We will go nowhere before we dump to $26k. IF 2017 pattern repeats.

Except to the moon and far beyond

<...>
There’s no easy way to assess how much one has helped globally to rank-up other accounts, other than by, perhaps, categorizing 3 factors:

a)   How broad is one’s merited network (how many people you’ve merited):
https://public.tableau.com/shared/TMB6D4YPC?:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_link

b)   How many people you’ve given their final merit to rank-up (regardless of activity):
https://public.tableau.com/shared/QDDBB3QNQ?:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_link

c)   How much percentage you’ve contributed to each profiles rank.
I have not calculated this one.

Deleting the filter from the links in the first two cases gives us a comparative between all forum members for each of the displayed concepts.

You’re the one for the job, you can make it work Grin

But also not the final merit... like for example I recently helped to rank a few members (But I didn’t gave the final merit) like I helped one until 498 .... and someone else did the final job, but I did contribute a lot for the last 50-100 merits until for example reaching 500 Hero 1000 Legendary, so the calculation should be overal or for the last 50 to 100 merits....
3224  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Ranking-up pipeline- Those close to their next rank (lacking Merits) on: January 28, 2021, 12:13:12 PM
I always try to help useful members to rank up, have been getting some of them where they deserve to be, as they are already long term bitcointalk useful members with good content...

Maybe you can make a graph of members or better sources who have been helping older account ranking up etc, would be a cool statistic imo ...

I not always have been given the final merit, like on somac., strawbs, bitcoinpsycho, exstasie, d_eddie,bitserve and many more... but on there last way to gaining new status I have helped them a lot

Also all of those members I help out are very good writers with best intentions or good content and good re-distributors of Smerit, all members that use there earned merit well to help out others etc...

3225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Another Chance for BTC to Hit $40K This Week? on: January 28, 2021, 12:05:49 PM
All is possible but if you only want 40K to happen in like a week, then its points out that you're not in here for the right reasons, BTC isn't and will not be the easy get rich fast tool... Also lets say that most people answers yes, please then don't be the fool to use this information to work on you're strategy, jusy buy HODL, buy HODL, DCA the sh*t out of it. don't listen to many price predictions.

Just use this forum, twitter, .... whatever place of information sharing and use it just for a good read and extend them with your own research.

One or a few peoples words doesn't mean d*ck, the information combined/thoughts/reasoning of many people together might get you further...

But please not look for what your initial question was, cause you will be mislead more as you think, nobody knows, even those with the best talks will be more wrong as they are right in predicting BTC short term prices.

Btw just keep longterm believes and goals, BTC up is inevitable IMHO but then again who am I.

I did not sell a single satoshi from my main stash, cold storage since late 2017. However, I do not expect 10x gains anymore.

Just ludicrous to say such things...

Though if you didn't expect 10 X gains from BTC, then I don't know why you're involved ??

2x gain in a few years is still much better than few % a savings account can give. As I have said, I am bullish, but linearly, not exponentially Smiley. Unfortunately, my stash is not big enough to retire and live comfortably by spending from it only. Still, there is a slight chance that institutional adoption could drive the price another 10x. My thought is that it is not very likely.

P.S. By not expecting 10x I mean 10x from the current (or $10k) level. 10x from the lowest point in 2018 is possible.

I do understand, everything %-wise is better as nothing... But ----->

I may not have as many coins as some people here for a very simple reason: "do not invest more than you can afford to loose". It is much easier to get richer if you are rich already. However, I do have a small stash, mostly mined long ago, in 2011-2013. I never had enough money to obtain a comparable amount after the 2017 bullrun. Buying was not an option.

As someone mined and been involved from 2011-2013 and most important still is involved... then this is just very strange imo, whatever you mined so early, HODL would have done the job not? Also being on these forums, DYOR etc should of helped you out imo, your background is way better in BTC as mine, I never mined, wouldn't know how to do etc...

3229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2021, 05:22:12 PM
Interesting... End of January is a special time for me (not going to be more specific for security reasons) and Bitcoin has a habit of making a "present" for me: it crashes. It did so in 2018 and 2019 and it is doing it now. The situation looks very similar to 2018. So, despite all that talk about bullish news, moon, BTFD, etc. - how low will it go? What do you think? $25k? $20k? Below 20?

