as a solution at all. You wouldn't have this problem on the coin's economics, and you would rather focus on other important matters and less about the coin's price. Personally, I wouldn't buy these coins that has burning mechanism embedded towards it. It just doesn't sit well to me.
3204  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian University Vows to Build 7nm Chipmaking Tools on: October 31, 2022, 11:16:32 AM
Russia's plans are always grand, so grand that even its Chinese brothers can't be successful at albeit having the resources at hand and the connections needed. To put it simply, Russia speaks before Russia does something, and most of the time it never happens. While they are technologically capable in their own accord, I don't think they have the materials, let alone the technology, to create the tools that even TSMC themself cannot create. This is one big claim for Russia, and I'm almost certain that this will not push through.
3205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to crypto exchanges in the future? on: October 31, 2022, 10:37:47 AM
Fiat currencies will never cease to exist, and so even if bitcoin or other crypto managed to sit beside, or even overtake, fiat in terms of usage, people will always have that need to switch in-between currencies especially if they needed one but can't use the other. This will only emphasize the need for crypto exchanges. Also, exchanges aren't only used to trade between fiat currencies and bitcoin, you can also use it to trade with other altcoins. That's another use-case for exchanges that I think will only help it stay even if bitcoin/crypto gains the upper hand against fiat.
3206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2022, 09:46:54 AM
I didn't enjoyed the grand finals of The International 2022, honestly and that's because I want the grand finals go into 5 games. But not having doesn't means that I was disappointed.
Same here, even though I knew Tundra was going to win the experience wasn't similar to the lower bracket finals. Hopefully, Valve retains the LCQ format for the next TI since those slots weren't wasted and the teams gave us so much this tournament.
Right. They should retain the LCQ as it seems very competitive and we've seen how far the qualified teams from there. I also hope that there will be some changes like the defending champions already have the secured slot for the next TI.

I guess this has been suggested long time ago but Valve didn't obliged. Now that TI has ended, is anyone have the calls or rumors with the roster change of different teams?

T1 has already started with the departure of Xepher and Kuku. Liquid as well with the retirement of Matu. That's the only thing that's been confirmed by now. Reddit Dota doesn't seem to have any solid info yet regarding rumor transfers and roster changes so we'll see about that. One team I want to change for the better is Nigma. They should really remove Kuro as an active player and put him in a coach position or something. He doesn't seem to be keeping up with the times, not unlike Puppey who proved to us that he's still a worthy player even after playing for over a decade. Kuro might have been a good drafter in the past but with the recent games they are playing, it's best if Mind_control or someone else takes the place of a captain instead of him.
3207  Economy / Gambling / Re: I won 1500 dollars on a ufc fight + quit gambling on: October 30, 2022, 11:58:01 PM
Good thinking. Quit when you're ahead and never chase too much on the wins as it could even result with you losing more than what you've gained. You can still play here and there but only as pastimes or something to just fill your gsmbling hunger, but don't make big bets at all. Or better, find some other thing to do without leaving your interest in the sport that made you much money. It's a tough decision to make and hard to do at first, but as time goes by you'll notice that you're not actively looking to bet at all.
3208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 30, 2022, 11:39:16 PM
Yeah, not most interesting race. I expected that teams will go with 2 pit stop strategy, what maybe would made race more interesting. Mercedes expected that Red Bull will stop twice, this is why they put hard tyres on Lewis car to go till the end, but after all, Mercedes decision wasn't right.
Mixed feelings about Ricciardo. His result was great, but he ruined race for Tsunoda and got 10 second penalty which didn't affected final result, that's a bit unfair.
Good to see local hero Perez finish on podium.

Not a lot of interesting events happened in this race tbh. Just some blunders, some bloopers, and some really bad calls from some teams expecting that the other teams are going to pit. It's like they aired a half-baked tv show just to push through with schedule. But nonentheless, great drive from Perez overall. Most eyes are on Hamilton - Verstappen but Perez took my attention during the last laps of the race.

