Why buy asics if mining with them isn't profitable unless you're the manufacturer smart ass?
I won't bother posting anymore, people in here need to get an MRI scan.
This. The only people who make any real money off ASICs are the manufacturers of them. By the time they sell them on to the public they're practically worthless. "ASICs put power in the hands of the little guy!" LOL, there's one born every minute. That $400 S1 Antminer will never pay for itself. Neither will the Titan when KnC have finished mining with it and flog it on to you suckers. For people in the money game it's amazing how many of you can't do simple math.

You can see it in the future?
I can see ALL scrypt coins being worth exactly nothing one year from now at best, that's for sure. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I wish you luck (I'm not into LTC in any way presently) but it's going to be a struggle, most people are completely clueless. ASICs have been shipping for months and idiots are still releasing new scrypt coins... bigger idiots are buying ASICs thinking they'll make a killing - they had better make that killing in the next two months, tops...
I've been backing scrypt-n since I started mining a month ago, the writing was on the wall for scrypt then. Now mining some X11 coins too. Scrypt is history.

Right, thanks for the advice guys, now running my 270s at I13, 1070/1480, gpu threads 2, tc 6336, and powertune 20 just for voodoo purposes. Sitting nice and stable so far getting 1.25MH each @ 54C, ~5MH total. The almost identical box sat next to it mining vert is at 64-69C each card at 975/1250.
Plenty of Accepteds scrolling by down below, but the top line showing Accepted shares only incrementing very slowly?
Mined a mighty 1.5 DRK so far in 8 hours or so. Hopefully this rate will increase a bit with PPLNS.
Yeah accepts are low (since it must work through all the 11x before one accept is done?) as long as your WU is at around 0.018 ish ? 0.072 total so yes 0.018 per card.

Dammit, one GPU went SICK. Dropped to I19 and 975 core, will see how that goes... the ones in this rig are XFXs which do not have a stellar rep but were dirt cheap. Other rigs are Sapphires, and Gigabyte Windforce jobbies, which will hopefully take a bit more abuse when I get around to it tomorrow.
You run 270's at I19? My 270x's run best at 13. Well I am now as I20 killified one of them after 30 minutes. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Fingers crossed. What clocks are you running? Maybe I should drop the intensity and up the core/mem speeds? I'm new to X11, still experimenting.

|
|
Ah, yeah XFX is going to be a different story I'm afraid. A shame how cheaply those things are made..
The Gigabytes are so much better, 5C cooler and literally half the noise. Well worth the extra few £s. Mind you if I was building another rig I'd go with 750Tis or whatever the new Maxwells are when they arrive... 2MH(X11)/120W/£150... I hope, haha... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Great stuff, I have 1.23 million coins now unconfirmed that were presumeably mined after the fork?
Any way of retrieving these or are they gone for good? I was enjoying being a Genesiscoin millionaire... Also, what pools are known safe to mine on with everything updated? Was using multi-pool-eu. Don't want to waste any more electricity/hash. grrrr, new wallet now refusing to sync... 3 hrs behind, 4hrs behind, 5 hrs behind, 6hrs behind... has 4 connections apparently but they aren't helping... On the first page of this thread the first post has a ton of addnodes that you can put in your configuration file, and that should solve any syncing issues. Already had the nodes, but downloading the data file did the trick! Still mourning my 1.23 million though... :/ edit: I deleted everything and started again, resynced the blockchain from scratch and I AM RICH AGAIN BWAHAHAHA ! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) remember not to delete the wallet.bat ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) No fear, backups are a religion with me! edit: oh for fucks sake fired up the new wallet again this morning, it synced up and I'm back to 1.23 million coins AWOL.

I have a couple 270s that run at about 1.37Mh. Just bump your clock speeds to ~1130 core / 1500 mem and you should be all set. You can also turn the fans down on them, they don't need to run at 2.8k rpm when your GPU is so cool ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Thanks, getting 1.275MH/card with I20 and 1050/1450 clocks @ 49C. WU up to 0.080-0.084ish. Have also lowered fanspeed Bit nervous of clocking up further, best I could do on scrypt-n was I18 and 975 core (1250 mem gave best hast weirdly) without HW errors creeping in. Will leave it overnight and see if it's still chugging happily in the morning. Have another two 270 rigs currently mining vertcoin, but temps are getting a bit tropical in my garage/gym. This might be my summer coin.

