I'm less worried about crypto mining profit presently but I want to know which coins I can mine and hold for 2024-2025, electricity ? Not a problem also I have all the patience to keep mining even if my 12$ per day turned 2$ per day.
$12 per day is 2-6 video cards, I think. There is no information yet when Ethereum mining will end, so keep mining the most profitable coins. But keep in mind that if 90% of video cards are used in Ethereum mining, then the profit may decrease by more than 6 times. In your case, I would also look for a profitable coin in the future, because you only pay for electricity.

I don't want to start my crypto mining journey with what if as I'm ready for anything that's been thrown at me, I have access to the sunlight can I use this to farm and mine coins just for a beginner nothing too big, I read it's possible because I'm from Africa and grid power isn't always available every day.
There are a lot of important points here: If there is no electricity at night or there is not enough power for mining, then there is no need to invest in mining. If you have batteries, what is the maximum power you can use for mining?

Had a dreaded W10 update hit my personal PC overnight and now I can't get a driver to work on my MSI 470.
Thanks in advance for any tips!
For my Rx 470 I used Atikmdag patcher 1.4.7. Maybe new versions have support for more graphics cards, but this was the last version that worked stably before I started using Hive OS. If this does not help, then you can flash the original BIOS and mine with a lower hashrate, but you will not have problems after the updates. If you have a mining farm, then use Hive OS.

ETH ≈19.05 MH/s ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) This calculator shows incorrect data, and other coins have been using ASICs for a long time. If you are interested in earning 3-6 dollars a month, then you should study the information. But it is better to look for other ways to earn money.
|
|
|
now i'm making $28-30 a day with 800MH in eth, is there any coin alternative that would be more profitable?
It depends on your video cards. If you have Nvidia 1060-1080 or AMD 470-580 video cards, then it’s easier for you to continue mining Ethereum. If you have modern video cards, then study the information about dual mining Ethereum+Ton and Ethereum+Alephium.

Thanks all for the advice and trouble shooting tips but it seems that I have a dead board.
First, I would Reset the BIOS using jumpers on the motherboard. Then I would ask a colleague to flash the BIOS with the latest firmware version using a programmer. The BIOS chip is removed. If I didn't find any damage on the motherboard and my actions didn't work, I would buy a new motherboard.

If it worked, then either the software was sold for money and this method was tested by blogger miners. Otherwise, they are viruses. I would immediately stop watching such videos if I saw a series of RTX Axхx video cards in the description.

Smart miners use borrowed funds when they already have a certain amount of income from mining, and they can repay debts from mining profits. In this situation, profit may not be enough.

Riserless motherboards are good because they remove the worry of having the sata cable melt down, this is the most common item that usually melts for most miners. So it’s not a bad idea.
You still got the risk of the GPU themselves having some fault such as a shorted capacitor which goes up in smokes, however this is more rare and usually the PSU detects the short and shuts down.
Riserless motherboards add other problems, such as a mining farm requiring additional cooling or a closed case, and these are additional costs. I think it's cheaper to buy quality raisers and a quality power supply. I was against them in the first place, but just 8 additional fans it is not that big of a power cost to cool it down.I bought it last Sunday and put it to work on Monday, the riserless motherboard, not a single problem so far.I completely have eliminated that saying "I got 99 problems and one bad riser is all of them" and I have also a few free slots in my old motherboard for which I have ordered a Rtx 2060 12 GB to try. I agree it is more difficult to set up properly such motherboard at the beginning but once you do it is a set and forget thing then.I know for sure if I will build another rig this is the kind of motherboard I will use. If you use Rtx 2060 for mining, then additional fans will be enough. If you use Rtx 3080, Rtx 3090, then in the summer you will have to think about good ventilation or additional cooling with an air conditioner. And I always thought that a mining motherboard is easier to set up than a regular ATX motherboard for a PC.

It's been over 5 years since I been here, and I wanted to start mining zcash
Any good custom miners out there? I remember I used some in 2016 but I need a refresher. Thanks
If you want to mine this coin on video cards, then forget about this idea. Now this coin is served by ASICs. Look for more information on equipment on the website of ASIC manufacturers. https://aliexpress.ru/popular/miner-zcash.html

Can other altcoins handle miners hash rates once ETH is out of the picture in June? This is what's still keeping me away from building some new mining rigs presently, what do you think will happen?
If you are sure that Ethereum mining will end in June, then save money to buy the mining farm from the miners for less. If more than 90% of video cards are mining Ethereum, and there are no new coins, then there will be a big sale in the mining equipment market.