Tsunoda and Ricciardo collision isn't a pretty sight too. Not happy with only a 10-second penalty right there and I believe it should have been more.
3209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it really possible to quit on these reasons on: October 30, 2022, 11:12:10 PM
Very possible if you have the drive and the courage to do so. Most of the time, our only enemy agains this is ourselves and our self-control. Since gambling is one of the actovities that we always do, it will be quite hard to break it even if we use one of the mentioned triggers to stop playing because we think that it's okay to still play one last game.

I'd probably stop if I can spend weekends on an entirely different activity that will make me engaged and hooked at all times.
3210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Pauses Gambling Ads in App Store Pages After Developers Complain on: October 30, 2022, 10:33:44 PM
Aren't they paying all the same to get their ads in there anyway? Also, AFAIK you can report ads that you don't like to view and then it will eventually be lost in any of the ads you'll be receiving. Even if Apple cuts down on these gambling ads there wouldn't be much of a difference anyway in the end. Why aren't they looking at sexual ads that casually appear here and there?

I just report ads or skip those that I don't like anyway as a user, even if it's an in-app advertisement. Easy solution for me but perhaps to these devs it's worth a lot.
3211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 30, 2022, 10:02:26 PM
No surprise here, Jake Paul won like I said he will, but I expected fight won't go to distance with decision win.
I think he is going to call out some new MMA fighter for his next fight, maybe Nate Diaz or someone else.
Jake called out Dana White again and said he can suck his d*ck  Grin but it's best to listen his full post fight interview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEJU7E8rJsk

He called out Nate Diaz (calling him a bitch and plenty more) right after his fight.  He also said Canelo could get it too...  I think either would be good opponents, or Andrew Tate, but it seems like Logan Paul is the one going after Andrew Tate after his appearance on the Suga Show podcast.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Logan Paul's appearance on Sean O'Malley's podcast that was posted yesterday.  Logan goes after Andrew Tate hard.  If Tate doesn't step up and accept a fight with Logan after this, similarly to if Nate Diaz doesn't accept a fight with Jake, their reputations are definitely going to take a hit.  Although I understand they're all different types of fighters, except for Canelo and Jake...

Tate would probably just laugh at Logan and not accept the fight. He didn't have to, but if his ego wants to he will - plus it's good for his business and brand that could get him more money. Nowadays these fights are no longer interesting for what they bring in terms of the art of fighting but rather just the drama surrounding the fight. Logan and Andrew can hype this fight even more by talking trash to each other, and guess what, easy payouts for them no matter who the winner is.

canelo or nate diaz, whoever is the next. definitely, jake paul is now banking on the next payout from his win over silva. wonder what dana white have to say about this, because jake paul and white have beef with each other. seems that paul is getting the interest of retired professional boxers or MMA fighters. can he really challenge canelo?  Tongue

Dana White must have his blood boiling by now. Imagine his talents being punked by some Youtuber who just decided to train one day and fight against the once big names of MMA, and get paid a lot for it. Would be nice if Canelo accepts the challenge and show Jake how to get the job done. I don't really like Jake's attitude but I gotta applaud how well he carries himself and how well he hypes these matches.
3212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Early Is It Now, For Those Who Missed Bitcoin In Its Early Days? on: October 30, 2022, 09:36:46 PM
Early for you to still buy and save as much as you can. People only look at numbers but never the benefit in the long run. It's easy to think about what could have happened now if you invested early, but not look far ahead into the future and just do the things you should now. If you managed to buy and keep whatever coins you have and save them for 5-10 years, you could have easily secured a huge sum in your name by just believing and not looking too much in the past. I am still actively buying now if I feel that the price is right, and those coins directly go to a storage which I intend to access a few years from now.
3213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: October 30, 2022, 08:46:12 PM
Divulging your information to the public nowadays should always be consented. Idk what happened to keeping private information safe, but it seems that a lot of entities don't want to follow this and just want to boast their legitimacy by posting the identity of people who won big and whom they pay. Imagine if that will be the reason why the winner was put into harm's way in the first place, then a legal action might be taken against the platform who released their private information without consent just to tell the world that they are paying.

