3222  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB in UK] AMD Radeon HD7990 or 2 x HD7970 / 280x on: October 06, 2014, 02:39:36 PM
Hi all,

I'm looking for a Radeon HD7990 or 2 x 7970 / 280x.

They will be used for mining so prefer faster mining versions of the 7970 / 280x.

I'm in the UK so would prefer to buy from UK to keep postage costs down.

No silly prices please, if I wanted that I'd buy from ebay Wink.

Post below what you have and asking price or shoot me a PM.

Escrow will be used to protect both parties.

EDIT: I am looking to pay 1btc delivered for a 7990 or 2 x 7970 / 280x.

These do look nice coins, have you considered selling them unfunded?
3224  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Call to arms! on: October 06, 2014, 06:20:43 AM
The big mining farms can still be very profitable.  Tax write offs are not needed.

If you pay under $0.06 cents per KWh, and are an ASIC manufacturer, you are still making good money from your massive farms.

The current return on mining is 18 cents per hour Terrahash, or 18 cents per KWh, well above running cost of say 6 cents per KWh.

This assumes mining efficiency of 1J/Gigahash and $300 per bitcoin.  In fact the recent miner hardware is significantly more efficent than 1J/gigahash and large farms in places like Iceland, Sweden, Washington State and parts of China are likely to be paying less than $0.06 per KWh.

While home mining in most places is unprofitable and miners have been turned off in droves don't assume everyone is making a loss.

Ultimately the difficulty will keep slowly rising till the most economic miners are marginally profitable but we are not there yet.  And uneconomic large mining farms will not be dismantled immediately, instead they will be mothballed, waiting for more profitable times.

Good post. Unfortunately 99% of us don't make asics and pay more than $0.06 KWh.

NO
3226  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Hash rate declining slightly in recent weeks. on: October 05, 2014, 07:30:00 PM
All this new hardware going online and btc price keeps going down.

Panic sellers and miners of all sizes needing to sell to cover costs, things aren't looking good Huh
3227  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Cloud Hashing Shares!!! Very cheap!! BTCTechnologySTL on: October 04, 2014, 11:58:29 PM
If you're looking for feedback, your prices are expensive.
3228  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Antminer S3 UK Only on: October 04, 2014, 11:05:45 PM

I'm in the UK so would be looking for seller in UK to keep down postage costs.

Please post here what you have and how much or send me a PM.

Escrow will be used to protect both parties.

3232  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are Bitcoin Enthusiasts SUCKERS? And Cloud Mining and Hashlets likely the next Big Scam? on: October 03, 2014, 09:20:06 PM
In a bearish market, the cloud "hashing" is a perfect scam to make money.

The suckers (customers) literally paid for future bitcoins at today price. However they only receive bitcoins in future days where the price is lower.

However, so many suckers on here think they're making "investment" with cloud hashing.

I never thought Bitcoin would attract this many idiots. Greed is understandable, but the idiocy in this is unseen.

For this auction all coins will be required to be funded by the winner before they are shipped.

Coins will need to be funded before they are shipped?

Epic comment:
I am willing to buy 3 gas stations. Is there any discount if i buy it in bulk?

Cheesy

OT:
Not really looking to buy a gas station, but I am still curious, what does a gas station like this goes for nowadays? (just approximately)

A petrol station not far from where I live was on the market for £500,000 ($798,268) a few months back and sold, it wasn't as big as the one in the picture.

Not sure if it went for asking price or not but must have been close.

Interesting, thanks for the info  Smiley

You're welcome Smiley. This is in the UK, not sure if prices are the same in Romania.

3237  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Home mining is dead. on: October 03, 2014, 06:29:18 PM
Some basic accommodation in the UK (mainly flats or bedsits) come with free electricity included in the rent. Its obviously not free they just put it on the rent Wink.

However I know for a fact that the landlords would notice if they had an extra light on, let alone mining equipment as they know what the average expected usage would be.

The reason I know is because I do work for many different landlords and they know where every penny is going in every property they own.
3238  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Home mining is dead. on: October 03, 2014, 08:36:59 AM
I solo mine 3gh.  I figure I have a 1 in 42 million chance of hitting a block every 10 minutes.  Better than powerball odds, not as big a jackpot tho.  But I'll take it.

Is my math right?

I would like to know that too!

With 3 GH at current difficulty would take on average 895 years to solo mine a block according to http://www.bitcoinx.com/.

Doesn't mean to say you wont find one today, tomorrow or next week but your chances are very slim.
3239  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Your opinion: Is mining still profitable? on: October 02, 2014, 07:18:45 AM
I turned off my S1's a few weeks ago because they were losing money with the cost of electricity here in the UK (£0.15 / $0.25 kwh).

It's even worse now because BTC has gone down more in value. Unless you've got cheap electricity and already own the equipment outright, mining is not profitable.
3240  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Free Hardware (lots of it) on: October 02, 2014, 06:16:42 AM
They're obviously in no rush to get rid because offers of collection were made ages ago.
