3221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: October 29, 2022, 10:45:10 PM
Not quite impossible but perhaps only for the fun of it. Elon will still probably boast bitcoin and use dogecoin as the means to get the word out. Mind you, this guy's companies still have a huge holding of BTC and now that he controls the whole of Twitter, he can easily do whatever marketing or promotion he wants to get in there. Micropayments in pre-funded bitcoin twitter accounts might even be a thing and not necessarily dogecoin, but as of this moment I think he's busy getting the 'edit' feature up and running (lol) and the restructuring of the company as a whole.
3222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Websites vs Casino Apps: Which Option is Better? on: October 29, 2022, 09:22:02 PM
Native apps have way too many problems. I used to look for casino apps back then, and I did have the chance to try one but it ended with me not looking for a native casino app ever again because there's just too many issues that may arise. It's not the same as website platforms wherein tech issues can easily be fixed and not take long, plus you can use it on any device that supports it so you have a wide range of options to play from.
3223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why satoshi had one address per reward even though many people guess it is him. on: October 29, 2022, 08:37:13 PM
Perhaps he just stood by that principle: 1 address is good for 1 in and out transaction, hence why he opted to use a lot of different addresses that only contains 1 input and never spent again. He might have already anticipated that people will learn that these addresses all belong to him, and he wanted to set an example regarding change addresses.

But idk, all that we're saying here is just pure speculation at best--unless someone of us here is the real Satoshi discussing this while hidden in plain sight.
3224  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk Becomes Owner Of Twitter, Immediately Fires CEO And CFO on: October 29, 2022, 07:57:38 PM
Well that's the last thing you want from a company anyway, executives that are trying to hide information and downplaying problems here and there for the sale to not push through. I don't think people will stop using Twitter now that Elon is the owner, and if anything it might even promote the use of the site because between the two social media giants, Elon is somehow 'lenient' and 'cool' with lots of topics being thrown around (I still don't like the guy).
3225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 29, 2022, 06:04:39 PM
Quite saddening that it's not a Secret v Liquid in the finals, but whatever the case will be, I'm glad that Matu and Puppey will have a shot at their second Aegis tomorrow. Tundra also proved their superior mid-late game against a very strong Team Secret. 2 games, 2 chances for Secret to up their mid-late game heroes but they simply could not penetrate Tundra at all. Whoever wins between Liquid and Secret tomorrow will surely have a hard time against Tundra.
3226  Economy / Economics / Re: House is a forced saving on: October 28, 2022, 11:58:51 PM
If you have the capacity to sit on your real estates for a long time, I don't think it's hurting you in any way. The price of houses appreciates and depreciates, but so long as you have one that is situated in a very good spot, its price won't go anywhere but up. I've seen a lot of houses -- or even lots -- go up in value even though other houses on other areas continue to decline. Location is king in real estate, and the more you are close with a lot of things, the better it is for you even if you end up having a hard time paying for its mortgage. You will also have a backup home if worse comes to worst. Maintenance would be hell though, but if you can buy a house, you most probably can afford its maintenance as well.
3227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lottery's defense to not paying a huge winning. on: October 28, 2022, 11:42:02 PM
Isn't this the same topic wherein the company is trying to pay less than what the winnings are? If there is an attempt to pay the winner with less the amount that they should have, it means that the lottery company somehow recognizes the win but cannot pay the prize in full. There already is the gesture but they just can't shoulder the $160,000 win. Probably just them trying to cheat the winner by settling with a lower amount.

