Nice catch but there's something wrong with the title. It wasn't the first Sr. to rank up to Hero. According to DdmrDdmr's dashboard there are already 8. https://public.tableau.com/profile/ddmrddmr#!/vizhome/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/GlobalSummary

i mean why bother, from what i have read from previous post no one seemed to be able to win from them, is it really worth to spend 1000k satoshi every week on a chance to win something that does not exist, i know that freebitco.in has been online for a really long time and they have been a really good faucet for free bitcoin but through all these year did anyone come out and had a proof of him wining this lottery.
You need to learn how to read then. There are at least 4 winners in this thread.

OK, I understand why monthly interest is 99 satoshis. But our accounts don't have a 16 decimal amount, and it is clearly specified that interest amount is rounded down to the nearest satoshi. Why then do you still calculate monthly and yearly interest amount with 16 decimal and thus give a higher amount than in reality?
Because it is just a calculator and that's how they work. It's really meant for people who want to work out how much they will get if they deposit a larger amount. The difference will always be only a few sats.
when the site asked him to check his email, he accidentally clicked on "permanently delete!!!!"link.
Which email? Can you PM me a screenshot of that so I can work out what you trying to explain?

You all are great! I sing your praises from the rooftops. Just looking for new and traditional ways to spread the word.
Yeah, there's definitely a place to do it. I think probably concentrating on sites that have a traditional gambling audience that hasn't yet experience Bitcoin or crypto. I don't really see much scope in trying to persuade social media to make exceptions. With all the abuse they've been getting from the ICO scene it's only going to get tougher there.

That's very interesting! And answered some questions I had long ago, but i'm more specifically talking about reaching out to platforms like Facebook and google to certify yourselves so that our referral links be used to advertise on advanced marketing platforms. I obviously don't have access to what is needed to do that, but as a side project would anyone one on your team be able to tackle that? For example, I can;t advertise on facebook because Bitcoin has a stigma. If free bitco reached out as one of the mroe established and trust worthy sites i think that would be a step in the right direction and should be no cost to anyone other than possible paperwork and time. I believe google is in the same boat.
I think FB and Twitter are at the point this forum reached long ago and just want people to stop spamming referral links. (Sorry I misread your question the first time. I'd just answered the other one in our other thread and got confused.)

What about the doge site? Any plans for that, are the two going to merge?
The plan is to merge... eventually after we work out how to do it. So the rebrand and adding other coins comes first then Doge later.

i've been trying to find platforms to advertise on. with certain major parties blocking crypto ads, has freebitco considered appealing these companies so that we can market for them more successfully? I'm pretty sure if they approached google and facebook with data about their operation they might be granted more leeway and not be considered spam.
We used to carry advertising but the rates are low for incentivised sites so it really wasn't worth it. Most of it ended up being for things that looked a bit scammy and we were not happy to be associated with. We're rebranding and moving the image of the site forward and going back to advertising isn't the direction we plan to go.
|
|
|
I don't think advertising fits in with the future direction we have planned. The rebrand is about taking 'free' out of the name and making it primarily a gambling and exchange site. Adverts make it look more like just a faucet site.

|
I'm wondering why there are no ads anywhere on the site? Surely there are enough visitors each day to be a tempting for advertisers.
The ads were removed about a year or two ago. I don't think they were making very much though. I think mostly there's an issue that a lot of the adverts probably came from other faucets or casinos so that might turn people away from freebitco.in (not sure though). I also think they used to charge $0.15 per 1000 impressions - it might have been a bit higher though like 1000000 instead of 1000. @TheQuin, could you get wetsuit to put ads on freedoge.co.in to try to get the minimum reward up as 0.17 doge is a bit on the low side. The low income from advertising on incentivised sites is one reason and the other is that most of the adverts are for things that look quite scammy and we don't want to be associated with them.

jefrihunterCopy: well i think the infrastructure is being ramped up which is needed. The underlining technology is there we just need more infrastructure and adoption to see the whole market increase. What I would say regarding the bank notes is that I think it is bit of a novelty. The beauty of bitcoin is that is is massively divisible and can be sent cross borders and Another advantage of banknotes before online transactions is the developers call the instant payment and the absence of commissions
Original As the popularity and value of Bitcoin increases so do its adoption. Recently, about 4,000 new ATMs were introduced in Argentina. A drastic transformation in this sphere is being brought by Tangem that is trying to make the cash like transaction through cryptocurrencies a possibility for the users. Tagem, a new smart banknote platform is launching the bitcoin banknotes in Singapore, which is known for its blockchain and crypto favorable regulatory measures. The notes will be on sale at the Megafash Suntec City store. The aim is to mass produce the physical notes of bitcoin in millions by the end of 2018. It might help people who haven't been exposed to bitcoin before conceptualise it slightly better.

Some months ago I bought 0.15btc for my mother. If freebitco turns into SCAM she will kill me. I think there may be a huge DDOS attack or something else problem. Hope they will solve the problem soon and we can access the website. In past we have seen some huge downtime like this (Ex: 6~8 hours). Don't worry...they have a big reputation in the world of bitcoin. Hope site will be back soon No, it was a server hardware fault as I have already posted.
Fixed
We are back up now! This weekend we shall hold a 5x reward point promotion instead of our regular promo and we have a new contest coming on the 1st of July. @freebitco
Thanks, but please source your quotes to avoid confusion. https://twitter.com/freebitco/status/1009704419913433089
@Chris314 Work it using 16 decimal places and the compounding works out to 99 sats. https://i.snag.gy/93OcNU.jpg

When I try to do this my screen go to a "502: Bad gateway" screen. My rolls doesnt work neither.
Try reading all the thread including the bits telling you we are having hardware problems rather than just picking a random post to quote.

What will happen to our reward points?
Lol. Let's let the man fix the servers first.

It looks like a hardware level problem, he's working on it.

I've emailed wetsuit and I'll update when I hear back.

Can someone from freebitco.in chime in? Hopefully this is a known issue, our balances are fine, etc. Would be nice to hear. It's been quite a few hours now.
I can't be here 24/7. I've emailed wetsuit and I'll update when I hear back. Seriously? You worry about your balance when there is a small technical glitch? Edit: It looks like a hardware level problem, he's working on it.
|
|
|
Well at least you're darn quick to answer. Is wetsuit even around anymore or are you admin or so?
He's still admin but he's really busy so he's asked me to look after the forum for him.