Idk if there is such a clause in KYC regulation that helps people who submit their info to be protected by such activities, even if it's within the ToS of the platform.
3214  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 30, 2022, 07:43:40 PM
Most places I visited recently were rural places so no, I don't think I've visited any casinos in my travels this year just yet. But if I have the time and if the place has one, I might just take a look around and not play. I just want to see what it's like and don't care much about experiencing it firsthand. Also, another reason is that it will be out of my budget as I only travel with a few extras, and I don't think I can ever fit whatever I have to spend on the casino on my intended budget.
3215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 30, 2022, 02:19:51 PM
Lost $100 on Secret vs Liquid plus a heartbreak since I kinda want Matu to be on the finals. Anyway, I'm currently up on my profits since I decided to bet on each game in this Tundra vs Secret finals. Nine and 33 is hard carrying Tundra, and they just have every answer to Puppey's strats and drafts. Aui did a great job of analyzing Secret, and knowing that he was once a part of that Org, he knows what runs inside Puppey's head and that surely helps.

3rd game I hope Secret wins. I just want to extend this TI to game 5 to squeeze every juice that I can get from this tournament Cheesy

I bet with the Team Secret because they are the really balance team in terms over all skills during the main stage so that's why I choose them until the finals and also I expect them to be part of the Ti Champions because we know the experience of puppey have for over a year in dota but still it is a game imagine they clean sweep by the tundra and its happen in the Team Liquid Ti7 that they manage to win a 3-0 against newbie and also this is the last game of Matu because he retires after this Ti.

Haha lost that last bet on game 3. I thought it was gonna be a 3-2 or 3-1 but Tundra has no chill. Regardless, I am quite satisfied on how this TI has panned out albeit the very poor production value from PGL and Valve. For a few minutes I thought I was in a simulation because the fights just went back for 5 minutes and I thought I was going crazy. Good thing there are backup streams that were updated and I didn't miss anything important.

Also, a month or two without professional Dota. I might have to stick to CS:GO for the time being. Grats on the wins and better luck next time on the L's, Dota bettors.

3217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino games plebs like us must play on: October 29, 2022, 11:31:48 PM
I really wanted to learn blackjack but my brain is not capable of learning new things at all. Used to sit and watch live games and even watch tutorials but I couldn't get the necessary things to keep and always fail to remember what I should do and what I should not. So far dice is serving me a lot when it comes to enjoyment, but profits? Sports betting would be my go-to when I wanted to.
3218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: October 29, 2022, 10:45:10 PM
Not quite impossible but perhaps only for the fun of it. Elon will still probably boast bitcoin and use dogecoin as the means to get the word out. Mind you, this guy's companies still have a huge holding of BTC and now that he controls the whole of Twitter, he can easily do whatever marketing or promotion he wants to get in there. Micropayments in pre-funded bitcoin twitter accounts might even be a thing and not necessarily dogecoin, but as of this moment I think he's busy getting the 'edit' feature up and running (lol) and the restructuring of the company as a whole.
3219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Websites vs Casino Apps: Which Option is Better? on: October 29, 2022, 09:22:02 PM
Native apps have way too many problems. I used to look for casino apps back then, and I did have the chance to try one but it ended with me not looking for a native casino app ever again because there's just too many issues that may arise. It's not the same as website platforms wherein tech issues can easily be fixed and not take long, plus you can use it on any device that supports it so you have a wide range of options to play from.
3220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why satoshi had one address per reward even though many people guess it is him. on: October 29, 2022, 08:37:13 PM
Perhaps he just stood by that principle: 1 address is good for 1 in and out transaction, hence why he opted to use a lot of different addresses that only contains 1 input and never spent again. He might have already anticipated that people will learn that these addresses all belong to him, and he wanted to set an example regarding change addresses.

But idk, all that we're saying here is just pure speculation at best--unless someone of us here is the real Satoshi discussing this while hidden in plain sight.