Hopefully the winner never gets tired of pursuing this case because he obviously has a lot of reasons to get this case in his favor.
3228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino with an online and offline branch. on: October 28, 2022, 10:20:44 PM
I don't think that will happen any time soon. We have lots of casinos here with different branches, but I think they avoid being online because it siphons a lot of their possible revenue because they can't make the gambler stay more with their common tricks. Also, it will be another compliance with the government if land based casinos ever try to put their business in the internet. Same goes for online casinos that looks to create their physical counterpart.
3229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler who betrayed his friend's trust on: October 28, 2022, 09:37:18 PM
This is no longer about gambling but more about morals. Only those greedy enough who doesn't have the morals can do such thing. Most gamblers I knew would still share the winnings, or in order to avoid this from happening wouldn't pool their money at all. Also nowadays, people are very easy to find if you have leads and prior connection. He might not have any legal reason to pursue his 'friend' but I think this can be made to a case of estafa or anything and get his money back. Then again, no legal basis/writing = basically it didn't happen.
3230  Economy / Gambling / Re: Maybe Yet to be seen? on: October 28, 2022, 10:19:31 AM
Maybe I am not looking enough? That's why I decided to ask you all these questions

1. Is it possible for NFTs to coexist with a crypto-gambling project?

2. What usefulness do you think 🤔 could make NFTs useful for crypto gamblers?

3. Is there any real-time ( LIVE ) crypto gambling platform where friends from around the world can come together either through web3 kinda like or just live video to gamble on the platform?

The idea is too little too late, I think. The hype around NFTs basically died a year ago, and right now I don't think there are people that are still interested into receiving NFTs as a reward for their gambling activities, nor there are people out there who thinks this is a good idea and will support the platform. It might pique the interest of some people but I don't think it's something that might stick around for the long term.

I normally avoid projects with NFT nowadays, and even if a platform gives enough bonuses and whatnot to keep its users, I would still go the other way and stay at my regular casino if I just wanted to waste some money.
3231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: October 27, 2022, 11:59:30 PM
I do Martingale when I want to lose in the next few bets. Anything else in dice, I just stick normally with my usual bets even in an event of a huge loss streak. After a few more losses, I switch the odds to a very low amount, bet very low, then if that loses, double my bet size and return to my normal multiplier. If that still loses, I get back to my normal bet size and multiplier until I hit a win, and just stay where I'm at until I hit a lose streak. It's tedious but I managed to increase my bankroll this way, for several times now.
3232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The High Rollers and The Plebs - Who Wins The Most? on: October 27, 2022, 11:33:25 PM
It will depend on your betting habits and patterns. No matter how small or big your bankroll is, if you always go on all out, you will always lose your money. But if you play conservatively, you'll see that you'll last longer. If we are talking about the frequency of winning between the two, I'd say both will always have the similar chances if they both have the same betting patterns and proportional bet sizes. But in the amount of winnings, it's obvious that the one with the larger bankroll will always win the most.
3233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote To Earn (V2E) on: October 27, 2022, 10:54:28 PM
The concept is good but there will always be ways to abuse the system, take the money out, and then the devs will not bother reviving the hype on the project. I've seen it happen a lot of times on other potentially big projects in the past and it's just appalling how so many people are being led to believe on the project without the devs/creators sticking with their guns up til the end. Next question would be, what would the developers do in order to sustain the economy of the project? This is where most projects fail, but they don't care to bounce back anyway since the creators have already profited from their cash cow.
3234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won 9600$ in dice by mistake with 2% chance on: October 27, 2022, 10:27:19 PM
I wouldn't call it a mistake - I'd call it a 'happy little accident' as per Bob Ross Grin It's not always you'll get that kind of accident. If it happened to me, I'd not be speaking for days and would not be able to process the shock that I just went through. Good thing too that the platform paid accordingly, and without hesitation as well. Most casinos would surely make you work for your winnings and that's something that doesn't work well for us.

Grats on the win and hopefully you don't make the same mistake again because the next time around, you might get the opposite result Cheesy
3235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 27, 2022, 06:20:28 PM
@emrecemsan  I'm not sure whether device's return to Astralis would change many things. We first need to see them in some official matches in big tournaments. Then we can start making sure of their condition.