Waste of time if you dont have a good place away from any house.
If your place is tiny dont mix gpu with asics.
Mixing GPUs with ASIC doesn’t affect anything. Many years ago most retail miners had tons of ASICs at their home and they also had GPUs. ASICs also take up much less room than a GPU rig. The biggest difference is that the ASICs are crazy loud. So you can mine at home but the rigs need to be in a separate room such as a basement. You can’t sleep in that room. "ASICs are crazy loud" GPU and ASIC mixed give a lot of problems if the intake air temperature is not low. Not all asics are loud https://www.jinglemining.com/products/jasminer-x4-etchash-brick?variant=42041023037666Hashrate: 65MH/s±/10% Power: 23W±/10% ETC Deadline: 2029/02 ETH Deadline: 2022/09 I have not seen reviews of this ASIC, this may be a scam. Find more information if you want to buy.

Is it possible to collect loan of 25,000$ to build a mining farm? I have free electricity through solar but the loan part is what I've never done before your advice is needed.
If you are new to mining, then it is better to find a partner who rents your premises from you, and with the money you receive, your partner will make you a mining farm. The profit in mining is not big now, and I think that you should not rush into shopping. It is better to wait for the end of ethereum mining and buy very cheap video cards.

Would you buy a rtx2060 super for 440$ right now for long term mining? It's possible to get 45mh from this graphic card I heard I just want to know if 440$ fits this graphic card
Great price, I would buy 5-10 pieces in order to replace old video cards on a mining farm. But beware of buying scams. Did you find these video cards in a store or are you offered to ship them from China at such a price?

I did not say that celeron or pentium are not suitable for 8 video cards,
Nobody did. But with only 16 lanes of PCIe available in the system problems can be expected as the number of GPUs gets close to the limit. Some lanes are assigned to other devices. More lanes means fewer problems. The mobo was designed to support a full featured Core CPU. It's false economy to go cheap with a CPU to support a dozen or more GPUs. You speak the right words. I try not to farm more than 8 video cards, so I use the cheapest processors and 4 GB of memory. Hive OS uses a little more than 2GB of memory. I can even mine coins with 3 GB of RAM, but this is a small savings.

Normally when I had some cable melt or GPU blow up a capacitor all it does is make the rig crash. Never led to an actual fire. However I was always worried.
Kept all the rigs on metal open air cases and on a metal rack and kept away from anything flammable. Also had extra smoke detectors near the mining rigs. So if anything happened when I was home I would run quick. If I wasn't home then that's another issue.
I guess you can have a remote smoke detector and some cameras, you see the rig go up in flames you can call the fire dept. No idea if it would help that much since you are remote however.
I did add a NEST temperature sensor by the rig to monitor that locations temperature as well as 1 large exhaust fan (a tall narrow one. Like an ionizing fan) and 1 Milwaukee fan to use for rapid cooking if needed. Will buy a fire extinguisher today, and the camera, I have an extra AXIS camera laying around so I’ll put it to good use . Though, I was seeing if you guys have any software implementations in place, like if GPU hits X temperature or X power draw, then stop or alert via discord or something like that For the temperature you have a built in option in HiveOS settings after you log in into your account and you can for example set an option if temperature of a card hits 80 degrees Celsius stop mining and you receive an email that a worker went offline after some minutes.I know this is not 100% what you are looking for but to a great extent can help you with that. Even if this option is not enabled, if the video card or memory chip overheats, throttling will turn on, and the hashrate and temperature will decrease. This can often be seen on the RTX 3090 graphics card. The main problems are cables and power supplies. Or video surveillance or smart fire detectors.

Hi guys,
Wonder if there is a way to OC memory (mclk) in bat file so I can completely remove OC softwares, Afterburner and and NvidiaNvidiaInspector? -cclk works fine but I cannot figure out about mclk.
Miner I'm currently using is lolMiner (dualmine ETH+TON) and I mine with 3070s
Thanks alot!
Read this: The parameter --mclk is used to fix a memory Clock of the GPU Nvidia AMPERE (RTX 3000 Series), it cannot push up an offest, so it is NOT used to overclock Memory algo like ETH/ETC. It will be interesting for TON Mining at the moment, because the 3rd Apps only allow offset from -2000 Linux or -502 in Windows. For TON the parameter should be : --mclk 810 mclk Parameter

I live in Russia, and many companies, such as Asus or HP, do not require documents. It is enough to go to the site, write the serial number and see the warranty period. This period is considered as a few months from the date of production + 1 year warranty. But if you bought a product that has been in the warehouse for more than a year, then documents are needed. Large retailers also have their own databases of serial numbers, and documents are needed only when returning money for low-quality goods. It's the same situation with cars. If the car is serviced by an authorized dealer, then the warranty is not lost after the sale of the car. The owner's information is not written in the warranty book.

Very interesting, but I have not seen MSI video cards without warranty seals. I have seen some graphics cards where two of the four screws had warranty seals. Maybe it depends on the country where the given batch of cards is sent.
