What do you think of the current upwards trend? I bought when it went over $295 since it broke the level of 15-17th. But it went down now and i wonder if it will turn into a small crash. Though on the month chart it seems its still good in an uptrend. So am i right that the price might go down to 283$ and then goes up again? I think there is a strong resistance line at that price.

Any thoughts?

What is your evidence for support at 283?  Sure, on a micro scale it seems to have bounced for now, but I don't see it in the longer term charts.

See http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/bitfinexUSD#rg30zigHourlyztgSzm1g10zm2g25zv

I learned that resistance and support are found when you check the last trading. A restistance and support is the same, it only depends on where the current price is how it is named then. And these lines are recognized by the price having to push with might through it. Going up and down through it with large candles. Of course the price drops back on these lines too.

So when i look at the chart i see around 283 USD that on 10th, 16th and 24th the line was broken. And it happened with huge force, big candles. On top the line leat to bouncing of the price. That happened on 13th, 18th and a slightly on 21th.

Im not a pro trader but thats how i would read it. Please correct me when im wrong.

Normally i learned resistance lines are in fact more of a resistance area. But this area is pretty thin so that one might speak of a line too.

Yes, you are right. 'it might'.
It also might go lower than that.

Should i short bitcoin? I really wonder how many traders can tell what will happen successfully. Im puzzled about how much manipulated the bitcoin market is in comparision to forex markets, for example.

We just hit support, it is time to buy, not to sell.

Thats what i think too... though you probably know the feeling when you hold and price drops. Tongue

Anyway... i know that emotions are a bad advisor. I didnt sell yet and i hop support is holding. Oh right... in my post above i named it resistance instead support. Roll Eyes

To da moon... Cheesy

3244  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: July 30, 2015, 09:56:51 PM
Is the encryption feature for an address (right click) electrum specific or is that standard for wallets now? How to use it, i mean usecases?

True, but the documentation says the labels are encrypted on the client side before being transmitted to the server. So there is protection, it's not like the information is stored in clear text on the server.

Yeah, i remember. Though i wonder if the actual addresses can be encrypted. Though maybe its really a complete file that is up- and downloaded so that the actual addresses arent known to the server.

3246  Local / Projektentwicklung / Re: [ANN] & [DEV] SpreadBot 1000 der BTC Altcoin Trading Bot (v1.6 Release) on: July 30, 2015, 07:44:33 PM
Oh man...

Was blockt kaspersky denn?

3249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 29, 2015, 01:30:16 PM
I dont think anything is going on at the moment. Unconfirmed transactions are below 2000 and thats normal. https://blockchain.info/de/unconfirmed-transactions

I sent a zero fee transaction shortly before and it went through as fast as any transaction.
Still, tradeblock shows 22k unconfirmed with mempool at 38Mb.

Then i would trust blockchain.info more since i didnt have any problems and blockchain.info showed correctly when the last spam attack went on.

Maybe do a testtransaction to confirm it. Wink

3251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best Investment Option for Bitcoins? on: July 29, 2015, 01:13:37 PM
I think the best investment is gambling the btc for several months

this assume that you will not lose anything on the first day, a bit naive if you ask me, you won't last even 1 week if you have many coins to lose

The best option s proof of stake. Staking is profitable as mining and much more secure.

I love DMD Diamond, it s brought me nothing but profit so far. Let me know if you need help about setting up PoS wallet. No referral links, nothing similar, just want to help out.

but as i said cloud mining is better, as i showed you in the other thread, the profit is against pos coin if you compare to cloud by x5 or x10

Huh? Oo Cloudmining more profitable than pos coins? Of course it depends on the coin but with cloudmining you need to be lucky getting your investment back, with pos coins you often enough earn on rising coins and staking. And you dont lose your investment.

So where is your thread?
3252  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: July 29, 2015, 01:10:07 PM
300-400 posts a week? That seems impossible, constructive posts any way. How can anybody possibly do that many & live a normal life, have a job etc? My eyes couldn't handle that long staring at a computer screen.

It is possible though you need to only post when you really have something to say. Im sure most of them dont post that way and think there are easy riches.

I somewhat understand the change but it would have been better when they would have allowed it on a case by case basis. I mean someone posting great posts is a good thing for the campaign. They could replace some places of bad posters and would earn more and pay less with the campaign that way.

Uggghhh I can't get my address off the phone,  I can't see it.

The wallet keeps saying "Dogecoin wallet has stopped working" when I try to edit to see the whole address

Maybe I should just forget trying to get clams from that.

Thats a problem with many wallets, especially for smartphones. They try to make it simple for the average user but make it annoying for experienced ones.

I dont like the mindset behind. At least it should have a pro checkbox.

*lach* Tja... übernehm Verantwortung... du hast ihn jetzt angefixt. Cheesy
3255  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: July 29, 2015, 12:27:28 PM
Its strange that i only now get the idea to ask but can it be that certain servers are overloaded some time? Its not seldom that i cant connect to a server. Normally i dont use autoconnect because i think its way too risky spreading my addresses to every server that asks me to know my addresses. You never know who runs them. (Or do i miss that all electrum servers does now all wallet addresses anyway?)