Astralis were actually seeming like they were going back to the times they were a solid team. But after a point their performance started to drop down a lot. There was no meaningful explanation for that also. This led them out of top 10 in the world rankings as well. By the way, I don't know if replacing Farlig was a good idea. Actually MistR has been like a temporary player after k0nfig was sent from the team. I assumed they would make a change with MistR. Maybe they want to give some chance to him for some time and then decide upon his future.

Dev1ce is still a great player, although their team work and their synchronization is far off from where it used to be. Him returning to Astralis meant a lot of things, although of course since he went away and joined other teams, that feeling of being one with the team is also gone - hopefully only for a moment. I still want to see old Astralis in a one last ride kind of thing, although of course I know it would be pretty hard for that to achieve nowadays but maybe what they need is time to play together once more.
3236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 24, 2022, 11:54:43 PM
Can't believe there are analysis involved in this match lol. Seriously?

It's 100% obvious that this is all about entertainment and both camps are surely talking with each other about how they will behave in the ring. Not reading the whole terms yet but this fight won't even have a declared winner at the end, or anyone can correct me on that. Regardless, the winner of this match is not that important.

As long as they fulfill their promise that part of their profit on this exhibition match will be for charity purposes, then it's good. That might be just the big reason for people to support and pay for tickets to this fight.

Exactly. I doubt both parties would take the match too seriously. It's an exhibition match, why should there be any analysis at all? Of course it might matter on the entertainment that these two fighters can bring, but in the gambling aspect of things, it shouldn't matter because the results will obviously be skewed one way or another.

I'd love to bet on this event but meh, too risky even though we know who the winner would be.
3237  Economy / Economics / Re: 76% of Adults are Making Lifestyle Changes to Prepare for a Potential Recession on: October 24, 2022, 11:34:40 PM
I think it's actually good that people are becoming more financially aware and not letting consumerism eat up their future. It's better to be prepared while being wrong than to not have anything when worse comes to worst. I myself am converting some of my extra cash into other assets, and stocking on valuable necessities too just in case. Nothing wrong with it unless it becomes hoarding.
3238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Launch of Ghost Electrum on: October 24, 2022, 11:07:53 PM
Forgive me if I’m wrong but i won’t put a single dollar in you wallet, first the announcement here on bitcointalk is very bad looking, you could buy a copper membership so you can add pictures and good design launch  announcement with much details to attract people. What this wallet has and do you charge extra fees. Which coins do you accept.
Second your application on android is also looking so old and copied from very old android apps without any attraction. Beside security and garantie of losing assets.
You miss many things to gain people’s trust

Its a legit wallet. It's specifically for the ghost privacy project. Cleanly forked from the #1 electrum app on the app store. It's just an announcement. Relax Smiley

Point is, at least OP should have given it a lot of thought and effort rather than making such a post at all. If one is very excited in the release of their app, shouldn't it be evident in the announcement first and foremost? I'm not accusing the app and its creators anything, just agreeing with the other commenter that there should have been "more" with this announcement of theirs. Hopefully OP relaunches and with a lot of effort the second time around.
3239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you win so big on: October 24, 2022, 10:33:26 PM
Upgrading your lifestyle after such a win is a no-no. There literally isn't any incentive for you to spend lavishly on things that you didn't have before as it will not make you more money at all. Better just stay what you are and just spend on things that matter rather than try to look rich while not having any money at all in the end. A few tens of thousands in the bank won't really get you to the luxury that you wanted anyway.

If it were me, I'd still stick to my budget and just invest the money that I got. A huge chance to get back more than what I put in rather than on buying expensive items.
3240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much was your last big win? on: October 24, 2022, 09:17:03 PM
1 bitcoin, but that was years ago and I even had some problems claiming it because the platform is a scam and I was the first one to expose what they're doing. It took a week or two of constant emailing and bombing their thread with my complaints before I got my payout. Since then, never won anything significant - maybe some few hundreds here and there but all of it always went to the casino straight away.

If I won a significant amount, I guess I'll be saving it and then sticking to my usual budget for once.