I plan to cash out about 10-15% of my stash for some serious purchases (the rest if for holding and it can wait until 2024-2025) and I have already sold some above $30k. Now I am sitting on the fence. $25k to $30k is still fine, $20k-$25k - not so fine, and I would not like selling below $20k at all. Returning to four figures seems to be unlikely, 200 WMA is approaching $8.5k and production cost seems to be above $10k...

You seem to be a kind of guy who hardly has any coins, and probably the reason that you hardly have any coins is because you have a tendency to prepare for down, rather than up.  Hopefully not very many folks (if any) are willing to follow you and your nonsense.

Therefore, failure and refusal to adequately prepare for UP, seems to have put you into ongoing lame ass analysis in which you believe that you have some kind of extended period of time to prepare for UP... and UP is not going to really happen in any kind of meaningful way for many years, such as until 2021/2025...

You were spouting out similar kinds of nonsense when we were in the $6ks, and how did those preparations go?  Turns out that $6ks were pretty decent prices to be buying BTC in the past few years.. and UP ended up coming quite explosively in the past 4-5 months.

Indeed check some previous content of the guy, a complete n00b and poster in a wrong thread, he said the words ... something like... I have BTC because not like to have FIAT, to keep value but he said never to expect BTC would go up over 5 or 10 k or something.... some complete BS actually

then again everyone has a free mind to think with, its only his loss not ours, just pity for persons whom are familiar with BTC this early, to speak so stupid ...

3233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2021, 08:28:15 AM

Comparing Bitcoin to the internet is deeply flawed.

honest question: why is this deeply flawed? please elaborate.

Internet started as an idea, which later was implemented as ARPANET (which most people nowadays have never heard of).
The idea lives, but it is a collection of myriad of technologies, networks, protocols, cryptography, devices etc..
It's not one thing, it's all of it.
Greatness of the internet is that everyone can use it and benefit from it, but it's not an asset you can buy.

Bitcoin is code and data, which uses cryptography and was intended as a trustless digital currency to allow direct transactions, however it is more store of value since, and more so as its value rises.
Greatness of the Bitcoin is the concept, the idea, and that doesn't need BTC to live, same like internet doesn't need ARPANET.

There's a lot of more accurate analogies (key word is analogy), for example, what Ford T is to the idea of vehicle, Bitcoin is to the idea of currency.

For now, lot of people believe it is safest and most rewarding asset you can own today - me included, otherwise I wouldn't be BTC hodler.
All I was saying was, no one can predict next 10y. I doubt Satoshi 13y ago ever thought what it may become and be used for.

Good morning. Appears a bottom is trying to stabilize near $31k-$31.5k. If we drop lower, I'm loading more powder onto the exchange to scoop more dip.

Thanks to the farming and other enterprising folk for reaching out to me. Not going to break OpSec at this time, but may figure out some way of doing so, via proxy of some sort, in the distant future. Gotta purchase the property first. Agents are working out the deal. Actually asked our agent to proactively seek out the availability status of an extra ParcelID of land right next to us, essentially allowing us to start boxing out an entire portion of the entire tract of land, should people north or south of us start selling.

Thank you, Bitcorn, for being so good to us.

Onward. Upward. No limp wrists allowed.

Next target, $50k !

Happy for you my MAN, enjoy and live life at its best on that ranch!

Well played sir, well deserved

3238  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you guys think about MOVIE-TV politics?? on: January 26, 2021, 08:33:29 AM

Movies markers have to look beyond the market and they just might create contents that would beat the stains in the market and in turn, they would arrive.

Indeed, as I also really dislike movies which need PG 16 or even PG 18 but they cut out the bloody scenes etc just so kids can see it too and theres a wider public etc, I really like cinemas but only for maybe PG'ratings it could be better that movies going instant to streaming services... But still I hate it that the cinemas are closed

Also the market business gets a really good reflection that its all about the money, every blockbuster atm has some Asian characters in it, just to sell better in Asia etc