Anyway... i use one server and another when this server doesnt work. And sometimes i cant reach them. It doesnt matter then when i restart electrum or let me give a new ip at AdvOr (thats an advanced TOR software).

So i wonder if server, 10k ones, are overloaded occassionally.

I run a private Electrum server on a slow machine.  It can take several minutes to process a block.  If a couple of large blocks hit the network rapidly the server falls behind the network.  This results in my client showing "server lagging" messages or, in some cases, the server getting "desperate" to catch up and just ignoring my client(s).   This happened quite often during the spam/test'demonstartion in early July.  With a public server, there is also the possibility that your client is competing with other people's clients for attention and cycles from the server that you have selected.

IMO, server performance is the biggest downside of Electrum and it will only get worse if the network traffic increases naturally and the block size is raised.  On my machine, the Electrum server uses more than four times more processing time than the Bitcoin Core.

Whats your server name? Its always good to know who handles your data. Smiley

And yes, i have not seldom the message that servers are lagging behind in the blocks.

I think it might be helpful when the serverwindow shows some serverstats too, like it was with emule servers. Its different here but one might be able to chose a server, as his standard that is constantly having ressources open. At least if you dont want to use autoconnect to stay more private.

But maybe the problem is the server code too? I mean ThomasV, i believe, changed the code of the client some months ago and now i have zero problems handling my huge electrum, containing thousands of addresses and transactions. Might be that the server software needs a performance update too.

At the end the electrum servers can serve a little bit as advertising. Means the server list is way bigger than before. That should lead to servers having more ressources free at least. If its not enough maybe allow a tab showing offers in electrum? Though i think devs wont accept that so it probably wont be a way out.
3256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 29, 2015, 12:19:25 PM
I have a feeling of being extorted for sending my money:
Send us double the normal fee, or your transaction will be delayed indefinitely  Angry

It costs whoever is doing this 0.0002 for each transaction he spams. He cannot continue for long. Last time lasted for 5 days. I am not sending anything until the spam dies down.

Yeah... maybe the new game is to start spam attacks occassionally for a couple hours. That way bitcoiners never know if their transaction might be caught in a spam attack suddenly. And maybe they pay more from the start then.

At least it stopped now. Im too tired of these ... persons that i dont even want to get angry. Cheesy
3257  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: July 29, 2015, 12:16:15 PM
my biggest mistake is i not knowing bout bitcoin earlier  Sad

LOL I feel you. I started making bitcoin last March only. Don't worry we can still see the old bitcoin price and possibly it can surpass the current all time high price.

Ok so don't worry you still have plenty of time to be scammed, hacked, tricked, .... and a lot of crazy shit!

So, you better read this thread carefully before you engage any business or investment with BTC!

Your reply is a miles away from that post. Read carefully before going to a signature campaign post.

Oh, i remember reading that and wondering too but didnt bother to read more carefully. But you are right.

BTCBinary... you really should be cautious if you want to keep that account valueable. You dont want to get banned for spam. ONLY post when you have something to contribute. You will be liked by campaign managers and often earn more than with spamming.
3258  Economy / Goods / Re: Prepaid MasterCard Red Reloadable With own Bic/Iban on: July 29, 2015, 12:05:21 PM
He wrote with me a bit and it might be that he came on here because he wanted to sell though had no contact with bitcoins before. So it might be that the idea of using an escrow is alien to him. So that he didnt want to involve another party.

So Mark... you can sell here without problems. This forum is less regulated than most. Mostly because of the liberal way bitcoin is. But you most probably can only sell with an escrow involved because the amount of scams happening on here are huge. Everyone knows that there are enough scammers scamming someone for less than $10.

So i think you would need to follow the rules of the buyers in the house you came in. They wont buy from you otherwise most probably.
3259  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there interes to crowdfund an open source potential activity counter? on: July 29, 2015, 11:48:36 AM
I would actually be interested in writing the bot.

This could be a bounty thing. The bounty could be crowd funded and whoever makes the first implementation that works gets the bounty.

Then we would need to know how much work it is. I imagine it can be done in 5 minutes for an experienced user since there are scripting languages you can add to a browser and automate processes.

Or there is greasemonkey. I think it should be able to do something with that too.

So for now i dont have a clue about what would it cost. With a bounty... i think if the bounty is worth it and im a developer, then i would not start working on it when the risk is high that my work is wasted because someone was faster.

So i think we need offers in price, bitcoin wise.

The code should be reviewd of course to ensure its safe to use.
3260  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there interes to crowdfund an open source potential activity counter? on: July 29, 2015, 11:45:11 AM
i would be up for contributing a bit to the project were it to come to fruition; i can see some potential revenue from this as well: if the bot is run on a website, there is potential for revenue from ad money, although for this to be feasible the ad money would have to surpass the posting costs. however, i dont know if such a site would generate that much traffic, as I don't know how active the account trading/selling market is for farmed accounts with potential activity.

The risk of a service like that would be that its owner would know which accounts get sold. That might be a risk for seller and buyers. Or lets say its a risk for the buyer since such an account wont get negative before it gets sold.