OK, first off, the wallet compiled in Xubuntu 13.10 WITHOUT HOURS OF BUGGERING ABOUT FIXING STUFF, which is a first for me. Thank you Darkcoin devs! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Now does this look right for my 270 rig: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi58.tinypic.com%2Ffzcck1.png&t=664&c=iCHsCKta_7bZgQ) conf file: "auto-fan": true, "gpu-fan": "80-100", "temp-cutoff": "85", "temp-overheat": "80", "temp-target": "75",
"worksize": "256", "intensity": "18", "thread-concurrency": "6336",
"api-port": "4028", "api-listen": true, "api-allow": "W:127.0.0.1",
"failover-only" : true, "no-pool-disable": true, "no-submit-stale" : true,
"queue": "0",
"kernel" : "darkcoin", "kernel-path": "/usr/local/bin"
Performance about right for 270s or could I extract more? For scrypt/scrypt-n I usually specify core/mem speeds, haven't here, just stuck a pool in the example file that came with BAMT 1.6. (sgminer-sph) Any help welcomed!

Still can't compile. src/qt/chartpage.cpp:10:20: fatal error: Qpainter: No such file or directory #include <Qpainter> ^ compilation terminated. make: *** [build/chartpage.o] Error 1
What is the version of your QT base? You can comment this line then try again. Thank you! Deleted that line, then got a load of crap about mgw48 type stuff but I've dealt with that before... So, if it helps anyone on Xubuntu 13.10: chmod+x ./build_detect_platform in /genesiscoin-master/src/leveldb Then delete the #include Qpainter line in /src/qt/chartpage.cpp Then delete the BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX=-mgw48-mt-s-1_55 line in bitcoin-qt.pro ...and it will build. Coin devs really should be made to follow their own instructions and then be beaten with a stick when they don't work. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Haven't managed to build a single wallet yet without some sort of faffing.

Does anybody have any idea why my 2nd GPU kH is so low? 0GPU and 2GPU runs in about 300Kh/s but GPU1 only about 5. Tried different TC, didn't help. My cards are 290's "intensity" : "13,13,13", "vectors" : "1, 1, 1", "worksize" : "512,512,512", "kernel" : "scrypt, scrypt, scrypt", "lookup-gap" : "2,2,2", "thread-concurrency" : "24500,24500,24500", "api-port" : "4028", "temp-cutoff" : "90,90,90", "expiry" : "120", "gpu-engine" : "1000, 1000, 1000", "gpu-memclock" : "1350, 1350, 1350", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "60", "queue" : "0", "device" : "0,1,2", "shaders" : "0,0,0", "gpu-powertune" : "20,20,20", "scrypt-vert" : true If the cards are all the same, or you want to run them all at the same settings, there's no need to put every figure in there three times, it just complicates matters and doesn't achieve anything. Also I'd suggest changing queue to 0, scan time to 1 and expiry to 30 as suggested in the OP, unless you have some reason for them being higher. And if you are going to put a shaders line in, change it to however many shaders a 290 has.

are you too stupid to follow compile instructions? you can even copy paste the commands...
Mate the instructions provided by over half the wallets I've managed to compile haven't worked. Wrong or missing dependencies, old makefiles etc. It SHOULD be a few copy/paste ops but it rarely is. Here's how I got anoncoin-qt wallet working last night on Xubuntu 13.10 if this helps anyone: apt-get install all the dependencies in the readme-qt.rst EXCEPT libdb++-dev, as this installs the wrong version for recent ubuntu based distros. If you've already installed it then apt-get remove it. So: sudo apt-get install libqtgui4 qt4-qmake libqt4-dev build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev git
Then get the right db: (echo deb http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid main restricted universe multiverse; echo deb http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates main restricted universe multiverse; echo deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lucid-security main restricted universe multiverse) | sudo sh -c 'cat >>/etc/apt/sources.list'
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8++
Then get i2p: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:i2p-maintainers/i2p
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install i2p
Then rebuild the i2p makefile: (you might not need to do this if you've build anoncoind already) cd i2psam make -f makefile.unix
Then run qmake then make in the top level directory inside anoncoin-master folder. If you get NO TARGET error then you've probably got qt5 installed, run qmake-qt4 instead. Hopefully I haven't forfotten anything! Wallet fires up and syncs but I haven't mined anything to test it with yet or buggered about with Tor etc.

26 HW errors in 50000 shares is too high, I get one or two per million, you need to address that card's config somehow.
Christ the pool I'm at has found nothing in 8 sodding hours.
