I have a BA in English Composition.  Maybe you better go back to school?

I got a nice reply from the consulate.

Had you received a response from the New Zealand Consulate you would have shared it's contents with us here in the Forum.
3242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long until we can bet with bitcoin in real life casinos? on: November 11, 2020, 12:07:15 AM
I think it's counter intuitive to gamble in real life with Crypto - by that I mean you can do so on any number of online gaming sites.  When you arrive at a Casino, people usually buy a drink (or even a meal) then exchange their fiat cash for poker chips which they then gamble with in the Casino.  It would be no different to using Crypto, I would imagine you would have to exchange it for in house poker chips (then chash out later).

Imagine buying 0.01 worth of chips, not wagering then an hour later cashing those chips back to crypto and only getting 0.00812 because of TX fees and the price fluctuating whist playing.
3243  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's: Follow users on Bitcointalk.org (posts and/or topics) on: November 10, 2020, 09:45:37 AM
I wasn't planning on doing that, since only a few people use this.

All good - was just a thought bubble.

Bump!
Is anyone even using this?

From time to time I do, yes.

I was wondering if this: https://loyce.club/follow/131361.html

could be added to this: https://loyce.club/profile.html?id=131361 or even this https://loyce.club/profiles/13/131361.html please?
3245  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: November 10, 2020, 02:02:56 AM

It is making NZ look like a "banana republic" in a way, and definitely appearing to allow
corruption, the taking away of funds from one person to another (in this case a high powered
legal team) and no oversight for the common good.

Do you really want to insult the very people you are going cap-in-hand for help to?

You might want to hold off writing any such letter until someone who is a native English speaker has had a chance to review and amend the shocking grammar (which may be sort of ok for an on line forum) and clarifies what you are actually wanting them to do on your behalf.

You might want to go back and read the last dozen pages and see that Judgements have been made and reported on here in this thread.

Can I just ask, what is the latest version of BPIP?  Why I ask the OP has the version as 2.0.4 but when I go to the link it says it is 2.0.3 (and no, I'm not asking about the "test" version of which I have version 2.1.1 but am not asking about the test version)

Warning: beta-quality software. Use at your own risk.

Somewhat-stable version: 2.0.4
Latest test version: 2.1.x[/quote]

I think objective obaervers can see you're a pathetic drooling imbecile ready to suck up to anyone that will support you on DT.

We've seen it before: inclusions based on nationalism instead of rationalism.
Very few people use the trust system in rational way. Most of the times, people include users because they trust them with fund or because of nationalism or simply they know the user or most common- backscratchers.

I must be the odd one out:

If Kamalla ran in 2024 I would bet on her to win, but I don't think that is a likely scenario. Joe will likely run for re-election. He might seem really old but last night we saw him jogging to the podium so I think he will still be in good enough shape to run again, although the presidency does take it's toll.

Biden could always decide to stand down on his 80th birthday given he just became the oldest person to be elected to the position. (which would be in under three years time)

I wouldn't be surprised if a different Trump - Ivana Trump decides to take a shot for the White House.

Ivana Trump already has all the publicity photos she could ever hope for - and the Family name to draw on.

Kamala Harris Vs Ivana Trump in 2024 - that would be an interesting wager to have.

3251  Economy / Reputation / Re: Using the trust system for personal Vendetta on: November 08, 2020, 09:07:55 AM
That would be an quite unpleasant move even after knowing icopress has motives of mobbing around by sending PMs to veteran members here.

I don't really see that as being that big an issue - reaching out to others for help and tho obtain their opinions...

It'd be like setting up a group of people in a conglomerate ... or a guild even.

I haven't just arbitrarily taken heavy handed action, rather I've opened the discussion up further.

Thoughts anyone?

WhiteManWhite has left the forum.

What a shame !  Cry

I've been considering DT distrusting whitemanwhite (and in turn DT trusting icopress - despite the fact it would disadvantage me due to both of their trust/distrust lists opposite to mine) - I won't have any hesitation to do so if whitemanwhite comes back and doubles down on their actions.

Joe Biden to become next US president, beating Donald Trump, according to multiple network electoral college projections - Posted 5 hours ago, updated 2 hours ago
3254  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: November 07, 2020, 10:45:38 PM
I was wondering, when are the ten points counted as being added to the score?  Is it month to month e.g. positive feedback is given on the 8th of the month, so the first point is added on that day then each of the next nine months on the 8th of the next month?

Or, is it the first point is added when the positive feedback is given, then a fraction of the year (one tenth of a year??) for nine times until the score is ten?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11-08/us-election-joe-biden-beats-president-donald-trump-networks-say/12859010

Quote
Joe Biden is set to become the next president of the United States, according to the decision desks of multiple US networks.
Key points:

Joe Biden has beaten Donald Trump to become the 46th President of the United States
Mr Trump has not conceded defeat, claiming the election was "far from over"
Supporters of Mr Biden are celebrating around the country with car honks and fireworks

CNN, MSNBC and Fox News have called the state of Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral college votes for the Democratic candidate, meaning he has enough votes in the electoral college for victory over Donald Trump.

Mr Biden said in a statement: "With the campaign over, it's time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation."

"We are the United States of America … And there's nothing we can't do, if we do it together."

Mr Biden made no mention of his opponent, President Donald Trump, who has not conceded the race.

I would expect gambling sites will start paying out fairly quickly.
3256  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most Recognized Profiles (by BPIP) on: November 07, 2020, 01:29:42 PM
If you were to include actual posts made by a user in calculating the Most Recognised Score, then users like Lauda's post score would have to be adjusted downwards considerably given the thousands (ten thousand potentially) posts that read "this thread has been moved to (name) section" in their capacity as an admin or mod.  Such posts shouldn't count.
3257  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most Recognized Profiles (by BPIP) on: November 07, 2020, 01:06:11 PM
According to my notes, my Most Recognised score over the last eighteen months has been as low as 44 and as high as 30 and usually hovers around the 36-38 score.

At the end of this year my scores will probably be 135?, 108, 185?, 37, 280 and 239 .

By the end of August next year I will over take Lauda's score of Most Active (around about a score of 103 - Lauda's Most Recognised score will then be eight) and will be top 100 between then and the end of 2021 at about a score of 98 with the overall scores ??, 98, 160, 36, ?? and 205.

3258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project. on: November 07, 2020, 12:38:15 PM
Score is -1 and this should be red, right?

Wrong.

2 X 2 = 4

10 - 4 = 6 (assuming the one positive has matured into a value of ten) (now watch suchmoon and ibminer pretend I didn't answer the question...)
3259  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: November 07, 2020, 10:46:01 AM
That's why Loyce suggested using a custodial wallet. BlueWallet doesn't require you to open your own channels. You can start receiving coins over the Lightning Network right after you create a wallet. You don't have to worry about inbound/outbound liquidity since it's managed by someone else.

Just ensure you write down the 24 word mnemonic seed passwords/phrase in a secure location when prompted to do so (and create an on-chain wallet first *and then* create a Lightning Wallet)
