Is this something new or have tests like this been done before?  Either way, looking forward to the final results.

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of some bitbills that people have.  During an image search they look like a gift card style.
3223  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Coin Making Guide- an eBook on making coins bars and physical bitcoin wallets! on: June 22, 2015, 12:25:17 AM
Hey guys, it's looking more and more like I will be making the pdf available directly since there is more demand for this format- the converting isn't finished but it's going quicker than I expected- just need to double check the layout. So the pdf will probably be available at the same time as the print edition as they are essentially the same thing in terms of file.

Thanks for the interest guys! I will update the thread when I have more info!

Awesome, looking forward to it!

The pics you've got are awesome. I'm not sure what the hologram looks like in person but the photos definitely make it look amazing. What camera are you using?

Thanks for the kind words.  It will normally look like this without any heavy refraction:

In reference to the images capturing the hologram, it comes down to specific angled lighting instead of a good camera.  Normally you can see these hologram colors with your eyes if angled properly but it still comes down to viewing in the proper lighting to achieve the result.

For some of the most vibrant shots (http://imgur.com/a/9e0l3) I used full fluorescent lighting with a fluorescent directional.  Motorola Droid cell phone camera.   Wink

In this album (http://imgur.com/a/WHa98) I used a different strategy - half natural sunlight on a clear day with a LED directional for angled lighting.  Sony cyber shot 14.1 megapixel.

I added a list of people interested in the 10 roll group buy to the 2nd post. Need 4 more rolls.

Put me down for 3 rolls.   Smiley

I was looking forward to the coins and then was told that due to a shipping increase the transaction was cancelled.

Not really a big deal and the escrow money was refunded, but I didn't cancel the transaction from my end.  Can I ask how much the extra shipping was?

Other than the transaction being cancelled due to an unexpected shipping increase, I'd say dogevisitor was easy to work with and had good communication.

You are right, sounds like openbazaar is the start/medium of skynet from this article.   Cheesy

Yes, what LaudaM said.  Smiley  ^^^
3234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin wallet lifetime ? on: June 17, 2015, 01:38:33 PM
hello,

I like to know where I can create a secure bitcoin wallet where I can keep my bitcoins for years, when I see websites that offer bitcoin wallet, I fear that one day the site no longer exists, and I lose all my bitcoins.

thanks.

You have to make sure to keep your Public/Private Key combination safe if you wish to keep the wallet for years.  I recommend generating these yourself and not storing the wallet on a website for long term.

Allowing only the wallet website to hold onto your Keys while a password is your access to your Public/Private Keys means that if the website goes offline, yes you will lose access to those wallet addresses and the funding.   If you backup your Public/Private Keys somewhere for each address, you will not lose access when the website goes offline as you can import your funds to another wallet.

Group buy of rolls sounds interesting.   Smiley

mrbrt,
Is there any distinguishable difference for the colored rolls on the outside or are they all packed the same (in brown paper roll with same color tape)?

All packed in the same rolls - no distinguishing marks. To be clear, each roll has at least 1 non-gray color.

Thanks for the information.
3238  Economy / Collectibles / [SOLD] Ravenbit NODE Bronze Physical Bitcoins on: June 17, 2015, 02:15:34 AM
For sale here are individuals of Ravenbit's newest coins which are the first ever to be assembled in-house by Ravenbit.  These coins are being sold in packs of 10 from the manufacturer without air-tites/pouches so I have purchased 20 and am distributing them with the air-tites and pouches for users who do not wish to purchase 10 coins.  The holograms look spectacular and have many angles to show off.  I was only able to post a couple pictures below but I have so many favorite images from these two albums it was hard to choose, check em out!   Grin

I am offering individual coins shipped that come in an air-tite case with a velvet Ravenbit pouch.  I have assembled these coins using gloves and my turnaround time for shipping is 1 business day so the coin will be in your hands quite quickly.

Price shipped anywhere in the US with tracking for 1 coin
$23.50 /

Price shipped anywhere in the US with tracking for 2+ coins
$20.50 /  per coin

If you are outside of the US, please send me a message for a quote to your specific country as my prices are reflected for shipping within the US.

A mutually agreed upon escrow can be utilized for this transaction if you would like.  If you are looking for more than one coin please let me know and we should be able to work something out.

And before you ask: yes, my avatar is an image I took of one of these coins.  Wink

3240  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Penny™ Commemorative Coins on: June 16, 2015, 03:52:35 PM
Thanks for the explanation BG4.   Wink

It depends on ...where on the rail you put the coin....A train wheel only makes contact with a small part of the rail... to reduce friction...   if you place the coin near the point of contact ...the coin will become so flat that it will become sharp like a blade..... further away from the point of contact and the gap will increase ....and not flatten the coin as much...... I think that point of contact is near the inside edge of a rail...

That explains why some of the design remained. I taped my coins to the center of the rail.

Regards,
Christopher

Very odd as I did the same exact thing!  Taped them dead center with scotch tape.   Smiley

Here are two photos as I carry this coin around with me in my wallet and yes it is sharp like BG explained.  The train that went over this penny was a freight train and not a passenger train.
