Arrived so fast to UK yet only 30 miles away from me and
"Exception Edinburgh, United Kingdom 05/12/2013 8:11 Adverse weather conditions"
Think that means it's too bad to deliver ?
it could refer to either the road conditions or even the airport runway if the plane is having a hard time unloading

I know its only a .1 btc coupon but the whole you bought in a group buy vs you bought at auction and now don't qualify for the coupon when those both and this all ended at the same 4.25 btc is bullshit...
sorry bitmain but I'm out on principle alone ... to deny .1 btc discount for a repeat customer in whatever format is lame.
where's your sense of gratitude and reward for those who took the initial risk?
guess capitalism has taken communist china by storm these days....
hop off the horse. the groupbuy was through sushi and, while i bought in it and thought it would likely qualify for a future coupon, I knew that it was a groupbuy and not a direct purchase like the auction is. the groupbuy shipped a few days sooner then the auction will, and if anything that is worth an extra 0.1+BTC in mining profits. I am happy with the price i paid and feel it was fair, and look forwards to buying another unit in the coming weeks

Mine's also in AK... which means it has to come all the way across the US. I'm guessing Friday at the earliest but probably not until Monday Last time it got from anchorage to toronto within 36hrs i think - Im anticipating a friday delivery, otherwise being able to pick it up at the facility friday afternoon.

In the specs I see 360W, Sushi recommends 450W and Dogie even 800W for a S1 double baldes. What PSU are the current owners using?
750W PSUs. I have a 600W ready to go (550w single 12V rail) and plan to use the ATX and the PCI for power

That would be handy, but it makes everything more complex for wiring and assembly. I was planning on shipping each one with a pair of extensions, those can be cut up just fine. Kinda the goal was a closed solution for powering Cubes, GPUs and the like without requiring any splicing of wires.
I'll look more into just how much harder it'll be to rig up a terminal block for connecting to, but remember this isn't a machine product, it's a custom build so everything takes time. I might make that standard on higher-power supplies, 1000+ watts.
okay, makes sense. I know some equipment chooses to use screw terminals for the 12V line, which means using PCI extenders or cutting up the cables. a terminal on the PSU would allow easy wiring for these units, especially if only 4-6" of wire is desired

AntMiner S1 Dual Blades Spec Hash rate: 180 GH/s Power consumption: About 360 W on wall Power supply: 3 +12V DC input Power efficiency: About 2 W/GH/s on wall Size: 135 mm x 155 mm x 300 mm (Dual blades assembled, with fans or mounting bracket), Network connection: WIFI / Ethernet Cable Cooling: 12cm PWM fans and customized heat sink, expected to be very quiet at 25℃ ambient and should be able to test up to 35~40℃ ambient. Kindly reminder: you need prepare your own 12V power supply. Sushi’s setup guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.0Dogie’s setup guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355387.0 The specs in the OP states "12cm PWM fans" but in both Dogie's and Sushi's setup guides the unit has only 1 fan. Does anybody know if these units ship with 1 fan or 2 fans? 1 fan only. although adding a second might be a good idea to improve the airflow

Probably looking around 0.06BTC shipped. I'm sending a pair to a guy to test out and review right now.
~$60? not too bad, but i was hoping it might be a bit less. but if that includes shipping and >87% efficiency and pci-e cabling, then its fairly appealing just a suggestion, i would prefer if the included PCI cables were connected by ring terminals rather than soldered directly. This way they can be saved if just a 12V connection is needed without the pci power format

dont buy gen1 avalon. for 50% more get a bitmain sytem thats 60% higher hashrate and 1/3 the power draw
Are the shipping RIGHT NOW? If so, I have enough BTC to buy a few. Send me a link. If they are in 'pre-order' status. Hell no. I'll never buy pre-order crap. theyve been putting up incrementally larger batches for groupbuys and auctions over the past week and a half. look in the custom hardware and groupbuy forums. last auction was for 24hrs and 120 units, final price was 4.50BTC each (i got my first one almost a week ago for 4.75BTC and have one arriving tomorrow or friday that was only 4.25BTC )

Anyone has tracking for shipment on 04-Dec ( today )? Just still waiting for BITMAIN but no news about the shipment today!
bitmain informed me that " [my] order in group buy is shipped today, and you will receive tracking number from sushi later." I assume this means that they shipped today the 4th (its evening in china now i think)

would love to see this! what would be the price? last week i got a corsair 600M (modular) for only $44 brand new to cannibalize, bu its a shame to be paying for 5v and 3.3v rails that are not needed

wow, it's amazing more units were available and even higher prices. you think a real manufacturer who wanted a real long term business would seriously do this? I'm not going to answer this, and I can see where the USB prices are heading.
oh wait another week. oh we have problem. just another couple days. and on and on and on...
Just pure GREED.
if you had 120 units what would you do? sell them all to a single reseller for 2BTC each, or pull an avalon and ask for 5.5BTC each? or would you do this, and let people decide what they will willingly pay for it? last i checked thats not greed, its good business Depends on how many more I was going to make and how quickly I was going to make them. Long term relationship building can trump short term maximizations. right now they seem to be capable of 30-40 units per day, and there is a lot of demand for them at >4.25BTC. I like that they are doing it his way, my only qualm is that they should limit the auction to 2 units/person to help get noobies mining rather then medium-sized miners

You have 12 hour to pay per the auction rules. impossibru. need 2 days to get that much BTC. Paypal? did you read the rules before you bid? looks like your slot will be given to the next highest bidder

Nice work on the guide.
Thanks. I expected to be more trouble shooting points but so far there literally isn't anything I've had a hell of a time trying to get it working over wireless after plugging in a big-ass antenna Futzed around for an hour or so and gave up for fear of screwing up the network settings, and went back to Ethernet. Will try mucking around some more when my next units come in. Woop !!! i havent buged around with wifi yet, but i plan to on my second unit. I intent to ziptie a 600w PSU to the side/top and install an antennae so that the miner can be deployed in a corner, closet, or outsoor (cold) enclosure

AntMiner
Does the covered setup help with cooling?? yes did you make it, or repo it from a similar-sized item? i find a decent bit of airflow escapes through the 2mm opening on the outer side of the boards, which proabbly is a significant amount of cooling that can be recaptured

I kinda wish the support stuff was posted in another thread. Every time I see new posts I get excited thinking maybe Dave has finally posted again... only to be let down by the tech stuff. But I guess if it wasn't for those posts this thread would disappear and be forgotten. Dave, why have you forsaken us?! he's off doing whatever is going on with the 100Th (350TH) mine, which apparently lost its hot and cold wallet accounts this past week? PS: I am still waiting to get or use my 2.25BTC in store credit. Its getting a bit weird now that im not getting any reply as to how/when i can receive it ro my wallet or be allowed to use it on hardware that isnt for sale...

Bit on the slower side but yes. seems pretty good. 95CFM should push well, and the spped seems okay (the miner stats show a speed that does not correlate directly to RPM i think, as my 1800RPM max fan usually reads at 2200-2900)
|
|
|
How much power can the fan connector deliver?
the original fan is rated 1.3A (quite high) and is capable of >90CFM. it draws voltage directly and there are capacitors on its 12V line for stability. it is PWM-controlled, though im not sure if its speed is kept relative to the first fan or adjusted individually.
